Prologue

“What a view!” Twilight Sparkle says as she sits on the balcony admiring the stars and constellations in the night sky.

“*Yawn* I don’t get how this is fun Twi, I’m going to bed, have fun with your stars and whatever.” Spike said dismissively as he walks back inside heading for his room to get a well deserved sleep after a long day of assisting Twilight.

At this Twilight puts her eye to the telescope while simultaneously taking notes of various stars and Luna’s moon. Suddenly something catches her eye, a large looking comet blazes across the midnight sky leaving a bright trail in its wake.

“Oh a comet! Haven’t seen on that big in a while.” She says to herself as she furiously takes notes.

As she takes notes she notices that it is getting closer and closer before eventually crashing in the Everfree forest. This was too good to pass up as Twilight moves away from the telescope and grabs her saddlebag.

Time for a visit to the Everfree forest! She thought to herself.

Chapter 1: The new guest

As Twilight ran into the Everfree forest with saddlebags full of notes and various astronomy books in tow the moon is at its peak in the night sky.

“Oh, where could it have landed?” Twilight asks no one in particular as she began looking around for an impact site. Surely something that large would leave a sizeable impact zone, She thought to herself.

She looks up and sees something smoking creating pillar of smog in the air, as she follows the plume of smoke she soon finds out that it isn’t a comet at all, but a….

“A ship!?.”Twilight blurts out as she reaches the crash site of not a comet but a spaceship with smooth curves and a bright grey exterior with an open hatch in it and as the smoke clears she soon finds out that the ship's pilot was nothing she had ever encountered before, sure she had fought changelings and but nothing could have prepared her for this.

“Hello? A-Are you okay?” She asks, but no response. “I-I’m coming in.” She announces as she takes a tentative step towards the ship.

A spaceship? Where did this come from, who’s inside it, why are they here wha- a low groan from the ship's pilot catches her attention as she sees a pale white pony with a blue mane reach out of the cockpit towards her which only piques her curiosity even more, but first she had to help anypony inside, questions later, helping now.

“Oh my, are you okay?” She asks to no response as the pony piloting the ship collapses and passes out. With time ticking by she just put down all her notes and levitates the pony from the ship and takes it to the library where her old laboratory was when she was studying Pinkie Pie’s ‘Pinkie Sense’.

She quickly darts down the stairs and puts the pilot on the examination table as she checks it for injuries sustained from the crash. After ten minutes of checking the pony for injuries she discovers something she had never seen before, first of all, he..or...she has a long, lion-like tail and it’s mane seemed to go down the spine.She also found two short little nubs on the pilot's head under it’s mane, she pokes and prods the two nubs only to have one extend out into a long antenna, she pokes the other one and the same happens there too.

“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh this is amazing! A pony from space and it lands just outside of town! The possibilities, the technology, the cultural exchange of ideas and philosophies an-. Her train of thought is once again interrupted by a stir of a hoof from the pony on the table, its eyes flutter open for a moment only to have the examination light blind it and this time it passes out for good. For the rest of the night Twilight studied and took copious amounts of notes and theories about the pony in question and debates on whether or not to tell the princess about it, or who knows maybe they already know about it and thought this could be a great friendship lesson. A friend from beyond the stars, a first in Equestria, no, the first contact with another being from another world would be a world first, this just made Twilight giddy with excitement as she bounces in place thinking of all the things it could teach her. With all these ideas bouncing around in that little head of hers she almost forgot to tend to the injuries the space pony has from the crash. She went to check for broken bones but when she examines its limbs they flop around like big noodles, this worries her and intrigues her at the same time, what if it broke all of its bones, what if it has no bones, how does it walk, how does it talk, would it even speak common? There were so many topics spinning around in her head it was giving her a headache.

Eight hours of research and joy filled adorableness later…

“Twilight! Twilight?! Where are you?” Spike calls out as he explores the crystalline castle, searching for Twilight, obviously. As Spike searches he wanders out of the castle onto the balcony where he last saw her. The first thing he notices when looking for his friend is that for some reason the telescope was pointing down, he looks through the telescope and sees smoking wreckage, seriously, after eight hours it was still smoking...Anyways, this immediately draws his attention and must find Twilight immediately. He runs around in a panic looking for her and then remembers something, wait, all her sciency stuff was in the basement beneath the library, he thinks to himself, she must be there!

He rushes down the stairs and into the library calling for Twilight, and as he reaches the door and reaches for the knob Twilight slowly opens the door.

“Twilight Twilight! There's this big ship thing in the Everfree and it looks really cool, but never mind that there’s an alien in it, it says so in all my comic books.”

“Shhh Spike, you’ll wake our guest.”

“Say what now?”

“The pony that was in that ship was injured so I took them down to be examined and I have a whole book of observations and notes about them!” Twilight proudly exclaims as she levitates a large pile of scrolls and a small ledger full of well...notes…. yeah , moving on…

As the two talk rather loudly as they discuss their new guest and the various appendages it may or may not have, it begins to wake up, it rubs the sleep from its eyes which were solid azure blue, the then two antenna retract back into its head. As it awoke, it couldn't help but notice some bandages over what seem to be a few cut. The alien figured that it'd question this later. It started to get up from the table and then limps its way up the stairs following the light in an attempt to get out of the cold dark basement. Just as it makes it to the top of the stairs Spike's eyes go wide.

“Spike? What are you staring at?”

“B-Behind you!”

“Wha- Ahhh!” Twilight turns about face and screams and takes a step back scarring their guest in the process causing it to cower in fear beneath Twilight even though it stands a good ten inches taller than her.

“Ummm Twi?”

“Yes Spike?”

“Care to explain this?”

“Well….”

As Twilight explains the events that leads up to this point the alien eventually calms down and just sits there for a moment before heading towards the door.

“Ah ah ah, you aren’t going anywhere, we don’t even know anything about you yet!”

At this the alien just tilts its head slightly as if it never heard Equestrian before.

“Can you understand us?” Twilight asks bluntly, this just gets the same reaction, except the alien points towards Twilight's horn, “Yes that is my horn.”

Before she can fully react, the alien extends its antenna and touches Twilight on the forehead and telepathically links with Twilight, as it happens Spike's eyes go wide in fear but before he can react Twilight holds out a hoof to him which he takes and then also links with the alien.

“Hello?” Twilight thinks.

“Hello, where am I?” The alien asks in an echoey voice

“You’re in Equestria.” Spike answers.

“What solar system is that in?”

“I-I don’t know.” Twilight mentally stammers.

‘Who am I, how did I get here?”

“I don’t know that either…I found you at your crashed ship and...” Twilight answers.

“I don’t have much time, I am weak, I must recover from the crash, I will be down there resting, good bye for now.” The alien says telepathically before it retracts its antenna and then heads down the stairs.

“That was weird…” Is all Spike has to say on the events that just transpired.

“Yeah…”

And with that day one of the alien’s adventure in Equestria comes to an end, but many more will follow.

Chapter 2: Hide and Seek

The next day Twilight woke up, her head still fuzzy from her mental chat with the alien the night prior. She slowly gets up from her bed in her old room at the library that was rebuilt after Tirek's attack and heads downstairs to the kitchen to get some food only to meet up Spike half way. Spike looks as if he was still a little tired himself,

“Hey twi, our guest is up…”

“Oh, it’s up early...must be real day pony, huh?”

“Yea, last I check he was looking around the kitchen and…”Spike says before Twilight interrupts him.

When she gets downstairs the alien is looking around the various cabinets and shelves as if it was look for something. She saw various food items placed here and there as though it had moved them, but how could it do that? Before Twilight ponders, she saw the alien stare at an unopened cabinet, it’s eyes lit up, and the drawer cabinet began to move. What was odd though is that the cabinet wasn’t glowing. This stuns and confuses Twilight and Spike.

Before the alien could remove the objects from the cabinet Twilight ask, “What are looking for?” to which the alien then extends it’s annatane again.

“I’m hungry, I need something to eat.” It’s voiced echoes to Twilight’s head.

“Oh you can speak now?” Twilight says outloud.

“Not exactly, It’s more like I’m talking telepathically in the open, kind of like a broadcast.”

“Oh neat, that’s...nice to know...Just wondering, but can you read minds?”

“Not really no, why?”

“Just asking”

The alien then went back to his search for something it could eat. As it continues, Spike comes into the kitchen holding a hand full of gems. He then looked up to twilight and then ask, “Shouldn’t we give him a name?”

“You do know it’s not a pet right? Besides I’m sure he already has one”

“Yea but, last I remember, that alien forgot his name, I’m thinking...Blue!”

The alien turned it’s head at the comment, “Blue?” it echoes.

“Yea, because you’ve got a lot of blue on your body.”

“Hmm...Well, untill I remember my real name, I shall be known as Blue.” It responded.

Blue then sighs, it doesn’t seem to find what it was looking for apparently. Blue then proceeds to move back the objects it had pulled out back into their respective cabinets. Twilight then walks over to the fridge to find something for Blue to eat. She looks a round for something simple and finds an apple. Twilight figures that could help out. She then walks over to Blue and offered it said apple.

Blue gives the apple a quick sniff. The odd fruit smells alright, it could be edible. He takes a bite only for his teeth to get stuck in the fruit. Twilight and Blue, in a huge panic, now attempt to dislodge the apple from its teeth. Blue’s attempt was to pull with its hooves, this gets it no where. Luckily for Blue, Twilight is able to teleport the apple out of its mouth.

After removing the aforementioned apple, Twilight starts to make some pancakes for herself and spike. While she has her magic work the cooking, she begins to ask Blue some more questions. First she figures she’d start with something simple.

“So, Where are you from Blue?”

“I’m not completely sure about that...my mind seems to be blank there.” Blue echoes to Twilight.

“Also, do you know anything about your species like what you eat?”

“I’m clueless on that topic as well...I must have injured severely injured my head in that crash.”

“Oh yeah! I was going to go grab your ship some time. I need to know if it has anything, if that’s ok with you.”

“Sure I guess, I might help me remember something about myself and my species.”

Around then Twilight finishes her pancakes. Her, Spike, and Blue all sat at the table to eat, well Twilight and Spike anyway. As they eat spike rummages through his crystals. He then slid one over to Blue. It then eyed the gem and looked to Spike, this left Blue confused. Spike then told Blue to try and eat the gem. Blue then telekinetically lifted the gem and attempted to bite the gem. This only hurt his teeth. Before he could ask spike if this was joke, it saw him casually eating one of these gems with no problems.

Blue then decides to get up get up and excuse itself from the table before retracting its antenne. Blue then figures that it’d better learn what it could about this “Equestria” place while it’s stuck here. Maybe it could find where they store their information.

Meanwhile, Twilight has eaten her meal and got up and decide to go out and retrieve Blue’s ship. She got up and began to make her way to the door. As she made her way there she began to hear frantic knocking at her door. Maybe some else has discovered Blue’s ship, or maybe someone saw her taking Blue back to her place. Whatever it was about, she had to deal with it calmly. When she gets to the door, she opens it and greets a very eager positively pink party pony.

“Twilight, Twilight! It's my tail! It's my tail! It's a-twitchin' twitchin'! And you know what that means…”

“Stuff already fell Pinkie.”

“I know but this one was the doozy to beat all other doozies!”

“You’re telling me…”

“Ooh ooh can I meet him?”

“How do you know it’s a him?”

“Iunno.” Pinkie says as she shrugs.

“We are trying to figure out what he eats but all the apple did was get stuck and a gem ended up hurting his teeth.”

“Hmmm, maybe he only eats sugar, maybe in water? Nah, that’s just silly.”

“Nothing can survive on sugar alone Pinkie Pie, it’s scientifically impossible.” Twilight states. As the two friends converse Blue discovers the library. He sees many tomes but he couldn’t figure out this what they said on the spines. However, Blue decides that if he’s going to be stuck on this planet, he better learn the native language. He has learned a little bit from his mental chat with Twilight and Spike, but not much. Blue then notices a book with equine in a red dress. Maybe this one will help him learn more of this “Equestrian” language.

With his telekinesis, he brings the book down to himself and onto the floor. Blue then sits down and carefully opens the book with his forehooves. The first page shows the equine standing on a hill. Blue then notices the text and decides to take a stab at it, metaphorically. He then attempts to think the words. He’d say them but Blue’s kind lack the ability to speak.

“Sss...Seeeee...sea? Oh see, see Jaun….Jun...Jane, see Jane.” Blue thinks to himself. He then looks over to the next page. It showed the same red dressed equine but she was running.

“See Jane rrrr….rrrr….ruuu….rune? See jane rune? No wait, that doesn’t sound right….Oh run, See Jane Ran” Blue manages to figure out. This language didn’t feel to hard to learn, but he also has a guess that this may not even be the beginning.

Meanwhile with Twilight and Pinkie Pie, they arrive at the site of Blue’s ship. Luckily, the not offline ship is not smoking. Pinkie hops over to the odd vessel and decides to look inside the cockpit. Inside she can see all sorts of shiny objects.

“Oooh! What’s this button for?” Pinkie says as she reaches into the cockpit to push an odd, blue glowing button. The ship then starts to make some odd noises and shake a little.

“Pinkie! What are y-” Twilight yells before the ship begins to move. Pinkie quickly hops out of the way of the ship. The ship starts to stand up right out of the crater as it’s landing gear deploys. Now the teardrop shaped ship stands up and looks almost perfect, aside from the crunched parts in the front. Pinkie then looks to the a stunned Twilight and just simply says, “Oops?”

“Pinkie Pie, don’t...touch...anything.” Twilight manages to say to Pinkie Pie after the shock wore off her. She then looks back to the ship and process to use her magic to lift the ship up. Despite the ship being massive, it is pretty light weight. Blue’s ship must be made from some kind of light alloy. Suddenly, Twilight then realizes something…. How is she going to move a huge alien ship without being seen? It then pops into her head, she could hide this thing in AJ’s barn. Luckily Apple Jack is located near the everfree, so I won’t be a long walk. Off to Sweet Apple Acres!

As the two walk on the outskirts of town in the early morning they make their way to Sweet Apple Acres and manage to remain unseen. As the two approach the old Apple family abode Twilight hides it from view and put it in her barn.

“Oh hey Twi, what’cha doin’ here this ea-What in Equestria is that thing?” AppleJack asks as she point to the teardrop shaped ship that Twilight was levitating into her barn.

“Well, funny thing is, a-”

“WellTwilightwasstargazingwhenameteorcrashedbutitturnsouttobeareallycoollookingshipandtherewasanalieninsideand-hmmahmmph.”Pinkie Pie manages to say before Twilight quickly stuffs one of her forehooves into Pinkie’s mouth, shutting her up for the time being.
“Ah’ll be honest here….I didn’t get a word of that.” AppleJack responds.

“Long story short an alien crash landed in the Everfree forest and we need a play to hide the ship while we get to know its pilot.”

“So your tellin me ya’ll left an alien alone in your house while you hide its-”

“His” Pinkie corrects

“His ship, and you don’t even know anything about it?”

“To be fair he has amnesia so he doesn’t know either.” Twilight responses

“But he did have these huge needle like teeth and he got an apple stuck on them.” Pinkie says out loud.

“How do you know about that?” Twilight asks as she looks back in shock at Pinkie Pie who merely shrugs it off which Twilight is forced to accept it as ‘Pinkie being Pinkie.’

“So why do you want to hide it in mah barn?”

“It’s the only place big enough to hide it that won’t draw attention.”

“Yeah, the castle is too big and crystally to put it in there.”Pinkie agrees.

“Not to mention it is in plain sight.” Twilight adds,then she tries to move the ship into the barn only for it to get stuck on the door way. Apparently the landing gear makes it too tall now. She looks to Pinkie Pie who had presses said button. Pinkie then shrugs and hops over to the ship. She then scales the ship and then hops into the cockpit. Inside she looks for the button from before only to not remember. They all look so shiny and glowy. By sheer dumb luck, she press the landing gear button and it retracted. Pinkie then hops out and and Twilight stores the ship with no problems.

Now that problem is solved, for now, Twilight returns to her old house in the library. She opened the door only to find a surprised Spike. He looks as if he just something unusual. “Twilight! You gotta come see this!” Spiked yells eagerly. He quickly escorts Twilight to the castle Library to Blue with a few children's books scattered around and him reading them. Blue then looked up and waves his forehoof to the two of them. Twilight then used her magic to put the books Blue wasn’t reading back and saw what he reading, a book called “Colors and Shapes”. “Fast learner.” Twilight thought to herself.

Chapter 3: Bon Appetit

Several hours have past as Blue fills his head with many tidbits of Knowledge about Equestria, however, there are still a few things that confuse him. Luckily for him, Twilight answers any questions he has… after he finds something to eat. He almost forgot he’s still hungry till his stomach starts to ache. He just can’t concentrate on much any more. Then he remembers the apple issue, when Twilight had pulled it from that odd, white, metal trunk. He quickly dashes back to the fridge and he saw many types of food inside. Twilight, who had seen Blue dashed by, has followed him to see what’s up.

“What is it Blue? Did you find something you can eat?” Twilight says to Blue who seems to be, sniffing?

He then extends his antennas and says “None of this stuff seems to smell good…”

“Wait, you can smell stuff? That’s kind of interesting” Twilight responses.

“I need to find something to eat, I can hardly think like this!” Blue says to Twilight in a not so good mood. He then slams the fridge door in frustration.

Twilight is then to be shocked and starts to back up. Blue looks surprised and quickly goes to apologize. After retracting his antennas, Blue then decides that he’d better get something to eat. But it have to be something not sentient, he’d feel terrible if that happened. Twilight then comes up with an idea! She quickly grabs the apple from before (She had placed it a ziplock bag) and decided to take it to Fluttershy. She can be able to identify Blue’s teeth marks easily.

“Ok Blue, I’ll be right back. Just need to see a friend about something” Twilight says as she puts the apple into her saddlebag and readies to leave. Blue just simply nods and watches as twilight leaves the library.

As Twilight leaves the library is left with a eerie feeling of nothingness as if all was set and quiet.

“Finally, she’s gone...now i can think of a better and quicker way to get food.”He thinks to himself as he eyes the refrigerator and then the door.

“That’s it.” Blue thinks. “I’ll go outside and find food for myself.”

He walks to the door and heads outside, the light from sun scorches his retinas. After a few blinks, Blue’s eyes adjusts to the outdoors. He’s sight is then greeted with what seems like many other ponies. Some of them have horns, other with wings but never both, curious, and others that had neither which just baffled him, were they lesser races? Was there some sort of hierarchy among the different types? Before he could continue his thoughts, a surprisingly good odor floats in the air. It smells, tasty, and...mouth watering.

He then starts to follow the intoxicating aroma wafting in the breeze. As Blue walks, he does his best to keep his tail down and nose to the ground. Most of the crowd don’t seem to notice the Blue sniffing around. Soon he comes to a bush, why would a bush smell so good? He then hears something rustling in the bush. Blue then proceeds to put his face into the bush to investigate. Inside he finds a small, fluffy, white rodent? What he did know is that it was the source of the intoxicating aroma. Almost as if he wasn’t thinking, Blue begins to slowly approach this rodent. His jaws proceeds to open up wide and wider, and even wider all the while bearing his many sharp pointy teeth, which seemed to extend. Suddenly, the rodent quickly jumps and bops Blue on his nose. This causes him shut his mouth and pull his head out of the bush. He then rubs his nose from the impact. He then sees the rodent run away. Maybe it could lead him to something he can eat. He then gives chase after it.

Meanwhile with Twilight, she has arrives at Fluttershy’s home.only to find the cottage empty with a note on the door

“Out to tend to beary’s broken sprained wrist from playing, will be back soon, if that’s okay with you.”

“Darn it, I guess I’ll just have to wait here for her to return, Celestia knows where in the woods that bear’s den is.”

Blue on the other hoof, has come to a river after chasing the white rodent. He has a good feeling that it must of been sentient. That means it would not be a good idea to eat. He then notices something in the river, almost like something swimming in it. He then proceeds to look into the river. Flowing inside where small aquatic creatures. To make sure that these swim-beast weren’t sentient, Blue extends one of his antennae into the water. Upon touching one of these creatures, he sees that they have very primitive thoughts.

“Swim, eat, swim, eat…”. This meant that they were non sentient and therefore safe to eat. He stops to think about how he would catch one of these creatures. As he thought, Blue suddenly felt something slimy rub his face. He then looks down and notices a long, flexible, black tongue. That’s pretty interesting and potentially useful, especially for the task at hand. He then sticks his face part way into the water, opens his mouth super wide, and then extends his tongue out.

Using his tongue like a lure, he wiggles the tip of his prehensile tongue like that of a worm or snake he read about in the books in the library. After a few tries he manages to catch a fish’s attention and bingo, the fish takes the bait and he bites, Blue quickly retracts his tongue and chomps down on the fish, Blue’s many syringe needle like teeth piercing its body, killing it instantly, a quick and painless death for the poor fish, but a necessary death nonetheless. As he got ready to remove the fish from his teeth, he hears a quick yelp of fear. As Blue turns to see the source of the panicked cry and saw a quivering mass of a butter yellow pony with wings, ‘I think that one is a pegasus’ Blue thinks to himself as he approaches the fearful mare only to be pounced upon by another mare before he can reach her, the dead fish still in impaled amongst his teeth.

“Hey buddy, get away from Fluttershy or i’ll-”

“Do what?” Blue asks as he stands up as he extends his antennae so he may broadcast his thoughts to the attacking cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail.

“What are you doing, stop that or I’ll-”

“Do what? What have I done to incur your wrath?”

“You scared Fluttershy and were going to-”

“Do what?”

“Stop saying that! And how are you talking with a mouth like that?!”

“I a not speaking, I am projecting my thoughts to you telepathically.”

“Well stop it, it is ticking me off!”

“It is my only means of communication, would you have me remain silent for the rest of my days?”

“No just stop doing that, and get that fish out of your teeth, it’s creeping me out.”

With that Blue opens his mouth again as he uses his tongue to remove the fish from its impalement on his long pointy teeth and swallows whole.

“That is creepy.”

“I do not intend to be ‘creepy’ “

“But why did you scare Fluttershy?”

“I was merely looking for a source of sustenance to quell my hunger and-”

“Couldn’t you eat an apple or something?”

“He tried that.” Twilight says as she walks on the scene.

“Twilight, you know this thing?”

“That thing has a name, he may not remember it but his name for now is Blue.”

“That’s a stupid name.” Rainbow Dash says as she gets off Blue

“Also get off him, give him some respect, and I don’t think he intended to scare Fluttershy he was just hungry, he hasn’t eaten since he got here.”

“How did he get here, did he fall from the sky?” Rainbow suggests mockingly.

“You are correct, my vessel plummeted from orbit into the atmosphere and onto your planet, beyond that I do not know how I got here.”

“You’re an alien?”

“Logic would say I am.”

“Well are you?”

“Yes.”

“Rainbow calm down, this is just a misunderstanding.”

“Uh girls, your friend there seems to have fainted…” Blue says to the Twilight and Rainbow Dash as points to a knocked out Fluttershy.

He then says, “Maybe we should help her up? Well, you two better help her. I need to wash this blood off my face” to which he then goes over to the river to clean his face off.

“Fluttershy!” The two cry as they rush to their fainted friend, luckily she didn’t hurt herself when she fell over.

“Oh my, what happened?”

“Well you fainted when you saw Blue eating a fish most likely.”

“Who’s Blue?” Twilight simple points a hoof at Blue who has just wiped the blood from his muzzle.

Blue looks over to Fluttershy and proceeds to give her a quick wave and a small smile, “Hello there.” He then slowly walks over to Fluttershy and calmly apologizes for scaring her. With all the misunderstandings behind them the four went to Fluttershy’s cottage and Twilight shows her the apple with the teeth marks, Fluttershy agrees that his diet is indeed carnivorous, but is happy to hear he only eats fish, so she agrees to supply Blue with a few fish everyday to keep him going. With all said and done Twilight and Blue head back to the library to rest after their busy day.
