The New Student

When they got to Principal Celestia's office, Danto and Aldon put their ears up against the door to listen to what their friends were discussing to Principal Celestia.

"Dark Magic? I find that very hard to believe."

"Is that Principal Celestia?" Danto whispered.

"Yep."

"Those 3 girls came in my office and were absolutely delightful."

"Sure, I can believe that." Aldon whispered.

"Perhaps Sunset shimmer is eager to make someone else a bad element, so her actions at the Fall Formal become old news."

"That's not right. Vice Principal Luna doesn't talk like that."

"I could see why you may think that but-"

"That's not what's happening we saw all of this go down in the cafeteria too."

"Yes, isn't your band supposed to be part of the Musical Showcase?"

"Yes."

"Perhaps you're all just worried the Dazzlings will steal your spotlight."

"Okay, this is going somewhere I don't like." Aldon said.

"You're telling me and we're eavesdropping on this conversation."

"The Dazzlings?"

"It's the name of their musical group, that's why they came by my office earlier to sign up for the showcase. They even sang a little song for Vice Principal Luna and I."

"They did?"

"Yes and we think having a Battle of the Bands is a marvelous idea."

"Welp. I think it's safe to say they're gone."

"Duly Noted. And it looks like its up to them to save this school. Again."

"Wait... We weren't affected by the song either. I think we have something in us as well like the magic with them."

"Danto don't be stupid. We were listening to it also when they were singing. So that wouldn't mean that..." Aldon was saying before thinking what Danto said through.

"And there you go. We might have some kind of magic in us as well. If we can discover it as well, maybe we might even be able to assist our friends."

"Even if we discover it, how can we help them?"

"By signing up for the Battle of the Bands."

"You want to take a risk like that?"

"Come on it's not going to happen until the weekends, we have enough time to practice."

"Okay fine. We'll go with your idea, there's no telling what's gonna happen at the battle though."

"Don't worry, we'll be prepared."

The doorknob turned as Danto and Aldon ran to sit down by Clem and El.

"Well, you guys can talk to her with whatever you need to tell her."

"Alright. We'll catch up with you later."

"See ya later."

"Alright. Clem, El, " Danto said getting Clem and El's attention. "What do you guys think of joining in on the Battle of the Bands?"

"I think it is a good idea, but what are we going to plan on playing?"

"I think we should go old school."

"'Old School?'"

"Yeah, like something that people appreciate like... Rock n' Roll."

"The good old school common genre of music that is the few most popular genres that ever was made?"

"Yep."

"Alright, but-"

"We'll find out what to name our band in a second and find what instruments do play later today."

"Okay..."

"So what's our band name going to be?"

They pondered on what they could name their band.

"The Rockers?"

"Too cheesy and obvious."

"The Shredders?"

"Hm... I don't know, like the shredder part though."

"How about adding something at the end of that?"

"Like what?"

"Shredders of Darkness?"

"Nah, Rainbow and her friends might get the wrong idea."

"That's true."

"Shredders of the Elements?"

"Something tell me they'll get the wrong idea of that as well."

"How about, The Shredders of Light?"

"Well, It's not a lot, but it's going to have to do."

"All in favor?"

"Aye."

"Aye."

"Aye."

"Alrighty then, Shredders of Light it is. Let's go sign up." They walked into Principal Celestia's office as she looked up from writing in some papers.

"Hello gentlemen, what can I help you with?"

"We want to sign up for the Battle of the Bands."

"Okay, just write your band name here." Celestia said putting a clipboard in front of them. Danto then signed the paper with their band name on it. "Alright, we'll see you at the battle."

"See ya."

As the door closed, they did a 4-way high five and celebrated a little.

"Yeah! We're in!"

"But now we need to find out on what instruments we need to play."

"Good point."

"We'll worry about it later, let's check on the others."

"Right." Danto texted Rainbow asking her where they are.

Where are you?

We're outside by the statue.

"Where are they?"

"Their outside in the front by the statute."

"Let's go then." Clem said as they ran to the statue where their friends were at. They all then met up and they were discussing on what was going on in the cafeteria with the Dazzlings.

"Then let's take them down. It's not like we haven't tangled with dark magic and whooped it's sorry butt." Rainbow said playing around with a soccer ball. "Uh, no offense."

Sunset sighed, "None taken, again."

"But that was when Twilight was here. There maybe be some kind of magic inside us, but it only comes out when we play music. I sure don't know how to use it to 'Whoop anyone's butt'."

Rarity sighed, "If only we can get a message to Twilight, maybe she can tell us how to break the spell the Dazzling's cast on our friends."

"Well that's not gonna happen, the portal is closed," Rainbow said tossing the ball at the statue causing Rarity to duck as if the ball was going to hit her and mess up her nail polish, making her accidently mark her arm with it while letting out a shocked gasp. "And I got the feeling they don't exactly have phones where she's from." Rainbow said catching the ball.

Sunset was thinking on how they could get a message to her and get her help to stop the Dazzlings. Then she remembered something. "I may have a idea to get in touch with Twilight."

"Alrighty then, lead the way." Clem said as they all followed Sunset.

They ended up by her locker as Sunset searched in a box for something that she had. "When I was Princess Celestia's student back in Equestria, she gave me this." she said wiping the dust off a book with a symbol like the one on her shirt.

"The symbol looks like the one on her shirt." El whispered to his friends.

"You're right, that's a little... off."

"Oh well, don't really question it."

"Got it."

"Even after I abandoned my studies, I held onto it. Deep down I knew I was making a big mistake and I still wanted a way to reach out to her." She said flipping through the pages and stopped to where there was nothing but blank pages on forth. "Maybe it still works."

"That's a book darling. What do you mean 'Maybe it still works?'"

"It used to be that if I wrote something here, it would appear in the pages of a book back Princess Celestia library. I get a message to her, then she could get a message to Princess Twilight." She said.

"Well, What are you waiting for? Get to writing!" Rainbow said handing Sunset a pen.

Sunset grabbed the pen and sighed, "Been a long time since I wrote these words. Dear Princess Celestia..." She said as she wrote as El saw the pen was glowing as Sunset was writing.

"Wow, didn't expect this."

"Well, what do you expect? You, Clem, and Aldon have seen stuff in this school that I haven't yet. Well, not a lot that is."

"Good point."

Later...

"Alright, the message is sent."

"So, now what?"

"I guess we wait until Twilight gets here."

El groaned, "Why waiting?" he said as he banged his head on a locker.

"Aldon?"

"He's impatient."

"Noted."

"Well, let's pass the time by the statue. Danto needs to see who this 'Twilight' were talking about is." said Rainbow.

"Oh yeah, that's right. Danto hasn't met the Princess of Friendship." Said Applejack.

"I probably won't really call her by all of that. Probably just 'Twilight'."

"Good call." said El as they made their way to the statue out front.

As they made it to the statue, each one of them found something to pass the time. Rarity did Fluttershy's nails, Pinkie and Applejack was playing cards with El and Clem watching, Sunset was writing in the book, Rainbow was tossing her soccer ball back and forth, Danto and Aldon were just sitting tossing a baseball to each other. Applejack and Pinkie set down their cards to see who's was higher as El and Clem watched and commented on what they had as they put them down.

"Ha! 4 Aces." Clem said.

"Ha! 4... Jokers?" El said as he looked at Pinkie as she gave a smile. "Well, that's that."

"I thought a deck of cards only had 2 jokers."

"Well, it's Pinkie being Pinkie. We can't expect what she has in store."

"Good point."

Rainbow sighed, "I'm starting to think maybe she's not coming." she said as a purple blur flew out landing on the ground. Everyone Except Danto said "Twilight!".

Twilight groaned rubbing her head, "I'm back."

Danto and Aldon got up as Danto asked, "Is that Twilight?"

"Yep, from the world of a place called Equestria. Doesn't she look beautiful?"

"I mean she looks good but-" Danto was saying before catching what Aldon said. "Did you say what I think you said?"

"What?"

'Hm... Let me try something.' "What if I said she's dumb?"

"She's not dumb, she's one of the few smartest girls I ever met."

"Ok... What if I said she's ugly?"

"You take that back! She's not ugly, she's beautiful."

"So, she's boring?"

"No she's not," Aldon sighed, "What I would do be with her."

"You like don't you?"

"Yeah..." Aldon said before snapping out of the trance he was in, "I mean, no."

"You..."

"Don't man."

"You-You have a crush on her don't you? And don't play dumb with me, I can tell when you're playing stupid with me."

"Okay, fine. Yes I like her. Every since she first came here I've felt as if I could express how I feel about her by telling her, writing a love letter by a anonymous person, etcetera, you know?"

"No. But I understand. Your secret is safe with me."

"Thanks."

As Danto and Aldon walked toward Twilight, Rainbow and her friends moved were Twilight could see them.

"Hello. Who are you two?"

"I'm Danto and this is Aldon."

"Hi."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Twilight Sparkle."

"We know but by different ways. I know you by Rainbow and her friends talking about you. Aldon, however, saw you stop Sunset from the Fall Formal." Danto said looking at Sunset by the fact Danto was going to say what AJ and Rainbow said to her earlier.

"So, your Aldon?"

"Yep, It's nice to see you here again. Sunset already told you what's wrong, right?"

"Yes, and I got some bad new about those new girls." Twilight said as everyone groaned because what they thought of didn't want to happen...happened.
