Tokyo Bay Human Era 10:29 P.M.
"I remember that day, the day humanity drew its last breath. They challenged me, they finally united. It wasn't enough to save them though.
They brought their weapons tanks, fighters, and other annoyances. The waters edge glowed with their plasma and bombs. I rose from my domain and let out a roar. Not in anger, not in aggression, but in recognition. They brought a fighting force so I would acknowledge it. Then they fired upon me, a fatal mistake.
Tokyo Bay 10:15 P.M.
General Tomota lifted his binoculars and scanned the dark waters. "Sonar reports Commander." He barked. A nearby soldier holding a portable punched in some commands.
"We have something sir high radiation levels, and temperature!" The commander reported. "The size is massive it has to be him." The commander put the terminal down and lifted a rocket launcher. "We'll be ready for him sir."
Tomota nodded "Second squad deploy, maser tanks fire when ready!" Green lights lit across his visor. The general turned to look back out at the bay. The water began to rise in a sort of cone, like a giant torpedo was approaching the shore. Suddenly Red spikes protruded and dark green and black scales became visible.
"General second squad in position ready to fire." The comms crackled. Tomota's visor highlighted a section of warehouses near the river. A group of soldiers with heavy weapons were setting up.
Another highlighted area appeared, the maser tank battery. The maser weapon system was the crowning achievement of human kind. The phaser systems would freeze that monstrosity, then the standard maser, and heat phaser would take him down. "Lets fry that damn lizard!" He yelled. The tanks raised their dish shaped main guns and glowed with plasma energy.
"Sir Godzilla!" Tomota snarled and turned. Godzilla had risen to his full height, he had gotten even larger than the intelligence wing had said. "A 250 meter tall target, let's ice him!" The maser commander ordered. Godzilla roared causing the earth to shake. Several streams of chilled plasma shot out in response. The plasma coated the beasts chest and lower torso, but he continued his slow approach towards the mainland.
"Damn that lizard! Heat phasers, and masers open fire! Second squad open fire! I want every damn weapon we have on that monstrosity!" Fighter jets, helicopters, rocket tanks, and multiple forms of infantry units fired all at once. Godzilla let out one loud shriek then the build up of smoke hid his body from view.
The radiation meters in the generals visors skyrocketed. "Brace in coming he's still alive and hes returning-" He was cut off by the platform he was on being shook by a massive impact. "Report! What the hell was that?!"
An officer looked up from her terminal face pale, and frightened. "Sir... The nuclear winter, it's finally happened."
Tomota swore violently "What do we do Lieutenant?" The officer shook her head. This was followed by more swearing.
The general looked out at his men, the world seemed to go silent. from inland a great billowing storm of radiation plowed through the city. Then the glow caught his eye, he turned to see Godzilla's head rear back his spike glowing a bright blue and radiated plasma licked the monsters lips. All at once the tanks were struck by a beam of radiated fire, they melted the screams of the men cut off by melted equipment.
The commander lifted his launcher and knelt next to his superior officer. "I'm going to give that damn lizard something to remember me by!" He aimed and 'Shuhlump' noise sounded as the rocket raised out.
Godzilla was irritated, he had come out curiosity over the large scale of radiation that was coming this way. He wasn't l looking to fight humanity, but as always his appearance was seen as a threat. It was simply annoying all of it, the tanks kept shooting those cheap copies of his own radioactive breath. The fighters kept buzzing over his head, and those little humans on their building kept hitting him with exploding rocks. So he had to respond in the only fashion that would stop the humans from shooting him, with fatal power.
Godzilla swept his head along the shore line a stream of radiation following melting all that opposed him. Then another exploding rock hit him, in the eye. The blast did little more than irritate his vision. He turned to look at a tall tower the smoke tail told him that was where the human had shot from. "A big tower? The human leader will be there. They always make those noises, but I am past understanding. They always seem to curse my existence, yet they are the blight." He closed his eyes and sighed. Then opened his mouth slightly and began drawing in energy.
Tomota knew what was coming, he knew Godzilla had spotted them. He closed his eyes thinking of all the fighting, all the death. He thought back to the original Godzilla attack. How that scientist, what was his name? In all his years of commanding troops he had never asked for the name of the man who sacrificed himself to stop the original Godzilla. "A pity, our mistakes have caught up to us." He looked out to stare into the eyes of Godzilla. The monster hadn't fired after all instead it watched him. He had moved up towards the tower and was staring right at the General. "Those eyes, their much more intelligent looking than the original. There's something about the way he's looking at me, is that pity?"
The radiation clouds engulfed the tower, death was instantaneous. All at once the sounds of humanity stopped. Godzilla looked around, everywhere the humans had been now there was nothing. Their buildings remain, but their flesh was gone. He now had access to unlimited radiation, yet it felt empty. He didn't understand these thoughts. He should be glad that the pests were gone. Instead all that was left was a great exhaustion. He felt hollow victory, for in that last glance that human, the leader seemed to understand him. The natural energies he read from all living things had changed. That one human had accepted his fate, but was it truly a fate they deserved? "Enough I grow tired of these thought! He turned and receded into the ocean, he swam deep and far until he found the trench. The resting place of his father, and his fathers father. He laid down and closed his eyes. Then he slept, he didn't know how long he would sleep, he didn't care.
