Disagreements

Rarity watched in awe as Twilight animated a pony doll with her magic. She looked up at her own horn then at Twilight's. This prompted her to speak, "It's amazing how the Goddess has blessed you, Twilight. "

Twilight was confused. What was Rarity talking about? "Goddess?"

"Why, yes," Rarity replied. "The Goddess is who gave ponies their magic. Don't you know that?"

Twilight rolled her eyes. "Magic came to be when the universe came to be. No one created it, no one gave it to ponies, nothing. It was all random."

Rarity shook her head in disagreement. "Twilight, darling, if magic existed randomly, why do Unicorns have magic that require a horn while Pegasi have magic that require wings?

Twilight scoffed. "Easy. All ponies were Earth Ponies at first, but we evolved separately to accommodate our magic energy. Unicorns grew horns while Pegasi grew wings.

Applejack walked in and asked, "Twilight, do ya have the almanac for this year?"

Twilight used her magic to grab the almanac and told Applejack, "Tell Rarity magic didn't originate from a goddess."

Applejack chuckled and said, "Rarity, magic didn't originate from a goddess."

"Someone else agrees-" Twilight started saying.

Applejack interrupted her saying "It started because of God."

Twilight groaned. "What has gotten in with you two? What proof do you have that anyone crated magic?

Rarity's answer was, "magic is too well designed for it to be random. It just makes more sense for there to be a Goddess."

Applejack's answer was, "Holy Equestria said so, and I believe that book is true."

Twilight buried her face in her hooves. "That book is fictional."

"No it ain't!" Applejack insisted. "It's the book of truth. I live my life according to it."

"The same book that said we we made from magic?" Rarity asked, holding back laughter.

Applejack nodded confidently, "We were."

"We started out as single cellular organisms before we evolved into ponies."

Rarity nodded, "Twilight is correct. We evolved by the hoof of the Goddess and will continue to evolve until she's fully satisfied."

Applejack shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Alright, Rares, what makes you so confident the creator was female?"

"The Origin of Magic says she is," Rarity answered.

"You two are basing your beliefs around a book," Twilight quipped. "I have scientific data to back my beliefs up."

"Scientists don't agree with the origin of magic," Applejack remarked.

Twilight shrugged, "That's true. However, there's absolutely no evidence that it was crated by a sentient being." Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash walked in, but Twilight didn't notice them. "There is evidence suggesting that magic came to be when the universe came to be."

"Magic existed because six pony gods created them," Pinkie Pie stated. "There's tons of evidence backing that up."

"Oh yeah? Like what?" Twilight said, smirking.

Pinking cleared her throat. "First, There are six elements of harmony. Six. Second, only ponies have magic, Third, Most ponies have three of the same cutie mark on each side, adding up to six. Fourth... fourth..." Pinkie looked down in defeat. "I only got three reasons."

"There's no gods," Rainbow disagreed. Twilight nodded, but Rainbow continued, "Magic exists in the food we eat. Every animal has magic, but only ponies know how to use it."

Twilight looked at Rainbow in confusion. "No it doesn't."

"I'm with Twilight," Fluttershy added quietly. "Magic is too random. It had to exist by chance without a creator. I certainly don't believe it exists in our food. Tirek would have taken magic from the food and other animals if that were true."

"Our chaos is the Goddess's organization," Rarity argued.

"Well, she has a messed up sense of organization if she were real," Fluttershy quipped.

"What do you think, Spike?" Twilight asked.

Spike, who has been sleeping, rolled over so his back was to the mares and muttered, "Don't know, don't care."

The six ponies continued arguing about the origin of magic. No one would give in. Every one of them were confident that they were right and the others were wrong. The friction turned into screaming and name calling.  Spike kept tossing and turning until he gave up sleeping.

He stood up, upset, and got in the middle of the six arguing ponies. "Who cares if magic was created by random, by the food we eat, or by some god or whatever? No one knows for certain who's right, so there's going to be disagreement. We may not have the same faiths, but we do share a lot in common. For one, we're all friends, and friends don't let things like this get between them."

Twilight sighed, "Spike is right. I believe what I believe, and you all believe what you believe. There's no sense in arguing about this.

Applejack nodded, "Spike and Twilight are right. This is getting ridiculous."

Rarity looked down in shame, "I am truly sorry for starting this argument."

"I'm the one who pulled everypony in," twilight admitted.

The six ponies group hugged each other. Spike went back to sleep.
