Smallfoot's Story

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

We now return to the Transformers...

Sour searched high and low for where her girlfriend ran off but she had no luck. But most of all she was worried sick. Why did her girlfriend freeze when she met that Road Rage chick? Why did tears start forming in her eyes? Why was she slowly moving away from her?

And more importantly, why was Road Rage doing the same thing? Was there something about her girlfriend that reminded her of someone? Was she was someone she knew a long time ago? What? What possible connection could those two have?

Sour didn't have long to think about it when she received a vibrating buzz from her pants pocket. She pulled out her phone and she read the name of who it was from, then answered the phone.

"Hound? What's up?"

"Listen, I was driving down the road when I saw your girlfriend bawling her eyes out. Did you do something to make her cry?"

"No, I didn't. But I think I know what set her off," Sour replied, "She just arrived over to the car show but then she ran off when she met this unidentified Cybertronian girl."

"Wait... unidentified? Describe her."

Sour felt her body freeze when she heard his tone. The way he spoke didn't sound particularly good...

"Um, alright well she... she had lipstick, I remembered that. There were wings on her back, a scratched out Autobot mark... oh and it looked like she was walking around in her underwear since she has a black crotch."

"... odd way to describe her. But anyways, I know she is. But if Smallfoot freaked out because of her... look, just find her and talk to her. I'm positive she'll tell you everything."

"But I don't know where she went," Sour whined, "I don't have anything on me to track her..."

"Well she did tell me she was going straight back to your house--"

"Yes! Thank you Hound!"

"Wait, there's something else. From what I remember on one of those soap operas--"

"You actually watched a soap opera? Who'd you watch it with?" Sour asked in a silly voice.

"Uh... Look, I'm just saying, I know that sometimes, I'm not saying everyone does, but I know that some people, when the emotions are not doing very well, they kind of tend to... eat up all the ice cream in your house."

"I'm sure she's not... oh no..."

Sour said nothing more and ran for home.

Sour ran fast and far down several blocks, crossing different streets, and almost jaywalking in several roads trying to race back home to her possibly crying girlfriend.

After 30 minutes of running non-stop she finally came to a halt to the driveway of her home. There she could see the singular red truck that her partner converted into was sitting there still and silent.

"Smallfoot? Is that you?"

Sour walked towards the truck carefully and she leaned her ear over to the engine, listening. Not a hum nor a sound was made. She slightly tapped the hood, trying to see if the truck would respond. No reply. Maybe she was inside the house?

Sour pulled out her house key from her pocket and she opened the front door and walked right in. Once she was inside, she closed the lock on the door.

"Smallfoot? I'm home! Smallfoot?"

Sour turned around the corner and walked into the kitchen. No sign of her was there, but on a plus side the window that was smashed this morning with a rotisserie chicken was fixed. Smallfoot must have stayed home and waited for the repair group to come by and fix it.

The cherry-haired girl looked to the kitchen. Nothing out of the ordinary there, and there weren't any messes in sight. But wait. A sound caught her attention. The sound of the television in the living room. The television was on, and she turned it off before she left for school. Was Smallfoot in there watching TV?

She walked over to the living room and her jaw gaped when she saw what was in there. Smallfoot was in the living in her human skin, watching TV. A soap opera to be precise. And Smallfoot was wrapped in a blanket, with a bucket of ice cream in her arms, along with a tissue box on the coffee table. And right next to her was a trashcan, filled with crumpled up tissue strips that looked damp.

On her face, was visible tear stains along with reddened cheeks.

"No don't feel bad Sonya... its not your fault your girlfriend left you... You just wanted to keep fighting for what you believed in and she backed out and abandoned you!" Smallfoot bawled, taking another bite of her ice cream.

Sour's heart fell in the pits of her stomach. This was going to be harder than she thought.

She carefully put her backpack down, and slowly walked towards the couch and sat next to her girlfriend who wasn't flinching to the fact that someone else was sitting on the couch next to her.

"Baby? Smallfoot?"

Smallfoot heard her voice, but she didn't react. She just gobbled down more ice cream.

"I think you've probably had enough ice cream...", Sour said.

"No! There's nothing left of me anymore that's worth any sort of value, this is all I have now!", Smallfoot said stuffing her face.

"Smallfoot, stop!" Sour said sternly.

Smallfoot stopped eating, but she didn't stop whimpering or crying, more tears came down her face.

"Baby? Can you talk to me?"

Smallfoot sniffled, "O-Okay..."

Sour grabbed another tissue and passed it to Smallfoot who took it and blew her nose, before throwing it into the trashcan.

"Now talk to me, what's making that pretty face so sad?" Sour asked.

Smallfoot whimpered and looked away.

"Smallfoot? Please?"

Smallfoot slowly looked to Sour who offered her a friendly smile. She wiped a tear away from her face and looked her in the eye.

"Sweetness, what's wrong?"

Smallfoot sniffled, "You sure you want to know?"

"Mmmhmm," Sour nodded.

"... promise you won't leave me like... like her?"

"I promise baby, its okay, just talk to me. Why did you run when you saw that girl?"

Smallfoot took a moment of silence to breathe in, and to breathe out.

"Okay...", Smallfoot exhaled, "That girl that you saw... was one of my... m-my..."

"Who?"

Smallfoot gulped.

"My ex-girlfriend."

Sour's eyes widened, "She's your ex?"

Smallfoot nodded and looked away.

"No, no, no, baby, I'm not mad. I'm just surprised, I didn't you dated other girls before me."

"Well, I did. And... my last couple of relationships didn't always go very well..."

"Oh. But... what happened with her? That's what I want to know."

Smallfoot wiped away some excess mascara that was streaming down her face before looking back to her girlfriend.

"But... during my first few weeks on Cybertron, before I or anyone else I knew was roped into the war, I went to a bar..."

Maccadam's Old Oil House was the most popular tavern in one of the far corners of Cybertron. It was well lit with neon lights, along with tons of lively music, servers, and bartenders. Everyday, bots would come round to get a taste of some of the sweet drinks and food that would be made within the place.

And at the bar counter, sitting on a stool was the lone Smallfoot sitting by herself drinking some blue liquid from a glass.

"Another round Smallfoot?", the bartender asked.

"No thank you Chardonnay. I'm quite alright with my juice," Smallfoot smiled.

"You sure?"

"Positive."

"Alright. I'll come back round to take your order. I've got other orders to fill."

"Thanks."

Smallfoot grinned and looked down at her reflection in the drink. She smirked and grinned, her teeth sparkling in the reflection. And as she stared down at her reflection, she stuck her tongue out and my silly faces.

"Belelelelelelelelel...." Smallfoot's tongue kept bouncing up and down as she made silly noises.

"Uh..."

Smallfoot froze when she heard the voice speak up. She slided her tongue back in her mouth and looked to her left, seeing the disturbed look of the female Autobot next to her.

"Sorry... I'm a little bored."

"I don't blame you. Barely anything happens on this side of Cybertron," the femmebot said.

"Yeah... Oh, I'm Smallfoot by the way. Gobot," Smallfoot said, sticking her hand out.

The female gave a friendly smile.

"Road Rage. Bounty hunter. Nice to meet you," Road Rage shook her hand, "Never met a Gobot before."

"Well now you have," Smallfoot grinned.

"Yeah... wait, you Gobots can transform into things like us, right?"

"Yeah."

"So... is there really any difference between our worlds aside from classification names?"

"Well there is one thing. For one, you can tell based on my echo-ish voice I'm a Guardian Gobot, and secondly, I'm not completely machine. I'm actually a cyborg," Smallfoot replied.

Road Rage nodded, "I understand. So you Gobots are cyborgs, yet we Cybertronians are flat out robots."

"Yeah, pretty much."

Awkward silence broke between them. What could they say next?

"So... You thinking about joining the Decepticon/Autobot war?" Road Rage asked.

"I-I guess so. I don't really have anything to do nowadays what with... Gobotron gone."

"Oh, okay. I thought about joining the war for a bit, but... I'm not sure if I should. I don't want to be by myself, and if I'm stuck in a situation without any help, I... really don't want to fight then."

Smallfoot turned her head, looking at the fembot.

"You know... I wouldn't abandon you."

Road Rage's head tilted up when she heard her response. She looked to the Guardian beside her.

"Really?"

Smallfoot smiled and nodded.

"In fact, uh, part of me was thinking about heading out and registering to the Autobots when I was done here."

"Oh, well... is it alright if I could... uh... come with you?"

Smallfoot looked up to her blue eyes and smiled with a nod. Road Rage smiled back, an almost adorable smile came on her face.

With one thing on their minds, they looked to the bartender and spoke in unison.

"Check please!"

"... After we left, we registered in Autobot faction, and we began to work together in the battlefield, engaged in our war against the Decepticons. We weren't always successful, but we did try our best and we actually got closer to each other than I thought. To the point where... we actually started dating."

Sour was patiently sitting next to her girlfriend, listening to her story all the while staying close with her, providing all the comfort she could.

Smallfoot looked back to Sour who stayed right with her, not getting up to leave.

"You hate me already, don't you?"

"No! Baby, I won't hate you, I promise. What happened next?"

"Okay, well... after a while, we started dating, and we had a wonderful time. But the happy times were quickly going away. After a while, we started dwindling away from another. We didn't talk as much, we weren't seeing each other very often and... that.... that... "

Smallfoot felt a lump caught in her throat as she spoke.

"Baby, what happened?"

Smallfoot gulped, "That one battle..."

The sounds of roaring battle cries, burning fire, explosions, gunfire, and the screams of helpless civilians filled the air as Road Rage and Smallfoot ran through some of the debris of the abandoned street. A few buildings had tumbled over from explosions setting them off, and were left in debris and rubble during the battle.

"Hang on Pathfinder, we're almost to the rendezvous point!" Smallfoot said over her communicator.

The two girls ran on their feet faster and faster, avoiding every laser and bombshell that came at them, trying to blow them into shards.

"Smallfoot, come on! Can't we just go back, I have a spaceship we can use to get out of here!"

"You parked it back in Iacon, remember?" Smallfoot yelled back.

"Its not that far, we just need to drive and go!"

Smallfoot turned around and a pair of lasers emitted from the headlights on her chest at an incoming Decepticon from the air who tried to shoot her from behind. The laser shots were bulls-eyes, and the Decepticon came crashing down into rubble.

"Road Rage, come on! Lets just go, we can't give up!"

Road Rage halted for a brief moment, looking back at Smallfoot. Her fists were clenched, and she looked back to Smallfoot with a serious face.

"No."

"What!?"

"I'm not going. You go on, I'm going back."

"No, I'm not going on without you! I can't go back there without you! Pathfinder needs us--"

"Pathfinder only needs you Smallfoot. You can help her, I'm not."

Smallfoot blinked and gasped. She couldn't be hearing this. Road Rage was going to... abandon her partner?"

"Y-You're going to... leave me?"

Road Rage sighed, "Smallfoot, I'm sorry but... I can't keep this up anymore. I'm done."

"W-What... what do you mean?" Smallfoot asked.

Road Rage groaned, "I'm done, Smallfoot. I don't want to be your sparkmate, okay?"

Smallfoot's face frowned... for about 5 seconds. Her frown was quickly turned from sadness, to anger. Her teeth were gritting against each other and she snarled.

"That's what this is about? You came all this way with me just to abandon me and break up with me!?"

"No, I--"

"NO!" Smallfoot barked.

Road Rage flinched from Smallfoot's sudden outburst. She never yelled like that before.

"You're leaving me, right in the middle of a battle, just because you wanted to end our relationship!? Is this how you end all of your problems!? Drop them off and abandon them!?"

"Smallfoot, I-"

"No! If you wanted to break up with me, you should have done it when we were in our base! Not here, and not right now! Why are you even leaving me!? What did I ever do to you!?"

Road Rage flinched before she glared at Smallfoot.

"You want to know why I'm done? Because I'm done with this war! Every day, more and more people just die, more civilians and our men die, and we can never get them back! Both Autobots and Decepticons! I understand you want this war to end, so do I, but... I'm done fighting. I'm not going to stay behind and watch more Cybertronians tear themselves apart, limb from limb!"

Smallfoot growled, "So you're doing this by leaving me by myself? Talk about loyalty."

"I'm done with fighting! There isn't anything left anymore, and you're just going to get yourself killed!"

"Well maybe you shouldn't! Maybe you should stay and help me get to Pathfinder, then you can run off like the coward you've shown you are!"

Road Rage growled, "I.... am... not... a COWARD!!!!!"

Road Rage's yell echoed all throughout the battlefield, and unfortunately, some unfriendly faces heard her.

"I'm going... and you aren't going to stop me."

Smallfoot growled some more, but she stopped when the pain of extreme heat penetrated her skin, knocking her down on her back. She looked up, and three similar looking bodies were above her, with similar looking heads all staring down at her.

"Looks like we've got ourselves a Guardian Gobot... Megatron is going to be pleased..."

Smallfoot pulled herself up and glanced to Road Rage who looked a little terrified to see the Decepticons in sight.

"No... Road Rage, please..."

Road Rage just slowly walked away without any emotion.

"I'm sorry Smallfoot..."

Road Rage turned around and she jumped into the air, converting a jet like form, soaring off into the sky.

"No... Road Rage..."

"Sorry, honey, she's not here now...", a familiar voice said.

The Decepticon she recognized as Starscream came into view and she pointed a laser at her face which was glowing with pulsating pink light.

"Lights out sweetie..."

"Starscream! Megatron wants her alive, don't blow her head up!"

"Relax Thundercracker. I'm merely going to deliver a paralyzing but painful shock which will knock her out for the trip. We want her to be fresh when she meets Lord Megatron, don't we?"

Smallfoot felt her heart pound against her chest as Starscream held his blaster to her face. She couldn't go anywhere or flee. Thundercracker and Skywarp who were right on her left and right pinned her down, rendering her helpless in her situation. She could only sit there and wait for her possible death. Even though they made it clear she wasn't going to die, the thought alone of possible death clouded her mind.

First Road Rage dumped her, she didn't even say why she didn't want to be with her anymore, but it hit her. They barely spoke to another. They barely talked to each other anymore, and they never liked to see each other as a couple. They weren't... compatible. They never connected, they were unhappy with each other... they never should have been a couple in the first place. Why didn't she see it in the first place?

"Lights out, honey."

Smallfoot felt tears well up in her eyes as the charge finished, and it released its shot. Only one thought was on her mind.

What's wrong with me...

There was a piercingly bright flash of light followed by a wall of static. Then, it was silent.

"... After that, I... I never spoke nor saw her again. And every time I tried to date someone, I always kept seeing her in my head. I keep thinking I'm going to ruin everything we have! I don't want to ruin anything between us, and if I lose you, I... I don't know..."

Smallfoot broke down sobbing in Sour's lap. Sour wrapped her arms around her, and she let her rest her head on her shoulder while she sobbed her eyes out.

"No, no, Smallfoot don't cry... ", Sour pleaded, "Its okay... I'm here for you."

"I don't want to be alone... I already lost an entire home, I can't lose you too..."

"Shh... don't think about that, its okay... shh... shh..."

Sour held Smallfoot in her arms while she rubbed her back, letting her cry on her shoulder for a good few minutes. Sour had never seen Smallfoot so distressed. She would be anxious too if she had went through the same emotions.

Smallfoot pulled back and took a few deep breathes. Her cheeks were puffy and red, her eyes were bloodshot, and her hair was messy and tattered.

"I'm crying like a baby...", Smallfoot said.

"No, sweetie... its okay," Sour wiped another tear from her face.

"But I'm a wreck! I can't even stay together without breaking down like a big baby..."

"Smallfoot...", Sour lifted her chin up, "Its okay. Look, I'm really sorry about what happened. I really am. But I promise you, I will never abandon you. You're everything to me, and I would never do that to you."

For the first time in that afternoon, Smallfoot was smiling. Smallfoot's smile was the most beautiful thing in the world in the eyes of Sour Sweet. The way her eyes were colored like emeralds, the way they sparkled as they stared into her own eyes... and the way she leaned into her hand as she stroked her cheek was adorable.

"And Smallfoot? I will always love you. No one and nothing will ever keep me from loving you. Okay?"

Smallfoot just slowly nodded before Sour smiled and pulled her in to kiss her on the lips. Smallfoot could feel herself start to calm down from her rumble of emotions, to a state of calmness.

"Smallfoot? I love you, and don't you forget it. Okay?"

Smallfoot nodded and smiled.

"I won't. T-Thank you," Smallfoot cooed.

Sour smiled and she gave her girlfriend a peck on the cheek before allowing Smallfoot to nuzzle close to her. Sour felt like a warm teddy bear that she just wanted to snuggle up with.

"Sour?"

Sour turned to look at her girlfriend.

"Is it alright with you if... we could do something relaxing, nothing crazy? I guess I... I just want to escape what I just saw today."

Sour smiled to her girlfriend before giving her a peck on the cheek.

"I would like that. What would you like to do?" Sour asked.

Smallfoot thought about it for a moment before coming down with a thought.

"I know this isn't much but... can I just snuggle with you?"

Sour smiled, "Babe, don't say that. I love every moment I get to snuggle with you. Its okay."

Sour sat back up on the couch before laying back on the cushion. She patted a seat next to her, and Smallfoot blushed before moving closer to her. Smallfoot slowly moved back to let her girlfriend hold her as she rested her head on her shoulder. Sour purred as she nuzzled Smallfoot's cheek.

Smallfoot giggled, "Since when did you turn into a cat?"

Sour grinned, "You want me to stop?"

"No...", Smallfoot said. "Oh, Sour?

"Yeah?"

Smallfoot glanced to her and gave a warm smile before nuzzling her, resting her eyes as she held her close.

"Thank you...", Smallfoot whispered.

Sour just smiled as she moved closer to Smallfoot, holding her as she let her rest her head on her shoulder, and holding her hand. It felt nice to be alone with her girlfriend who had finally calmed down from the onslaught of pain and memories of her former partner. But thoughts did intertwine in her head.

If that girl she was the one who mentally scarred her in the past... then she would need to keep her girlfriend away from her to keep any more bad memories from simmering in her head. But on the other hand, Road Rage hurt her sweet big rig and she abandoned her in a battlefield. Dumping her was one thing, leaving her in a battlefield by herself? That was over the line, and this was something she wanted to scream out her lungs out.

One thing was for certain. The next time they met that girl... she was going to be meeting the end of Sour's hard fist... from her power suit, and she was going to take a serious beatdown when she got her hands on her.

Back outside in the streets of Canterlot, the three lone pirates were driving on the road by themselves in complete silence from what they had witnessed today. This turn of events just made things harder. The Autobots were now going to be well aware of their presence, and they would be hunted in mere hours. What could they do to avoid these Autobots?

And on their drive, Road Rage was driving far behind Scatterspike and Overload. She had nothing to say, and there was nothing she could say. She didn't want to talk to anyone after seeing her again. Why? Why did have to be her? Out of all of the bots it could be, it had to be her? It couldn't have been Hound, or Bumblebee, or even Optimus Prime? It just had to be the one girl she didn't want to see after what she did.

"Uh, Road Rage? Sugar? You alright?" Scatterspike asked.

"I'm fine, Scatterspike. Its nothing."

"Alright... but I just wanted to tell ya, Shadelock gave us a call. He, Roughedge and Forewing are coming back here. Apparently their hunt for Demolisher was a bust, tons of military organic life forms was houndin' their tails, and Demolisher was too fast for them. But they ain't given up. They're planning on helping us capture Fracture first, then we can go depart."

Road Rage didn't say anything. For a few seconds.

"Okay."

With that, the group of three just continued to keep on trucking. All the while Road Rage was alone in her thoughts, quiet as a ninja.

I'm so sorry Smallfoot...

The Transformers will return after these messages...
