YHaY: From the Depths
Prologue
Load Full Story[Delta's POV]
The explosion of the hallway leading to the life boat had blinded me while I felt the floor beneath me give way to the ocean that surrounded it. When I regained my vision, I was surrounded by the salt water and falling. I grabbed a part of the railing on the life boat as it ascended the ocean floor. I held as tight as I could to the railing, watching Fontaine Futuristics fall into the abyss as the life boat rose past it.
Fontaine Futuristics was the birth place of the big daddies, including me. We were all created there, fused into these diving suits and brainwashed. Now, as it falls, I know I wouldn't have it any other way. Being bonded with Eleanor was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
I reached past the railing and grabbed onto the grated steps. The water rushing around way to strong to stand up in, so I continued to crawl my way up towards the center to the life boat, using anything to make my way there. I eventually made it to the center room of the life boat. The room was almost completely filled with water and it had walls of glass to see out of.
I looked in and saw the woman responsible for all mine and Eleanor's pain. Sofia Lamb. He was holding her breath and desperately trying to reach the surface of the room where there was air. But Eleanor in her big sister suit swam up and put and oxygen mask to her face. I had taught her well. Making my way through Rapture, I had made examples for her to always forgive others, no matter what they have done. Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, Gil Alexander, all of them. I gave them all a second chance. For me, mercy was victory.
I put my hand on the glass, as Eleanor swam up to it, also putting her hand on the window. We looked up as the light engulfed my vision. A light that Eleanor has never seen. The sun.
The surface of the water hit me hard as I fell on my back from the force. When I opened my eyes, Eleanor was standing over me, smiling. She knew what she should do. I was far too tired from my time in Rapture and with the bond between us having been severed by Sofia, I would die soon. I had taught her all I needed to. She now knew that everybody deserved a chance at redemption. She placed the large syringe on her arm onto the port in my helmet and glided the needle into my chest. The bottle on the syringe began filling up with ADAM as my vision melted away, with Eleanor's face being the last thing I see.
I can only hope I was a good father, Eleanor.
