Secret of the Sun

Twilight looked down at the book hesitant about the choice before her, she had two options, she could either use the spell and learn the truth of the whole entire matter, or she could destroy the book and forget the spell instead.
She debated this struggle in her mind of course, could she do it to her mentor, after all, princess Celestia did control the sun, what could she ever possibly be hiding? She sighed, if she didn’t cast the spell there would always be doubt in the back of her mind, if she did then what would that say about her?
That she didn’t trust her closest and the very best mentor that there was?
That she still had some small tiny little bit of doubt in her mind?
Honestly yes, she still did, and probably always did have that within her mind, she looked down at the book again and struggled with herself internally, it was a conflict of moral interest, but as she argues with herself the choice became perfectly clear and obvious as well too, she just had to cast the spell, just to make sure, just to finally learn the truth. She sighed and picked it up, well, now her mind was set and her choice would probably be final, there was only one thing left to do, and that was to meet the princess of course. But that part would be very easy enough since she enjoyed the presence of her student.
And indeed, it was not very hard to schedule in a meeting with the princess completely alone in a private room where they would not be disturbed at all.
“I am very glad that you would want to talk with me Twilight,” Celestia said, “But I sense that something is greatly troubling you, what is it?”
“Oh, nothing too much, I’ve just been wondering some things and stuff about you,” she said. “Well, what were you wondering about though exactly?”
“Well, where did Equestria come from, where are we going, who are we, who are you, who is your sister, where do you come from and what do you want?”
“Oh my, that sure is a whole lot of questions, but I’m afraid that you are not yet ready for the answers,” she said. “Princess, I want the answers, and I’m a princess, I think that it’s about time that I get the answers, and if I don’t I’m going to have to force you with this book,” she said pulling it out, “And that is something that I really do not want to ever to do you because you’re not only my teacher and mentor, but you’re also almost like a mother too as well.”
Celestia’s eyes and face turned into great shock, surprise and fear when she saw the book, “Twilight, I’m going to ask you this once, where did you get that book from exactly?” she said. “I thought that you gave it to me…”
“That is clearly not my writing, it was spell replicated my student.”
“Well I don’t care, you’re either going to tell me the truth right now or else I’m going to force it out of you instead,” she said. “No, I will not, please my student, you don’t have to do this, you’re still not ready for the answers.”
“But why? Is it because you’re afraid or are you just so lazy and stupid that you lie around here all day just hoping that your problems will be solved by others, especially me and my friends? Because I don’t think that’s how a leader ot ruler should be as, they should make other great leaders and not just followers instead,” she said. “I will not answer you my student.”
“Then let me do it for you instead,” Twilight said casting the spell on Celestia.
Suddenly once the spell hit it was as if her mane and coat became darker, where once it had been pure white it now seemed tainted, darker, and when Celestia lifter her head Twilight saw emotions in her eyes that she had never seen before, hate, agony, pain, sorrow, despair, suffering strife, misery, anger, and so much more, so many things that were secretly in the heart and mind of the one she called a mentor. “So,” she said in a much darker voice as curtains closed partially all around the room making it half illuminated and making the appearance of Celestia even scarier than it already was before, “You wish to know my secrets? Very well then, but be warned, they are very much dark indeed, you wish to know of the past history of Equestria, then so be it as you wish. Long ago this world was not as it is now, once it was completely filled with the things you and I fight, not much remains of the old world, but anything that has we have very carefully preserved and saved somewhere that only me and my sister and one other pony knows of, we are the only things that survived the war, the only things that will survive, the past world didn’t believe in magic, and that’s what ultimately killed them off, and now I think that it’s finally time that you see the past and what remains of our actions.”
And with that said Celestia touched her hoof very gently on Twilight’s nose and suddenly thousands of images and stories instantly filled her head and mind. “No, this can’t be possible, I can’t believe all of this, an entire population, the human race, destroyed, gone, because of us? Because of magic?” she said.
“Yes, I’m afraid that it is so my child, nothing really remains of them anymore, but I’m afraid that this is not even the worst of it, due to the magical mirror to the human world that you know of it seems that our universe, and those of others too as well, it seems that they are starting to merge, starting to combine and interact in new ways previously not thought up of before, this has caused the attraction of many beings that can travel the multiverse, some are evil and bad, some are very good instead, but there are some who are just like Discord instead, crazy, insane, and they just want to have fun, a person only going by the name of Q for his real true name was forgotten long ago, but he goes by many other names and has many that willing serve him too as well.
Yet he is not as immortal or invincible as he thinks, there are many rules for the multiverse, ones which you have luckily not broken, these beings that can travel the realms, the worlds, they either keep and enforce the rules, they break them, or in the case of Q, they disregard him. But I don’t call Q by his given name, I call him John instead, and please don’t ask me why, just don’t.”
“Why do you call him that?” Twilight said. Celestia sighed, “Because I think that it might be his one and only real true name, but anyhow he has taken to having fun and playing around with any universe and world as he wants, he has no care for who he hurts, pony, human, animal, creature, beast or otherwise, he has no regard for anything living and breathing and intelligent, he has no real true regard for anything at all either, he just wants to have fun and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants unless someone or something is willing, ready, and able to finally stop him and his chaotic and mischievous ways, if he is not stopped then he will only continue forever because he will always be bored and always looking for more fun. Yet despite all of his interference there is, or at least there will be a very easy way to defeat him when the right time finally comes, yet when it does you may see something that you greatly fear, a version of yourself so horrible and terrible that you’ll swear never to be her, one that is essentially the evil opposite and extreme of you, this has happened to me, my sister, and even my very best friend once, we all saw something that we can never forget no matter how much we might try, and it will never ever leave us, but please, do not dwell on these matters, such stuff and things like this is none of your concern and it should never ever be either, you are still far too young and have much to learn before you even consider such matters like this, you have yet a long and hard journey ahead of you, and until the time that you are finally ready please do not act upon the words that I have said here today, and tell no pony else about this either.”
“I won’t, but why have you not ever told me any of this before?”
“Because I did not believe that you were truly ready to hear it just yet.”
“Well, you might have been right, but it was still wrong to not tell me that you were hiding something, but is there anything else you would like to share?”
“I once dated Star Swirl the great and powerful, I also know who let the dogs out, it was Discord, and I was the one to finish off eating every gingerbread house and cake and yes I do sometimes fart in royal meetings,” she said.
“HA!!! I KNEW THAT YOU DID!!!” Luna suddenly said floating down very gently from the ceiling, “You wouldn’t tell the truth now but finally you have and are because of this book, and you have me to thank for this whole entire matter of course,” she said. “Wait, are you the one that gave me this book?” Twilight said. “Yes, I did do that, but I got that book from Star Swirl of course.”
“Ah, so that would and probably might explain some of the side effects with it,” Twilight said. “Yeah, I used this book on Tia once, it was hilarious, but then it eventually wore off and then she used it on me, so I only decided that it was fair if you could get the chance and opportunity to use it on her just as she used it on me,” she said. “Yes, ha-ha, very funny, now then, will you please release me from this spell?” Celestia said. “Only if you promise me that you won’t try to take revenge,” Luna said. “Alright, fine then, very well, I will not try to take revenge on you,” Celestia said. “Excellent, Twilight, why don’t you tell her a secret about yourself since she already knows me so well?”
“Alright, fine then, ever since I got this book, and probably even before, I’ve always had a very small tiny little seed of doubt about you, there, I finally said it, happy now?” she said. “Very much so,” Luna said still smiling. Celestia blinked and then smiled, “Yes sister, but I’m afraid that I’m not done with you yet, I do have plans for you,” she said. “You promised not to take revenge,”
“Yes, I said that I would not try, however, I did not say anything else about any pony else, and that includes my student, Twilight, if you ever did want a chance and opportunity to find out about or past, including all the hilarious moments, then please use that spell on Luna until she finally learns her lesson,” she said smiling. “Well alright, fine then, after all, it’s only fair, right?” she said. “Yes, definitely,” Celestia said. “Uh, Twilight, you don’t have to do this, you don’t have to follow every order of your teacher and mentor.”
“She’s still a princess and is still technically above me and I don’t even dare to wish to disobey her at all, ever,” she said. “But I am a princess too as well and I order you to stop,” Luna said. “Sorry, Celestia’s much older than you.”
And with that said the spell was cast on Luna.
Eventually Luna learned her lesson and then all was really truly well.
Well, all except for the book of course…
Because while it was now in a very safe, secure, and sound location and area it still was a very dangerous thing. And unseen by any pony else it suddenly flipped open to a random various page waiting to be seen and also read.
