The Return Of The Dark Prince
Twilight was sitting across from her friends in the map room inside her castle, she was going to talk about the strange book that she had found earlier today but Pinkie Pie had other ideas on what to talk about. She was her normal energetic self as usual like every other day. “So today me and gummy decided to throw a---” during Pinkie’s energetic phase, Twilight had to interrupt she didn’t want to but she rather get the feeling off her chest.
“Pinkie hang on to that thought for a second.” says twilight. She felt a little rude interrupting Pinkie, her tone was apologetic when she spoke. She takes a long breath before continuing with what she was going to say, she wasn’t sure how her friends would react to her news.
Apple Jack the pony to Twilight's left side, grew a little impatient with Twilight and blurted out. “Whats going on twi there mus be sumthin you wanna tell us.” she exclaims, forcing Twilight to come forward with the news she had inside of her mind that she most desperately wanted to get rid of.
“Well you see, i was going through the library in Canterlot. I found a little black journal where Celestia had written some very questionable things.” Twilight finally admits to the group. The reactions of the group was not what twilight had thought that they would be, she left them puzzled and in a mystery over what was inside.
Rarity building up the voice after a moment of confusion, she begins to speak what the others had on their minds as well…..well maybe not in the same context. “Like what darling? Please do continue.” says Rarity. The others nod their head in agreement towards Twilight, she once again took another breath but not a long as the last one.
“You see girls, Celestia wrote some things about the Crystal Empire before Princess Cadence took over control. She had spoken of the evil unicorn king, King Sombra and well she had also written somepony else one we haven't heard of before.” she leaves the group in suspense for a little while before continuing back on with her sentence. “It doesn't really give his name all it says is the Dark Prince, and that he was the SON of the King.” explains Twilight, she feels a little better now that she had gotten it off her chest but she wasn't finished yet.
“A SON.” Rainbow Dash says in surprise. “So do we have to hunt him down too?” she asks ready to go on to another adventure with her friends, and ready to impress Princess Celestia. Twilight shook her head and began to explain.
“According to the book he was banished to Tartarus, so we won’t have to. Also inside the book there was descriptions of the crimes he and King Sombra committed while they were in rule, i know i saw mention of spilled blood.” says twilight now getting into the subject that she wanted desperately out of her mind. She cringes as the thoughts she had gotten from the book and it sends chills down her back.
“Oh-my was that all in the book, or was there sumthin else that was in that book of yours?” asks Applejack now curious. She must have thought that there was more to it then just that or there wouldn’t be a whole book on it. Twilight nods her head she had just remembered the spell that came through the book.
“Yeah now that you mention it, there was a spell by the ‘Dark Prince’ i tried to cast it but nothing worked it must have been a false spell.” recalls Twilight as she remembers the spell fading out. Then another thought comes through her mind, like what if she had tried harder would it have worked then or if she missed a certain instruction that was there for the spell to have worked. She thinks of going back and grabbing the book and trying again in front of her friends.
She walks back to her own library along with her friends, each of them curious to see what twilight had been talking about and each of them having their own ideas about what was inside the book as well. They trot over to the already open door that leads into a massive room filled to the brim with books, but lying closed on a circular table was Celestia’s black book.
Eagerly the all walk over to it, surrounding it like it was a something of great value to them. Twilight uses her magic and opens the book flipping the pages, she stops on one particular page it was the page that held the spell she takes another look over of the page and she noticed something that she had missed.
Twilight begins to read the instructions out loud, making sure she did not miss a single thing this time. “Think of darkness and hatred while you cast if all works you shall have passed.” she reads. There is a weird look coming from the crowd of friends as Twilight read the sentence.
“I think i'm going to do it again, or should i?” asks Twilight, now she has second thoughts on performing the spell. She wonders if doing the spell something bad would happen to them or if they get transported somewhere, she calms herself down and looks to her friends for their advice.
“I-i don’t think you should do it Twilight. What if it spawns a monster or makes you go mad or or or.” says Fluttershy thinking of every possibility for things to go wrong, Rainbow Dash rolls her eyes and sighs.
“Come on Fluttershy we have to figure this out sometime.” exclaims Rainbow dash. She herself was very eager to find out what the spell’s secrets where. She looks a Twilight for her to make a decision. Twilight still wasn’t sure on what to do with the spell, she looks at Rarity and Applejack for their opinion.
“Well twi i myself am a mighty interested in what there is, what can i say i'm more curious than a cat.” says Applejack with a smile.
“Go ahead darling, i can’t believe im saying this but i agree with Applejack i am curious myself.” says Rarity. Twilight nods her head she will try to do the spell once more now the correct way.
She puts her face right in front of the book squinting her eyes, she flares up her horn which was almost too much for her the spell took a lot of concentration and mind control. She does as the instructions had told her to do, in her mind she pictured to her what darkness and hatred was, she begins to grunt from the amount of force she is putting into to the spell. Her horn gives off a bubble like dome of just red mist, then came the noise of a thousand lightning bolts striking all at once.
Fluttershy ducks for cover as the rest of her friends stand in awe mouths dropped wide open, as the red mist became smaller and went inside the book causing it to spin on the table violently. A very ferocious wind came through the book blowing their manes around wildly, and even causing the books to fly off their shelves. The ferocious wind came with a thundering sound blowing almost everything over in the library.
Just like that everything died down in a snap, but as soon as it went out the book stopped spinning and from the pages formed a large red horizontal portal that took up the whole table. It sent the 6 friends jumping backwards in surprise, then a very blinding red mist poured out from the portal it begun to take shape as well. It formed a grey pony with red hair the eyes of the pony glowed red as fire and as bright as the sun, the pony let out a very loud and demonic roar as though it was an angry god.
The portal closes behind the grey pony, and a very wicked smile forms on the mouth of the pony and it begins to laugh. It laughed like a mad scientist about to commit an evil scheme. “AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAGH!!! YES I'M FREE FINALLY FREE!! FREE FROM THAT PRISON AT LAST!! AHAHAHAHAAAA” shouts the pony. Now looking around his surroundings, also noticing the six ponies in front of him. At first he is very surprised, but the smile dissipates as soon as he glances at twilight. “Another alicorn?” the pony says.

“Wh-who are you?” asks Twilight. She was trying to find the right way to form her words, she was too shocked to think of anything else to say in response to what had just happened. The grey pony looks at her now with a normal more official looking posture after his outburst of pure joy, he straightens his red visor cap and clears his voice.
“What surely you have heard of me, one would think so at least.” the grey pony responds to Twilight's question. He now smiles and jumps down off of the crystal table he was standing on his hooves hitting the floor, the grey pony extends his hoof to Twilight expecting a hoof back. “The name is Prince Blitz Verfolgen heir to throne of the Crystal Empire, thrilled to meet you.” says Prince Blitz. He looks at the crowd expecting the ponies to bow before him now that they knew who he was, but when they didn’t he had taken notice of their rudeness.
Twilight did not know what to think or what to expect now that she was face to face with a pony literally straight from Tartarus, she returns the hoof back and shakes hooves with blitz. She shakes herself out of her confused state and now in the presence of the enemy. “You you are the son of the evil King Sombra!!” accuses Twilight.
“Ohhh that is a bingo, my father is the great King” the grey pony responds slowly realizing that he might have made an enemy his first few minutes outside of his prison, he prepares inside of his mind each attack he would play if they tried to attack him. “Why is there something wrong with that, i am guessing Princess.” asks Blitz. He was trying to look the pony up and down to get a measure of her worth, along with the others.
“You're not going to hurt us are you.” Fluttershy’s voice suddenly crackles to life. She was making sure that this wasn’t a scary monster that she would have hide from, Prince Blitz walks over to the lightish yellow Pegasus with him self confused. He offers his hoof for her to help herself off of the floor.
“No no no no, i would never do anything to hurt a fellow Pegasus we have to look out for our own kind sister.” Prince Blitz responds. Fluttershy wasn’t his sister though, he was just using the term that all Pegasi were brothers and sisters. He gives her a welcoming smile and pats her on the back as she rises from the floor. “But i warn you, ALL of you. Don't ever and i mean ever cross me for it shall not be pretty.” Prince Blitz says now his voice turning stern.
Now that the introduction was out of the way Prince Blitz decides it would be best for him to leave and try to go back to his kingdom. He tries to leave for the door, but not before rainbow dash takes off in front of him closing the doors and guarding it so he will not leave.
“Listen here buster i'm not letting you through this door.” says Rainbow Dash. Price Blitzes face turns into an angry frown and his eyes glow a dark bright red, he looks at her waiting for her next move.
“Oh and why not.” says Prince Blitz. He gives Rainbow Dash a menacing stare like she had insulted him, he raised his one eyebrow expecting a quick response. He grows impatient now after his question was not answered in the time frame that he had wanted, he opens his mouth revealing the rows of sharp fangs dripping with a little saliva. “Listen here, these are not meant for show they are meant for ripping open the necks of disobedient slaves. I do not want to hurt a fellow Pegasus but don’t think i won’t hesitate here sister." says Prince Blitz adding a scare factor.
“Hey hey, no need for violence.” interrupts Twilight. She tries her best to try and defuse the situation, she had no idea on what this pony was capable of and tried to calm everything down before she would find out. She walks into the middle separating Rainbow Dash and Prince Blitz, she faces Prince Blitz now she was a little angry over what he had just mentioned. “What do you mean, disobedient slaves Prince?” asks Twilight. She had time to replay the words over in her head before speaking, she wanted to make sure she wasn't accusing him of anything. The facial expressions gave it all away that he was guilty for what he had said, he gives a more of an happy smile like it was the only thing that made his day.
“You see, when slaves are unwilling to follow me or my father’s orders the slave is brought before me. I use my fangs that i sharpen every day, and i grip the neck and rip it wide open the i suck all the blood that was inside the neck and on the floor then eat the ripped flesh. Oh the good ole times.” responds Prince Blitz. He licks his lips and fangs, and nearly drools to the thought of the warm blood he would drink.
Twilight gasps in shock and disgust and so do the others after what they had just heard, then Twilight turns to Rainbow Dash and whispers something into her ear, ‘go to spike and have him send an urgent letter to Princess Celestia.’ is the message that she gives. She should have had said it out loud because Prince Blitz heard everything that she said but did not mention it until Rainbow Dash flew out of the room. He once again lets out another demonic laugh.
“Hahahahhahaha, you-you really think that Celestia could stop me twice. That’s rich.” laughs Prince Blitz. He has a little flash back to the night where he was banished to the Tartarus dimension, a shiver goes running through him but he still does not lose his smile. “The fact that you think she will actually protect you makes me laugh.” Prince Blitz quickly adds.
Prince Blitz looks for other options to make his escape before he is trapped, he knows first hand what the alicorn magic can do to a pony and the severe consequences it would bring. Finally he spots it an open window in the back of the library the only problem that it was behind Applejack,Pinkie and Rarity. He spreads out his wings and braces for a back words pounce.
“Don’t you even think about it, you are going to wait for Celestia here.” commands Twilight. She charges her horn with a holding spell to keep him in place, Prince Blitz squints his eyes choosing the right moment to jump.
Everything seemed to have slowed down, as soon as she fired her magic he jumped out into the sky. The magic bolt hits Rarity holding her in place while Twilight charges for another go, but Prince Blitz came around kicking Twilight down to the floor causing her charging spell to dissipate. He spins like a hoof-ball through the air giving him a little more speed and flies straight out the open window, he flew so fast that he made the sound of crackling lightning as he flew out.
Twilight now in pain from the kick she had received, slowly rises off of the floor groaning in pain as she undoes the spell that held Rarity in place. Pinkie and Applejack rush over to aid their friend who was hurt. They helped her sit down on a nearby chair that Rarity had turned upright from the storm, Rainbow Dash comes back into the room as fast as she could and sees that one of her friends was hurt and it fills her with rage.
“Don’t worry Celestia is on her way as we speak.” says Rainbow Dash. Hopping her words gave if any a little bit of encouragement to her friends, she sits down herself they all surround Twilight waiting for the arrival of Princess Celestia who hopefully knew what to do.
About 30 minutes have passed and walking into the library comes Princess Celestia a sight for their sore eyes, her face was more serious than happy to see her faithful student and fellow princess. She walks over to the group of friends escorted by two of her royal guards.
“What is going on here?” her voice was very stern. She looks at Twilight for an answer her eyes in an almost angry stare.
“I was going through the Canterlot Library, i found a black book with no title or anything i took it with me home to read. I did a spell that was inside and it opened a portal to Tartarus and a pony came out by the name Prince Blitz Verfolgen.” says Twilight in her defense.
Princess Celestia goes wide eyed and mumbles under breath an ‘oh no’ which was heard, she looks at the Captain of her royal guard Flash Sentry and whispers into his ear as she bends her neck down to his level, she whispers ‘send for more guards to Ponyville at once’. She then looks back at twilight, “Do you know who you had just brought back to our world?” asks Celestia.
"No-no i don't. He told us his name and from what we learned in the book---" Twilight was cut off by Celestia in a harsh manner. When she spoke Twilight backed off, Celestia then looks at the messy library a result from the library she walks to the black book that lying on the table, she uses her magic from her horn and levitates the book and opens it flipping through pages.
"Listen Twilight, that.....that pony is a demonic creature from the deepest pit of Tartarus, he is the son of Sombra and not only the king but another pony as well. He is the son of Queen Shadows a pony just as cold hearted as Sombra himself, he was born and raised up to know only how fight and burn. he trained his whole life to fight and to show no weakness. His whole mind is based off of the destruction of cities who oppose him." she tries to explain to Twilight. She tries to make it very clear that this will not be pretty.
"What do we do then yer highness?" Applejack asked. She thinks of her ranch that would be destroyed if this pony wasn't caught, she doesn't wanna see that happen she spent her whole childhood there and made some lasting memories there as well. Princess Celestia thinks for a moment and like a light bulb went off in her head.
"This task will not be an easy one but you six will not do it alone, i have a plan but Twilight might not like it as much." says Princess Celestia. She looks at the group with serious eyes there was no time for making jokes though, this pony needed to be caught before the town of Ponyville burns. "i remember sending him to his prison deep within Tartarus and turned his father to shadow, there is nothing more that this pony wants then his revenge. He won't stop until he has succeeded, i-i will have to be the bait to lure him out of the shadows." says Celestia fumbling with her words.
"WHAT! but you can't i will be the bait instead." shouts Rainbow Dash in retaliation. she was truly loyal to her princess that she would even possibly die for her, but Princess Celestia's serious frown turns into a small smirk as she lets out a very low chuckle.
"I'm sorry Rainbow Dash, but you have not turned his only way of life upside down. Besides it is me he wants not you, you haven't hurt him like i did." she says. she returns to her serious expressions and starts to think of how this plan was going to play out, she has a couple of ideas but nothing concrete so far.
