Rarity was working on a dress as she was preoccupied with her work in Carousal Boutique. She was busy all day but she was almost done so she didn't have any reason to complain. Soon she finished and sat down while she looked around her room. Her door opened and Fluttershy walked in.
Rarity saw her and proceeded to say hello when Fluttershy interrupted her so she could speak to her before Rarity could start she didn't mean to be rude to Rarity but she had a very important message to tell Rarity. Rarity decided to shut up and just listen to her friend speak instead of asking why she was at her place as it would be rude to Interrupt her friend.
"Pinkie Pie wants to see you immediately. She'll be in Ponyville town hall. You better get over there so you won't keep her waiting and end up being late. It's important." Fluttershy said. Rarity was really confused at why Fluttershy was acting so serious and why Pinkie Pie was in the town hall. She nodded as she wondered what it was all about.
"I understand! I'll be over there right in a few moments!!" Rarity said as she started to walk towards the town hall. Fluttershy nodded and watched her leave. Rarity walked towards the town hall as she had so many questions running through her mind. What was she called there for anyway? She never had to go to any meetings.
She saw the town hall in the distance. She sped up her pace as she didn't want to keep Pinkie Pie waiting plus she was curious as to what this was all about. She needed to find out. Soon she walked into the building and saw ponies staring at her and whispering a receptionist motioned towards a door.
"You're Rarity right?" She asked her. Rarity nodded in confusion at the way ponies were reacting to her. She started to get a little on edge as the ponies eyes bore into her and it frightened her how many ponies were staring. She wondered what was going on. She needed to find out even if she was in trouble for something.
"Yeah I am! What's this all about?" She asked as she wanted to know what in the world was going on. The receptionist motioned towards the door in a polite manner but spoke in frustration as she needed to get Rarity into the room so the session could commence. Rarity looked at her and the receptionist spoke to Rarity.
"You need to get in there right now they are waiting for you and you are holding up the meeting!" The receptionist said in frustration. Rarity nodded quickly as she didn't mean to be difficult. She wondered what was so important as all of the ponies seemed to be antsy around her. She looked at the door and the receptionist and replied to the quick order that was barked to her.
"Sure sorry about that." Rarity said as she walked into the main meeting room. Once she got inside a huge group of ponies from media and newspapers started to take pictures of her. She saw some of her friends excluding Pinkie Pie as Pinkie wasn't there yet. But her friends greeted her silently her friends smiled and Applejack tipped her hat.
She felt embarrassed that all of these ponies were watching her. There were so many. She was completely surrounded. She looked at them all as they took pictures. Her heart was beating faster then usual as she was so nervous. She walked slowly to the table as she watched them all take photos. She felt so overwhelmed. She was being watched and that embarrassed her.
She saw a table in the middle of the room. She cautiously sat down and waited. She had so many thoughts running through her head. Then all of a sudden the door opened and Pinkie Pie entered the room as she had just finished a day of working at Sugarcube Corner and all of the media ponies started to take pictures again. They started to continuously take pictures without stopping. Rarity watched Pinkie Pie approach her.
Pinkie Pie walked to the table and extended her hoof. Rarity sat up and shook it politely and then Pinkie Pie took out folders from a bag she was carrying. She set the folders on the table while Rarity watched. Rarity sat back down. Pinkie Pie pulled out her chair and sat down and then she turned on two microphones.
Rarity was anxious to figure out what this meeting was all about as Pinkie Pie prepared to speak to her. She worried at the possibility that she was in trouble. She couldent remember doing anything bad. She might have but she forgot and if she did then she didn't mean to. She just wanted to get this over with but at the same time she was terrified. Pinkie Pie then spoke,
"Rarity, Princess Twilight, members of the press I'd like to thank all of you for coming to this meeting that Celestia and delegates of Canterlot has set up. The meeting will commence but I'd like to set out the rules. There will be no talking, no walking, no eating, if you need to use the bathroom make it aware to the royal guard stationed in this room, there will be no chewing gum or horsing around. If any of you break these rules you will be asked to leave. Understand?" Pinkie Pie asked while looking at them.
All of the ponies nodded their heads and Pinkie Pie opened a few folders and took out some pens. Rarity was so confused by this whole ordeal. Nopony told her about the meeting unless she was made aware of it and forgot. Pinkie Pie took one of the folders and presented it to Rarity and opened it up.
"You need to read this before we begin. It's imperative at you understand what's going on here Rarity." Pinkie Pie stated. Rarity nodded and then foxed the way she was sitting and began to read the document.
Rarity saw charges of crimes listed on the piece of paper. She frowned as she read the list. She didn't understand what she was reading. She didn't understand what was going on. She had no idea why she was she brought to a town hall meeting. She looked at Pinkie Pie who was watching her with an expression that was not amused.
"What...what is this about? I um I don't understand. I'm very confused and reading this list doesn't help. What is going on?" Rarity asked. Pinkie Pie watched her for a minute as Rarity became uncomfortable with eyes of the ponies and Pinkie staring at her Pinkie Pie then spoke with an angry voice.
"Rarity your being charged with a crime! Don't you understand!? I need to ask you a lot of stuff because your hoof prints are all over the place! Tell me what happened with Sweetie Belle six months ago." Pinkie Pie stated in a stern manner. Rarity thought for a moment shrugged in confusion as she shook her head.
"I don't know what do you mean." Rarity told her. Pinkie Pie fumed with anger which made Rarity nervous. She slapped a paper down and Rarity read the charge against her about her sister seeming to have taken a substance. Rarity started to get very upset. She knew she was going to be caught.
"I...only put it into her food! Honest! It was for her to calm down." Rarity complained as her voice started to break.
"By slipping her Benzodiazepines?! Why not a fucking hug!?" Pinkie Pie screamed. Rarity started to cry at the realization of her guilt.
"You've been charged with child abuse, theft of drugs and a fucking commitment to lie! L-I-E! L-I-E!" Pinkie Pie yelled as she spelled out the word. Twilight shook her head in disappointment at Rarity. Rarity looked around the room as ponies took pictures of her and wrote down info on the meeting for tomarrow' papers. She was so embarrassed.
"I didn't lie! I didn't abuse her I swear on my grave!" Rarity cried in protest. Pinkie Pie shook her head and then took out a medical dictionary and flipped it to the description she needed and then she read it to Rarity as the ponies watched them.
"Benzodiazepines are sometimes used in the treatment of acute anxiety, as they bring about rapid and marked or moderate relief of symptoms in most individuals; however, they are not recommended beyond 2–4 weeks of use due to risks of tolerance and dependence and a lack of long-term effectiveness. As for insomnia, they may also be used on an irregular basis, such as in where said anxiety is at its worst. Because of their muscle relaxant action, benzodiazepines may cause respiratory depression in susceptible individuals. For that reason, they are contraindicated in ponies with myasthenia gravis, sleep apnea, bronchitis, and COPD. Caution is required when benzodiazepines are used in ponies with personality disorders or intellectual disability because of frequent paradoxical reactions. In major depression, they may precipitate suicidal tendencies and are sometimes used for suicidal overdoses. Individuals with a history of alcohol, opioid and barbiturate abuse should avoid benzodiazepines, as there is a risk of life-threatening interactions with these drugs." Pinkie read.
She then put the book back away and looked at Rarity with her arms crossed. Rarity had realized her mistake. She felt awful for possibly causing her sister to have suicidal tendencies. She felt embarrassed. Ponies were taking pictures of her embarrassed state. She started to cry as she couldn't believe the mess she put herself in.
"So why in the fuck did you give her a fucking controlled substance that has risks!? Are you a fucking idiot!? It's like you don't care about what happens to your sister! She should have gone to a therapist for help not be given anything that has side effects!" Pinkie screamed.
"I do care! That's why I gave some to her! I'm being honest please I didn't mean to abuse her I swear to Celestia I didn't!" Rarity complained.
"You didn't have to give her medication! You could have just hugged her!! You didn't have a right to slip her a fucking controlled substance!! That's called child abuse! You see Rarity in Equestria we have a thing called a court! Ponies who are charged go there and are put in jail because they are bad ponies you my lying idiotic friend might be going there next!" Pinkie Pie yelled. Rarity sobbed heavily at what was happening.
Rarity wished she was just having a nightmare but unfortunetly it was all to real to her. Rarity couldn't run away from the truth. She had to admit that she had made a mistake. She felt horrible for drugging her sister when instead she could have just hugged her. She continued to cry. Pinkie Pie packed up her stuff and gave Rarity one final document.
"You will be summoned to court and you will be given a lawyer because we aren't that mean to charged ponies. You can defend what you did there. Because I'm not going to listen to your bullshit! Don't get me wrong this does not mean that we aren't friends anymore you will still be my friend but you need to correct this!" Pinkie said.
"The media? The meeting is over. Do not harass Rarity and be sure that you have the town hall's permission to post all of the stuff that you have recorded of the meeting. Copies are available to the public so if you need a transcript don't be afraid to ask me or the Ponyville town hall. Thank you all for coming."
Pinkie Pie then left Rarity to her thoughts. All of the media ponies were dismissed. Her friends said bye to her politely. She said bye to them silently and then got up as well as she couldn't look Pinkie Pie in the eye.
Rarity walked home in despair as she bought a lawyer on the way home. She got in bed and cried herself to sleep. The day was to stressful to her. She saw her sister laying in her own bed. She was glad that her sister wasn't mad at her as her sister didn't understand what she did and she didn't have to.
She went to sleep. Over the next few days the case made its way to a judge. The next week she got summoned to court. She went there with a lawyer and tried to defend her innocence. She lost the case but Celestia pardoned her but with a new rule for Rarity in which before she gave Sweetie Belle medications she would check with Sweetie Belle's doctor and a pharmacist she also made a rule that Sweetie Belle would be watched out for so they could see if Rarity does anything wrong.
Ponies all over Equestria heard the results of the case. Some were happy while others were angry. Rarity knew what she did was wrong. She never should have done what she did in the first place as it was the wrong reaction from her. Rarity never did what she did again.
