When Worlds Collide

It has been at least a month since the incident with the Elementals, and now Flare's life has just gotten more interesting. He has now become a teacher for Frost, the Elemental of Ice. Flare's job is to train Frost to control his Elemental powers so that he can become stronger and help protect Equestria. To Frost, this was a great opportunity to redeem himself when he was under mind control. However to Flare, it was exhausting. Not only did he have to teach around 25 or 30 other recruits who want to join the Royal Guard, but now he has to teach another pony on a completely different subject. Fortunately for Flare, Twilight Sparkle had invited him to meet her friends at Canterlot High for the weekend. When Flare asked her about Canterlot High, she simply said that it was like our world, but different. That left Flare with only his imagination to wonder what Twilight meant by different.

However Flare didn't worry to much about that. Flare found that this weekend excursion would be an excellent opportunity for him and Frost to get some proper training without his work getting in the way.

It was Friday afternoon and Flare, Frost, and Twilight all gathered around the portal that was in Twilight's castle. They all seemed ready to go with their saddle bags and what not, but Frost seemed a bit off this morning.

" Hey Frost, are you ok", Flare asked, a little concerned about how his friend was acting.

" Do I have to go", Frost asked, hoping that the answer was no. Flare just rolled his eyes and sighed.

" Yes Frost, I've told you this before. A weekend without my work getting in the way is the perfect opportunity for us to train so that you can get more in tuned to you Elemental powers", Flare said.

" Don't forget though that the girls and I want to do other things for the weekend other than watching you boys train", Twilight said.

" Of course Twilight, Frost and I wouldn't want to miss out on trying on new clothes at Rarity's boutique, or getting a mud bath at the spa", Flare said sarcastically.

" Oh shut up Flare", Twilight said followed by a cute giggle. Flare soon joined in on the laughter. However Frost was not amused.

" I know why I have to go, but why do I have to go through that", Frost said pointing at the portal. Flare looked at the portal, then back to Frost with a confused look.

" Because this is the only way we can get from here to Canterlot High", Flare said.

" Frost what's up with you and portals", Twilight asked.

" I don't know really, maybe just the thought of going through a mysterias vortex and not knowing what's going to happen to you when entering just sort of puts me on edge", Frost said.

" Frost there's nothing to worry about, right Twilight", Flare said. Twilight made a guilty look when she saw that Flare and Frost were both looking at her.

" Well...you do sort of feel like you're being torn apart for a brief nano second", Twilight said. Frost made a sound gulp when he heard that, now he was more terrified then before. Flare then gave Twilight a serious glare.

" Congratulations Twilight, now you scared him", Flare said. Twilight just rolled her eyes.

" Belive me Flare, I was scared before she said that", Frost said feeling a little embarrassed. Flare then put his hoof on Frost's shoulder.

" Frost, just trust us ok", Flare said. Frost then looked over to Twilight, who smiled and nodded, going along with Flare's statement. After some thought, Frost let out a deep breath, and nodded.

" Fine, I'll do it", Frost said.

" YAY", Flare and Twilight said while clapping.

" Oh shut up", Frost said. Flare and Twilight were soon laughing, and soon Frost was joining in as well. After they had there laugh, Twilight spoke up.

" Alright then, let's not waste any more time", Twilight said.

" Agreed", Flare said. Twilight was the first one to go into the portal, soon Flare and Frost followed her lead. Little did Flare and Frost know, that this weekend would soon turn into one of the most intense battles of their life.

Meanwhile at Canterlot High, just about 20 minutes away till Flare, Frost, and Twilight entered the portal

It was Friday afternoon, school had just ended for the students at Canterlot High, and pretty much everyone was competing to see who could get to the buses or cars first. Pretty much everyone was having a good time now that the weekend has arrived, except for one boy. He wore dark red jeans, white shoes, and a red and white hoodie. His skin was tan, his eyes were ruby red, and his hair was red and white. His name was Fire Flare. Today, and like most days, was just another round of name calling and beatings. The only time Fire would feel relieved from the pain was on the weekends, where he would isolate himself from the world. However that fact slowly proved more worthless as Fire soon came to realize that it was only a matter of time before he had to face the pain again.

Fire was all by himself in the hallways of his school, looking for his locker. When he reached it, he began to pile up his back pack with books and papers. That's when he heard the voice of a girl behind him.

" Fire Flare", the girl said. Fire recognized that voice, he knew it all to well. However this was the voice that he dreaded for his entire time in high school. When Fire turned around, he expected no else other than that same girl. She was about the same age as he was, she wore a black leather jacket, along purple shirt underneath with a sun logo on it. She wore an orange, yellow, and purple skirt; along with black and purple boots. Her skin was an orangish tan color, she had light green eyes, and finally she had that distinguished red and yellow hair. Her name was Sunset Shimmer.

Sunset had a look of worry ran across her face, on the contrary, Fire had a look of utter disgust on his face.

" Well, well, well, if it isn't Sunset Shimmer, here to spread another false rumor about me. Oh wait no need, I made one up my self", Fire then pulls out a slip of paper from his back pack and clears his throat, " Fire Flare brutally beats up an innocent girl in a dark alley way. Rolls off the tongue doesn't it", Flare said. Sunset's face then showed more guilt then before.

" I know that I've been mean to you in the past, but I-", Sunset said before being cut off by Fire.

" Mean? Mean is pretty subtle wouldn't you say? Now evil would be the proper term to describe the utter hell that I went through for the past two years. Do you not realize what torment I had to suffer through because of you? The only reason I stay here is so I can finish my education, so I can get a well paying job, and getting out of this hellhole", Fire said.

" I understand Fire Flare, and that's why I-", Sunset said before being interrupted again by Fire.

" No, you will never understand. No one in this God forsaken school will ever understand what level of pain I had to endure through", Fire said.

" Fire Flare, please just listen to me. I know what I did was wrong and I'm sorry for that. I came here today to apologies, and ask that we if we could start over as friends", Sunset said. At that moment, Fire grabbed her by the jacket and slammed her against the lockers. This sudden move shocked Sunset so much that she almost screamed. Sunset was soon filled with fear as she saw Fire's hatred in his eyes.

" Are you that stupid to believe that after all you've done to me that we would automatically become friends. Hate to break to you sweetheart, but that's not how life works. You ruined my life, and I will never forgive you for that. I don't want your apology, and I don't want your friendship. All I want is for you to know that I hate you, and I don't want anything to do with you anymore", Fire said. Fire then roughly let sunset go, violently closed his locker, and stormed out of the school. Sunset was left there in utter fear, soon though Sunset went from scared to sad. And soon enough, she was crying. That's when Applejack came by and found her there, she went over to Sunset and comforted her.

" It's ok sugar cube, let's just head to the statue, Twilight and her friend should be here soon", Applejack said. After wiping up her tears Sunset nodded. And with that Applejack and Sunset headed towards the statue where the others were.
