Chapters It was another day in equestria like any other, mares and stallions were out chatting and trotting around in canterlot and manehattan minding there own business but our story starts in a little town called Ponyville.
"SPIKE!!" the pony know as Twilight Sparkle said in a very what seemed to be stressed out voice. As she said that a little green and purple Dragon came running down the stairs not knowing why Twilight was yelling thinly something was wrong.
"What's wrong Twilight" spike said not sure what was happening.
" Oh thank goodness I need your help packing up my study tools princess celestia has asked me to come to Canterlot and study a new type of magic she found, she thought I'd be the best pick".
" Ok " Spike said as he seemed to put on a sad smile or some what of a fake one as he went to grab what Twilight had asked for. When he had gathered up most of Twilights equipment he came back in to the main room of the Crystal castle and saw that there were books scattered on the ground.
"Where is it Where is it!!!" Twilight said trying to find a certain book as she was making a big mess that spike would most likely have to pick up later.
"Spike do you know we're my book on crystal magic is"? She said still very stressed out.
" Third shelf last one on the left". Twilight eagerly pulled it out with her magic and put it in with all of her equipment that she would be brining to canterlot.
As she was doing that spike asked "So when are we leaving " he said smiling at Twilight.
Twilight turned around and made a very uncomfortable face and said" umm.... sorry Spike but I need you to stay here and watch the castle I'll only be gone for a couple of days" she smiled weakly at him.
Spike looked at here with a fake smile and said" oh ok then well tell the Princess's I said Hi"
Twilight looked at him for a couple seconds looking at him before returning to her packing. She then said " Thanks for understanding Spike I really appreciate it, now I just have to wait for the chariot to get here and get the rest off the girls".
Spike was about to say something but after she said that she bolted out the door happy she would get to see her friends again not even bother to notice that she knocked over spike. Then as she went out the door Spike had already got back up and was looking at her with a mixed face that described everthing he was feeling, anger and sadness at the same time.
Spike had begun cleaning up the mess Twilight made but kept thinking about why Twilights and his relationship had changed so much from when they moved to ponyville. They had always had each other's back and never left anyone behind but.... now things were different now twilight had her own friends and now spike was just something she........ Forgot
2 Hours Later
Spike had finally cleaned the giant mess twilight made from this morning and decided to relax and make himeself some lunch so he went into the kitchen and was about to grab his Apron when he looked at it and thought of the time Rainbow Dash laughed at him for wearing it. "Ya the it strong Dragon that wears the girly apron Ha Ha Ha" Spike looked at her with sadness but then said" what's wrong with wearing a apron"? Rainbow dash started to stop laughing along with everyone else and said " because dragons are suppose to be big and strong, not lame like wearing a apron" the mane six had all began to laugh but spike was just hurt that she said that I mean were friends..... right. As Spike thought about it more and more he suddenly didn't feel hungry and went back to the main lobby just to think.
He started to think about all the things his "friends" had put him through with Rainbow and Pinkie making fun of him and pranking him constantly to Rarity using his feeling just to get free labor. Spike had already given up trying to win Rarity heart but she still didn't realize he didn't like her anymore but still used his feeling for free labor. But the worst of it was Twilight she had ignored him and treat him more like a slave and less like a assistant. It had become to the point where she would just leave Spike alone and not even invite him to anything. He even went as far as to call Twilight his sister but she seemed to just see him as a slave.
He started remembering all the things he had been left out on Twilight birthday, the national desert competition , multiple picnics and outings with his so called "friends" see Pinkies sister, the equestrian games going to Cloudsdale to see Rainbow Dashes sonic rainboom, even going so far to say he never got to go see his mo- Princess Celestia in Canterlot but was just told by Twilight" Stay here and watch the library I'm sorry Spike but this is a princess only event" and when she came back he saw that she brought all her friends with her.
As Spike remembered time and time again when he was left out and ignored he started to bawl up his fist in anger. What really brought him over the edge was when he remembered the time when the girls celebrated the reunion of there cutie marks which so happens to be the same day when Spike was born. But they didn't even remember not even Pinkie pie they just had a wonderful day while Spike was left to clean like always. He ended up crying to sleep that night remembering how he made a cake for himself hoping that Twilight and the girls were making him a surprise party but it never happened he waited and waited but there never was a surprise.
As Spike thought of that memory he punched the wall as hard as he could lacking any sort of thinking because only angry overtoke his mind. He hit it hard enough to make a little crack in the wall very hard to see. Spike was finally starting to calm down and sat back on the couch were hey kept contemplating his life and what he was meant to do. As he kept thinking he just thought off all the abuse and loneliness he's had to expirence he just thought of how he's always been
ALONE
Author's Note
This is my first ever story and I hope you guys enjoy I'm going to try and get the next.chapter out on tomorrow so stay toned but if you could give me some advice in the comments that would be awesome also I will take criticism but can you make it criticism that will at least help my writing and tell me what's wrong.
A Voice
By the time I had finish thinking about everything I had been through it was almost sun down and Twilight had already left with the girls luckily she hadn't seen the small crack in the wall because she would have freaked out on Spike.
After the girls had left Spike had made some gems for himself and had went to bed but he couldn't sleep he had just kept thinking about his friends and how they treated him. Eventually he had been able to fall asleep but something was.....off
He knew he was dreaming because everthing didn't feel real at all but the weird part was everything around him was black. He was walking around and things around him started to take form it started transforming into the everfree forest. Now spike wasn't sure was going on he thought to himself "Is Luna doing this or is this just my dream" he said in his head.
Right after he thought that he felt a presence behind him something that he's felt before but he wasn't sure what it was.
He spun around to see what it was but nothing was there just more forest. Now spike was starting to get really confused he didn't understand why he was having this dream.... or was it a nightmare. He didn't know anymore all he knew was something was there with him he could sense it. As he was still facing the direction were he felt the dark presence he started to walk in that direction feeling a urge to do so.
As he was now walking he could start to see the forest getting less and less denser. It started to clear out to the point where Spike could see a trail that lead somewhere. He followed it until he found that the trail had lead him to the castle of the two sisters.
He didn't understand. Why was this happening what was going on? Who was there with him? And where was Luna, was this her doing? He started walking inside the old rotted castle to see if the creature or pony that had been watching him was there.
As he made it inside he had a very uneasy feeling. He didn't like this at all. He didn't understand who made this dream or why was he here? Was this because of the things he thought about before about all his friends.
Suddenly something made a loud screeching noise that scared Spike. He ran behind the door to the castle not wanting to go any further. But something in the back of his mind told him to go forward. He slowly stepped forward going into the castle step by step. He looked frantically back and forth to see if something was watching or following him.
As he continued his way through the castle he made it to the next room were there were to banners one of Luna and one of Celestia.(where the flashback took place of nightmare moon and celestia fighting) As he continued through the castle see multiple doors closed. He tried to open one but it was locked. Door after door he tried opening but all of them were locked.
Then at the end of the long hallway he saw a door that was slightly open with light coming out of it. He started walking to the door to see what was inside but when he was about to reach the door to push and open it he stopped frozen when he felt something directly behind him.
Then he heard the voice in the back of his head again. It started saying something he didn't understand but then it started saying things like "follow me" and "trust me" Spike was frightened to say the least but he still wasn't sure what to do.
Then Spike decided to listen to the voice hoping it would help him so he'd let go of the door and turned around. Again nothing was there but he could sense something was watching. He was so conflicted.
On one part he could go through the door and see what happens on another part he could follow the voice and see what it wants. Making a decision Spike decided to follow the voice. So he spoke allowed and said " What do you want" he said.
At first nothing had happened but then a door on his right had opened he could hear whispers coming from the room. Spike was scared but decided that if he trusts the voice he might be able to find out why he is having this dream so he slowly walked over to the door and pushed on it.
When he looked in all he saw was darkness but despite his better Judgment he went in. Suddenly the door slammed close behind him leaving him alone with his thoughts. He knew something was going to happen but wasn't sure what it would be.
He still felt something watching him. But he pushed through and kept walking into the darkness. As he kept going he could feel the castle floor start to changes into a more rock like floor. As he continued he saw a light at the end he approached it and saw it was a rip in the darkness so he opened the rip so he could walk through it.
As he went through he could not see where he was going but pushed onward. After about 30 seconds the light started to subside. And he now saw that he was still in the everfree forest but he was in the cave with the tree of harmony.
All of this didn't make sense why was he dreaming about this was this even a dream. The. Suddenly he heard the voice again. It said " you must push forward you are almost there" spike looked around him to see if the person saying that was someone in the dream or was someone in his head.
He ended up not finding anyone again but continued onward. As he approached the tree it started to look sorse and worse as he got closer. It got to the point were it looked like the tree was dead but the elements weren't on it anymore.
Then as he passed the tree he saw something behind it something that had made him interested in what was going on now. He started to see bubbles floating around l. He went up to one and saw that it was when Spike was left alone when twilight was having her birthday party. As he went down the line he saw all of the memory's when he was abandoned, left out, made fun off, and even forgotten. Spike started to not feel anything. He wasn't angry nor said he was just standing there.
As he was standing there the voice spoke once more " I can give you what you desire" it said in a very dark voice. Spike stood there looking around to see if anyone was around. As he was looking he heard hoove steps but they were much lighter than any mares or stallions it was if they weren't even walking.
As the hoovesteps got closer Spike said "What would that be?" In a very intrigued voice. When the pony was in seeing range it appeared to be a pony with a dark coat and grey mane with blue and purple strips in it, the pony was a mare. Her eyes were like his eyes slits but here were a mixture of purple and blue.
As it spoke its voice sounded like a mares so spike assumed it was a mare. The mysteries mare spoke she said " Well Spike the one thing you desire is the one thing you don't have". Spike had a look of shock on his face how did this mare know his name this was getting stranger and stranger by the second.
Spike then asked the mysterious mare "How do you know my name!" He said with anger not understanding what was going on or how this mare knew him.
The mare then said " I know many things about you Spike, how you've been forgotten, bullied, and used by the people you call your friends".
"What else do you know" spike said.
" "Much more but I know the one thing you want is...... to not be forgotten" she said as Spike started to black out.
Spike woke up sweaty and with a frightened expression on his face. He looked out his window to see the moon was full l. He then looked back in his room thinking about what happened and who that mare was but he knew that she knows much about Spike.
Spike wasn't sure what he was going to do. Should he tell twilight or not tell anyone about this dream. But he knew he would have to do something soon enough before Twilight and the others get back so spike needed to make a choice. Sooner or later.
So he decided.
Author's Note
Ii hope you liked it. This new character that I talked about in this chapter is a canon character but she is changed in my story. I made it a her because I thought it would be the best to fit the role I want her to play in the story. But you will find out who this character is in later chapters.
The Question
After Spikes dream had occurred he had decided on what he was going to do. He thought about extensively and decided to not tell Twilight. As if she would believe him anyway.
When Spike woke up he went downstairs to the kitchen got himself some gems and ate breakfast about 15 minutes later he received a letter from Twilight saying she and the girls would be back by noon and that he should have the library cleaned up by then because the Princesses would also be coming over.
So Spike had to dust and start making food until everyone had arrived at noon. He had spend some time on the food so he hoped that everypony enjoy it.
When twilight and the others arrived he had everything ready. Twilight came in and said " Hey Spike thanks for watching the castle while I was gone"
Spike had just looked at her and nodded his head. Then Spike turned to every pony and said hi. He then went over to the princesses and bowed but Spike noticed that Luna was giving him a weird glance but he didn't know why.
As dinner went on Spike had to make sure every pony had whatever they wanted especially the Princesses because Twilight ordered him to be the dinner servant as every pony was eating.
After everyone had finally finished dinner the Princesses said there goodbyes and left. Spike felt a little sad and angry because they didn't thank him for the food they thanked Twilight and Spike didn't get to talk with his mom or aunt. They didn't even say hello.
A few hours had pasted and the main six were still at the castle and Spike had kept getting them drinks and snacks whenever they wanted them. Spike barely had time to sit down and talk with them because Twilight kept giving him chores to do even though he had done most of the work for the day.
Finally after all he got everything he had to do over with he sat down and relaxed. He had just got a new comic and finally had some time to read it but then his stomach made a loud growl and then he realized he hadn't eaten anything yet because he kept serving Twilights friends.
Spike had went downstairs and saw that everypony had left and Twilight was saying goodbye to them. Spike then walked to the kitchen and was about to eat some gems he had left for a snack but then Twilight came in and said. " Spike its to late to have a snack its 9:30 you need to get to bed mister" she said as she picked him up with her magic.
Spike tried to tell twilight that he hadn't eaten anything yet but every time he started to say something Twilight interrupted him and said " You need your sleep your a baby Dragon and besides you can't be up this late eating a snack".
Twilight had put Spike in his room and closed the door. Spike didn't even bother to try again he knew twilight would just throw him back in his room. He was getting so angry at Twilight he was sick of doing all of the work in the castle. He didn't even get a thank you from Twilights friends or Twilights guy or the Princesses hey all just thanked twilight for having them over and left not caring that Spike never got to talk to his so called "friend".
Spike was mad twilight not only made him work the whole night but didn't even let him eat anything. And if she had listened to him and let him explain why he was eating something this wouldn't even have happened.
Spike was furious, Twilight was no longer somepony who cared for spike or was Spikes friend. She was just somepony that didn't car about his feelings or his well being. Just like all of his other friends.
Spike decided he had enough. He wasn't gonna be treated like a slave anymore he knew this was never gonna change so he could only do one thing now..... leave. Spike wasn't gonna leave a note he new Twilight was gonna look for him even if he left an ore so it wouldn't matter.
Spike got up when he didn't hear anyone outside his door. He carfully made his way to the main lobby. When he was about to open the door to leave he looked behind him when he heard a snore. When he turned around Twilight was asleep on the crystal couch look at a book while drool was coming out of her mouth. Spike now went over to Twilight to see her for the last time and saw what Twilight was reading.
It was a book that was marked memeories. Spike never knew Twilight had a book of memories. He slowly took the book away from twilight and flipped through the pages. He saw pictures with Twilight and her brother together. He also saw many picture of when him and Twilight were younger and started to not even remember why he was gonna leave in the first place.
As he went through the book he got to the point were Twilight and him first arrived at ponyville. He started going further and further through the book and saw less and less of himself and say more of twilight new friends. He saw when they went to cloudsdale, Twilights birthday party and many more things until he went through the whole book and at the end there was a picture of today.
It was Twilight and her friends with the princesses and smiling and talking at the dinner table while Spike was nowhere to be scene.
Spike started to remember again why he was going to leave his anger almost caused him to slam the book on the ground but luckily he remembered Twilight was sleeping and put it down gently.
Spike had a cold look in his eyes one of pure sadness. Spike made his decision then and there.
He turned around and went to the door only to push it open a little making a small creaking noise. He looked over to Twilight to see she was still sleeping. He opened the door slightly more just so he could fit through it. He then closed the door behind him and went out of the Castle.
Spike was unsure of what to do now he had been with Twilight or his mo- Princess Celestia. He had never been on his own before. But hen a thought came to his mind. He had a strange dream that was in the everfree with a strange mare. But he never found out more about it.
The only place he could go was the everfree. But he knew there were many things hiding in there at night. He decided to take his chances and see if he could find the castle of the two sister in there by morning but right now he needed to find a place to stay the night.
As he was walking the streets of ponyville he ended up making his way to the park. He could sleep there but someone might find him and bring him back to Twilight. As Spike went around town looking for a place to sleep he couldn't find anything. Going to his "friends" houses were out of the question and the CMC clubhouse was also. He didn't want to be caught early in the morning before he woke up.
So the only place he could go was the everfree. So he started towards the dangerous forest. As he approached it he couldn't help but feel scared because of how creepy it looked at night. As he made his way into the depths of the forest he could hear creatures lurking about but none seemed to spot him. A Timberwolf even pasted by him even though it looked straight at him. Spike didn't understand why they didn't attack.
As Spike kept going he ended up at the castle of the two sisters. He found a room with some sheets that would keep him warm from the night as he got ready to sleep one question still plagued his mind........ who was that mare.

Well this chapter I think I did very well and I hope you enjoyed it please leave a comment to help me out because I could really use some tips.
Spike had woken up feeling more relaxed and well then he had ever felt before. He had never been able to sleep in so late because of Twilight always waking him up so early because of her princess dutys or her stupid study's. but he didn't have to deal with that anymore he was by himself now and he could do what he wanted. He was no longer Twilights assistant or pet or slave, whatever you wanted to call it. No more twilight no more insults nothing just him.
As spike got up he heard his stomach growl. In hindsight he should have brought something to eat. spike walked over to the door and pushed it open, making a loud freaking noise that echoed through the castle. As spike looked around he ended up outside and found some berries he could eat it wasn't much but it would be fine for now. As spike continued through the castle he saw a door that was open he decided to see what was there. He opened the door and saw that it was the kitchen. As he looked through all the supply's he started to think about the mare in his dream again.
He had meet her at the tree of harmony maybe she would be there and spike could find out more about her and see what she wanted.
As he walked out the door he couldn't help but notice a shadow move he second he walked out the door. As he continued through the castle he continuously looked around him to see if he was being trailed. He was able to catch a glimpse of something moving every once in a while but not enough of a look to see something distinctively.
As spike continued through out the castle he made it to the main door where he had came in from. As he pushed the door open he looked into the forest he did not remember the exact lookation of the tree but he knew the general direction of it.
As he went into the forest he made sure to stay in bushes and trees to make sure he was undetected by any timberwolves or other monsters of the everfree forest.
As he made his way through the forest he had finally reached the tree of harmony he stared at looking at its crystal beauty. But then remembered why he was here. He looked around the tree swing if he could find anything about the dream he had. He looked behind the tree and saw a book. When he aproched it he saw the cover it was a flame that was all black with horns on both sides of it. It was titled dark magic.
Spike was very surprised. He had never seen a book on dark magic before. Twilights guy even said Celestia destroyed all of them. He was about to open the book when he heard a voice behind him.
"I see you found my book" it said.
Spike recognized the voice to be the mare from his dream. He turned around to look at her. Spike saw that she was a unicorn and she was wearing a cloak to cover the back side of her coat. He looked at her intently see what she was going to do.
After about a full 30 seconds she said"I know you know who I am spike and I also know what your "friends" have done to you.
Spike heard hear put a lot of disgust into the word friends. Spike asked "How do you know who I am?"
She said "oh I've been watching you for a very long time spike, I've seen what twilights and her friends have done to you and I want to help you".
Spike was surprised he had just meet this mare and he still didn't know anything about her but for some reason she wanted to help him. Spike was utterly confused.
Spike thought about what she said and then looked at the book. She said it was hers. Was she a dark magic user?
Spike turned back around to the nose of hoovesteps coming towards him. He looked at the mare as she was slowly walking towards him. Spike felt worry in his gut afraid she was gonna do something to him. But as she got closer she stoped about 2 feet away from him.
Spike decided to ask her something so he said." How do you know who I am and what do you mean you want to help me? He asked in a confused tone.
She stepped a little closer enough for spike to see more details about her. She had dark blue stripes in her hair and her horn was also dark blue on the tip.
She responded to his question and said" I've been watching you spike I've seen you been bullied and pushed aside and what I want to do" she giggled a little " I want to help you".
Spike looked at her entently he said " How are you gonna help me I don't even know who you are".
" I know you don't trust me spike especially since you don't know who I am so why don't I introduce myself. My name is misty and as you saw on the book behind you I study dark magic and I know what your thinking am I like sombra but I can assure you I'm not.
As she finished saying that spike felt a little more comfortable with the mare. He looked at the book behind him and grabbed it he turned back around to see that misty moved a little closer to him and he handed it to her.
"This is your right" he said.
Then misty nodded her head and said yes that's mine.
Spike had another question in his head as he kept looking at the misty.
He asked "were you the one following me I the castle of he two sisters.
She looked at him surprised and said " yes that was me but I was only following you because I wanted to see what you were doing.
Spike was about to response when he heard someone shout from a distance."SPIKE, SPIKE WERE ARE YOU"
He looked out to the everfree and said " that sounded like Twilight" he looked at misty who looked back at him.
Misty put the book in a satchel she had under her cloak. She then turned around and was about to focuse her magic when she realized spike would be caught by twilight if she didn't help.
Spike kept looking toward the everfree forest scared that twilight might find him and ruin everything he was trying to do.
" I can help you if you trust me spike" misty said as spike turned around to look at her.
He was at a crossroad here. He could go with misty and see how she could help him but he had just met most and she used dark magic which scared spike a little. On the other end if spike were to stay and run he would most likely be caught by twilight and put back into slavery.
To spike there was only one choice. He turned around to misty and said in a determined voice "I trust you"
Misty looked at him with happynesa and said" great just watch for twilight and I'll get a portal open don't worry spike I promise you'll never be used or bullied as long as I'm around". Then she turned around and started focusing her magic again.
Spike had turned back around but noticed that he could start to hear other voices to. He made them out to be twilight friends also looking for him. They started getting closer. Spike turned around to misty and said " running out of time misty almost done"?
"Hold on just a couple more seconds she said" while grunting.
Spike saw as all portal start to open and expand as Misties horn started to glow brighter. Suddenly the portal gave off a flash before appearing to be stable. Spike looked at it scared for his safety then looked at misty to see her giving a warm smile before saying it's fine I'll go first just make sure to come In before twilight and her friends get here. Spike nodded and then misty walk into the portal making it flash.
Spike was about to walk in when he heard a voice behind him "Spike?" He looked behind him to see rainbow dash looking at him confused about what he was doing.
Some started to back up getting close to the portal. He had to leave now before the rest of the main 6 got there. He looked at rainbow then back at the portal.
"Spike what do you think your doing everypony misses you why did you leave?" rainbow said
Spike didn't have time for this he turned around and walked to the portal he heard clapping noises and turned to the noise to see rainbow with a determined look on her face flying straight towards spike. Spike ran into the portal and ended up seeing he was in a small room. He looked back at the portal still seeing rainbow flying straight towards him he was about to run when the portal closed in a instant.
Spike let out a sigh of relief. He felt something rest on his shoulder he turned his head to see misty putting a hold on his shouder. She said " told you I would have your back" she giggled.
Spike looked into her eyes and saw that she meant everything she said before. He a got up and looked back at the wall to see the portal was gone it was just a wall now. He looked around the room to see he was in what appeared to be a library with red and black carpets and furniture. Spike turned to misty who was approching a door that seemed to lead out to a hallway.
Spike was about to ask a question but misty started talking. " This is my home spike I hope it can be yours for now to. And I know you probably have many questions Spike but evey thing will be answered in due time but for right now how about we settle down I think you might be hungry" she said
As if on que spikes stomatch started to rumble he blushed and looked away embarrassed. Misty giggled and said it's fine spike I'm hungry to follow me I'll show you around and we'll eat something. As she headed out the door spike followed. Right when he got to he doorway he looked back at the wall were the portal was. He had a new friend and a new life.

This chapter took a lot longer the Expected but it came out so hope you enjoy. Next chapter will be about twilight and the main six.
Searching
(7 hours after spike left)
It was exactly 7 am. Celestia's morning sun was shining into the room of Princess Twilight sparkle. When Twilight had come home she had the best time with everypony coming over she had so much fun hanging out with her friends and the Princesses. It was one of the only times she had all of her friends over for quite some time and she enjoyed every second of it.
She had slept peacefully that night dreaming about her and her friends doing the same thing over and over but something seemed off. She had done the same thing in every dream. She talked with her friends laughed and smiled but in every dream she had something knawing at her. As if she forgot about something. She still had no idea what it was until she saw Spike in the kitchen making food and serving everything to her friends. She thought that he was happy and just being helpful but she didn't notice the small tears in his eyes every time he passes by her.
Twilight awoke in the middle of her dream when Celestias sun was staring to shine on her eyes. She slowly got out of bed and made her way to the door. She had finally got some well deserved rest. She was always so tired thanks to her princess duties and was never able to get a good night sleep because she was always thinking about wha to do as a princess. But she finally realized everything. She was a princess with her friends by her side. She wasn't alone. She was prepared for anything especially when her friends were with her.
Twilight woke up and realized she wasn't on the couch anymore she was back In her bed. Starlight or spike must have put her back to bed. She ended up falling dead asleep as she was looking at her memories book. She felt very happy seeing all the pictures of her and her friends accomplishments from the defeat of nightmare moon all the way to Starlight being reformed.
Twilight made her way to the kitchen and saw that there were a couple still left in her study. She decided to leave them there and let spike take care of them. Besides she needed to get ready she had a spa date with Rarity today.
Twilight made her way to the kitchen to see if spike was there cooking something. But to her suprise no one was there. She needed to eat something before she left so she just grabbed some cereal and ate. While she was grabbing the cereal she noticed a note on the counter.
It said" I'm going out to grab some groceries and some other things he back in a bit from Starlight".
Twilight read he note then all her worry began to fade. She figured Spike and Starlight would have been out since they weren't at the castle this morning. So she made her way to the entrance of the castle and left.

"Ok good bye darling see you soon". Rarity said as Twilight left the boutique.
Twilight had a wonderful time with Rarity at the spa. She felt so relaxed. She and Rarity had talked about a lot of gossip during here spa day. As she was trotting back to her castle she saw Starlight talking to Rainbow and Fluttershy.
Twilight decided to meet up with them and see what they were talking about. As Twilights gut aproched them she started to hear what they were talking about.
"So I ended up getting scolded by another ponies because of the spell I casted". She heard Starlight say as she aproched them.
Then they all started laughing. After they finished laughing they noticed that Twilight had arrived.
"Hey Twilight" they all said in unison.
"Hey guys" Twilight said "Whatcha up to".
"Nothing much just hanging out, Applejack asked for some help at the orchard but then we bumped into Starlight and started talking". Rainbow said
"Yup I needed some help at the farm so I asked Rainbow if she could lend a hoof" said applejack.
"And I just finished shopping and was about to come back to the castle" Said Starlight.
"Oh ya Starlight I saw your note and I wish you would have just told me you were leaving instead of leaving a note" Said Twilight
"Sorry but I thought you would want to sleep in since you fell asleep on the sofa" said Starlight.
"Well it's fine but next time please tell me ok" said twilight.
"Alright I will" said Starlight.
Applejack and Rainbow were already talking about something else when Twilight realized Spike wasn't with Starlight at the moment.
So she asked "Hey Starlight where's spike?"
Starlight looked at Twilights gut confused." What are you talking about Twilight I didn't bring spike with me".
Twilight looked confused as well." What do you mean I thought he was with you".
"No I didn't bring him with me I left by myself this morning to just pick up some groceries" Said Starlight.
"Well were would he be?" Twilight said now getting worried.
"Well let's look around maybe spike is around somewhere I'm sure he's here" said Starlight in a reassuring tone.
"What are y'all talking about" said Applejack as she and Rainbow trotted over to were they were talking.
"I thought Spike was with Starlight but he isn't so I don't know were he is" said Twilight.
"Let's look around town I'm sure we'll find the little guy" said Rainbow
(About 30 minutes later)
Rainbow was flying all across Ponyville asking ponys if they saw Spike. There was no luck. No pony had seen spike all day not even the cutie mark crusaders. The mane six and the CMC had all looked across ponyville.
"Where is he I've flown everywhere and I still can't find him" said Rainbow in a very frustrated tone.
"I don't know Rainbow but he's got to be somewhere" said Applejack.
"You don't think he went into the everfree forest or the badlands do you?" Said Fluttershy in her quiet voice.
"I don't know but we need to check at least I have no idea why he left" said Twilight.
"Oh I hope my poor Spikey Wikey is ok" said Rarity.
"Alright we should start searching the everfree but remember we need to stick together" said Twlilight.
Twilight, Rainbow, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy made there way to the everfree forest while Applejack brought the CMC home. As much as they wanted to help Spike it was to dangerous for them.
As the mane six proceeded through He everfree they all decided to slit into groups to cover more ground. They had not choice it was starting to get dark.
Rainbow and Fluttershy were a group and started to search over by the tree of harmony.
"SPIKE SPIKE WHERE ARE YOU" said Rainbow.
"Uh spike where are you" said Fluttershy scared that something other than spike might hear her.
"Come on flutter he louder I'm sure we will find him somewhere" said Rainbow trying to give Fluttershy some confidence.
"Hey Fluttershy why don't you see if you can find any animals to talk to. I'm gonna go look around some more. Meet me at the tree of harmony ok?" Said Rainbow.
"ok just be careful" said Fluttershy.
"Don't worry nothing can stop Rainbow Dash fastest pony in Equestria" said Rainbow full of herself like always.
"Ok Rainbow just.... be careful alright" said Fluttershy.
"Don't worry flutters I'll be fine" said Rainbow as she began to fly off.
Rainbow dash made her way to the tree of harmony she looked around to make sure Spike wasn't there but then she heard talking. She couldn't make out who was talking but she know it was coming from inside the cave where the tree is.
then saw a flash come from the cave. She decided to look into the cave to see if anyone was there. She couldn't believe it. Spike was there standing next to some kind of portal. It was black and red. He looked like he was about to jump in it.
Rainbow quickly entered and called Spikes name afraid he was going to jump into the portal. He looked over his shoulder. They locked eyes for a second before spike took a step back. He looked scared Rainbow thought he was scared of the portal but she saw the look in his eyes he was scared of her.
Why would spike be scared of me? She thought. She kept her eyes on spike. He too another step back. He was right next to the portal now. Rainbow acting only on instinct started flying straight towards him afraid he was going to go into the portal. He did and the second she got to the portal it closed. Rainbow was confused to say the least. Spike was missing all morning and she had just saw him jump into a mysterious portal. Why?
Fluttershy had just come into the cave where dash was. She saw dash looking at the end of the cave wall.
"Um Rainbow" she said.
Rainbow turned around when she heard Fluttershys voice. Rainbow dash went up to her and said " I saw spike".
Fluttershy looked surprised. She didn't actually think spike was going to be out here. She thought they just couldn't find him in town.
"Are you sure it was him" said Fluttershy.
"Yes im one hundred percent sure. He looked at me when I said his name" said rainbow.
"Let's go meet with the others the sun has started to go down and we weee supposed to meet with them by now" said Fluttershy.
Fluttershy and Rainbow made there way out of the everfree forest where they met up with The rest of the mane six.
Rainbow explained to Twilight and the others about what she saw. Everyone but Fluttershy and Rainbow where shocked they didn't know what to do now. Twilight had just thought spike got lost or was getting something from seconds but no. From what Rainbow said he went into the portal willingly.
"Well now what" everypony turned to look at Applejack who spoke.
Everypony looked uncomfortable for different reason. No one knew what to do now.
But then Twilight spoke up " I think I know". Everypony turned to Twilight. " I think the best thing to do now is go to the princesses and find out anything we can".
"We'll leave tomorrow morning is that ok with everypony?" Twilight asked looked to her friends.
They all nodded there heads and went back to there own homes. Twilight would have to inform Starlight about what happend to Spike. And that she would leave with them tomorrow. Twilight had a lot to think about.

Spike was happy to say the least. Happy is an understatement he was.......well he was joyful you could say. Mystic had done nothing but be nice to him. He gave him food a place to sleep and she even called him a friend. The only ponies he could really call his friends in ponyville were the CMC and Starlight. They both never did anything wrong to spike. At least Starlight didn't. Before the CMC got there cutie marks they would constantly beg Spike to help them with getting there Dragon cutie marks. It was annoying but it was all in good fun.
Some quickly got used to Misty using dark magic. It wasn't something he was afraid of because he saw who Misty really was. I very nice and beautiful mare who...... wait what. It is true Spike did start to have a crush on Misty but he only started to form one because she was very nice.
He base gotten over rarity a very long time ago and was actually just trying to be a nice friend to Rarity. But that still didn't help the fact that he knew she used to us his feelings for free labor. Misty was a very good friends and spike would help her anyway he could. She was nice and fun to hang out with.
But he still didn't know all about her.
Spike walked into the study room where she saw Misty reading one of her dark magic books. In a way she was like Twilight but less total meltdown when the ink goes missing.
"Hey Misty" Spike said as he aproched her.
"Oh hello Spike I'm just studying is there anything you need?" She looked up from her book and looked and Spike.
"No I'm fine just wanted to see what you were doing" Spike said as he sat next to her.
"Oh ok" she said as she looked back to her book.
"Misty I dont know if this is a bad time to ask but I kind of want to know about your past and everything. You never really told me how you got into the whole dark magic thing". Spike said with a hint of interest.
Misty looked up from her book and sighed. "I knew you would want to know about that Spike. Well if you want to hear about my past i suggest you sit down and get comfy because this is a long story".
Spike sat on the ground next to her and was prepared to listen to the story.
It wasn't just the story of Mistys life it was a story of how misty became Misty and Spike would hear every second of it.

Ok I'm sorry this took so long to finish a couple things got in the way but it's done now. Exit chapter I'm going to tell the tale of Misty.(BTW I decided to make misty a OC instead of a cannon character redisign because I think it gives her more depth on the way I present her to the story.

"Where to begin" Misty said thinking to herself.
Spike looked st her very eager to learn about the new friends he made. He was so interested in her. She was kind, funny, pretty and smart. But still Spike didn't know much about her. He wanted to know more.
" I suppose I should begin on the happiest day of my life" said Misty
(184 years before Nightmare moons return)
A filly walked through the halls of the School for gifted unicorns. She had a grey coat with a black and blue striped mane. She had the biggest smile on her face. She had passed the test to get into the school and her magical ability broke the schools record. Not only was she able to lift the egg in the exam she hatched it as well giving birth to a little baby dragon.
The judges were shocked seeing egg hatch. Not many ponies heard of a filly hatching a dragon. Celestia was immediately told and was brought to the young filly who went by the name of Mist Shadow. Celestia had seen the he potential in the filly and decided to train her personally. She should her basic magic advanced spells and even taught her about politics at one point.
The school luckily had a program for the little hatchling so it would be returned to its dragon parents.
10 years later Mist was 18 and her curiosity had been at its full. She wanted to know everything about magic and always looked up to Celestia for guidance. She wanted to master magic and make Equestria a better place so it was safe. She was Determined, curious, and always trusted Celestia.
Mist was in the Canterlot library. She was reading a book on Shield and projection spells. She had read this book multiple times but she strived to be perfect. When she had finally perfected the spell she tested it. Her horn had a red aurora that began to get brighter and brighter until she released it. She ha dot close her eyes because of the amount of light. When she opened them she saw 10 of herself standing in front of her. They had blank faces. She took a step closer to one of them and reached her hoove to touch it. To her enjoyment her hoove went right through it and the image of her made a static noise. And the image of her was dissipating.
She understood the spell quite well and now that she perfected it she could enhance it to make it better.
She looked out the window to see Celestias sun was starting to set. She didn't realize how long she was practicing that spell for. As she was putting a book back she couldn't help but notice, a book two shelfs above her was leaning off of the shelf. She thought somepony may have not put it in the right place or didn't put it back in the shelf.
She picked the book up with her magic and brought it for her to see it. The cover of the book was a horn with a red aurora surrounding it with green wisps going all around the horn. The book title was Dark Magic.
Mist had heard of dark magic before but never being in a book. If this book was here she would have know. She had been up and down this library a million times and had never seen this book before. She decided to check it out. She looked at the back of the cover to see nothing but the black hard cover that surrounded the book.
She saw there was no label saying that the book had belonged to the library. Now her curiosity was even higher. She took the book and put it in her satchel with some other books she picked up. She proceeded to the counter were a old mare was looking through books. She had a name tag that said Sunny. She was a yellow coat mare with a sun behind a library book that was open.
Mist walked up to her and took the books out of her satchel and pad them out on the desk. The sudden noise of something hitting a table brought Sunnys attention to Mist who was smiling at her with about ten books on the desk in front of her.
She couldn't help but giggle at Mist remembering her all to well. She was here almost every day checking out and returning books to the Canterlot library. She was know as the book worm in town but she still kept a social life by meeting new people around town.
"Hi sunny I'm just her to check out these books" Misty said.
"Alright I'll check them out for you" said Sunny. She turned around and started scanning the books with her magic. Once she finished she put all the books back onto the desk and and smiled at Mist.
"Alright your good to go" said Sunny
"Have a nice day Mist hope you get home safe" Said Sunny
"Thanks you to" Mist said as she opened the door and left the library.
(About 20 minutes later)
Mist had arrived at her house and went inside with her books and placed them on the table. She took the book in her satchel and looked at it intrigued. She went over to her kitchen and made a salad. She at it and went to her living room taking the book with her. She sat on her couch and began to read.
The beginning of the book had no author or table of contents. She turned to the next page and saw many spells lined up on the page. But when she tried to do the spell nothing happened. She tried and tried but every time nothing happened. She looked through the page and saw something on the top left corner.
She was intrigued and next to the sentence was a spell with no name. She studied the spell and made sure she had everything right. She closed her eyes and focused she felt her horn being wrapped in a strange magic source. She felt her head become much more clear. It felt strange she couldn't describe it she felt stronger as if she could lift a city and be fine.
As her horn grew brighter so did her curiosity. Suddenly she opened her eyes and they had green mist coming out of them. Then they flashed back to normal. It repeated for almost a full 30 seconds before her eyes returned to normal.
She blinked for a couple of seconds before looking back to the book. She saw the spells much differently. They didn't change in the book but in her mind she saw them much more clearly.
For the entirety of the night she studied and tested the spells. It was amazing, she found a all new world of magic that she had the chance to learn. She stayed up all night and passed out from exhaustion .
She woke up still on the couch with the book still wide open. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. Then looked back at the book and closed it. She took it over to her basment were she had her own personal library. She put the book on a desk and went back upstairs. She had some cereal for breakfast and after she was done she heard a knock on the door. She went over to it to see a guard standing at the door.
The guard spoke " Mist Shadow I am here to inform you that princess Celestia is waiting for you in her study room".
Shock and embarrassment rushed to her head as she remembered she was supposed to meet up with the princess today for some studying and practice. She had not even seen the princess in some time. She would talk to her and visit but the princess was always busy. But Mist had moved on and was spending time with new ponies around canterlot. She had quite the group of friends. But It was still nice to see the princess every once in a while.
"Oh of course let me grab my satchel" she said as she ran to her kitchen table and grabbed her satchel that had a couple of books in it.
Misty and the guard made there way to Canterlot castle. Then the guard led her to where Princess Celestia was. She was sitting on a couch reading a book that had a crystal bubble on the cover labeled shield spells.
She smiled greeting Celestia and thanking the guard.
"Misty it is good to see you again it has been some time since our last get together" said Celestia
"Of course what will we be learning today princess" said Misty
Celestia giggled remembering Misty exitment of studying.
"Well my student today we will be......"

Misty was saying goodbye to Celestia as she was trotting out the door. She had a wonderful time learning from Celestia about shields and protection spells but she had learned a lot about them in the book she had read last night. She was deciding if she should tell Celestia about the book she had found but she decided not to because she wanted to surprise her.
She returned to her home and ate lunch she had a wonderful time with Celestia and wanted to relax but something in the back of her head told her to keep reading the book she found. As she went downstairs she Saw the book was floating wide open and pages were being flipped by a unknown source. She watched in awe as the book just sat there levitating.
She moved down the stairs but they made a creaking noise and he book instantly shut. She trotted over to it and looked at it with her magic. She opened it only to see a green line under one of the spells on the first page. She looked at the spell it read "Dark magic element summon" warning this will requires high amounts of magic and is dangerous. She was going to close the book and leave the spell there but the green line became even brighter.
Something or someone wanted her to preform this spell. She debated it for a while and decided to preform the spell.
She closed her eyes and focused remembering he spell in her mind and started to preform it. Her horn Began to grow bright. It kept glowing until she realized which knocked her back against the wall. She rubbed her head with a hoove moaned in pain as she started to open her eyes. When she opened them she couldn't believe what she saw.
Now where she was standing a black liquid was floating that was almost the size of her. It was floating in circular motion in place. She slowly trotted forward nearing the strange liquid. She observed it circling around it. She grabbed a flask from a chemistry set she had and scooped a little into it. She the put the rest of it into a see through bucket.
She took the flask and examined it shacking and stirring it to see if something would happen to it. Nothing did. She had a idea and put some raw magic into a large cauldron. Raw magic wasn't very easy to produce and when a unicorn would make raw magic they would definitely be very tired. But as misty was producing raw magic into the pot she felt perfectly fine she wasn't getting tired at all.
After about 15 seconds she opened her eyes to see that the large cauldron was filled. She was surprised maybe that spell she used made her more resistant?
After she filled up the cauldron she took the flask and poured some of it into the cauldron. It sank to the bottom before all of the raw magic began the become black. As that was left was the black liquid in the cauldron no more raw magic. It was amazing the black substance was able to transform raw magic into its own material. She knew how to make more of the substance but she still wanted to find out more.
She wanted to test one more thing before finishing her work. She took some of the liquid back into the flask and began to preform a simple shield spell the would put up a shield in front of her.
The shield appeared in front of Misty and she threw the contents of the flask on the shield. It soaked it for a couple of seconds before spreading through the whole shield. It was covered in the liquid. Then the black liquid began to dissipate. After all the black liquid was gone and the shield was back to its original state. But Misty could see that it looked slightly darker and had a weird shimmer on it.
Misty tested the barrier for any difference. She ran a statistic spell to see if there were any changes. She was shocked to see that not only was the shield more durable but it appeared to be bigger. The spell she used to construct the shield was only supposed to make a shield durable for a small blast but now the shield could withstand a nuke and more.
Misty had the biggest smile on her face. She found out how to make more of the substance and she new what it did. It could enhance spells and make them better. She had never heard of any type of magic or spell being able to do that. She had just discovered somthing that could change equestria forever.
Months went by and misty was able to test the liquid on all sorts of spells. They all had a different affect with the black liquid. Some detection spells had there radius expand. Some beam spells that would just fire a low power beam could now put holes in stone walls. Even physical objects like swords were enhanced. A regular dull sword could be turned into a sturdy and sharper sword that could slice a whole tree in half.
But while she had spend almost a whole year reasearching and documenting she had not seen Celestia or her friends for most of that time. They were getting worried about her and every time they asked what she was up to she just said studying.
Celestia was not one for liking secrets and had went to Misty with some guards to find out. Celestia was not one to be forceful but mistys lake of being outside and communicating worried her.
She came to her house and had asked what she had been studying and why she hadn't talked to her In quite some time.
"I decided to tell her, I was so exited I thought she would be happy but..... she wasn't" Misty said as small tears formed in her eyes.
She suddenly felt something warm touch her side and turned to see spike giving her a hug.
"If you aren't comfortable talking about it than that's fine" he said in a sincere tone.
"No, no it's fine" Misty said. She sighed and continued.
I thought Celestia would be happy that I found this new magic. But I was very wrong. I had shown her the dark magic element that I was able to control. I showed her how it worked and what it did. But the whole time I was showing her she didn't say a word she just looked at me with a blank face. After I had finished showing her everything she looked at me with a angry expression. I thought she would be happy with what i discovered but she wasn't.
She looked at me with eyes of angry and whispered something to herself I couldn't make out what it was but what happened next changed everything. The guards came behind me and slipped a ring on my horn. I thought they were attacking me so I tried to charge up my horn. It didn't work. I realized they had put a inhibitor ring on my horn to stop magic flow. They tied my forehooves and one guard watched me whil Celestia told the other to watch the door.
I was shocked why was Celestia letting them put cuffs on me. She then looked at me with a cold glare and proceeded down the stairs to my " laboratory". I watched her as she walked down the stairs.
As I sat there being watched, I saw the guard had the keys to my cuffs so when he moved to the left side of me I tripped him with a hoove and he fell to the ground rubbing his head. Luckily they hadn't tied my backhooves to anything. So I was able to get up and knock him out with a hit to the head. I grabbed the keys and unlocked my cuffs. I then got the inhibitor ring off my head.
I then started to smell smoke. I didn't know where it was coming from until I got to the basement stairs where my fears became true. Celestia was burning my research. I ran down the stairs as fast as I could only to see books tables and shelfs in fire. Things were collapsing it was chaos.
I spotted Celestia firing a beam at a chamber where I kept most of the Dark magic liquid. She destroyed all of it. I began to feel tears form in my eyes. All the work I had done was destroyed in a instant I looked around me to just see more fire around me. Everything was burning.
Misty looked into the fire to see Celestia again looking back at her she had a blank expression showing no emotion. Mistys sadness turned into angry as she stared at Celestia. She got on her hooves and fired a beam at Celestia. She put up a barrier and blocked it. Still no expression on her face.
Misty anger suddenly rose to limits she had never been to. Her eyes turned green and her pupils red as blood mist began to come out of them. He horn had a red aurora coming off of it. Celestia face turned from blank to shock seeing her student controlling dark magic.
She herself lite her horn as well getting ready for anything. Misty fired first letting a giant beam release from her horn going at a tremendous speed. Celestia fired her own beam that seemed to be much smaller. The beams clashed energy could be seen coming off from each beam.
As both Unicom and alicorn kept there beams going Celestia could be seen sweating. Trying to keep her beam from being overpowered. Misty was relentless having her beam staring to push against Celestias. It got to the point where Celestia was just struggling to match Misty power.
Then..... Celestia was hit. Misty had overwhelmed her in power which was unheard of by many ponies. Even Misty herself couldn't believe she beat Celestia in a magic duel. As Celestia fell to the ground a small smile appeared on Misty's face as she approached the downed Celestia. She was now standing over a huffing Celestia and was about to finish her off when suddenly she felt lightheaded.
Her eyes turned back to there original color and her horn stopped spouting out its red aurora. She put a hoove to her head closing her eyes in pain. She slowly opened them back up to see in front of her a exhausted Celestia on the ground. She heard hoovesteps coming from the stairs. The royal guard outside must have called for back up she thought.
She quickly took one last look at Celestia and focused her magic. She then teleported right as the royal guards came downstairs and saw the beaten Celestia.
In a bright flash she was outside of Canterlot in a grassy field. She saw Canterlot to her left and dirt road to her right. Celestia would be looking for her absolutely. She would need to hide and get all of her reasearch back. She trotted on the dirt path. Not looking back to Canterlot. She could never have her old life back.
"After i followed the dirt path I ended up miles away from Canterlot and near a small town. It was ponyville. During the time it was barely a town. Buy night everypony in equestria would be looking for me. So I went to the only place I could. The Everfree Forest. I eventually made a home here and rebuilt all my research. I had a place to call home" she said while looking at spike.
Spike was shocked to say the least. He didn't expect that at all but now most of the blank questions in his mind where now answered. But one question still plagued his mind.
"Um Misty you said the story began 184 years ago if that's true why do you look so young and how are you still alive" Spike asked.
"Well Spike dark magic was something that could have positive and negative affects. I found out on my 30 Birthday. You see Spike I was using dark magic on a daily basis. It was like a was using regular magic. I would practice it everyday because I wanted to perfect it. I eventually realized that since I used it so much it became a part of me. It was now my main source of magic and it gave me my youth. I realized this when I didn't age in the slitiest. I didn't look older at all. So dark magic changed me forever. It was as if I was compatible with it. It has never harmed me in any way." She said.
Spike sat there taking in everything that she said. She had a very eventful life. But she seemed to be happy with it. Spike noticed small tears In her eyes. She had cried when she was talking about Celestias betrayal to her. But Spike wanted to comfort her.
He couldn't do much but he did what he could. He wrapped his small arms around her body and gave her a hug. At first she was to lost in thought to realize but when she felt his warmth she turned her attention to him. She hugged back, happy she had someone who she could trust and someone who she could talk to.

Spike had learned so much about Misty. He understood her much more than he did before. She had explained everything to him. And he sat there taking it all in. She had been through a lot but she stayed strong. After Spike comforted Misty. They both went there separate ways. Misty had gone to her research room while Spike went to his bedroom. Misty was nice enough to let Spike have his own room. He had a bed a bookshelf and his own desk to use for writing and reading. This was a lot just for him. He never had his own room before. All he had with Twilight was his basket. Even after she got her castle he just had a basket to sleep in.
He had confronted her about it but she kept changing the subject. Spike eventually gave up on it and stopped talking to Twilight about it.
When Spike got to his room. He sat on his bed thinking about what Misty said. He had been frightened by her when they first met but Spike had come to like her as a true friend. If Spike thought back to when he was with Twilight he could only remember a few ponies he could call friends. The CMC, Starlight,Zecora,Big Mac and possible Discord. He didn't really know how discord felt about him but he liked to hang out with him and Big Mac when we got together for some fun. But besides that he couldn't think of many others who he would consider a friend.
He knew many people around town but not very much about them. He would say hello when he saw them around town but thats about it.
As Spike was thinking he realized that he had been sitting on his bed for almost 30 minutes. He was so lost in thought he didn't realize the sun went down. He guessed it was about 6:30. Spike got off his bed and Left his room he then went down the hall. He had gotten to learn the layout of Mistys home pretty quickly. He memorized where everything was and he could navigate the structure easily now. As Spike went down the hall he took a quick right. He took another turn and saw he was at his destination. The kitchen.
It wasn't the biggest kitchen, but it was big enough. Spike had showed Misty his cooking skills and she was impressed. She loved his cooking and always thanked him for the meals he made.
He knew Twilight enjoyed his cooking but she never thanked him or even compilmented it. She would just sit at the dinner table and eat while either reading a book or talking to Starlight. She didn't really talk to him at dinner. She seemed to be to busy but apparently she wasn't to busy to go out with her friends and make Spike stay home with all the chores.
Epike went over to the counter and got a stool. He got some ingredients from the cupboards. He found some lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers. There wasn't much but he had enough to make a salad for Misty and he had some gems for himself. Spike quickly cut the the ingredients and placed them in a bowl. He mixed them around before grabbing two medium sized bowls and placing some salad in both.
He threw some gems in his for some extra flavor for himself. He could find more tomorrow and he would have to tell Misty that they needed more food. Spike placed the bowls on the dinner table with two forks next to them. He then left to go find Misty and tell her dinner was ready.
As he went through the halls trying to find where Misty was. He suddenly remembered that Misty said she was going to be in her laboratory or she would be in her personal library. He room was closed so he checked there first. She wasn't there but while looking in the room he couldn't help but notice a black gem sitting on top of a book. It shimmered when he looked at it.
He got a very uneasy felling while he looked at it. Deciding to leave it he made his way to Mistys laboratory.
Spike hadn't actually seen Mistys lab. She said that she only used the lab to test different spells of dark magic.
Spike knocked on the door of Mistys lab. He waited about thirty seconds before knocking again. Still no answer. "MISTY YOU IN THERE" Spike said no response. Could she not hear him. He opened the door to see if he could find her. When he entered the room he saw he was in a medium sized room. There were desks and bookshelfs that had books on them. Spike looked at a couple. Almost all of them talked about dark magic.
Nothing Spike saw stood out but he still couldn't find Misty. He saw a door near the back of the room. He made his way there and opened it. His eyes went wide. There three cauldrons filled with the black liquid all next to eachother. There were some in flasks that were filled with plain black liquid but others had a mix of either red or green in them.
A book was open next to the cauldrons. The title was "Dark Magic Element" and the book was opened to page twenty-one. The book wasn't huge but it wasn't small either. Spike believed it was about 80 pages long.
Spike grabbed a stool that was at one of the desks and brought it to the table with the book. He sat on it and looked to see what Misty was reading. The page had multiple spells written on it but the book seemed to old to read. Pages were ripped and it was very dusty. The page had 5 spells on it. But one spell stood out to Spike. It read " Dark magic construction spell". Spike didn't really know what that meant but he decided to leave the book where it was and continue to find Misty.
"Spike what are you doing in here?" Spike heard Misty'svoice behind him. He got off the stool looked to where the Mistys voice was coming from. She was looking at him with a surprised face.
"I was trying to find you" Spike said "I've been looking for you for about 10 minutes. I didn't know were you were. I knocked on he door but you didn't answer".
"Oh sorry about that I lost track of time while working. I'd don't hear you knock sorry about that" Misty said as she rubbed the back of her head.
"What is all this stuff any way?" Spike asked amazed at all of the dark magic Mistys had in this one room.
""Well like I said Spike, I study dark magic to see its affects. I want to perfect the magic so I can show people it's not harmful but it can help instead. I know I can prove Celestia wrong. Even if she thinks Dark magic is only evil" said Misty.
Spike stared at her curiously. She had studied this stuff for her whole life but did she know why Celestia hated it?
"Misty did you ever find out why Princess Celestia hated dark magic?" Spike asked her.
She opened her mouth to respond but nothing came out. She had a perplexed look on her face. "Uh no I actually never did know why. I always thought she believed it was evil."
"Misty have you ever heard of a pony named Sombra?" Spike asked.
Misty looked at him before responding."Once in a book but all it said was he was a expert on dark magic. Why would I need to know about Sombra?"
"Well have you ever heard of the crystal empire?" Spike asked.
"No I haven't" Misty said. "Spike why are you asking me all these questions?" She asked confused on what he was trying to tell her.
"Sigh well sit down because I got a story to tell you" Spike said.
(30 minutes later)
"Then Sombra was destroyed and the crystal empire was left in the hooves of Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. Then I returned with the girls to ponyville after we went back to Canterlot" Spike said finishing his story.
"So he was corrupted by dark magic? And you think that's why Princess Celestia was afraid of me" said Misty. She had listened to Spikes whole story. She never knew about Sombra or the Crystal empire.
"I believe so. When you told me about what Celestia did I started putting pieces together and understood her actions" Spike said answering Mistys questions.
"Wow I never knew" She looked back to the dark magic in the cauldrons rethinking everything that she has ever done.
"But you found a way to make dark magic safe. It can help ponies so much. But Celestia didn't see that. Hate blinded her from see the truth. She didn't trust you Misty so don't doubt yourself" Spike said reassuring her.
"Thank you Spike you really are a good friend" said Misty. She had small tears at the corner of her eyes. In a instant she jumped and hugged Spike. He was surprised at first but then he hugged back.
"The real reason I was looking for you was because I made dinner, so do you want to go eat?" Spike said.
Right after he said that a grumble came from Mistys stomach. "Ya I think that sounds good" Mistys said. They both laughed before leaving the lab to go eat.
(6 hours later)
Spike and Misty had ate dinner and gone to bed. Misty said she would go to town tomorrow leaving Spike alone but just for a few hours. They had talked a lot mostly about there pasts and Spike may have learned a couple more things about Misty. Like she felt alone almost all the time before she meet Spike but now she had a true friend she could talk to.
Sleep would not take Spike this night. He could not sleep because he couldn't stop thinking. He thought about Misty she had done nothing but help him. But why. She was nice caring and always looked out for Spike. She was like the older sister Spike always wanted.
Spike got out of bed and opened his door. He went down the hall to the kitchen. He grabbed some water and drank it. As he was walking back to his room he heard something. He couldn't make out what it was. So he went in the direction of the noise.
When he got close he saw a door with light coming from it. He approached it and saw it was the Mistys library. When he got close to the door he pushed it open slightly to glance inside. What he saw shattered his heart. Misty was sitting on the ground crying a both her front hooves over her eyes. There was a book under her but he couldn't see it all that well.
Questions rushed through Spikes head. Why was she crying? What was she reading? Was he book the cause of her sadness?
Suddenly the door opened more and made a creaking noise. Misty must of heard it because she turned her head and looked directly at Spike. Her eyes were read and puffy from all the crying. Her front hooves looked soaked in water. The two stared at eachother for almost a full minute. The first to break the silence was Misty.
"S-S-Spike what a-are you doing here?" Misty said.
"I heard a noise and came to check what it was" Spike said. "M-Misty why are you crying?"
She turned her head away from him as if she was trying to avoid him.
"Misty were friends right? You can tell me" Spike asked trying to get her to talk to him.
40 seconds went by she still had her head turned away. Spike wishing not to disturb her anymore turned for the door. He grabbed the knob and was about to walk out when he heard Misty speak.
"W-w-wait please don't leave Spike" Misty said.
Spike turned back around locking eyes with her. He closed the door and steped closer to Misty. She motioned him over. He went over to her and sat down next to her.
"Misty why are you crying" Spike asked confused.
"Spike have you ever felt alone or unwanted even useless?" Mistys asked.
The question caught Spike off guard. He didn't know what to say at first but he came up with a answer.
"Yes I have. I used to feel like that every single day. My friends seemed to not need me. I've been alone for most of my life. I've been treated like a slave from the ones who I thought of as family" Spike said. He closed his eyes. Small tears formed.
"I've felt that same way before" Misty said. "Maybe not as much as you Spike but I understand the feeling.
Spike nodded. Misty took the book that she had and opened it. She showed Spike what was inside. There were pictures of Misty and Celestia. In every picture he saw they were both smiling. She turned the page. He saw another picture with her and Celestia. She was wearing a graduation uniform. And Celestia was smiling at her while giving her a scroll. This was her graduating day.
She flipped to the next page. Spike saw four ponies standing next to Misty. Two mares and two stallions. The first mare had a dark blue coat with a yellow mane, she was a Pegasus with a Tornado cutie mark. The second mare had a orange coat with a yellow mane, she was a Pegasus with a telescope cutie mark. One of the stallions had a brown coat with a white mane, he was a earth pony as well and he had a clipboard cutie mark. The last stallion had a red coat with a white mane, he was a earth pony with a tree stump cutie mark.
"These were my friends" Misty said. "They were like my family as well. I thought I could count on them for anything but I couldn't. When the royal guards put up a search sign for me I thought I could trust them. Turns out Celestia got to them first. I heard what she told them, she feed them lies and turned my own friend, my own family against me."
"She told them I had been corrupted by dark magic and I want the mare I once was. They tried to ask Celestia if I could return to normal. She didn't say anything and just left." Said Misty.
"After I had left Canterlot I tried to tell them that this was just a misunderstanding. But they didn't believe me. They called the royal guards and tried to get me arrested. So I ran, and I've never seen them since." She finished. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she looked back to Spike.
He was looking at the floor. His claw was balled up into a fist.
"I'm sorry Misty" he said " I didn't know. I've never been in that kind of situation. So I can't compare to you at all."
Misty looked into his eyes. They showed nothing but hatred but they weren't pointed towards anypony just the ground.
"But I've been through a lot as well possible even more" Spike said.
Something in Misty just snapped after she heard that.
"How have you been through more than me. I've been treated like a criminal for something I never truly understood for over 150 years I've been betrayed by the only 5 ponies I've ever cared about, how have YOU BEEN THROUGH MORE!" She said yelling at the end. Her heart rate had increased.
She started to calm down her heart rate slowing down to its normal pace. She realized what she did. She yelled at her friend her only friend. She thought the worst. 'What if he hates me now? He's the only friend I have and I just yelled at him'. She thought.
Spikes eyes were still focused on the floor. His gaze never shifted.
"Sigh Misty, do you know what it's like to be judged because of how you look?" Spike asked.
"I uh, no I don't" Misty said confused on what Spike was talking about.
"I do" Spike said. "I know what it's like to be judged because of appearance. I was a kid compared to all of my friends because of my height even though I was almost the same age as them. I was called a monster, a beast because of my instincts. I was even insulted and called a slave because of my SPECIES. DO YOU know what that's like Misty? To be put down to a level below a average pony just because of the way I look. Do you?"
Misty saw the hurt in Spikes eyes. She was wrong, he had been through more than her. Small tears formed in his eyes she had made her friend cry. She needed to make this right.
"No, I don't know what that's like Spike. I've never been treated like that before. I can't even come close to your pain, and I'm sorry. Im sorry that you had to go through all of that. And I'm sorry I yelled". Misty said. Spike could tell she meant every word.
He looked at her and she looked at him. Spike no longer had tears in his eyes.
"Misty you don't have to be sorry. I snapped to, we may have been through different situations but we both know what it's liked to be abondoned. So even if we fight you'll still always be my friend" Spike said. He moved closer to Misty and gave her a hug. She hugged back. Misty never knew Spike had been through so much.
"Alright I think I'm gonna go back to bed" Spike said. A yawn escaped his mouth. "I think you should to Misty". Spike headed towards the door. He turned the knob and was about to walk out when he heard Misty speak.
"Spike I, thank you. I'm glad I can talk to you about anything" Misty said she smiled at him.
"Well were friends aren't we" he smiled back.
Spike left closing the door leaving Misty to her thoughts.

This chapter is basically just to give more beckstody but I wanted to show how Misty and spike are more similar than you think.
Princess of Dreams
Spike took one last look at Misty before closing the door. He shut it slowly before turning around and walking back to his own room. He looked at a clock on the wall. It read 11:30. Spike was surprised. He was talking to Misty for quite a while.
He made his way back to his room. He got inside and got back in his bed. Within a few minutes sleep overtook him and he began to dream.
(Canterlot)
Luna was not happy. Scratch that she was furious. Tia had left her to watch over Canterlot for three whole days because there was a "incident at ponyville". She didn't even say goodbye. She received a letter from Twilight and a minute later she was saying she had to go to ponyville for a while. Luna didn't even have time to respond before Celestia just teleported to ponyville.
But luckily the first day was over. The sun began to set and Luna got ready to do her normal duties. Everypony was asleep. Except some of the Batpony guards around the castle.
Luna got into bed and began to enter the dream realm.
She opened her eyes to see she was in a long hallway filled with doors. The first thing she checked was to see if her sister was asleep. She wasn't, neither were any of the mane six.
Luna began to check ponies dreams to make sure they slept peacefully.
(About a hour later)
Luna had just finished visiting Pipsqueks dream. Luna was always happy when around the little pony. He was always happy just to see her. He was having a dream about being a royal nightguard by Luna's side. Luna knew the colt liked her, but she only saw him as a close friend. He was only a colt. Luna decided to bid him fair well so she could continue her duties.
Luna went back into the dream realm. It was one long hallway with many door on both sides. Luna continued down the hallway. None of the doors seemed to give off a dark aurora meaning no one was having a nightmare.
Luna went down the hallway until she spotted a door that had a lock on it.
But Luna had to do something this pony was clearly having a nightmare. She used her magic to break the lock on the door. The lock snapped off and vanished into nothing. Luna opened the door with her magic and walked inside. The first thing she saw was darkness.
She seemed to be in a room full of ...nothing. She continued to look hoping to find who's dream this was and the nightmare that was disturbing this pony. She continued her way deeper into the black void. Nothing seemed to be here.
She saw a light in the black void. It was bright, Luna had to cover her eyes. The light began to diminish and Luna looked to see what was causing it. What she saw shocked her.
There were rips in the void. They were all around. Luna looked to one and saw Twilight and her friends in the friendship castle. There was no noise but Luna could tell they were talking amongst eachother. Once they stopped they all got up and left. The rip sealed itself before turning back into darkness. Luna kept waking deeper seeing different scenarios of the mane six. From when Twilight was just a unicorn all the way to the defeat of Tirek.
Luna had guessed she was in Twilights conscious. All of these memories were of her and her friends. Luna noticed the rips in the darkness had stopped leaving nothing but a black void. She was back in darkness nothing and no one around.
Luna decided she had enough of the dark she lite her horn and light began to surround her. She could see she was standing on.... grass?
She expanded the light until it covered most of the area. She was in a grassy meadow. Everything was peaceful. Luna had never been in such a peaceful mind before. Everything was so calm. Luna noticed a figure sitting under a tree. It looked like a pony from a distance.
Luna began to walk towards the pony. She was a few meters away when she noticed that the pony wasn't a pony it was a dragon.
"Young Spike?" Luna said getting his attention.
Spike turned around and looked at Luna. He looked shocked and very surprised to see her.
"Luna? What are you doing here?" Spike asked.
"You appeared to be having a nightmare so I entered your dream." Luna said "but is see there is no Nightmare plaguing you this night". Luna turned her gaze away from Spike and looked back to the vast green plains Spike was dreaming about.
Luna was interrupted from her thoughts when Spike began to speak.
"I wasn't having a nightmare I assure you. I've just been thinking." He said.
Luna looked at the young dragon. He seemed so calm and relaxed. Luna had never seen a pony.... or dragon create such a peaceful subconscious. But Luna still knew something was wrong. She could feel Spikes emotions. He was in a state of deep thought and what appeared to be depression. This was a small perk Luna had she ever she was entering dreams. Since she entered there subconscious she could see there emotions and tell what was causing there dream without disturbing them.
"Spike you cannot lie to me. I can tell you are sad. Please, talk to me nephew." Luna said in a sincere tone. She did not call Spike Nephew in quite some time. Actually Luna couldn't remember when she had last talked to Spike. It must have been at least a couple of months maybe more.
Spike sighed." I haven't lied Aunt Luna but your right I am not in the best of moods".
Luna moved closer to Spike. She looked at him. His face had no emotions, he seemed lost in thought. Luna sat down next to him, she looked in the direction he was looking. He was looking at nothing. Just endless hills covered with grass.
Spike felt something warm touch his side. He looked to see Luna giving him a hug. Spike waited a couple seconds before returning the huge to Luna. He wrapped his small arms around her and enjoyed her warmth.
Luna was in a similar state. She felt Spikes Dragon heat. It was relaxing and very warm like a blanket. They stayed like this for about two minutes before separating and looking back at eachother.
Spike spoke first "Luna if you really want me to show you why I'm feeling like this then I will" Spike said.
"Please Spike I only wish to help. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't" Luna said trying to get Spike to open up to her.
Spike took a deep breath before turning around and walking past Luna. "If that's what you want then I'll show you".
Luna trailed behind him for about thirty seconds before he stopped. Luna stopped right behind him before looking at him. He wasn't moving he was just staring at the vast land in front of him. Luna went beside him and looked at his expression, it was serious. His expression never changed.
In a quick motion he lifted his right arm towards the field in front of him. His arm began to release small green flames. They surrounded his arm before turning into smoke. Luna looked at him, curious of what spike had been doing. He looked at his hand intently before bawling it into a fist. He put pressure when he made the fist and it looked like his hand began to shake vigorously.
Luna's curiosity turned into fear when she saw Spike shaking vigorously. She attempted to stop him but a quick glare from Spike stopped her. He wasn't angry, he was giving her a warm smile. He had no pain on his face just a smile. Luna's worry went away in a instant. She took a step back and waited for Spike to finish what he was doing.
Spike looked back to his hand a saw it was no longer shaking. He unbawled his fist and spread his hand stretching it. The smoke from his palm began to drift upwards. It spread in front and all around them. The first thing Luna noticed was the field in front of her began to disappear. It was as if it was never there. It faded out without a trace.
Soon everything was gone and Spike and Luna were just in a black void. Spike began to walk forward. Luna followed closely behind him. As Spike kept walking she began to her voices. They sounded familiar but Luna wasn't sure who's voices they were. As they got farther into the darkness Luna realized where they were. It was Spikes memory hall again. But the cuts in the walls were now much bigger. Instead of seeing just a glimpse Luna could see everything going on.
And what she saw broke her heart. From see Spike being left on a melting ice block to being used as nothing more than a simple slave Luna saw it all. For one of the first times Luna could remember... she cried. She cried because she saw what spike had to go through. She cried because she thought that spike was fine because she thought Spike was happy with his friends and family, but she cried the most because she didn't notice her own nephew was hurt because of his 'family'.
Her tears began to blind her while looking at the memories of the young drake. She could no longer see what Spike. All she could see where the tears of herself.
Luna didn't know what to think. She was a alicorn. One of the strongest beings in equestria. There were not many who could match her power, she could take down hundreds of enemies at a time, but her she was crying like a foal scared of the dark because she couldn't see her nephew was in pain. She was to focused on Twilight and the others to realized somedragon needed her more.
She wiped her tears away and saw spike was sitting next to her looking at the poor alicorn crying. She looked at him and he looked at her. Luna's tears had already gone and now here they were. Staring at eachother waiting for the other to speak first.
Luna took the opportunity to apologize to her nephew and see if she could make things right. "Spike I know I have not been there for you when you needed somepony but I want to be here now."
Luna looked to him for a response. He didn't say anything. Luna feared that spike wouldn't exempt her apology but her fears quickly dissolved.
"Luna I can't be made at you for not noticing me. Your a princess who lives in Canterlot. You have thousands upon thousands of ponies dreams to watch over. I can't expect someone like you to notice one little dragon in a see of ponies isn't well. I don't blame you for not being there and I certainly don't blame you for anything that's happened. You've been here before and all I want you to know is that... your forgiven" Spike said.
Luna hugged Spike with small tears forming in her eyes. They stayed hugged for a while before Luna let go and looked back at Spike.
"Spike I will talk to Twilight Sparkle and Tia about this. They most know they're mistakes". Luna said.
"No don't, this is something I have to deal with on my own. I need to talk to them myself". Spike said calmly. He had a small smirk on his face but Luna could not see it.
Luna sighed. "As you which Spike. I will not intervene and will leave this issue to you. But if you ever need somepony Spike I'm here just remember".
"Don't worry aunt Luna I will. Besides who else am I gonna talk to in my dreams." He chuckled.
Luna giggled as well before suddenly she began to fade away. "It looks like my time has cut short Spike I will see you again soon". Then she faded away leaving only Spike in his subconscious.
He smirked to himself.
"Don't worry Luna ill take care of them.... myself" he chuckled to himself.
As he was talking to himself the darkness around him began to surround him. He was beginning to wake up, but just before he woke up to dark red dragon eyes were seen in the darkness.
The last thing that was heard was Spikes chuckling before he disappeared in a cloud of green smoke.

Sorry this told a while to get out I was busy with something and had to take care of them. I will be able to get the next chapter up hopefully by next month. Hope you enjoy.

Spike woke up in his bed. He rubbed his eyes and stretched for a second before looking out the window. The sun was already rising above the horizon. Today was quite a special day. It had been three full weeks since Spike had started living with Misty. Ever since he left his old life behind.
His thoughts were interrupted when spike smelt something in the air. It was smoke?
Spike got out of bed and tried to find the source of the smell. He eventually found Misty cooking in the kitchen. She was trying to make pancakes. Keyword trying.
The pancakes were... Well. They were on fire. Misty was trying to put them out before the fire could spread. She got some water from the sink and poured it on the pancakes putting out the fire. She sighed in relief.
Spike coughed loudly getting Mistys attention. She turned around with a grin trying to look as innocent as possible.
"Misty care to explain?" Spike said his eyebrow raised.
Misty dropped the innocent smile and frowned. Her ears flopped down and she looked at the ground avoiding Spikes gaze.
"I'm sorry Spike I know I should have waited for you to wake up but i wanted to surprise you so I tried making pancakes and then I used the wrong ingredient so the stove started to..." Misty started to ramble but was silenced when Spike put a finger over her muzzle.
"Misty it's fine. It happened to all of use. How do you think I learned to cook. It didn't just happen. It took practice, time and determination. I'm not mad, but next time just make sure I'm there to supervise you. Ok?" Spike said.
Misty nodded and turned back to the now burn't pancakes. She picked them up with her magic and threw them in the trash. Spike came up next to her and looked at all the ingredients she was using.
Flour, eggs, milk, all the right ingredients but somehow she still set the pancakes on fire. Kind of reminded Spike of...
Spike froze for a moment before continuing cleaning Mistys mess. He didn't like thinking back to Twiliht and the others. It brought back unpleasant memories that he would rather forget.
Once they both finished Spike began to make pancakes the correct way with Misty watching. Every since she had brought ingredients back from one of the nearby towns Spike began to cook all of the meals. Misty was fascinated by Spikes talent and wanted to learn how to cook herself. It would take a while but Spike could see her improving every day.
Once Spike finished cooking they ate. Misty had some thing to do and so did Spike.
For most of the day they seemed separated. They only talked again when lunch came and then when dinner came as well. Spike usually spent most of his free time either reading the vast selection of book Misty had or just doing anything he could to help Misty.
Lucky for Spike, Misty had some power ponies comics in her library. So he wasn't completely bored when he had lots of spare time.
After dinner was over Spike and Misty would usually talk or just play around until they were tired, but tonight seemed different. Spike noticed Misty had ate rather quickly and went back to her lab. She seemed glued to a book and was reading it even at dinner. Spike wasn't to happy about being ignored but wasn't very mad about it either.
He followed Misty to her lab and went inside with her. She went over to one of the desks and sat down still reading the book the entire time she was walking.
Spike eventually got her attention when he poked her side.
She looked at him for a couple of seconds before speaking." Oh Spike, your here I didn't see you come in." She said.
"I came in with you" Spike said.
"Oh, sorry I've just been really focused on this spell. It seems so strange". She said while looking back at the book.
"Let me have a look." Spike said. Misty handed Spike the book and he observed it. She pointed to the spell that she had been talking about and he eyed it with detail.
It read" This spell is dangerous but also effective. If used on a being could be defective, but to know you must try and to try you must know, but if you succeed the subject will change, its your choice to know if it's better then less."
"I think I understand what it means." Spike said looking back at Misty.
"Y-you do. How do you understand what it means?" She asked surprised that Spike could understand what the book said.
"I had a friend named Zecora back in ponyville. She lived in the everfree forest and for some reason she would always rhyme when she was speaking to someone. It was actually quite entertaining. The more time I spent with her the more I understood her rhymes and what they meant." Spike explained.
Spike looked back to the book and explained what the words meant.
"I think this is a altering spell. I think this spell can change someone or something into anything, but I don't know what everything else means. I think if you do the spell wrong it can have dire consequences" Spike said looking back to Misty.
"I think I've seen a spell like this before." Spike continued.
"You have?" Misty asked surprised.
"Ya, it was in the crystal castles library. I think the book it was some kind of alteration spell." Spike said.
Misty put a hoof to her chin before speaking. "You mean this spell can turn you into something different. Like you can change a Gryphon into a pony."
"I think so. I remember Twilight and I tested the spell. I think the spell transforms your phisical and mental state, but it required lots of magic. I remember Twilight using the spell on herself. It was strange because she could use it multiple times. She turned herself into a stallion and even turned herself older. She eventually stop experimenting with the spell and put the book back.
"That's very interesting" Misty said. Her gaze shifted to the book then back to Spike. "Spike do you think this spell would be different with dark magic."
"Most likely" Spike said in a casual tone.
"Do you want to try it?" Misty asked with a wide grin on her face." I won't force you to do anything you don't want to Spike."
Spike didn't looked at her and didn't say anything. This was something he needed to think about. She wanted to test this spell on him but Spike trusted Misty. She was there for him.
"Let's do it". Spike said with a confident.
Mistys grin widened. She grabbed Spike with her magic and put him on her back. She went over to one of her test tubes and looked at it. She re-opened the book and looked at the spell studying the steps.
"Spike this could take a while. This spell requires lots of dark magic and it even require some regular raw magic. It might take me a day or two to get all of this so why don't you go relax and I'll tell you when I'm done". Misty said still looking at the book.
"Alright I'll see you later" Spike hopped off of Misty and went to the door. He looked at Misty already starting to work before he opened the door and left the room.
(About two days later)
Spike had still been waiting for Misty to be ready. She had stayed in he lab for almost two full days and Spike was getting a little worried. She would only come out if she needed to eat or use the bathroom. Spike decided to just keep waiting patiently. Even though he was starting to get bored.
Spike was sitting in the library reading when Misty walked in.
She saw Spike sitting on the floor reading a book. He seemed very concentrated on the book like he was trying to figure something out. Misty looked at the cover, she let out a small giggle. The book was a tale about a dragon on a quest and saving a princess. Misty had always enjoyed Spikes childness and he always seemed to be positive.
Misty was disturbed from her thoughts when Spike coughed. She looked at him before speaking.
"Spike I finally finished. We can use the spell. This could be a major brake through in dark magic. Come on let's go." She grabbed Spikes arm using magic and dragged him out of the room and over to the laboratory.
"Alright so what do I have to do?" Spike asked.
"....Spike I'm gonna be honest this might hurt. A lot, but this could also benefit you in the future. So I need you to lay on this table." Misty said deadly serious.
Spike looked at her. Her eyes showed only honesty. Spike had seen those eyes before. They were the same eyes as when Spike had meet Misty at the tree of harmony. Spike looked over to the table Misty was talking about. It was just one long metal table not very wide.
"........ I'm ready Misty. Let's do it" Spike said. He looked back up to Misty with a serious expression.
Spike went over to the table and laid on his back. There was a lightbulb above the table. Spike had to squint because the light was shining in his eyes.
Spike looked to his left and saw Misty had trotted up next to the table. She had something holding in her magical grip, Spike couldn't see what it was but he didn't bother to ask.
"Are you ready Spike?" Misty asked looking at Spike.
Spike looked at her for a moment before nodding.
"This might hurt for a second" Misty said.
Spike felt a sharp pain on his left arm. His hand had already turned into a fist. Spike looked and saw Misty was putting a needle into Spike. His scales could withstand the needle but Misty had put the needle in between one of the cracks that separated each scale.
Spike felt the pain for about ten seconds before it went away. His sight became hazzy and he felt a small fatigue growing on him.
Spike looked over to Misty she was eyeing his entire body.
"Is it working?" Spike asked worried something went wrong.
"..... No nothing's wrong. It's working" Misty said. She was still watching Spike intently.
Spies scales had started to turn complete pitch black. It only started happening about thirty seconds after Misty put the shot in Spike. The blackness seemed to be spreading to all of his scales. It started slow but began to multiply at a alarming rate. The blackness started on his left arm. It moved to his left shoulder then his torso and neck. Then half of his body was covered. His once light green scales were now a pitch black.
Within seconds his scales were all fully black. Misty stepped back in astonishment. She had never seen something like this before. She stared at Spike worried for her friends safety. She got closer to him when all of his scales were finally done changing.
All of a sudden Spike began to scream. His eyes shot open. Instead of his green slits for eyes they were now dark black. His entire eye seemed to be black the only hint of color in them was a tiny white dot in the center of the blackness.
Spike was still screaming. Misty could tell he was in agonizing pain. His screams said it all. She could practically feel the pain. Spikes arms and legs started spazzing out. They were shaking seemed to be trying to grab something. Misty used her magic to lock his arms and legs to the metal table.
Spike was still screaming but his screams of pain seems to die down after a couple of minutes. Mistys and Spikes breathing were now the only noises in the room.
Mistys ears shot up when she heard something. It sounded like. Dripping water? She turned her head around and looked for the source nothing seemed to be moving.
The noise became louder and faster. It sounded like multiple faucets where dripping water all around her. Misty turned back around to Spike and gasped at what she saw.
Strange liquid started to leak out from in between Spikes scales. Black thick liquid started pouring out at a alarming rate covering the metal table. It started covering Spikes small body. The liquid looked like it was forming a cocoon around him the black liquid covered his entire body not leaving any spots of spike left. Misty could only watch until the process was over scared for her friend.
For almost five minutes nothing happened. The cocoon didn't move and Misty didn't move. Only Mistys breath could be heard in the laboratory. Misty was worried for her friend but she knew if she tried to stop or interrupted the process it could hurt him in a very dramatic way. So all Misty could do is wait.
(A hour later)
Misty was pacing back and forth across the room. She had been waiting for a whole hour for the spell to finish. She was afraid for her friend and wasn't sure what to do.
A million thought were going through her head. Would Spike be ok? What will Spike look like now? How much longer would she have to wait? Questions she wanted the answers to, but answers she didn't have?
Misty kept pacing back and forth. When she was about to pass by Spike again but then a scaled arm popped out of the cocoon. Misty took a step away from the cocoon still frightened from the arm looking out. It surprised her more than anything.
Once the arm popped out so did another arm. It seemed to be ripping the outer shell that covered Spike. It shredded the black liquid with ease. The two arms that popped out had very sharp claws, they looked like they could cut diamonds. Soon Misty started seeing more of what seemed to be Spike. His legs were now free and so was his torso and his upper body. Then he removed the black ooze that was covering his face. Once he ripped it off he took in a large deep breath. He seemed to be out of breath.
Misty was still standing on the sidelines watching. Her jaw hit the floor when Spike started to sit up out of the cocoon. He put his arms on the metal table and pushed himself up. His back had some ooze still attached to the cocoon. Spike used a single claw to break them. Once he sat up his breath returned to normal and he looked around the room.
His eyes locked with Mistys. Neither seemed to move a muscle.
"S-spike?" Misty said her eyes never moving from his own.
"Hey, long time no see" he chuckled a little she did as well. His voice sounded much deeper, but you would still be able to tell it was Spike from the enthusiasm in his voice.
Spike shifted himself to one side of the table and dropped himself onto the floor. He gave a small groan before lifting himself up. Instead of being on his two feet. He felt more comfortable on all fours. Once he was finally standing up he looked down at his own claw. It looked so much different from what Spike remembered.
Misty scanned Spikes body. He had certainly changed quite a bit in the last hour. Spike was now above the size of a full grown stallion. He looked as big as Bigmac. His scales still were still pitch black but his underbelly seemed more of a dark green. The spikes on his head grew sharper and his had seemed a lot sharper as well. His torso looked a lot more defined and it looked like he had muscles on his arms and upper torso.
'He certainly looked stronger' Misty thought to herself. Misty couldn't help but stare at Spikes new look. Misty activated her horn and scanned Spikes body. A red line scanned Spike from top to bottom it covered his whole body before returning into Mistys horn.
The scan actually gave Misty a lot of new information about Spike. It gave his height, his weight, and it also gave a complete list of his health and it showed the amount of magic in Spikes body.
His weight had only grown because of his new body size. He was 140 pounds. His health was complete normal and his internal organs were fine as well, but what really caught Misty off guard was the amount of magic in Spikes body.
There was so much. His entire body seemed to be flowing with magic. Streams of magic went through this body like blood. The magic Misty had scanned in Spikes body was something she had never seen before. It was some new type of magic. Misty got interrupted from her thoughts when she heard Spike talking to her.
"W-what did you say Spike? I was.... thinking" Misty said refocusing on Spike.
"I said what did you do with your magic?. Some weird red thing came off of your horn and went up and down my body like it was looking for something." Spike asked confused.
"Oh sorry, I did a scan on your body to make sure your alright. By the way. How do you feel?" Misty said.
"I have a headache but other than that I feel fine. But there is this weird feeling I have. I'm not sure how to describe it." Spike said. He looked at his claw and closed it into a fist before opening it again.
"Well your phisical body is fine and your mental state seemed perfectly normal but you seem to have a lot of stored magic in your body". Misty said looking back at the results from her scan.
"Well what does that mean? Is that bad?" Spike asked worried.
"No it's not bad or good, but since you have so much stored magic there might be a way for you to use it" Misty said.
"Wait so your saying.... there might be a way I can use magic. Like levitate stuff and cast spells like you do." Spike said.
"Possible" Misty said looking at Spike.
"Awesome this is so cool. I grew bigger I feel stronger and I can do magic this is awesome. Thanks Misty" Spike gave Misty a full on huge.
"U-uh your welcome S-spike I only did it b-because you said I c-could" she blushed from Spike hugging her.
"Spike before I let you go I want to do one more observation of your new body" Misty asked looking into Spikes eyes.
"Alright sure, go ahead" he said letting go of Misty so she could observe him.
Misty started by looking at his legs. Then his lower torso, then moved up to his upper torso and shoulder. She checked for anything that would be wrong on his scales. Any cracks or fractures in his scales could be fatal. Misty didn't see anything wrong. Once she moved to his head she realized she had missed something. She didn't even notice it when Spike changed. Two horns had grown on his head.
They were both on the top of his head. They were parallel to eachother and went backwards unlike a unicorn horn. The horns looked like they both went straight backwards they didn't curve or bend at all. There color seemed to be a dark purple that stopped halfway before stopping and turning into a dark green.
"Misty is everything alright? You haven't stopped looking at my head for quite a while." Spike asked.
"Ya.... everything's just..... fine" Misty said still shocked that Spike not only had changed dramatically in the past ten minutes but could now also do magic.
"Spike I think you should see this" Misty said. She summoned a large mirror and pointed at Spike. Spike stared at the mirror for almost a full five minutes before speaking.
He moved his right arm up to his head. His claws touched the two horns that were on top of his head. He touched and felt them, studying them. He looked shocked.
"W-wow so this is the new me" Spike said still staring into the mirror.
"What do you think?" Misty said. She peeked her head from behind the mirror and looked at Spike.
"I'm not sure what to think. This is everything I've ever wanted.... but now I feel even more.... alone." He said looking back at his own claw studying.
"Your not alone Spike. I'll always be with you. No matter what". Misty said a small smile adorned her face.
Spikes serious face showed some happiness. He had a small grin while looking at Misty.
"Thanks Misty. I'm glad there's at least somepony who can be there for me... always." Spike thought back to s couple of bad memories but he quickly refocused on what was going on.
He moved forward and gave Misty a small hugs again. This time she hugged back.
"Uh actually Misty one more thing." Spike asked.
"What?" Misty asked confused.
"Where's the shower?" Spike asked.
Misty looked at Spike and saw that he still had some ooze left from his.... cocoon thing and it seems to be mostly on his back.
"Your gonna have to take a long shower Spike. A LONG shower" Misty said.
Spike chuckle as Misty lead him out of the lab and to the shower.
Spike had gone through quite a change.

Misty was currently in the library righting something in a book. It appeared to be a journal of some kind.
It had been quite a eventful week for Spike. He had quickly grown a liking to his new body. He was much taller and he seemed comfortable walking on four legs instead of two.
Misty made sure Spike was in perfect health just to be sure the spell had no weird side effects. He was fine mentally and physically. Misty had caught herself staring at Spike every once in a while, but just brushed it off as getting used to seeing him in his new form around the house, but she never took in account to what she was staring at.
Spike was so eager to learn magic. Misty and him would practice it every day and Spike seemed to be facinated by what he could do with his knew abilities. Not only was his magic far superior than a average unicorns, but it even seemed to surpass Misty's own magic. Misty had taught Spike lots of basic spells to start him off, but he blew through them like nothing. He had learned more spells in a day than a regular unicorn could in a month.
It eventually got to a point where Misty found something even more fascinating about Spike. Something she could barely comprehend. His magic was far superior to even her own magic. He could control his magic and output it much more efficiently then she could.
His magic also felt a lot different then her own. While Misty's magic was more calm and controllable. Spikes magic seemed to be more ravenous and full of raw power. Misty could only guess that since Spike was a dragon his magic was different.
Misty didn't know how to teach Spike at first. She had no idea how dragon magic worked, but she started with just the basics. Since Spikes magic was a combination of two different magic types Misty tried to take it slow with Spike so she could learn with him.
For almost the entire week at any point Spike had free time he would practice magic. Weather it be levitating something or teleporting a few inches Spike would try and perfect his magic. His enthusiasm and energy were relentless. He was so eager to learn and Misty was happy to help him.
"Hey Misty"
Misty surprised by the sudden voice slammed the book she was writing in closed and stood up with the book hiding behind her.
She turned around and saw Spike standing in the door frame.
"Uh sorry if I scared you but you didn't answer when I knocked. So I just assumed I could come in." Spike said looking a bit guilty for scaring Misty.
"I-its fine Spike I was just...focused on something else. I guess I didn't hear you"Misty said. She looked back at the journal she was writing in and picked it up with her magic before putting it on a nearby shelf that also contained many other books.
She turned back to Spike and moved toward while saying." So what's up. Do you need something?" Misty asked.
"No I don't need anything I was just hoping we could maybe do some more magic practice. I've feel like I could just be learning more than I already am. You know?" Spike said a small smile spread across his face.
Misty chuckled to herself."Of course Spike, but you don't have to be so shy when you ask me"
She trotted past Spike and went into the hallway." Come on follow me".
Spike quickly followed Misty. After about a minute of walking Misty suddenly stopped and Spike walked up net to her.
"What are we doing here? We usually practice magic in the lab." Spike asked.
"Not this time Spike. I think you've definitely proved yourself to be learning a lot faster than any normal pony. So I think we need a larger area for you to test your magic." Misty said. She turned back to the door and fasted a spell. Her horn flashed for a quick second and the door infront of them changed. Instead of being a regular oak door like the rest in the house. It turned into some kind of stone door. It was a very light grey around the edges and had a dark grew center.
Misty grabbed the door knob with her magic and twisted it open. The first thing Spike noticed when Misty opened the door was the change in air flow. Spike could tell there was a lot more air. The door lead to outside. Somewhere Spike had not seen in quite some time.
Misty trotted outside and looked up to the sky. The sun was shining nice and bright. It was a beautiful day. Spike took a step outside. The grass felt nice and soft on his scales. Spike felt a gust of wind hit him when his entire body was outside. He was now omly a few meter behind Misty who was still looking up to the sky.
Spike took note of his surroundings. Trees were around but they seemed far away. Spike could see grass go on for possibly miles. Spike took a deep breath and felt the fresh air invade his lungs. He felt so peaceful. It was so quiet, there were no ponies walking around, there were no monsters invading and trying to attack. It was just pure nature.
Spike thought back to one of his ponyville friends. Probably the closest friend he had among the main six. Fluttershy. He never understood the shy mare. She was easily scared and before Twilight and him moved to ponyville she was living on the outskirts of town not talking to anyone. Spike assumed she just liked being alone but being were he was right now made him think more about it.
Maybe she lived there because of the forest nearby. She had many animal friends and seemed to only talk to them. Or maybe she just enjoyed the silence. The experience of just watching nature.
Either way Spike felt at peace. He closed his eyes and felt the sun shine over him. He took another deep breath before opening his eyes. He saw Misty had stopped looking at the sky and was now staring at him.
When she realized he was looking at her she squeaked and turned around a blush spread across her face.
Spike had noticed the difference in Misty's actions. Spike would catch her staring at things for a indefinite amount of time. She would only stop when Spike got her attention. She was also blushing much more often, at first spike though she was sick. He thought she had some kind of fever, but she didn't show any other symptoms like coughing tiredness, but Spike did start noticin a pattern. He noticed she was always staring at his direction and blushed only when they had hugged or had made any kind of physical contact.
Spike was no idiot but he still couldn't be sure. So he needed to do one small test. When he was walking through the halls he made sure he would bump into Misty. If she had a blush then it would be pretty much confirmed. And she did. She blushed a lot more then he expected.
She ran off into her room stuttering. He felt bad making her feel that way but he needed to make sure. He needed to find a way to tell her that he liked her to but Spike wasn't exactly a expert on romance. He had a crush on Rarity that had long faded.
Spike was interrupted from his thoughts when he realized Misty had started walking into the forest. She was on a dirt path that seemed to go right into the forest.
"H-hey wait up" Spike said. He started running so he could catch up to Misty.
"Come on we only have about 4 hours of daylight. And your the one who wanted to practice so hurry up". She said walking into the forest. Spike was not far behind and soon joined her side for the long walk they would have to take.
(About 20 minutes later)
"Misty how much farther is it?" Spike asked.
"Come on Spike we're almost there. Just a little bit further" Misty said trotting ahead of him.
Spike saw Misty stop when she got about twenty meter in front of him. She was looking ahead but spike couldn't see what it was. He picked up his pace and joined Misty. He look at what she was staring at he could only stare himeself.
The forest had abruptly stopped and now only small hills and short grass could be seen. Spike could seen animals walking around eating or playing. It was quite peaceful.
"This is what I wanted to show you. There's enough space here to train and perfect your magic. So, you are ready to get started?" Misty asked.
"Let's do it" Spike said filled with confidence.
"All right I got a couple of spots we can use. Just rocks and dead trees we can use for testing some spells." Misty said trotting forward.
Spike followed Misty. While Spike was following Misty he looked around more. He saw a river with lots of animals drinking from it. He looked to his left and saw some birds in a nest together. There were eggs in the best showing what they were doing.
Spike came to a stop when he bumped into Misty. They had went over a hill and were now in a large flat plains area. They had gotten closer to the forest but it looked like the forest had been dead for years. There were a few big boulders next to the forest. Spike assumed Misty had got them from a nearby mountain or cave.
"Alright Spike now try and destroy this boulder. This will give me a good idea of what your magical capabilities are." Misty said.
"Alright" Spike moved about fifteen meters away from the boulder and closed his eyes. His horns soon began to glow a dark green. The glow soon became brighter and Spike began to sweat. A few seconds later a ball of green and black energy started to form in between Spikes two horns. It grew to about the size of a soccer ball before it stopped growing. Spike opened his eyes with a grunt and looked at the boulder in front of him.
He was trying aim his magic so it would hit the boulder dead on. Without warning the ball of energy blasted out a beam. When the beam was blasted the ball of energy seemed to rapidly shrink the longer the beam was being fired. It directly hit the boulder and made a hole that went through the entire rock. Misty trotted up to the rock and examined it.
There was one large hole that went through it. It wasn't very wide at all it was only a few inches. Misty was impress the boulder was very thick and the fact that Spike could pierce through the entire boulder was amazing.
Misty turned around when she heard something hit the dirt. Spike was laying on the ground breathing heavily.
"You ok Spike?" Misty asked.
She really get a answer just a grunt. She assumed he was ok, but quickly went over to him to make sure.
Right when Misty made it over to Spike she heard something crak behind her. She turned and didn't see anything moving so she ignored it, but then she heard it again. She turned towards the forest thinking something was stepping on branches but nothing. The cracks soon became more rapid. Misty looked over to the rock to see small cracks coming from the hole Spike created. They spread through the entire boulder, the cracks seemed to be glowing some weird white energy. The boulder looked like it was shining when the cracks had spread through the entire thing.
Suddenly the boulder exploded sending pieces of rock everywhere. Misty quickly put a shield up to keep her and Spike safe. The rocks hit the shield but didn't bounce of it. They stayed there as if they were stuck to the shield.
When it was over the giant boulder was nothing. It seemed all that was left of it was some tiny pebbles on the dirt. Mistys mouth was wide open. Spike magic was far more deadly than she could have ever imagined. She looked back to him and saw he was starting to get up.
He quickly got back onto all fours and made his way next to Misty. He didn't say anything. He just stared at what was left of the boulder.
He turned to look at Misty. "So, what now?" Spike asked.
Misty stood there for about thirty seconds before speaking. "Well there's one thing I know for sure. It's that we have a lot of practice to do, and I mean A LOT of it." She said looking over to Spike.
There eyes met. Neither side looked away. Misty grew a small blush but quickly turned away when she felt her face heat up.
"Well w-we better get s-started right away" she said walking over to more boulders for Spike to test his magic on.
(3 hours later)
Spike was laying on the ground panting. Misty was standing next to him seeing if he was ok. Spike had been using his magic for almost three straight hours and had gotten exhausted. He was sweating and it looked like he was trying to take a nap.
In front of Spike was the boulders and dead trees had been practicing his magic on. All of them were either destroyed or burnt to ash. The sun had already set and the moon took its place in the sky. The moon brightly shined in the night sky creating lots of light.
"Alright Spike we better get going" Misty said.
Spike got back up onto all fours looked at Misty. His gaze shifted to the main on when he saw how bright it was shining.
"What a beautiful night" Spike said.
Misty sat down next to Spike and looked up into the sky with him. It was quite a sight to see. Stars were already out and the night sky seemed to shine in the dark.
"Yeah, it is quite beautiful" Misty said.
Misty turned her head to look at Spike, when she looked her eyes met his. She quickly turned her head looking away from Spike. Misty felt something touch her chin. She looked and saw Spikes claw. Spike moved Mistys head so she was looking back at Spike. They were both looking at eachothter again, but neither said a word.
Misty stared at Spike waiting for him to say something. He didn't moved at all. His hand was still touching Misty's chin and Spike didn't have any kind of expression on his face.
Spike slowly moved toward Misty. She seemed to move without thinking, she just moved closer to Spike. They both stopped when they were only a few centimeters away from each other. Neither ever broke eye contact. They just kept staring into each other's eyes.
Spike pushed forward slowly, getting closer and closer to Misty. She didn't move, a blush was still spread across her face. In one quick motion Spike closed the gap between them. His lips meet hers and they both seemed to embrace eachother without knowing it.
The kiss was passionate and hot. They both closed there eyes enjoying the new sensations they were feeling. Each side enjoyed the feeling of eachothers bodies. Misty enjoyed feeling Spikes dragon warmth pressed against her. While Spike enjoyed Mistys soft coat touching his scales.
Spikes hand went from Mistys chin to her cheek. He stroked it softly, Malik get Misty moan. Spike opened his eyes, he saw that Mistys eyes were still closed. Spike noticed Misty change in front of him. She changed from the beloved friend who was there for Spike at every turn. To the beautiful mare who had showed Spike affection and kindness no matter what.
They both eventually had to separated, a kiss couldn't last forever. They both took in breaths of air. Misty opened her eyes and they were meet with Spikes once again. The moon was still shining and it seemed to have gotten brighter in a short amount of time.
Spike got up on all fours and put a claw out so Misty could stand up as well. She grabbed his claw and pushed herself up. They were standing in front of each other, one staring at the other. The moonlight was shining brightly over them creating a light so they could see.
Animals had gone to sleep, no creature seemed to be out at this time. Neither of them noticed. They were to focused on each other.
They may have not talked but they were thinking in their minds.
Misty and Spike had returned home in silence. Neither of them said anything. No words had been spoken, only actions had occurred. They walked side by side, staring at the dirt road. Both pony and dragon were to afraid to make eye contact.
Once they had reached there home. Misty quickly went into her room and locked the door. Spike watched as Misty went into her room. He soon found himself doing the same. He got onto his bed and closed his eyes. He tried to sleep but his mind had to much to think about. He stayed up thinking, just him and his thoughts. He eventually got to sleep but it was very late into the night when he did.
Across the hallway in another room. Misty was having the same problem. She couldn't comprehend what had happened. She eventually let sleep overtake here mind.
(Morning)
Spike was the first to wake up. The sun was already in the sky shining bright. Spike decided to make Misty and him some breakfast. He knew she loved his cooking so he decided to discuss what happened over breakfast. He made pancakes they were Mistys favorite. He made regular for Misty and gem filled ones for himself.
He set the table and put the stove on low so the pancakes would stay warm. He made his way over to Mistys room. He was about to knock when the door opened. Misty was rubbing her eyes with a hoof. She stopped and stood like a statue when she saw Spike. Spike brought his arm back down to the floor and Misty put her hoof back on the floor as well. Spike was the first to speak.
"Um.... I made breakfast. I was about to come tell you." Spike said.
Misty didn't say anything she just walked past Spike and headed towards the kitchen. Spike knew she was uncomfortable about what happened. She didn't make a single noise as she was walking to the kitchen. Spike followed close behind, watching her closely.
Once they reached the kitchen Misty sat on the opposite side of the table. Then she started eating. Spike sat on the other side just watching her. He wasn't eating he was just staring at Misty. Misty waited almost a full minute before trying again. Spike once again blocked the path and stepped in front of Misty making sure she could only looked at him or the floor.
Misty stayed still not trying to go around Spike again. She figured Spike wanted her here for a reason so she waited, and waited. For almost two full minutes neither dragon or pony moved or spoke out.
Misty lifted her head up when she heard Spike sigh. His eyes were closed and he was looking at the ground. He looked sad and confused. Misty herself was in the same state but Spike seemed to show it a lot less than Misty did.

Misty waited for thirty seconds trying to figure out what to say. She closed her eyes and sighed. She was trying to build up confidence to tell Spike how she felt, but she was scared he would reject her. She finally said what was on her mind.
"Spike.... your a great friend. You've shown me nothin but kindness since I met you and your so much fun to be around. Your always so happy or enthusiastic. They both started walking out of the dinning room and into the hallway. The two didn't do anything new but they did enjoy each other company. Misty was happy that she finally told Spike about her feeling. She was always thinking about them even when she was working. Now she felt like fifty pounds of rock were off her back.
The rest of the day was uneventful. Both Spike and Misty worked in the lab for the rest of the day. At the end of the day they both stopped working and at dinner before going to bed about a hour later.

For some reason he couldn't get to sleep. He groaned, realizing that trying to get back to sleep wouldn't work. He got up out of his bed and yawned. Spike tried to navigate through his room. He was looking for something but couldn't find it. He stopped when he reached his desk. He picked up a lantern and lit it with his dragon fire. He let loose a small amount of flames. The lanterns light turned green before slowly turning orange.
The lantern lit up Spikes room. He could now see everything in clear view. He made his way to the door and opened it slowly. His room was fairly close to Mistys and he didn't want to wake her up. Spike made his way to the bathroom.
Spike went over to the sink and grabbed some water in his hands. He splashed it on his face to wake himself up. There was a wide mirror right infront of the sink. He looked at himself, he noticed all the different things about himself. He pictured himself in his younger body, he had changed so much.

He turned around and started walking away. He only took a few steps before he felt something grab his front right claw. He looked and saw Mistys magic wrapped around his claw.
"Misty, what are you doing?" Spike asked confused by Mistys action.
"I-I uh.... wanted to know if you would....." Misty said whispering something at the end that Spike didn't hear.
"What was that? I didn't hear you" Spike said starting to worry about Misty. She was acting so strange.

Misty sighed before speaking." Alright I'll tell you. I've been having nightmare lately and I can't sleep. I've been up almost every night and it's like these Nightmare are happening all the time".
"And" Spike said. He knew there was more but she didn't want to say it.
"And I wanted you to... help me." Misty said.
