Timidthy's magical ability has always been unknown, he has enough power to create a sonic blast that can kill ponies. Can create a green swirling tornado of doom, and is known to have (slightly) unstable magic. But yet he doesn't use it when he's getting tormented. Why? Well you could say Timidthy is too nice and timid to use his magic for violence. Well.....that's not completely true, when Celestia leaves a spell book out and Timidthy trys a magic spell made by Star-Swirl-A-Bearded it soon shows everypony what Timidthy is really made of and why it shouldn't have been released.
