The Dedication Ceremony And A Couple Of Drinks

Rarity was walking to the dedication of a memorial for her friend Twilight. She was all dressed up in a freshly sown dress. All her friends were going to be their and the mayor was to be their to. She hoped that she wouldn't have to give a speech but she was prepared to give one just in case if she had to give a speech.

Once she go there she saw a stage and the Mayor talking to Celestia on it. Media ponies, citizens and Rarity's friends were taking their seats so they could watch the dedication. She went over to a seat by her friends and hugged them. She shook hooves with the mayor.

"Hello Rarity we are really glad that you could make it to the memorial dedication to Twilight Sparkle. I'm sure Twilight would have been so proud of the memorial if she was alive." The mayor said. Rarity nodded and responded to Mayor Mare's comment about her coming.

"Thanks. I'm glad the town has built a memorial for my passed friend. I was strong enough to come here and I'm glad I did." Rarity stated. Mayor Mare nodded and Rarity went to sit down. Mayor Mare went to the stage and approached the podium and then spoke to the audience.

They all listened to the mayor speak about the memorial and the timeline it was built. They had some of the builders come up and talk about it as well. Rarity sat in her seat as she leaned against her hoof. She didn't mean to be bored but she was. She watched patiently though.

Rarity loved the memorial. She knew her friends loved it as well as they all appreciated the town of Ponyville making a memorial for Twilight and dedicating it. The mayor promised to keep the knowledge of Twilight's legacy alive. She studied the memorial closely.

The speech lasted for a few minutes. Rarity didn't mean to be rude but she wanted to get the greetings all over with so that she could go out to eat. She didn't say that as it would be rude to Twilight's parents and friends. Soon it was finished and Rarity went over to Pinkie Pie

"Do you want to dine somewhere?" Rarity asked her. Pinkie Pie nodded and told Rarity that she wasn't really doing anything else that day and that she didn't care where they are at. Rarity took her to a good diner in Canterlot. Rarity was worried hat Pinkie Pie might have liked something less fancy but Pinkie Pie was smiling throughout their walk inside so she knew that she didn't mind where she went with her friend.

"Table for two!" Rarity yelled. Lucky for them their was a table open. They both sat down and a waiter came over and Rarity ordered wine and Pinkie Pie ordered wine as well as they were given menus. Rarity was shocked that Pinkie Pie ordered wine.

"Pinkie Pie I didn't know you drank." Rarity said. Pinkie Pie smiled sadly at Rarity as she prepared to tell Rarity why she drank. She did get a little angry at Rarity questioning her though so she spoke her mind.

"I'm old enough plus I've had alcohol at some of my parties after I turned the legal adult age. Plus I like to drink away my sadness due to my friend passing away. Is that okay?" Pinkie Pie asked her voice breaking because of Twilight. Rarity started to tear up as well. She didn't mean to upset Pinkie Pie.

"I'm sorry Pinkie Pie. I understand how you feel." Rarity said. Pinkie Pie smiled as they waited. Soon their drinks arrived and they ordered their dinners. Pinkie Pie and Rarity started to take sips of their drinks. Soon they ordered figured out what they wanted and ordered. Pinkie Pie ordered more wine as she began eating.

The waitress poured more for her and left. Rarity and Pinkie ate while they talked about eachother's business's and what they were going to do that week. Rarity ordered more wine and Pinkie Pie ordered more as well.

They both continued to drink and dine. Rarity was shocked of the fact that Pinkie Pie already has had a couple glasses of wine. Rarity only had four and was now just enjoying the rest of her meal. They both talked about their families as well. Soon Pinkie Pie was hammered while Rarity's head felt fuzzy but Rarity still had perfect coordination to walk home.

They both paid the price of their meals and drinks and Rarity helped Pinkie Pie out as she wasn't to drunk. They both got to Sugarcube Corner and Rarity helped her to the door and stopped.

"Do you think you can make it inside on your own?" Rarity asked as she was worried her friend might be to drunk to get to her room. Pinkie Pie shook her head no.

"Nah I'll....ill be fine...I can hold the railing...." Pinkie Pie slurred. Rarity nodded. They both hugged and said bye to eachother. Pinkie Pie then turned around and stumbled into her place and they both spoke.

"See you tomorrow Pinkie Pie." Rarity said. Pinkie Pie nodded and waved goodbye to her friend Rarity while she replied in a drunken manner.

"Good....bye...." Pinkie Pie spoke. Pinkie Pie closed her door and Rarity walked to her place as she was glad that she got Twilight off her mind for a few hours. She went into her house and closed her door and got into her bed. She knew that it was really late so she went to sleep as well preparing to have dreams of the memorial. She loved the memorial but felt sad about Twilight.
