Anubi decided to stay in Equestria after Rougarou's declaration of war, for the time being just to see how things would unfold. She couldn't believe what this pup had done using the ancient laws to wipe out this so-called army of the righteous this was no army it was a bunch of cowards and thugs who think that since they have some power that could do anything they wanted, pathetic. She had Cesar go back to Canis, but she had sent Rabbies and BZ Barokus back with him just to make sure the waste of sperm didn't do anything stupid. Having her daughters there was in fact a good thing as it turned out the King did agree to the betrothal on one condition that was none negotiable neither of them would ever be the Alpha they would be Betas or nothing. It didn't take much for Hele and Persephone to agree, by the Gods those two must already be in heat. As is the custom there was to be a three-day grace period before the Bride or in this case Brides were to meet their mate and consummate the contract. During this seeing as Canis did not have an embassy, she and her entourage were placed in rooms at the castle.

Anubi would walk the streets of Cantorlot gathering information here and there of nobles and other ponies disappearing some showing up later but others no word of them was ever spoken again. It was during one of these walks that she heard about the Massacre of Whitetail Woods that's what these foolish equines called it. The way they told the story had the dogs portrayed as bloodthirsty monsters who had capture hundreds of mares, fillies, and colts to use to state their hunger for fresh meat. But from one of Rougarou's dogs or Lycans, as they call themselves now who remained in the city, it was no massacre those animals had ample time to run but chose to just stand there.

She would at times visit the throne room to watch day and night court. Observing this she noticed that Celestia would show no emotion when confronted by the nobles who would bitch and moan about what the dogs were doing to their citizens. It was night court that she could truly see the depths of what was happening to this so-called perfect country. Luna would only spend short amounts of time with the ponies before she would leave for the rest of the night. Curiosity got the better of Anubi and decided to confront the night princess. What she had learned was both surprising and disturbing, to say the least, she just sat there and listened to the Princess of the Moon and Dreams.

The Dream Realm

I would walk through the realm of dreams and help my ponies when needed. I would help with ending nightmares other times I would give them a glimpse of a dark future in the hope that it could change their ways. But now my thoughts are pulled to one pony in particular one of my beloved daughters her heart is weighed down by so much sadness and confusion. I can sense that her mind is in turmoil once again I must go to her at once or she will be driven mad with these visions.

Many times I have walked these halls in this realm looking into the dreams of those we watch over but my dear Twilight it pains me to see how this has affected you. I watch as she lays on the floor unmoving until the familiar voice of her brother is heard causing her to cover her head with her hooves repeating the same words over and over asking no begging for this vision to stop.

“Twilight how could you, how could you soil yourself by fucking that animal not only that you have the nerve to have it abominations?” I watch as the figure of Shining Armor appears with two small bundles floating in his magic.

“You know we can’t have you taint our family with these things so the only way is for them to disappear,” He says as he drops the bundles to the ground only for them to begin to cry.

Watching as he rears up on his hind legs ready to stomp on the defenseless babies do I interfere.

ENOUGH

With a blast of my magic, the form of that monster that has plagued my daughter's dreams is finally gone forever. I move over to comfort her crying form.

“There, there my daughter it is gone, please dry your tears it would not due for one of the daughters of the night to be seen in such a state,” earning a small smile from the young mare being called daughter.

“Will, that really happen would my brother be so cruel that he would try to kill my babies. his own family?” pointing at where the form once stood.

“I do not know the answer to that but you must remember that you are not alone you have your pack sisters Rougarou and me to help and protect you, But please tell me this is not the reason for such a dream?”

“I just don’t understand why, why did Rou do this the declaration of war, the deaths, all of it?”

Nuzzling the young pony, Luna now understood. “Twilight you must understand that you have never felt the pain of hatred or seen the darkness of war, but I, your sisters, and mate have.”

“Rou was born into a world that has known hatred and war. Wars fought over land, resources, and yes even the color of one's skin, even my sister and myself have stained our hooves with blood to protect our ponies. The dogs have always used violence to show strength at times it can be bloody yet it was their way of life, I say this because my son wishes to change it.” Luna said looking proud at what her son is trying to do.

“Come I will show you that Rou is one of the last who wishes for any of this to be happening,” Leading the young mare out of her dream and to an unknown place.

They did not need to travel far as both mares now stood behind the figure of Rou who was kneeling before a small altar with his head bowed and hands clapped. They stood there and listened to the words that he was speaking.

“Dear Heavenly Father it has been one month since I last prayed to you, and I ask that you do not forsake me. I remember the words my Grandmere had taught me the words of your son to not show aggression but turn the other cheek and Lord I tried I really tried. I know I failed you when that animal ki, killed my children I could no longer stand it, the hatred that these ponies show to others that you in your divine wisdom have chosen to live be treated like filth. They are treated the same way those back on Earth were, even my own Father and Grandmere. But here Oh Lord this world is the closest to heaven as can be. Dear Lord, I beg that you do not judge those who have chosen to follow me harshly for it is the sins of the shepherd that lead his flock astray. I only ask, no I beg you, Lord, that you protect those who mean everything to me and allow them to understand I am not doing this out of hate but to protect those who can not protect themselves I do this for Justice, not Revenge for I know the souls of my lost children are held in your arms for all the lambs of the earth shall be given a place in heaven.
I say these in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen.” With that, the two watched as Rou stood up and made his way back to the Colony.

“Why could he not see us?”

“I had brought us here on the Astral Plane a place between wake and sleep life and death, so tell me Twilight my daughter now do you understand?”

“Yes, I think I do, Rou doesn’t want this any more than you or me but he has to do it to save this world from itself,”

That is it precisely for our world has become stagnant old views and beliefs have pushed down the new but this hatred can not be allowed to flourish even if those who believe and follow it must be removed from the world it must stop.”

With that in a flash of light Twilight awakens to see Rou as he walks into the bedroom where she gets up transforming to her Lycan form pulling him into a loving hug.

“I love you Rougarou Lebeau and I will stand with you no matter what,” She said kissing him.

“That's all I ever wanted and I promise to protect all of you so help me,” Returning the kiss.

End Flashback

Anubi could not believe what she had learned the true King of the Dogs did not want this war but it had to be done to save this world from itself. These were the signs of a truly wise king and as of this morning, her two daughters were part of the most powerful pack in all of Equis. Hell, she just laughed to herself thinking of when those pups are born one of them will be chosen to take her place as ruler of Canis to hell with Cesar that worthless cur the only thing good about him was his sire was a good fuck. Heading back to her courters Anubi had decided that she will be joining the war on the side of the king.

Back in Ponyville, the train was pulling into the station as the passengers disembarked one pony stood out amongst the rest it was a batpony and by the looks of him, he was part of the guard by the way he would be looking around for danger without looking and for having his uniform stowed away in his saddlebags. This was Captain Knuckles Shadow of the Luna Guard and he was on a mission.
