After the Dark King Sombra's Cultist overtook the Crystal Empire, their spies and infiltrators preventing the Equestrian Army from stopping them, King Sombra was resurrected. With his resurrection, came a dark tide that washed over Equestria's borders and overthrew the princesses. However, what remained of the Nobles loyal to the Royal Family managed to smuggle them out before Sombra's forces could possibly find them.

A year has passed, since the conquering of Equestria, only corruption and injustice reign surpreme in the once peaceful Kingdom. Many are forced into slavery, under the tyrannical rule of Sombra and those that have sworn to him. Those who rebel are often crushed by the undead forces of those that once served Equestria, or forced to strike in unnoticeable manners. Many being trained in the art of guerilla warfare, while others remain in their hidden base.

Though, unknown to both sides, Justice seems to have taken matters into her own hands and summoned a Champion. One who had sworn themselves to be a Paragon of Justice, become judge, jury, and executioner to the wicked and protect the innocent. A Lawbringer has come to Equestria, with a Legion worth of soldiers at his command, but are these warriors truly going to be their salvation? After all, their symbol bears the ever violent Warhawk and their Lord bears the insignia of a "Wolf" upon his armor.
