Chapter 1 Dawn for a New Duelist Part 1
It was just a day like any other in the city of Canterlot. The sun was shining the birds were chirping and let’s face it you don’t really care about the weather so let’s get on with the real story.
Shuffle was heading to school to meet up with his friend Card Shark. Shuffle wasn't the most fit high schooler and tend to wear T-shirts with stuff he found funny on it. Today’s was red and said ‘I’m not lazy I just really enjoy doing nothing some black jean pants and his prescription glasses for his near sightedness. His glasses are actually bifocals with the lower part being made of regular glass. Now Shuffle always enjoyed watching his friend playing Duel Monsters against the other students at Canterlot High School. Shuffle got to school just in time to see the end of his friend’s duel. “…and now that all your monsters are gone thanks to dark hole’s effect I also use double summon allowing me to normal summon twice this turn and now I summon The Keeper of the Shrine so I can sacrifice the keeper of the shrine that gets treated as two monsters for dragon type monsters so this allows me to summon my Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Now Blue-Eyes will attack you directly destroying the rest of your life points.” And with that the duel was finished Card Shark has won.
“Hey Shark, that was a nice move at the end." Shuffle said to his friend. Card Shark wore a loose brown shirt and some Blue jean pants. "I wish I could of seen the whole duel though.” Shuffle said to Card Shark as Card Shark was putting up his Duel Disk up. The Duel Disk was mostly white and had blue edges on it.
“Thanks Shuffle, but I want to know why don’t you never play Duel Monsters you always just watch me play it.” Card Shark asked Shuffle they know each other since middle school and Shuffle had never once played Duel Monsters with him but he knew Shuffle had figured out the rules and could easily follow any duel he participated in.
“Look I just don’t think I would be any good against anyone in Duel Monsters especially you after all you’re the best duelist in this school after all.” Shuffle said not having any confidence in himself at all. After seeing Card Shark duel with a bunch of combos it was intimidating to imagine being on the receiving end of those duels.
“Of course, as you are, you don’t stand a chance.” Shuffle felt like everything he thought about himself was confirmed with those words. “You don't even have a deck and without one you would absolutely never get any better.” Shuffle then realized he should really stop over thinking things before people are finished talking. “How about we duel tomorrow morning after all class is about to start and I’ll make you a deck just bring a duel disk I heard they are selling them cheaply now.”
“Ok fine I’ll give it a try then.” Shuffle said in a defeated tone having no confidence in him-self now he didn't want to duel Card Shark for several reasons but the big one is it would feel like he was fighting his best friend, along with the fact he didn't like losing when he put his all into it.
After school let out Shuffle went to the local Canterlot game shop called “the Golden Crown” and gotten him-self a duel disk colored black and blue. After looking around the store a bit more he went home, which was about a 10 minute walk from the school, convinced he was going to lose tomorrow and felt like he would lose so bad he would never try dueling ever again and deep down he hopes he was wrong.
The next day Shuffle went to school earlier then he normally would to duel his friend. “Hey Shuffle you made it I was thinking you wouldn’t show up. Anyway are you ready cause I got your deck here.” Card Shark handed over the newly built deck to Shuffle. Shuffle took the deck and searched through it and noticed that he put the Blue-Eyes rival card in his deck the Dark Magician. Just like in the show based on the card game they both watched. While they liked it they would admit it was really dumb at times especially the version they watched when they were younger that edited out the guns. After reminiscing he inserted the deck into the duel disk.
“Thank you for the cards, Shark."
“So Shuffle are you ready for your first duel”
“Yeah cause if I have to duel only once in my life I would prefer no one else to duel with than you.”
“Ok then also if you’re good enough you can keep that deck and you will be my official rival at this but I'm sure figured that out when you saw him in the deck I gave you. Now if you’re ready let's start this duel like they did in the show. Ready!" Shuffle nodded his head. "In that case."
“Let’s Duel” They said simultaneously as they readied their duel disk with their Life Points set to 8,000.
Meanwhile Thousands of miles away someone was looking over Canterlot high school by looking at their website. “Soon I shall be able to use the magic at that school in order to accomplish my not yet completely thought out plan, and when I arrive I must analyze the magic to figure out how to accomplish my goal, but first I must wait to move to that city, so I got time. Come to think of it I’m in a room by myself so why am I talking out loud.” The planer said to them-self like a true crazy person.

Hello Everyone i hope you enjoy this first part I will release the full deck list for our two friends here in the next chapter which are real decks me and my friend play with using advanced rules meaning no banded cards will show up here outside of a plot of someone using banned cards for some reason also every so often the decks will change every so often so they will be updated and if you wish you can be a part of this series you can send me a PM and say which character and deck you would like to duel and we will talk and that duel will be put in this series i'm making the first duel will happen next week please stay tuned here for what is hopefully a fun fan contributed series First deck list will be shown next week as well. "I'll start off." Card Shark said "I'm Sure you know the rules but let's do a refresher since you only watched but never played. Since I took the first turn I can't draw so I'll play one Monster in face down defence mode and end my turn."
"Ok I'll draw" Shuffle looked at his cards thinking 'defensive on the first turn either he has plan or doesn't have a strong monster in his hand that he can summon yet although this trap card Dimension Guardian can help me get an early lead I just hope this works though.' "I summon Mystical Elf (ATK:800 DEF:2000) in attack mode as well as playing one more card facedown and with that i'll end my turn."
"You must be crazy summoning a monster with only 800 attack in attack mode. anyway i draw and use my facedown monster 'The Keeper of the shrine' and sacrifice it as 2 monsters to summon Dragon Core Hexer(ATK:2300 DEF:3000). Now Dragon Core Hexer attacks your Mystical Elf and destroys it." The attack goes though and smoke filled the area. "I thought you would at least remember how to put a monster in defence mode at the very least."
Shuffle just looked straight at Card Shark and responded saying "but if i did that my trap wouldn't have worked."
"What trap." Shark said thinking of a what card that requires a monster to be in attack mode to activate that he put in Shuffles deck
"This trap Dimension Guardian if you'll look at the field my Mystical Elf is still there at the cost of that attack (Shuffle's Life Points 8000 - 1500 = 6500) take a look at the field." the smoke cleared and sure enough she was still there. "you see for the trap to work I need to have a monster in attack mode to activate it this allows my Mystical Elf to not get destroyed by battle or card effect."
"I know what it does I gave it to you." Shark said stating the obvious
"I know I just like explaining things." Shuffle responded
"Anyway I end my turn." 'I'm sure shuffle wouldn't have done that to save that weak monster for no reason i wonder what trick he is trying to pull off.' Shark thought to himself.
"My turn I'll draw and i'll sacrifice my Mystical Elf to summon my Summoned Skull(ATK:2500, DEF:1200) and he attacks your Dragon Core Hexer destroying it and you lose 200 life points (Shark's Life Points 8000 - 200 = 7800)." Shuffle declared 'Well that clears the field let's see if I can keep it cleared now'
"Well by doing that you activated my Keeper of the Shrine's effect and since you sent a face up dragon monster Keeper of the Shrine comes back to the field." "and that's not all since it was an normal monster I can take one monster from my graveyard and add it to my hand and since the only monster in there is my Dragon Core Hexor I put it back in my hand."
Shuffle was shocked "It sounds like The Keeper of the Shrine will be here no matter how many time I get rid of it I seen his deck duel a lot and i never saw anything but dragon monsters in there so when its on the field I got to kill it last or it will just keep coming back more than it has too.' "In that case i'll finish by playing mystic plasma zone increasing all dark attribute monsters by 500 attack points and lowers them by 400 defence points. including your keeper of the shrine (O.DEF:2300 C.DEF:1900) and i'll end my turn there."
'Lower my defence to make it easier to destroy nice plan shuffle as my hand is now though I don't know if I come back yet. Not gonna make it easy for you though.' Card Shark thought to himself. "Ok I'll draw and i'll just increase my defence with a second monster and end it there."
"If you said so I draw and play the spell card Fairy Meteor Crush and equip it to Summoned Skull" 'Great with Fairy Meteor Crush Summoned Skull now can hurt his life points through monster in defence position.' Shuffle thought to himself. Now I'll place one monster facedown and then I'll attack your face down card"
"Well you attacked my monster big eye. (O.DEF:1000, C.DEF 600) While it does get destroyed and I lose life points (Shark Life Points 7800 - 2400 = 5400) it effect activates I check the top 5 cards of my deck and I can rearrange them to be drawn the way I want to." 'Wow he's doing better than I thought he would be doing.' Shark draws the top 5 cards and looks through them. 'Hey Raigeki Break I'll use this to destroy his Summoned Skull so that will go on top the rest doesn't matter cause i'll use reload for them.' "I'm done arranging them
"Ok then I end my turn." Shuffle said worried about what cards his friend and now opponent just got access to thanks to Big Eye's effect.
"So I draw, i'll summon my Dragon Core Hexer by sacrificing my Keeper of the Shrine, Then I play one card face down and now I use the spell card reload I put my hand in my deck shuffle and then I draw the same amount of cards I put into the deck." 'Let's see if the new cards I draw will help me get the upper hand in this duel.' "Now I use Two man cell battle at our End Phase we can special summon a normal level 4 monster. I also play one more card face down. Then I go to my end phase to special summon The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave in defense mode. That is what ends my turn"
"I draw" Shuffle said starting his turn.
Shark cuts Shuffle off to declare. "and I activate one of my trap cards Jar of Geed. so I can draw a card" " Now i use my other trap Raigeki Break by discard a card from my hand I can destroy one card on the field and I chose your Summoned Skull" 'OK the big one is down. "Try taking me down without one of your strongest cards now." Shark was losing himself to this it has been a while since he felt like he was in trouble during a duel."
Shuffle just looked and thought to himself 'Challange accepted!' "In that case I flip summon Shaddoll Squamata this activates its flip effect to destroy a monster at will and I choose your Dragon Core Hexer."
"I'm sure you remember but that let's me bring back The Keeper of the Shrine back in defense mode"
"Well I 'll just destroy it again (Shaddoll Squamata C.ATK 2300, The Keeper of the Shrine C.DEF 1700) and that will end my turn."
"Fine I'll draw." 'Wow I can't remember the last time I was pushed this much in a duel. This tension feels great and I thought I was just too good a few days ago I feel like I have to get better all over again. Come on Shuffle continue putting your all into this duel cause at this point Win or Lose you're gonna be my Rival in this.' Shark couldn't hide his excitement if he tried at this point "I'll sacrifice The dragon Dwelling in the Cave to summon Krystal Dragon (ATK:2500, DEF:1000) and it will attack you monster and destroy it."
"No your Monster will get destroyed because I use from my hand I play the quick play spell Rush Recklessly. Increasing my attack by 700 points (Shaddoll Squamata C.ATK:3000, Krystal Dragon ATK:2500) (Card shark's Life Points 5400 - 500 = 4900) to bad for me you can bring back your Keeper of the Shrine thou." 'Wow Shark is enjoying himself in this duel. This is fun and all but this just a deck he made it just like he's playing against himself and not me. Until the deck I use is my own I can't feel the joy he is feeling over this.'
"Fine and because Krystal Dragon battled I can grab a level 8 dragon from my deck and add it to my hand. Now I go to my end phase and summon Koumori Dragon in defence mode because of two man cell battle's effect that ends my turn."
"Ok my turn draw." Shuffle saw that he drew Dark Renewal he knew this card would help him out "I place one card face down and use Shaddoll Mata to attack Koumori Dragon (C.DEF: 800) and that will end my turn."
"My turn I draw and I Sacrifice my Keeper of the Shrine to summon my best monster Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK:3000, DEF:2500)
"Now I activate my trap card Dark Renewal, This card let's me target a spellcaster type i control and a monster you summon and send them both to the graveyard doing this allows me to summon a Dark Spellcaster to the field from my deck or graveyard and the monster I'm bringing out never went there so I grab it from my deck and summon Dark Magician (ATK:2500, DEF:2100) to the field
"And Keeper of the Shrine comes back but my turn is now over."
"My turn draw, and since there is 2 monsters on the field I can Special summon from my hand my two Performage Hat Trickers then Sacrifice them to Summon my Second Dark Magician. Now one attacks your Keeper of the shrine and the other attacks you directly." (Card Shark's Life Points 4800 - 3000 = 1800) its your turn now."
"I draw a card." His hand only two cards both of which can't be played (Luster Dragon #2 level 6 and Return of the Red-Eyes) 'my field is empty and don't have a card that can help me I lose but I won't surrender I'll let him take it he has earned this.' "my turn is over go ahead and win."
"Ok then and I draw and attack you directly with Dark Magican and finish this duel." Shuffle said actually surprised he won that duel at all. The final score was Shuffle LP 6500 - Shark LP 0
"Heh, looks like the deck I made is stronger than I thought. I also wish I drew better cards to make the duel better" Shark said defeated
Shuffle looked back and said "I'm sorry but, it just feels like i didn't deserve that win though, after all you built this with your cards."
Then Card Shark noticed Shuffle wasn't as happy as he that would be. "Look you may have not have built it but when I built that deck I didn't just slap it together I thought what cards you'd want in your deck so i put thought into each card I put into it and you just proved that you earned those cards from me and besides if you don't like it just get more cards until you don't need the ones in your deck anymore." Card Shark said pouring out how much effort he put into that deck for his friend.
"I'd never replace all of them I'll always keep Dark Magician in my deck it will never leave my deck as long as we're friends." Shuffle said
"To be honest I had a feeling that you'd say something like that." Card Shark said "it also looks like we got a crowd to watch the duel."
"Huh." Shuffle looked around notice the crowd of students some with camera phones out as well.
"I am so Uploading that duel up on dueltube." One random student in the crowd said.
Shuffle then looked at his watch and said "isn't class about to start now."
"you know i think it is." Card Shark said, and so they put up their duel disk and went to class and Shuffle went to hand the deck back to Card Shark. "No keep it their yours now.
After they got to class the teacher in the room said "Ok class today we are going to the auditorium because Principal Celestia has an announcement to make today so leave your backpacks here in the room."
After arriving at the auditorium and all the students settled in the bleachers Principal Celestia came out and said. "Hello students today I got some great news the upcoming Monday will be the start of a week long Duel Monsters tournament taking place at the school more details will be released that day. We will also have three guest from Domino City, Japan to act as trials in the tournament so, If you want to participate you gotta sign up. That is all."

Chapter 3 the pre-tournament days- day 1
The next day Shuffle and Card Shark looked at the school bulletin board to see all the details they could find on the tournament. The sign board said. 'The Schoolwide tournament will be know as an adapt tournament where something big as the style of the duel may change or something as some as small as a 3rd party will do all coin flips and dice rolls. Each duelist will receive a device the 1st day of the tournament to inform them of all changes and to track their ranking. The duel styles for each day can be one of the following three: Single, Match and, Tag Duels. The guest will greet all duelist on day two the details for them being in the tournament will be explained then, Till then have fun and keep learning.
"Well the only thing i can think of doing for this is get new cards to mod our deck for the tournament." Shuffle read off the board "Well I think the first thing we need to do is to mod our decks a bit so we can be ready for anything."
"Yeah so after school we are going to the golden crown right?" Shuffle nodded his head "Right we don't know what we are gonna face here pulse thouse guest you don't it would be them do you."
"Look I can understand you want to be dramatic but don't play the pronoun game." Shuffle said just wanting a straight answer
"You know the three heros of Domino city.." Shuffle just stared at Card Shark "OK fine, I'm talking about Yugi Muto, Joey Wheeler, and Seto Kaiba"
"Now was that so hard." Shuffle told his friend "Besides why would any of them show up to this tournament they don't go to school here and on top of that one of them is the C.E.O. of Kaiba Corp. and I'm pretty sure they aren't in high school anymore for few years now so they wouldn't be transfer students and finally they're Japanese so I'm pretty sure they don't speak english." Card Shark stepped back to think for a second.
"Now that I think about it that is true, and why would they even bother come here anyway, there would be no gain to coming to meet a bunch of highschoolers." Shark said
"But didn't Yugi become know as the king of games after beating Pegasus at duelist kingdom and then won the Battle City Tournament shortly after all while in high school." Shuffle said as a rebuttal
"Ok which side of the argument are you on?" Card Shark asked Shuffle getting annoyed of Shuffle's' counter arguments
"The one with logic and evidence to back up said logic." Shuffle said messing with his friend smiled coyly at his victory of wits "Anyway we should get some new cards to upgrade our decks for the tournament so let's go to the golden crown after school to see what we get and try to mod them and use the next few days to see if they work out for us." Shuffle suggested to Card Shark
"It sounds good to me Shuffle after all who knows what we will get out of the packs." Card Shark loving the idea
"It's either that's or be idle and let our decks stagnate while someone potentially tries counting our cards to build a counter deck to them." Shuffle said believing its best to duel not know what's coming to be adaptable. cause if you know what's coming you can always find a way to prepare for it but a great duelist should be able to rethink his plan on the spot.
"Sure that sounds like something that some people might try to do that." Card Shark said hoping to get more ways for him to summon Blue-Eyes on the field faster in his duels.
After school the two rushed over to the card shop and bought some card packs "ok ready"
"Yep" they each opened their packs and each got some cards from them in Shuffle's he some cards like Dark Magician Girl and Lemon Magician Girl and Dark Paladin. Card Shark on the other hand got cards like Neo-blue eyes Ultimate Dragon, Mirror Force, and Swords of Revealing Light.
"Got any good cards Shark?" Shuffle asked his friend.
"Of course I did, how about you?" Card shark asked Shuffle
"Yeah." Shuffle said and nodded. "Anyway tomorrow starts the testing phase of our new decks before the tournament starts up after all so I'll see you tomorrow."
"Of course you'll see me even if I get sick I'd just send a remote controlled duel robot in my place." Shark said basically trying to show how hyped he is to try out a new and improved version of his deck.
"And you get the funds for that from where exactly." Shuffle asked
"From the first national bank of shut-up that's where." Card Shark replied with so much sarcasm it could sink a boat.
"What's your next idea to pitch a way for Kaiba Corp. to make a way to play Duel monsters on a motorcycle?" Shuffle said starting a sarcasm battle."
"Hey that might happen." Card Shark replied
"I highly doubt that." Shuffle said as they reached the point way they had to go home their separate ways.

I found a way to make inserting the duels with others easier thanks to a computer program made by Yu-Gi-Oh fans its called [http://ygopro.org/downloads/ Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dawn of a New Era using this it will keep the banned list on and duels can be saved so if a duel is to quick and/or boring a re-duel will be easy anyway that is all for updates now to the deck build section

Chapter 4 The Pre-tournament days - day 2

Shuffle was ready after spending late last night re-making his deck with the new cards he got. After putting the cards into his deck and was ready to test it out in a duel but unfortunately he woke up late because he stayed up late, so he had no time to duel this morning and was rushing to get to school on time. While running past Suger Cube Corner Shuffle didn't notice a girl walking out and ran into her knocking her over while he tripped and fell down. "Ow, sorry about that I didn't see you."
"Well you should watch where your going and judging by the fact that you wear glasses you should also get better a pair of those as well." The girl said to him with more venom than a scorpion.
"Look I'm sorry alright I was just trying to get to school on time." Shuffle then noticed the spilled drink. "I'll also replace that drink of yours it's my fault it spilled after all."
It was then she notice the deck box on Shuffles belt and said "Fine you also own me a duel after school near the statue got it."
"Why?" Shuffle asked
"Pay back for knocking me over." She said with anger
"Fine whatever I'm in a hurry so sure." Shuffle said while thinking 'well at least I'll get to practice my dueling skills today.'
After School ended for the day "and now she wants to duel me for some reason."
"Well if that's the case I still got some deck work to do so I'll see you later." Card Shark said "Anyway good luck with your duel."
"Ok thanks, see you later." Shuffle said waving bye causally to Card Shark. Shuffle then went to the school statue to look for the person who wanted to duel him
"So you really came to duel." The girl said
"That and to pay you for the spilled drink, I'm still sorry about that by the way." Shuffle apologized
"It doesn't matter and you will pay as soon as you lose." She said not caring just wanting to get to the duel.
"NO, that's either way I'm willingly taking full responsibility for the problem." Shuffle said staying clam.
"Fine whatever, you don't stand a chance of wining any way." she said with confidence
"But before we start what's your name? I just realized we never said our name to each other I'm Shuffle by the way." Shuffle said trying to be friendly about this."
"I'm Tamer, not that my name matter's for this let's just start already." Tamer said introducing herself.
"OK, then" Shuffle said.
"Let's Duel!" They both said.
Shuffle Started the duel saying "I'll go first." while grabbing his first five cards 'oh no I only drew tribute monsters, Polymerization, and Dark Burning Magic. I can't draw cause on the first turn either I guess i didn't shuffle my deck enough after making it last night. I'll put Dark Burning Magic down make it look like i got something to work with. "I play one card face down and end my turn."
Tamer drew a card and looked at her hand "For my move I play Performapal Swincobba in the Pendulum zone. Next I play Supply Unit and I'll end my turn by setting a monster in defense mode." 'No monsters on the first turn this guy either got a bad hand or he is a giant amature at this.' Tamer thought
Shuffle drew a card while thinking 'wide open and no attack she must not like taking risk let's see what I drew great Silent Magician LV4 this will help out.' "I summon Silent Magician LV4 (ATK: 1000, DEF: 1000) now he attacks your face down monster." the card flips to reveal Green Gadget (ATK: 1400, DEF: 600) and it gets destroyed.
"Ok by destroying him Supply unit allows me to draw a new card." Tamer explains as she draws a card.
"and since you drew Silent Magician LV4 gains a spell counter giving him 500 more attack points so on you draw phase he'll be at 2000. I end my turn." 'ok strength wise the game turned but a can't let my guard down.'
"Ok I'll draw and place Performapal Guiturtle in my second Pendulum zone and use them to Pendulum summon Performapal Skullcrobat Joker (ATK: 1800, DEF: 100) and i play one card face down and end my turn." Tamer said 'ok you amature take the bait like the fool you are' she thought to herself
"OK then I draw." 'I got Black Illusion I got to set this card.' "I set one card face down and attack with Silent Magician LV4." Shuffle said ready to see the fight between the two monster
"I active my trap card Magic Cylinder this redirect the attack back at you." (Shuffle's Life Points 8000 - 2000 = 6000) 'Just as planed' Tamer thought to herself stroking her own ego at this point
"Ok then I'll end my turn there." shuffle said.
"I draw and place one monster face down and set one card face down. With that I end my turn" 'ok only problem now is how to get rid of his silent magician LV4 the longer its there the stronger it gets.' Tamer said planning her next turn.
"I draw." 'ok trap hole. Geting these traps is great and all but really need to get some more monsters on the field. "I place a card face down and then attack with Silent Magician LV4 to attack."
"I use Waboku so i don't take damage and my monsters can't be destroyed by battle." Tamer said avoiding the attack this turn
"Fine I'll end my turn." 'ok silent magician is getting stronger still and what it get all 5 i make it level 8 and it becomes immune to spells' shuffle was getting hyped hoping that he could summon Silent Magician LV8.
"I draw play card face down and end my turn." 'this card is perfect as soon as he attacks it gonna by gone for the rest of this game.' Tamer thought keeping a poker face to make sure her happiness couldn't be seen.
"I draw." 'Let see Mirror Force so i got another trap card when will I get a new monster card. "I place one card face down and attack your face-up monster." Shuffle Declared
"I activite Dimensional Prison the banishes the attacking monster form the game." Tamer started laughing in her head cause if it was out load as she would be considered a crazy person.
'This is bad my field is empty but maybe all the traps i got on the field might cause her not to attack.' Shuffle thought out what to do. "Ok i'll end my turn ."

"I draw and use Magical Mallet I shuffle two cards back into my deck and redraw them and I'll play one monster facedown and end my turn." 'as soon as I find out find down cards of his it will be over after all its 3 monsters for me a 1 on his right now.
"I draw and flip summon Shaddoll Squamata and flipping him allows me to destroy one monster and I choose the only face up card on your field."
"Since my monster was destroyed I get to draw a card." Tamer said holding on to her poker face hiding her anger
"Now I use Magical Dimension with it so I tribute Shaddoll Squamata and Summon Dark Magician, Now I can choose one of your monsters and destroy it. You get a card and now Dark Magician attacks the last remaining monster and you draw one more card and I end my turn." 'yes, I am ahead in everything but life points is in my favor right now.' Shuffle smiled out of pure joy from this moment.
"Well I'll use the two Monsters in my pendulum zone to pendulum summon the pendulum monsters you destroyed and I'll use them to xyz's summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (ATK: 2500, DEF: 2000) and I use its effect I remove both of the Xyz's Materials to half your Dark Magician's attack so my monster gains those lost attack points." 'this should handle Dark Magician easily.' Tamer almost cracked a smile
"Well that's not happening I use my trap card Black Illusion. Now Dark Magician is unaffected by your card effects." 'that's right throw everything you got at me.' Shuffle thought his hear really getting into the duel."
"Fine I'll just attack you then." Tamer said losing her poker face in the process showing a lot of anger
"I don't think so I'll use Mirror Force to destroy your monster." Shuffle just smiled at this feeling good about pulling this off.
Tamer who was brimming in anger "Fine I'll end my turn by activating Swords of Reveling Light. and place one monster and one card face down." 'How is this amature so strong to force me into defence?.'
"My turn and I draw and I activate my Swords of Revealing Light as well and end my turn." 'no attacks for anybody now.' Shuffle thought.
"Well I draw and Pendulum Summon Star Drawing Yellow, Gold Gadget, and Performapal Silver Claw now I activate call of the haunted to bring back. Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and I'll end my turn." 'ok 4 monsters This should help till i draw a spell or trap to destroy that Dark Magician of his.' Tamer thought doing everything she could to win.
"I draw a card" 'I drew Performage Hat Tricker I can use this' "Now I Special Summon Performage Hat Tricker because there is 2 or more monsters on the field and now I use it to tribute summon Dark Magician Girl to the field. Now that I have Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on the field I can now activate the Spell card Dark Burning Magic destroying all the cards on your side of the field." and just like that all the monsters spells traps and even the pendulum zone monsters all got destroyed.
"Uugghh since you destroyed my Gold Gadget I can special summon a one level four gadget monster from my deck and I summon Sliver Gadget and that allows me to summon a level four gadget monster from my hand so I summon green gadget both in defence mode this let's me put a Red Gadget from my deck into my hand." Tamer said hopeing for a good card at this point
"Well my Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl will attack both of them clearing the field. I end my turn there." Shuffle said.
"I draw, I'll put a monster in defense mode and end my turn." 'Nothing good I don't have much time left to turn this around and win.' Tamer hoped
"I draw and summon Magician's Valkyria (ATK:1600, DEF: 1800) I attack your face down with my Dark Magician girl destroying your Red Gadget. Now my Dark Magician and Magician's Valkyria to attack you directly" (Tamer's LP 8000 - 4100 =3900) 'great I just need one more turn like this I'll win.'
"My turn I draw." 'I need something good to get out of this please' Tamer looks at the card she drew 'I can't use this I lost.' "I end my turn"
"Ok then Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl both attack you directly." Tamer's LP 3900 - 4500 = -600)"
"I can't believe I lost to some no name amateur like you, if I can't beat you, I won't stand a chance in the tournament." Tamer said while starting to cry. Shuffle went over to cheer her up by saying.
"Well you won't get anywhere if have that mindset you'll never get anywhere, personally i don't think i stand a chance but I'm joining to see how far I can get in the tournament but if your depressed about one loss I don't think you will go anywhere in this game. Anyway here's what I promised you" Shuffle gave her $5. "I'm still sorry that I knock over your drink earlier today. Also maybe we can duel again sometime. Goodbye." Shuffle said and left Tamer there at the school.
"An attitude change won't get me the prize for the top 10 students. I don't care if its just only a rumored chance at this point." Tamer said wanting the prize of the tournament.
Unbeknown to them though another student was watching the duel and decide she wanted Shuffle to be her mentor for tournament. "I hope he is willing to teach me how to play."
Author's Note
OK two things first the big one out of the way first Link summoning has been announced and the field has been remade for it. It all starts July 21st and the story duel style will not change for it until the after the tournament at least because of how new it is but I do plan on getting it myself. Lastly new character appearing soon might be in the next chapter but the deck isn't done yet so at most the new character will show up and duel within the next 4 chapters.
Second sorry I'm posting this so late I was really busy today I didn't really have much time to finalize everything but here it is

Chapter 5 the Pre-Tournament days - day 3 Part 1
Shuffle and Card Shark was leaving School for the day to continue to work on their decks for the tournament until they felt just right. To do this they was gonna head over to the Golden Crown card shop when a girl stopped them and said "Your Shuffle and Card Shark right?"
The two friends looked at each other with an expression that said I don't know who this is do you? Then they looked back at her and said in unision "yeah that's us."
"Good cause I have something I wanted to ask you." she said before asking her question giving them no time to answer. "Will you be my mentors and teach me how to play Duel monsters?"
They stood there with a shocked expression before Card Shark eventually asked "Why us? We don't even know you."
"Well the the truth is I was waiting for a great duelist to teach me so I was searching watching hundreds of duels. Though my research when I saw you two duel it seemed like you two are considered two of the mostly likely to get in the rumored top 10 prize going around."
Shuffle responded with"Wait one off the prizes is nothing but a rumor right now."
"That's right its said the top 10 students in the Tournament will get full scholarships to go to Duel Academy. I always wanted to go there it sounds like so much fun." The girl explained
Shuffle then said "I know that sounds fun its just doesn't sound very likely unless the school tournament is sponsored by Kaiba Corp."
"Actually according to what I looked up I have reason to think we are after all Principal Celestia herself said 3 Legendary Duelist were coming to school during the tournament." The girl explained
"That's true anyway do you even have a deck made for the tournament?" Card Shark asked the girl
The girl started to look nervous and said "Well somewhat I got my cards right here that I'm using to make a warrior deck but I want to slim it to around 40 cards from the currently 65 excluding the extra deck. Its hard I like all of the effects so much that makes each one useful." She said handing the cards over to be looked over.
Shuffle being the person he is decided to help her out and said "Well I'll help out on two conditions."
"That's great what are they." The girl responded being overly eager to get her deck ready
"One you have to duel us after we finish it." The girl nodding her head rapidly to this information. "and two tell us your name we can't call you that girl forever."
The girl just stood there after realizing she never said her name once. "I'm sorry, so so sorry my name Gale Storm, like the wind."
"Well Gale its nice to meet you." Card Shark said
"Same here." She said
"Ok then since that's all settled now there some tables at the Golden Crown to help finish your deck." Shuffle said and then the three went to the Golden Crown card shop to hangout and work on there decks.
