It was the last half day before summer vacation at Canterlot High, and the humane seven were having an early dismissal party, which was hosted by the usual party girl herself named Pinkie Pie. They had a blast and spent quality time together.
When they were about to pack their things, they heard the intercom saying for only them to report to the gym for an important meeting. They came inside the gym and saw the seven chairs on the gym floor and Principal Celestia standing on the stage.
"There you are," Principal Celestia said, "Each of you have a seat please."
They came to the chairs and did so.
"Now, the reason why I called you girls here is that due to many of the marching band members are about to graduate this year," she said as she then came down from the stage and turned to each of the girls, "Fluttershy and Rarity, you two will be our color-guards, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, you two will be playing the clarinets, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie, you three will be playing the brass instruments."
"Which kinds?" Pinkie asked.
"You'll be playing the trombone," said Principal Celestia, "Rainbow will be playing the trumpet, and Applejack will be playing the sousaphone."
"That ain't no surprise," said Applejack.
"Well you are pretty much physically strong," said Sunset.
"And you're the anchor of the Rainbooms," added Rainbow, "Just by playing your bass!"
"Yeah, like she said," agreed Pinkie with a smile, "I can imagine seeing and hearing you play that sousaphone right now!" Then she pretended to play the sousaphone and imitated the sound. "Oompah oompah oompah oompah!" she said as she then marched in one place.
"Okay Pinkie, that's enough," said Principal Celestia with a giggle, "Anyway, we haven't come up with our new show this year yet. So any ideas?"
"Will it have to do with nature?" asked Fluttershy.
"Or circus themed?" asked Pinkie.
"Or maybe fantasy related?" asked Sunset.
"How about something that's science fictional themed?" asked Sci-Twi.
"Or royalty?" asked Rarity.
"Western?" asked Applejack.
"Maybe our school spirit?" asked Rainbow, "That would be cool and awesome!"
"I ain't sure about that, sugarcube," said Applejack, "Usually, most high schools don't do shows that have ta do with their school spirits."
"Well we could be the first," said Rainbow.
"This high school doesn't do school spirit shows," said Principal Celestia, "But we'll try to add some various styles to it."
"Maybe with all of the suggestions combined together?" asked Sunset.
"That's a great compromise, Sunset!" said Principal Celestia, "But we'll have to only place three or four of them together because of the music you five will be playing soon. Sorry girls."
The seven girls were disappointed but they knew she had a good point.
"You girls stay here in the gym and make decisions while I go get Vice Principal Luna," said Principal Celestia as she already went to the gym door and left.

"Well, that's going to be hard," said Sunset, "I mean all of them sound great and all."
"Yeah," agreed Rainbow, "But how will we set them up?"
"Good thing I have my notebook with me," said Sci-Twi, "Plus a pencil and a sharpener." Then she went ahead and drew the tally charts and the show organizer.
"Good thinking, Twilight," said Sunset as she then turned towards the rest of her friends, "Let's vote. Who likes Fluttershy's idea?" She, Fluttershy, and Sci-Twi raised their hands. "Okay, that's three of us," she said, "Who like's my idea?" She, Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy raised their hands. "Four of us," she said.
Sci-Twi tallied out the idea chart.
"Who likes Twilight's idea?" asked Sunset as she and Sci-Twi raised their hands, "Only two of us? Okay then, who likes Rarity's idea?" She and Rarity raised their hands. "Okay? Who likes Applejack's idea?" Applejack and Pinkie raised their hands. "Okay," said Sunset, "Who likes Pinkie's idea?" She, Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow raised their hands. "Wow," she said, "Five of us! That's great! And finally, who like's Rainbow's idea?" Only Rainbow raised her hand. Sunset sighed. "That figures," she said with a disapproving frown.
Sci-Twi continued tally out the idea chart. "Most of us like Pinkie's idea, then your idea, and finally Fluttershy's idea," she said as she read the results, "The top idea for this year's show is Pinkie's circus idea."
Rainbow became jealous. "No fair!" she said, "How come Pinkie's idea gets to be a top idea?"
"Because laughter is the best medicine!" said Pinkie with a smile.
"You're forgetting one thing," said Rainbow with a stern look on her face, "Fluttershy's afraid of clowns!"
"I haven't forgotten that," said Pinkie as she was then getting annoyed, "Besides, I'm sure you're forgetting that a circus is supposed to entertain people, not to scare them away!"
"I already KNOW what the purpose of the circus is!" said Rainbow as she was then getting angry, "It only comes on within a few years anyway!"
Applejack couldn't take it anymore so she whistled very loudly to get their attention. "Y'all two quit yer fussin'!!" she said as she then turned to Rainbow, "And Rainbow, deal with it! Pinkie's idea won fair and square b'cuz of YOUR additional vote!"
"That's because I love seeing motorcycle daredevils doing some daring motorcycle tricks!" said Rainbow, "You gotta admit that they're super awesome!"
"Enough of that!" said Applejack, "Now just drop it, and like I said: Deal with it!"
Rainbow glared at her of course with anger and annoyance. In the exact same feeling, she clinched her teeth together with hard pressure and her eyebrows were also getting tense. Oh boy, she completely lost her temper. "Drop it?!? Deal with it?!?" she said in her raised voice as she went to Applejack while clinching her fist at her. Then she started to shout at her. "HOW CAN I 'DEAL WITH IT' IF I'M TRYING TO SHOW OFF WHO WE REALLY ARE?!?"
Her shout made Applejack angry but tried to calm herself down while trying to settle this. "Please don't shout, sugarcube," she said while she was still tensed up, "It ain't THAT much of a big deal!"
"You know what? I'm outta here," Rainbow said as she walked away from her, "Just to keep my cool anyway." With that, she left the gym.
