In My Eyes

Celestia finished her morning task of raising the sun. She looked out over Canterlot as the colors from the sunrise danced over the rooftops. She smiled, happy to be able to protect this fair land. Suddenly she felt a gentle nuzzling against her side. The princess giggled happily and looked into the kitten like eyes of her lover. He was a tall white alicorn, with brown feathered wings, brown horn, brown eyes, and a cutie mark that looked like a blood moon. His wings sparkled with stars, and his short brown main swayed just slightly on the breeze. Odd red runic marks drifted around his body. She nuzzled him back. As much as she loved him she knew that she was the only one who trusted him.

Luna would not stop telling Celestia to leave him. The creature was not really an alicorn at all, but a dragonic creature with vampiric tendencies who was genetically engineered to kill anything in its path. Yet he did not... he rarely hurt anything. When he is in control he is docile, and expresses kitten like behavior. He was... way to adorable for this world r any other. Except when he lost control of himself. That is why everyone, including my sister and Stardust's own friends fear him, they have seen him loose control. They know how dangerous he can be. But I know I don't need to fear him...

~The memory~

Stardust was in his true form, a pale white dragon who gave off no heat as his scales were never alive to begin with. His eyes were blood red and his fangs hungry for blood. He chased anything living so that he might take their life to replenish that which he never had. The creatures wings emitted and energy that eclipsed all light, making the suns glow a deep red. His aura prevented the use of all magic in the area. He truly was TERRIFYING. Anything in his path was destroyed. Then he came to Celestia, hissing and growling. Fear filled her eyes. This is it... the true form of my love... what have I done? Giving my heart to this? Allowing it to marry me?

But when he drew near, he saw the fear in her eyes. His expression mellowed, his eyes seemed saddened by her fearful tears... "I am a monster... as you said... I must be... I truly am... I hurt my love... my heart..." he cried. His eyes turned back from red to brown, and the white creature coiled around her and purred softly. She could tell he no longer had memory of what just happened, but she knew that the only thing that stopped his rampage was his love for her and unwillingness to harm her. She was afraid at first... but then she remembered that he was in control until she called him a monster. When she learned what he was, she rejected him, it hurt him, he lost control of himself. But when he truly terrified her, he turned back and tried to comfort her. Though she knew that when his eyes were normal they could not remember what happened while they were red. Yet he could feel it, deep down within him, he could somehow feel that she was afraid then. So now he tried to comfort her, She understood now, he only wanted her to be happy. And it was her love for him that kept him from loosing control, but when he feared he had lost it... he lost himself. "I am sorry, I do love you. You are not a monster, you are just a creature who is afraid of himself, unsure of what he is. But as long as you have my love... you know who you are."

Since that day she stayed at his side, and even though he had not lost control sense... people kept pressuring her to leave the monster. But he was not one. She had pressured Stardust's friend, the human Isaiah, to explain what he was. All the human knew was that Stardust was experimented on in horrific ways, they wanted to make a merciless killing machine who wielded great power... but they failed. Instead they created a creature who was to confused to know what he was, and only desired to find his purpose. Then the human told Celestia that she was the purpose the creature found. It never told her about its true form because with her it forgot the pain of the past and forgot its other form. Only the form of the alicorn was real for it when it was with her. Because it loved her that was the only form that mattered to it so the others faded away.

She decided that she would never again hurt him, as he would never hurt her.

~The present~

Celestia gave Stardust a little kiss on the cheek. "I love you, you are perfect to me. You mean everything to me. You are perfect in my eyes." She nuzzled into his chest and he pulled her into a hug.

"But I will never be as perfect as you, you are the most amazing of creatures." he said, "Celestia, you are my sun, the only thing that I hold on to." These were the most words he had ever spoken at once. His mind never really processed things well... but with her it he was better. With her he could feel, he could think... she was his whole world. Normally Stardust could not feel touch, but her felt hers... and he loved the feeling her touch gave him. He could never be happier.

Luna watched hidden in the shadows, she did not like or trust that creature... but she had to admit, it protected Celestia well. The creature never slept, not even for a moment. It always stood over Celestia and watched her in her sleep. Once at night while Luna was away an assassin tried to harm Celestia, but Stardust destroyed him first. No pony could harm Celestia, because if you angered that creature... no pony could stand against it. And any pony who wished to harm it's love... faced it's wrath...
