The tunnel grew colder---Blitz and I were close to the surface now. Soon we'd climb up into the harrowing wind, to find our way through whatever nightmares were waiting there. My long journey was nearly at the end but would i have the courage...the will to see it through? Blitz snapped me out of my daze come on Atomic he shouted he was almost at the top of the ladder. Hey Atomic when you left your home station did you ever think you'd end up here not knowing if we’re going to save the world or destroy it i didn't know what to say i tried to focus on the task at hand and not think about anything else. Blitz had reached the top of the ladder i was right behind him but before i got to the top the ladder broke away from its hinges and started to fall i raced up the falling ladder and jumped hoping to grab the ledge gotcha Blitz said pulling me up well we can't go back come on he rushed to the airlock there's something inside their he said press the button i pressed it but the door started to open and stopped aah! Shit like this is always breaking down Atomic use the manual switch. I grabbed the switch and turned it to my surprise it worked the door was now half open Blitz and I crawled under it and continued we would soon reach the surface. Blitz open a door unaware that on the other side was the world filled with poisoned air shit gas masks on he shouted while gasping for air. We’d had reached the surface Blitz was looking around at the building we were in must have been something back in the day.....not anymore come on there waiting for us just then i heard a something fall we're not alone are we Blitz said mutants open fire! He shouted. They were circling us watch my back Atomic one by one the they fell but it seemed for everyone that die two took its place. We were so focused on what was around us we had forgotten about the second floor above us one of the mutants climbed to the second floor and jumped at me it caught me of guard i was thrown to the ground where it tried to maul me to death i pulled out my knife and stabbed it it's skin was rock hard it didn't stop me i continued stabbing it each time i stabbed it the less it moved and in the confusion i had killed it by stabbing it in the head the beast stopped moving i throw it of me and pulled my knife out of its skull Blitz chuckled what doesn't kills you come on there waiting on us. We exited the building and once again we were in the freezing cold. The tower there it is Blitz said pointing at the top of what was left of castle that's where we need to go come on we need to keep moving we head towards the castle gates where we met other rangers glad to see you sir hey the pony in the car said listen can you hear that he quickly moved to the turret and got ready for combat. Form a circle Blitz said we all rushed to our positions. Stay calm watch your backs boys. We were being circled okay looks like this is going to be a lot harder than the library Atomic a few tense seconds past my heart was pounding not sure of what was going to happen next. On my mark then one of the mutants lashed out towards me shit open fire theses ponies seemed unchanged even in the face of death there were hundreds of mutants and only five of us with limited ammo hold the line Blitz shouted the fighting seemed like it would never end bullet after bullet clip after clip it seemed like it we would run out of ammo and die then i was tackled by one of them I hit the ground face first fortunately my visor in my mask didn't shatter my rifle had been knocked away from me and as I was on the ground when one ponies looked at the sky and shouted demons I quickly crawled to a pile of rubble when one of the demons swept down and grabbed the turret and throw it away from the truck and into the horde of mutants the next thing i heard was screaming and then an explosion then one of the demons came right at me...

Eight days earlier
Life was never easy in the tunnels, but it was our home. There was comfort in its routines, in seeing the same people day after day. But since the mutant attacks had escalated, fear ruled the station. I had just turn twenty...and i could have never have imagined what would follow on the morning that my stepfather's friend, Hunter, arrived at the barricade. Atomic awake at last i see come on Hunter should be hear any minute now he should have news from stations my stepfather Ashfall left my room i followed him we were heading to the forward barricade on the way there one of my friends told me that another patrol had been attack the hospital was full and people were now thinking about leaving the safety of the station. Not long after we reach the hospital my stepfather asked how the wounded were doing. Not good we lost two the morning the doctor said shit the dark ones don't kill out right but they damage a victim's mind. We walked through the hospital the wounded were babbling i could not understand them i don't think the doctors could either. The hall was right next to the hospital. We walked towards the guards when we heard knocking at the gate that leads to the surface. The guards were confused what the hell that could that be one of them said its Hunter Ashfall said open the gate mutants don't knock the other guard said. They pulled the steel bars to open the gate and when it finally opened there stood a pony with a huge bag he was covered in ammo and armour i couldn't see his face because of his eyeshield.Hunter it's good to see you Ashfall said thanks know close your gate his voice was as cold as the surface it went right through me.It's been a long time Ashfall said moving towards him. Hunter raised his eyeshield it's good to see you Ashfall hello Atomic he said i thought he hadn't seen me it had been so long since he had been to the station. What happening in the outside world these days Ashfall said not much most of what i hear is of your station and the undead infesting your tunnels they walked over and sat at a burning fire and continued to talk then Hunter turned his attention to me Atomic i met a merchant who was selling postcards of manehatten reminded me of your wall. He handed me the postcard and he continued to talk to Ashfall these are not the normal mutant creatures this is something else. Something much worse. Hunter grunted dark ones well whatever in hell they are my order has a motto if it's hostile you kill. Ashfall was about to speak when the intercom went intruders in the main vent shaft---there coming in from above! shit just what we needed one of the guard said there are wounded here just behind that wall...the hospital the other one said go take you team to the tunnels Hunter and I...Ashfall we must stay here and defend the hall Hunter said okay Atomic grab a weapon i never went anywhere without my knife but i went to the locker and picked up a pistol and some ammo and got ready. Damn they never come this far into the station Ashfall said it's the hospital they can smell the blood Hunter said then the lights went out and the station alarm went off a tense few seconds went by then one of them came out of the main vent and jump at Hunter he hit it with the butt of his rifle and knocked it to the ground and stabbed it with his knife then three more came out of the main vent i fired my pistol at them but all i heard was *click*click* shit i thought i had forgot to load then they started to come out the secondary vents Ashfall started shooting at them it's hopeless---we can't stop them Hunter! keep firing Hunter shouted they swarm kept coming at us it seemed it would never end. I continued to fire i had two bullets left they were already loaded i didn't know what to do then the alarm stopped are you alright Atomic? Ashfall said of course--he's a dead eye shot this one Hunter said catching his breath then he went over to one of the corpse and said no dark ones here--just the usual "tunnel trash" Ashfall was panicking moving left to right with his hoof on his head even when don't see them--the dark ones are there. Fear--it's their weapon that's what made the mutants run through the tunnels like rats. The dark ones are not simple mutants--there Pono Novus, the next step in evolution. You’ve heard of "survival of the fittest" guess what? We lost. Hunter was not moved by this what has happen to you Ashfall? you can go like lambs to the slaughter--I'll hang on to whatever life I've got left with teeth and claws and I'll take more than few of your "Pono Novus" with me to hell Hunter said you think your some old movie cowboy? have a look Hunter! ten soldiers trained in combat; their bodies broken their minds gone. Then a soldier rushed through the door the dark ones--they destroyed the outer guard post--!! we ran and the alarm went off again time seemed to slow down as we ran to the outer guard post and when we got there was just death fifteen guards where stationed there and out of that fifteen only three were alive but they were like the people in the hospital there minds where gone Hunter looked at one of the corpse discord knows what’s happening out there, beyond your perimeter. I must go recon the situation listen carefully,Atomic.If I'm not back here by morning, you must get to polis station and find a colt named Blitz tell what has happen to me, and what's stirring in the northern tunnels. Show this to Blitz so he knows I've sent you he handed me a dog tag the look of it told me that it must have been before the war Hunter continued i trust everything to you Atomic don't let me down he started to walk into the tunnel if we are to survive, this threat must be eliminated. No matter the cost--eliminated understand? He waked off into the darkness nopony knew if he would come back...
