//-------------------------------------------------------// The Princess of Prehistory -by TrueBlueAdventurer- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Finding a New Home //-------------------------------------------------------// Finding a New Home Previously on Princess of the world A Raptor egg is shown hatching. The hatchling inside is Blue. Owen is standing in front of a young Blue, holding a book in his hand. “Blue,” Owen said, “repeat after me, ‘You are Owen, I am Blue’.” Suddenly, Blue is an adult, "You are Owen, I am Blue." A smile comes across Owen's face. Owen and Blue are watching TV in his bungalow. On the TV, Pinkie Pie is giggling at a scary looking tree while singing. Soon, her soon-to-be friends are laughing too. Blue also begins laughing, Owen smiling down at her. The scene dissolves and we see Twilight battling Tirek. Blue is cheering Twilight on. We see Twilight and her friends sharing a picture. Owen turns the TV off. “Blue,” Owen said, “you know you’re genetically modified, right?” Blue nods, “Well, I did something special... I’m your father." The next day, a car pulls up to Owen's bungalow as Blue is watching Equestria Girls for what would be the tenth time. Claire steps out. “Mr. Grady, I need you to come take a look at something... We have an attraction… A new species we've made.” "You want to consult here or in my bungalow?” Owen asked sarcastically, laughing. “He doesn’t control us!” Blue shouted at Claire. “Look, I get it. You're in charge out here. You’ve got to make a lot of tough decisions. It's probably easier to pretend we’re all just numbers to give names to. But we're not. We're alive. I'm going with you.” “What makes up the Indominus? “There is also DNA from your and Owen’s blood.” Leaves shake as the Indominus appears in front of Blue. Blue tries a few calls, but the Indominus roars back. We cut to the control room. Blue has Claire pinned down. “Am I just an animal to you?! Am I just an asset?! You claim to be doing what’s right for the park,” Blue lowers her head to stare directly into Claire's eyes, “but you still ignore us. We’re more than you believe us to be. I don’t expect you to understand that, but I do wish for you to respect it.” “Evacuate the island,” Owen said. “I’d have a word with the people in your lab. That thing out there, that’s no dinosaur.” “I need you, both of you,” Claire said. Owen and Blue look at each other and nod. “My nephews, they’re out in the Valley. Please, if anything happens to them I don’t know what I’ll do.” We cut to a field where the Indominus has killed the Apatosaurs. “It didn’t eat them,” Owen said, assessing the situation, “it’s killing for sport.” “We need to get to the kids,” Blue said. In the jungle, the boys have been found. “Wow!” the younger boy shouted, “a talking Raptor!” The boy ran up to me and looked me over. “This is the coolest thing in this whole park!” The group come upon the wreckage of the old Visitor Center. “Magnificent, isn’t it?” Maul says, shadowed in the darkness. We next see him in the light. “The stories of the events of the old park were quite exaggerated. My name isn’t ‘Big One’, I don’t know where you got that idea. My name, as I’ve come to adopt it as such, is Maul." Suddenly, the Raptors from Isla Sorna and the Spinosaurus appear, "These are my friends. We’re InGen’s lost relics.” We see Blue and Maul outside in the jungle. “You have a pretty good control over them,” Blue said. “It’s not control, it’s loyalty. They’re my family,” Maul said. Next, Claire is on the phone. “ACU is airborne, they took the helicopter.” “Who’s flying it?” Claire asked as the sound of whirling blades filled the air. Maul and Blue are running through the jungle, Pterosaur shadows overhead. Owen and Claire are on their backs. “Maul, you were a savage once, why are you different now?” Blue asked. We see the scene where Rexy throws Maul into the T. rex skeleton. Maul awakens and he and Rexy read a book. Maul says over it: "Well, it started with the attack in the visitor center. I woke up when I hit the stairs. I managed to stop her from attacking me when I convinced her that the humans left us for dead. That’s when I formed the Old Relics. I found whatever books I could and taught Rexy and me how to communicate to humans." We return to the jungle. "I miss you Rexy, you were my best friend.” The gang run down the main street, running towards the T-Rex Kingdom during the Pterosaur attack, “Maul, Rexy is in the park, in her very own spot,” Claire explained. The gates of paddock nine are open, Maul and Rexy are staring at each other. “It’s been too long my friend,” Rexy said. We see the group towards the center of the main street. “Blue,” Maul said, “I swear to you, nothing will happen to your family. My pack will protect yours.” It's night time at the Raptor Paddock. “So, the mother hen and the baby bird have finally arrived!” Hoskins exclaimed before he was pounced on by Maul. “Stay away from my pack members, monster!” Maul snarled, his teeth inches from Hoskins' face. It's the jungle again. The Indominus walks up to the group of Raptors. Owen walks up to Blue. “The pack’s turned against you. Carrie convinced them to join the Indominus’s side,” Blue said, “don’t worry about me, my sisters, or Maul. Our loyalty belongs to you.” We cut to the lab. The pack is whole again. “I am a living creature, not some weapon of mass destruction!” Blue shouts at Hoskins. “No, that would be the Indominus,” Hoskins snaps back at Blue. Blue lunged at Hoskins, pinning him down. Outside, the Indominus stands menacingly. “You’ve betrayed me.” It sneered. “We don’t betray family.” Blue snarled back. Rexy and the Indominus battle, but Rexy loses. “Any last words before I kill you?” The Indominus said. “Yes,” Rexy said, “you’re a monster, and you’ll never be anything else.” “You’re wrong," the Indominus said, "Since you humans took my sister away from me for ‘safety’, my life has been nothing but misery. So can you really blame me for being who I am?!” We cut to the lagoon. The Mosasaur, right on cue, jumped out of the lagoon. The Indominus heard it rise out of the water, turned, and stared in fear. Suddenly, a second Indominus slammed into the Mosasaur, roaring at it, and scaring it back into the water. The Indominus stared at the other Indominus and smiled. “Liza,” the Indominus said, “could it really be you?” “Yes, Indy,” the other Indominus said, “it’s really me.” “So, we’re no longer enemies?” Maul asked, confused about the sudden change of heart. "What use is there in continuing to fight with you?” Indy asked. “I’ll join your side if I gain a mate,” Indy said. She looked towards Rexy. “Her.” “Alright," Rexy said, "I may not have any feelings for you besides sympathy, but I will allow you to breed with me.” We all decided to wait in the park for a few days. It seemed the most logical thing to do. The park was our home, for Rexy, her home of twenty-two years. Sadly, though, the pack took a heavy hit. The only members of our Sorna Raptors to have survived were Scar, Mark, Harrison, and Carrie. Over the next few days, we explored the park. We were forced to shut the park down due to safety concerns. We knew that the park would never open again, especially since the killers were still alive and free to run around the park as they pleased. We planned to leave the island and live with Owen back in his home state of Montana. Over the course of two days, helicopters and boats arrived, taking the visitors from the island, never to return. On the second day, we heard voices behind us. “Zach! Gray!” We looked behind us, to see a blond woman and a brunette man running up to us. “Mom! Dad!” Zach and Gray yelled out, running towards them. “Claire! What happened here?” The woman asked. “Everything’s under control, Karen. Trust me.” Claire said. “See these rexes and these Raptors? They’re our friends. The Indominus originally wasn’t, but now that the other Indominus is here, he is.” “Okay,” the man said, “let’s just hear the whole story.” So, we told them our tale. The man, Scott, and Karen’s eyes opened wide when we got to the Indominus hunt. Their eyes got wider when we talked about the battle we had two nights ago. They looked at me and Maul as heroes as they heard about our resistance to Indy’s corruption. They looked at us all as heroes when we talked about how Indy and Liza turned to our side. “All right,” Karen said, “Zach, Gray, you need to come home now. C’mon, you can play with your friends later.” “Alright, mom,” Gray said, as he, along with Zach walked away with their parents, never to come back to the island again. Later that day, while walking past a lagoon, a Spinosaurus attacked. The ones closest to it were Charlie and Delta. The Spinosaurus was inches from killing them, when I leaped onto the creatures back, distracting it. I was grabbed by the beast’s jaws and thrown to the side. I felt pain on my side, but it was less than Echo had done, so I knew that it was far from fatal. Rexy charged in and grabbed the Spino by the neck. It snapped at her, getting its jaws around her throat. It bit down hard, which caused Rexy to let go. She let out a roar of pain, trying to get the Spino to let go. Indy ran in and slashed the Spino’s head to release its grip on Rexy. He followed up by grabbing the Spino’s head in his hands and twisting its neck, killing it instantly. “That was a close one,” Rexy said, panting, her wounds from the fight hurt worse from the Spino’s biting her in that exact spot. We were just lucky Indy joined our side, or we would have all died. “Thanks, Indy.” She smiled at him at I saw in her eyes what I believed to be the start of an actual loving relationship. I didn’t know how strong it would be, but I knew that it was at least there. The rest of the day went smoothly. The next day, during a hunting trip, we had a run in with an Ankylosaurus. We had attempted to hunt and kill an Edmontosaurus. Instead, in the middle of the chase, an Ankylosaur turned towards Indy and roared. Indy, who had experience in fighting Ankylosaurs, knew to aim for the legs, flip the Anky over, and then snap its neck.  Things didn’t go that smoothly, however, the Ankylosaur was ducking into a rut, protecting its legs. Indy kept getting hit in the face by the club. He was becoming battered and bruised, and was soon about to topple when I and my siblings ran in, and bit the Ankylosaur’s legs. With its attention now on us, Rexy and Indy were able to lift the Ankylosaur out of the ravine, and onto its back. Echo narrowly avoided the tail club, and Owen shot the beast with a tranquilizer, as Indy went for the neck. He snapped it in ten seconds flat. Suddenly, Claire got a call on her phone. “Yes Lowery, what is it?” She asked into the device. “Okay, uh huh, okay, I’ll let them know. Okay. Okay, bye.” We stared at her in anticipation, nervous of what the call was about. “Ladies and gentlemen, we officially have a new home. Lowery wants us to head to the control room.” We rushed into the control room, almost as quickly as we had rushed for the lab a few nights before. When we had gotten there, we saw that a portal was open on the wall. “I know, I was surprised too,” Lowery said, “I didn’t expect to be there, but there it is.” “Where do you think it leads?” Echo asked. “Oh, it heads towards a magical land full of pastel colors,” Lowery said sarcastically. Charlie popped her head in, only to pop it back out seconds later. “Lowery’s not kidding! There really is a pastel colored world beyond the portal!” Charlie shouted. “Let me see,” Indy said, popping his head in. Soon, he popped it back out. “That’s Ponyville through there!” I perked up. I knew where Ponyville was from and knew exactly what the world would be through there. “Ponyville?” Claire asked, “you mean, that one place from My Little Pony?” “Exactly,” I said. Claire rolled her eyes, as Owen turned, looking as if he would jump into the portal right then. “Indy, you know about that place?” I asked. “Of course,” Indy said, “like I said, I watched the Hub when I was growing up. Liza was taken away shortly after we had watched The Best Night Ever. The TV was taken away from me shortly after I was furious at Magical Mystery Cure.” I chuckled at this, as I had heard that there was a great debate about that particular episode. I myself just accepted it as what it was. I knew that the writers knew what they were doing, so I had faith they knew what to do with it. “Who’s your favorite?” “For me,” Liza said, “it was Twilight, she was everything I hoped to be.” “It was Applejack for me,” Indy said, “I really liked her attitude.” “I personally love Rainbow,” I said, smiling, “for the same reason as you, Liza!” “Ahem,” Maul said exaggeratingly, catching our attention, “Blue, do you really think a magical land of talking ponies is really the best place for us to live? I mean, we’re Dinosaurs.” “Honey, sweetie,” I said, “if we are to raise our hatchlings, they’ll need a safe place to live. Equestria is as great a place as any!” “What’s going on in there?” I asked. Indy popped his head back, popping it back out a moment later. “They’re scrambling around in there. There seems to be a monster attacking! Maybe we could help them if we hurried!” Indy shouted, getting more excited by the moment. Indy and Liza both jumped into the portal, Claire and Owen following suit seconds after. Next, my sisters and Maul leaped into the portal, before the rest of my pack. I was the last one. I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. There were things I was wishing when I leaped into the portal, most of all, I hoped to meet my pony role model. I felt light swirl around me as I entered the world that I hoped would be safe for all of us. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Wedding Here in Ponyville //-------------------------------------------------------// A Wedding Here in Ponyville When we arrived, I didn’t notice what Indy had. There was no fighting, but there was a donkey that I instantly recognized as Cranky Doodle running through the crowd. He still had his golden hair that Pinkie had given him. I looked back at our group. None of us had changed since we had gone through the portal. Due to the Equestria Girls universe, I found this odd. We decided to follow him to see what was going on. We soon arrived at Cranky’s cottage. We decide to peek into the windows to see inside and help figure things out. We saw Matilda, Cranky’s sweetheart, holding a page of a book open while she looked at Cranky. Despite the windows, we could easily make out their conversation. “I’ll never understand the ponies in this town!” Cranky said, slamming the door. “I don’t blame you,” Owen said under his breathe. Indy, Liza, and I gave him a sarcastic frown, pretending to be upset at his remark “Everywhere I went, they were all gussied up and lookin’ at me funny!” Cranky continued, “Kept asking if I was ‘nervous’!” “Did they forget the wedding is tomorrow?” Matilda asked. I was shocked by this. If we had arrived sooner, we might have received an invitation. As it was, though, I was just happy to be living in Equestria now. “Maybe they’re just as excited for us to be married as I am,” Cranky said, as the two donkeys nuzzled each other. I giggled at the shared affection. “Well, they’re going to feel awfully silly when they realize they’ve got the wrong date,” Matilda said, turning back to the book. She stared into the book and let out a gasp. “The invitations are wrong!” She held up the book, which held the invitations inside. “This says the wedding is today!” “Sounds like they’ll need help,” I said, as the others look certain of this conclusion as well. “They’ll need our help,” Indy stated, getting a nod from everyone. “C’mon everyone!” I shouted, running back to Ponyville. We heard the door open, with Matilda running out of her house, looking frantic. We ran back into town, where we noticed the ponies all rushing to and fro throughout the town, desperate to get the wedding ready. Suddenly, a blue blur raced out of the sky, heading right for me. “Woah!” the blur shouted as it narrowly dodged me, crash landing on the ground. Once on the ground, I had a better look at the figure. It was my favorite pony, Rainbow Dash. “Rainbow Dash!?” I gasped, not even trying to hide my excitement. “That’s my name, don’t wear it out…” Rainbow said in a daze. She shook her head and looked towards me. “Wait, I haven’t seen any of you in town before. Who are all of you?” “Well,” Maul said, “this is Charlie, Delta, and Echo,” he motioned to my sisters who smiled at the pegasus, “these are Mark, Harrison, and Carrie, Scar, Owen, Claire, Rexy, Indy, Liza, and Finn,” he motioned to each in turn, “I am Maul and this is my mate Blue.” “Rainbow Dash,” I said, holding back an exciting squeal, “you have no idea how much of a fan of you I am. You are the best pony in all of Equestria!” “Heh, thanks,” Rainbow said, “it’s always nice to meet a fan! But, today, I’m kinda busy, there’s a mysterious creature from Tartarus coming and I and my friends need to help fight it.” She turned to walk away. “Hold on,” Indy said, “maybe, I and Liza can help you? You could use all the help you can get!” Rainbow thought this over, “I don’t know,” she finally said, “you’d have to ask Twilight.” “Ask me what?” Twilight asked, flying down towards us. “If we can help in your fight!” Liza said. “Twilight,” Rainbow said, motioning to us, “these are Blue, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Owen, Claire, Rexy, Indy, Liza, Finn, Scar, Mark, Harrison, and Carrie. Blue thinks I’m awesome.” I giggled at this, considering it was the same level of ego I came to expect from Rainbow Dash. “Alright,” Twilight said, “you seem big and strong, if you can handle it, you can help us fight! Now, as for all of you, Claire, Owen, head to the castle, you can’t miss it. Spike will let you in, just say ‘Twilight sent you’” The two nodded. ”Charlie, Delta, Echo, head for the City Hall. It’s the big building with the porch. Lyra and Bon Bon could use a helping hoof.” The two nodded. “Everyone else but Blue and Maul, help out around town. Everyone meet outside the castle after you’re done.” Carrie, Mark, Harrison, and Scar nodded. “Blue, Maul, feel free to explore Ponyville.” We nodded, as well. Indy and Liza cheered. I knew they would be great assets, especially considering what one of them could weather. With both working together, not even Equestria’s strongest dragons would stand a chance. The groups left to rendezvous with the rest of the Mane Six and to help out in any way they could. Soon after, we decided to move to the nearby restaurant to grab a bite to eat. There, sitting at a table, were Doctor Hooves and Derpy Hooves. I wondered if we had lucked out and found a universe where they were a part of a large family. “I really messed up on those invitations!” Derpy gasped in exasperation, “I feel just awful, Doc!” “Aww, poor Derpy,” I said, also having a fondness for the wall-eyed pegasus. “Excuse me, are you speaking to us?” the Doctor asked, turning towards us. “No, no, but we don’t mind joining you,” Maul said, trying to help lessen the awkwardness of the situation. Derpy motioned us over. “So, what happened,” I asked. “Well,” Derpy said, “there’s a wedding going on.” “We know,” Blue said, “it’s between Cranky and Matilda.” Derpy nodded. “Well,” Derpy continued, “I told Cranky I could get the invitations printed for cheap, but the problem was that meant I had to get somepony with no experience using a printing press. That’s why there’s this big mix-up with the invitations.” She bowed her head in embarrassment. “Oh, I wish there was a way I could go back in time and fix all this!” The Doctor tapped the front of his muzzle with his hoof in contemplation. “Derpy, my dear, I believe I know just how to fix this!” He shouted triumphantly. “Of course, we’ll deal with it after lunch.” We sat down with them, not having a lunch of our own when the Doctor stared contemplatively at me. I thought nothing of it until the walk to his house. “You two aren’t fooling anyone. You’re genetic creations of long dead species who have gained the ability to carve out your own lives, no doubt a result of you being able to speak. One thing is certain about you two, though, you’re much more civil than most members of your species. I can tell by looking at Maul that he was once fierce, but has changed now. I myself am not what I say I am. I’m a Time Lord, or rather, the fragment of one, the result of a regeneration after my ninth form was destroyed. I was ‘born’ here around the time of Star Swirl the Bearded. I met Celestia and Luna as a unicorn and pegasus filly back before they were what they are today. A century later, I met Derpy and we fell in love, we have several wonderful children, one of which is helping organize the wedding. Some of them will be attending the wedding, although our third-oldest has to stay home due to sickness caused by time travel.” “I told you not to bring Dinky back to prehistoric times,” Derpy chided. “Well, we’re going to go now,” I said. We turned and walked away from the group, waving them goodbye. “Alright, I’ll see you around you two!” The Doctor yelled back. We walked away and found ourselves walking amongst the beauty of Ponyville. We looked up at a nearby mountain and saw Canterlot. We noticed a set of chariots leaving it. No doubt the princesses were coming to the wedding. The idea that they weren’t born princesses astounded me. Maul and I watched the princesses, with their royal guards, fly down to Ponyville. We tried to rush forward to meet them but were blocked by the citizens of Ponyville. The Cutie Mark Crusaders were among the crowd, as were Octavia and Amethyst Star, no doubt the daughter the Doctor mentioned. Indy, Liza, and the Mane Six have gathered around. I realized that this must have been a rendezvous spot for the group. “Do we know what they’re on about?” Octavia asked. Apple Bloom answered her, “The way they’re huddled up like that, I’d say it’s either a friendship problem or a monster attack.” “A monster attack?!” Octavia gasped, “Blast! I’m performing at the ceremony this afternoon, and I still haven’t sorted out what to play. How am I meant to practice with a monster invading Ponyville?” “Maybe it’s just a friendship problem, and it’ll all be cleared up in half an hour or so,” Sweetie Belle said, gaining a chuckle out of me. Suddenly, the monster appeared. It appeared to be a cross between a bee and a bear. Maul and I scurried away from the fight. I turned to look behind me when I saw Maul leaping at the creature, lending his aid in the fight. I continued to crawl away from the scene until I was heading in the direction of the princesses. On the way, I ran into Cranky. “You there,” Cranky called out, catching my attention, “I need you to help me.” “What with?” I asked. “Well, with getting everything settled for the wedding, of course!” Cranky shouted, clearly worried about the wedding. “Alright, well what do you need help with?” I asked him. I need someone to clear the way so I can get through the crowd. I looked behind me and I could see that the crowd dispersed itself due to the fighting, likely due to the falling Raptor and Indominus rexes. “Never mind then.” I shrugged it off and continued running on my way to the princesses. I soon reached them. “Well, hello there!” Princess Celestia greeted me. “Who are you?” “I’m Blue, your majesty,” I said, “A humble Raptor that considers herself a major fan of yours.” The sun princess giggled. “But, not more so than you, Luna. To me, you are truly the best princess.” Luna smiled at me as Celestia giggled again. “C’mon Blue,” Celestia said, “walk with us, talk with us. Tell me, where’d you come from?” “Well, I’m not from this world,” I explained, “I’m actually from the human world. I’m a Velociraptor, a long-extinct species that was brought to life. I’m the youngest member of my species to be as friendly as I am. Most members of my species at my age are vicious killers. My mate was like that, back when he was corrupt. He turned good long before he met me. Kinda like you, Luna.” Luna blushed at this, realizing that I knew about Nightmare Moon. “How’d you know about my turn?” She asked. “Because I knew you as cartoon characters before I met you,” I explained. “In my world, you ponies are nothing but cartoon creatures. Sorry to startle you about that, but it’s true.” “I understand,” Princess Celestia said, “it seems unusual, but I do understand.” I smiled at her, happy that she understood my predicament. Soon, we had reached where the battle with the creature began. Suddenly, a large booming sound echoed throughout Ponyville. It grew louder and louder as we entered the Town Hall, where the ponies were gathered. There were a lot fewer than I had expected. The booming sound continued to grow, to near deafening levels as several ponies entered their seats, seemingly catapulted in, along with Vinyl and Octavia. The sound from the machine Vinyl left a ringing in my ear. Maul ran into the room by my side. “How’d it go?” I asked him. “We defeated the Bugbear with barely any trouble!” Maul shouted, loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone let out a cheer at the news. I looked around and noticed that my family, with the exception of Maul, and the Mane Six were still absent. I knew that my family was waiting at the castle, so I wasn’t worried about them. Mayor Mare was at the front of the room, surely taking the place of the bishop. Cranky and Matilda were at her sides, looking back at the audience. “Well, is everypony here?” Mayor Mare asked. I heard the door close behind us. “All set, Mayor!” Derpy announced. “Dearly beloved,” Mayor Mare started, “we are gathered here today to join these two in maretrimony. As I look around this room, I can only imagine how uncomfortable Cranky must be.” I heard laughter from some parts of the room. “But I also see so many ponies from all trots of life, brought together by love. Cranky searched all across this great land of ours to find Matilda, and no matter what obstacles kept them apart, love would finally bring them together, just as it has brought all of us together now. It's remarkable to me how a story like Cranky's search for Matilda could fill this room with such a unique collection of ponies! It makes you realize that everypony is the star of their own story. And it's not just the main characters in our stories that make life so rich! It's everypony – those who play big parts and those who play small. If it weren't for everypony in this room and many more who couldn't be here today, Cranky and Matilda's lives wouldn't be as full and vibrant as they are.” I smiled at the group. I may not personally know them, but I felt like I knew them well enough to consider them my friends. “And so, in front of all these loved ones... Cranky, do you take this donkey to be your lawfully wedded wife?” “You bet I do!” Cranky said. Mayor Mare turned to Matilda. “And do you, Matilda, take this donkey to be your lawfully wedded husband?” the Mayor asked. “I do!” Matilda said, tearing up. “Then I'm proud to say, I now pronounce you jack and jenny!” Mayor Mare announced. Cranky and Matilda kissed, as Maul and I had our first real kiss. Fireworks went off during our kiss, but I was too busy listening to Maul’s calm, warm, beating heart to pay attention. I knew then that whatever Equestria had to throw at us, we would be ready to face it together.
