Party Pony Student
Perfect Timing
Load Full StoryPrincess Celestia gazed down at the dullening landscape as her chariot was pulled through the sky. She was going to speak with some seaponies, who she was meeting at the coast of the South Luna Ocean. She had hoped that they were going to meet at Horseshoe Bay, as it was much closer, but she wasn't going to complain. The longer flight meant more time out of the castle, which could get rather stuffy and dull.
"Whee!" cried a voice from beside her, causing Celestia to look up
A pink Earth pony filly was pedaling an odd looking machine that seemed to resemble a sort of helicopter. It was made out of an assortment of odd items, including a wrench, some uninflated balloons, and rocks.
"Guards," said Celestia, watching as the pony slowly descended back to the ground, "Please land."
The chariot landed on the ground next to a dull-looking farm covered in rocks. The pink filly had safely landed, and started to play around with the propeller on the helicopter-thing. Celestia walked up to the little filly, and gently tapped her.
"Excuse me." she said, causing the filly to turn around.
"Hiya!" said the filly, bouncing up to Celestia's eye level and then back to the ground, "My name is Pinkie Pie! What's your name? Tee-hee! I'm just kidding, you're Princess Celestia!!! Wowzers, I never thought I'd ever meet you in pony!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Pinkie Pie. I just wanted to ask you something."
"Sure thing! What it is? Are you going to ask about our rock farm? Or why everything seems to be gray?"
"I was just wondering, did you build that flying machine?"
"Yep indeedy, I sure did! I had just been thinking, 'What's it like to fly?' So I built this real quick so I could! And before that I thought, 'Can I jump to the top of the house if I use balloons?' And it worked!"
"Those are very creative ideas."
"Ooh! And this one time, I made a PARTY CANNON! All I need is stuff to put in it and I can blast a party everywhere I go. I mean, I just stay here on the farm with my family though, so I don't get to use it!"
Pinkie's smile hadn't wavered once throughout her conversation with Celestia, who had just gotten an idea.
"You're a very creative pony, Pinkie Pie," she said, "I don't think I've ever seen anypony come up with ideas like yours. I was wondering... Would you like to be my personal student?"
"Why me?"
"Because nopony could come up with the ideas that you do."
"That sounds super-duper fun! I'll have to ask mom and dad, but I already really wanna be your student! It would be so much fuuuuun!" Pinkie spun her tail around like a propeller, and began to get airborne.
Celestia's mouth dropped open, and the filly landed.
"I'm gonna go talk with mom and dad right now!" Pinkie dashes off towards the drab house.
"... Was that magic?" asked Celestia softly to herself.
Pinkie had brought back her mother and father in no time, who each both automatically bowed to Celestia. She then told them that she believed that Pinkie was a very unique pony, and that she wanted Pinkie to be her student. They were very surprised at this idea, and said that they were going to consider it. Celestia told them that she would be back later to see if they had an answer.
The meeting with the seaponies had been uneventful. It was just about a ship wreck that the seaponies had found, and they were wondering if Celestia wanted it back. She didn't recognize it as an Equestrian ship, and allowed the seaponies to keep it. She then returned to the rock farm, where Pinkie was waiting with several bags packed. Celestia could tell what their decision was. Pinkie said goodbye to her family, promising to visit them, and happily bounced into Celestia's chariot. As they took off, Pinkie called back to her family once more.
"Bye, dad! Bye, mom! Bye, Maud! Bye, Marble! Bye, Limestone!" she yelled happily, "Bye, rock! Bye, rock! Bye, rock! Bye, rock! Bye, all the other rocks I didn't list!"
Celestia smiled, Pinkie sure was something special. Maybe she could even be the one pony that she needed...
