On a cold winter night in the darkest and shadiest parts of Canterlot, there resides a hidden club called The Black Claw. The Black Claw is a major dark club so popular that it has a club in every major city in Equestria. Where the wicked rich and low life's spend their time to get drunk or place bets on their favorite fighters to see who wins there illegal underground fighting tournament. Everyone in the club was cheering and shouting for the two fighters in the cage.
"Welcome everyone for the 10th Annual Black Fighting tournament Finals." Said the Black Claw Announcer, "Now this a match that most of you have been wait for we have Ripper. The red Unicorn stallion with the slicing problem that most fighters would not want fight with his razor sharp saws that he carries with him to every match. Now that he is facing someone that he wants to beat since fighter he is fighting our star and champion Trixie Lulamoon! Trixie has been our Champion for four years now and is aiming for fifth. She is the blue mare with the will, strength and many forms of fighting/magic she knows she has defeated Ripper several times and many other opponents. Also remember everyone the rules for are underground fighting tournament that you are allowed to uses any weapons, magic, technique, and any ability to either kill or knockout your opponent, but you can not kill your opponent if they give up. Also you can't have help from anyone outside the match, now let match begin." He said with the wave of his hoof to give the signal the match to start.
"I'm going to get you this time you brat," said Ripper as he came at Trixie levitating his saw blades at her. Trixie just dodge his attacks with little trouble and she used a flash boom to blind him and came up close to attack him attack with a fire magic covered hoof. Ripper smiled she fell for his trap and got hit by one of his saws, but it turn out to be illusion.
"You're too predictable Ripper," said Trixie in a halfhearted way as she hit him with a few well placed lighting covered hoofs. Ripper went down hard to the ground. “You may be a dangerous and a good fighter Ripper, but your saws well only take you so far against a skilled opponent." Said Trixie as she walked to the center of the stage and was given her bits and trophy with a bored face by the Announcer.
“ Can you believe it folks? Are Magic Fighter has done it again. Did you see that folks? Trixie distracted Ripper by using one of her infamous moves, The Solid Illusion Doppelganger. An illusion that used a one of her signature moves, The Burning Hoof Fist. For those who don’t know. Trixie is the only unicorn known that can do, The Solid Illusion Doppelganger. The Solid Illusion Doppelganger is a move that makes a illusion of yourself so real that it can be touched. Which can be used to either take a few hits for you, or deals some damage for you till hit. The illusion can be controlled to use magic for one spell, then disappears. It is unknown how many she can make, because she usually use one in a fight. Then She hit him with several well placed Lighting Hoof Fist, and then he went down. Three cheers for are 5th time Champion! "Our fifth time Champion everyone, The Magic Fighter: Trixie Lulamoon!!!" Said the Announcer, as mostly everyone was cheering for Trixie and some booing at her.
At this moment, at the office of the owner of The Black Claw was Gray Bird a gray pegasus who was talking to a tall black hood figure. "So do we have a deal?" Asked Gray Bird as he turned from her walk to his desk.
"Yes we will pay you the bits if you cover up the disappearance of your champion." Said The hood figure as they stared through a window to see the match,
"Good so what was your name miss?" asked Gray bird. When he turned to face her. She was gone.
The Meeting of an Old Friend
In the dead of the night as Trixie was leaving Canterlot as she walking on two hoofs as she has grown use to for the last two years. She thought it was easier this way. For when she need to fight to have lower legs down on the ground while her upper legs were up in front. She pick up this fighting style after fighting a griffon fighter named Striker who had great amount of skill with her fists.
When she first became underground fighter in the 4th Annual Underground Fighting Tournament in a hidden club in a cave near Griffonstone a few years ago. She faced Striker in the quarter-finals who she was barely able to beat with her will the only thing keep her going at the end. Her and Striker got along fine, Striker even taught Trixie the basics with using her front legs as fists. Striker might have been her first friend if Striker did meet her unfortunate end in the beginning of the 5th Tournament.
She has developed this way of fighting to make her a better fighter then she was before and she has even improved it. As she was walking she thought, 'what her life would be like if Strike was still alive. She liked Striker because she treated her with respect and equal as for form of fighting and magic, which at the time she was given barely any at the time.
She hated it when people called her weak especially her magic. She might not have been as powerful as she said she was. That doesn't mean everyone can call her weak, since Twilight Sparkle was able to beat in ursa minor and she couldn't. At least she tried to do something unlike everyone else, though this day she still does not know why. Still how do they expect her to be able go toe to toe against Twilight in the first place. Twilight had so much going for her: She was taught by goddess/princess, she was the element of magic, she was destined to become a goddess/princess and She had Family and friends by her side the whole time. All Trixie as herself had was her: Wagon, her pride, her will, some education though mostly self taught, and lastly herself.
She believed she did well for someone that doesn't have a family and friends, until she meet Starlight. The scars on her body ached when she thought about Starlight. Especially the scar on right eye and the one on her chest where her heart is. She has a quick flashback of her fighting a possessed Starlight at the Crystal Empire. Trixie tried to be happy with being the third most powerful unicorn in a Equestria, and she knows she is because she has been all over Equestria. The only unicorns stronger than her are Starlight and Shining Armor. Twilight doesn't count since she is a Alicorn now. Though she hated be thought weak by most of Equestria she accepted it just fine, but she drew the line. When Twilight said that a unicorn named Sunset Shimmer might be stronger than her.
When Trixie was third strongest unicorn in Equestria, when she was speaking with Twilight and Starlight. How could a unicorn that has been a different dimension that did not have magic for most of her time there, which was ten to twelve years could be stronger than her. Sure Sunset may have also been taught by Princess Celestia, but she has not used magic for long period. Trixie doubt's that Sunset could take her in a fight. Clam down,' Trixie thought as she was getting mad about those thought's. Trixie was cut from her thoughts when she sensed someone near her wagon as she dropped her bag.
" Who's there show yourself," said Trixie as she took a fighting stance.
"Clam down Trixie it's just me," said Starlight coming from behind the wagon in a worried and annoyed tone.
"Starlight? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off saving Equestria with your friends like Twilight, or Sunset with your guys new magic abilities." Said Trixie as she picked up her bag.
" Trixie you know me, Sunset, and the others were chosen by The New Element's of Harmony. We didn't have a choice it was density that we were chosen, but that doesn't mean you are no longer my friend. So would you please stop this unhealthy way of living, with you fighting in theses underground fighting clubs. Which I remind you could die at any moment." Said Starlight as she watched Trixie walk by her to the door of her wagon.
"Starlight, I told you that was only one of the reasons why I'm fighting again. You and your "friend's" have great densities. What is my density, hmm Starlight? To be a performer that will not be remembered by anyone? To be one of the sidekicks of The Elements of Harmony? No starlight if that is the case." Said Trixie as she turned to face Starlight. "Then I refuse to let that be my density! I will not be in the shadow of others. I don't believe in density Starlight, I believe that we make the path that we take ourselves. Not some outside force that will determine who we will be. We are who, who we chose to be Starlight. Density has nothing to do with!" Said Trixie in anger as she and Starlight meet eye to eye with each other.
"Then what are you doing Trixie? How is fighting going to help you live the life you want!? Why have you been avoiding me? Shouted Starlight with tears in eyes as she was starting to get frustrated with Trixie's attitude. Trixie's scars were aching again when Starlight mention the that she was avoiding her.
"You know why I'm fighting. As I told you two years ago when I started fighting again in the Eighth Annual Tournament when you started avoiding me first. That I am fighting to gain bits and its training for me as a fighter for becoming a monster hunter. I will travel all around the world fighting monsters and saving pony's, with my own strength and magical power. Not with any special gifts or abilities I received from density or the princess. Unlike you, Twilight and the, others like Tartarus they done anything for me." Said Trixie as she pointed her right hoof at Starlight's element on neck Starlight.
"First thing you should know Trixie me and others didn't ask for this we. We never wanted this responsibility, and how your family heirloom gem that unlocked your full potential. As for the princess doing something for you, how about them reviving you when you were dead for 10 mins!" Said Starlight angrily as she got angry with Trixie words, but was ashamed and regretted what she said. When She realized what she just said was hurtful and the angered expression on Trixie's face.
" Starlight there are only three things in the world that I care about more than anything, and those are myself, my family gem and you at top! On the day you got possessed almost a little over three years ago. I almost lost all three of them. I was ready to die if meant saving you! I was even willing to accept having my family gem destroyed and the pieces sent across Equestria, but what I couldn't accept! I can't accept, that I risked everything to save you! I even died trying! I hate myself that I was not the one to save you. Instead it was Twilight, Sunset and the others that saved you! Shouted Trixie as she was having some trouble breathing as her magical energy increased.
"I risked everything and failed. While they were doing their duty and awaken the New Elements of Harmony. Then boom you are free. All my effort was for nothing, the other's were nice and thanked me for buying time for them to waken the New Elements of Harmony. What good is my full potential if my body can't handle since coming back to life? I know they are your friends as well, but as your best friend at the time. It hurts the most knowing that I couldn't save you myself. When I was brought back I saw you and the others smiling to each other with your new elements. I realized I was not suppose to be there." Said Trixie sadly as she turned away from Starlight.
"Trixie you are still my best friend," said Starlight as she was trying to get Trixie looked her way. " I'm sorry Trixie for what happened that day, I know I have apologized before several times, and I am sorry how badly I hurt you. What do I have to make it up to you, so you can finally forgive me and what do I do fix are friendship?" Said Starlight as she cried, as she stood up on her back legs and leaned on Trixie's back. Trixie turned and hugged Starlight in a tight embraced.
"There is nothing for you to apologize for Starlight and there is nothing for you to be forgiven about either. It is myself That I can't forgive, I am so ashamed of myself that I could save the one being that I care about more than anything. I disappointed in myself because I was not good enough to help you, when you need me most. That I couldn't help you at all, but just by time for the other's." Said Trixie as she hugged Starlight harder. "I am a failure of a friend," said Trixie as she was trying to hold back the tears. Starlight then smacked Trixie across the face with right hoof.
"Don't you ever say that about yourself Trixie! Said Starlight, as Trixie was stunned by being hit. " Now listen here Trixie you are the bestest friend I could ever have. You did so much for me there no greater sign of friendship. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, even the princess themselves would have trouble with me being possessed by Sombra. With his power and mine combine It would be almost impossible for anyone, so you really shouldn't feel bad." Said Starlight as she watched Trixie's confused expression.
" They never told you who possessed me did they?" Asked Starlight as she and Trixie hugged once again.
"No, no they never told me. Who was he?" Asked Trixie as she looked at Starlight eye's.
"He was a unicorn king who ruled over the Crystal Empire. Whose magical power rivaled the princess, and Star Swirl The Bearded. So, you have nothing to feel bad about. Now that we are done avoiding each other. Will you able to forgive yourself now?" Said Starlight as she waited for Trixie's response.
"No, I need to do something great. So I can feel like, I can be by your side with no doubt." Said Trixie as she moved away from Starlight to put up her stuff. "So can you please wait for me, until then?" Asked Trixie as she hooked herself up to her wagon, with a hopeful smile on her face.
"Sure Trixie, I will wait for you." Said Starlight with a smile as she walked up to Trixie. "But, can we talk a little more before you go?" Asked Starlight as she and Trixie start waking.
"Sure Starlight, we can catch up until we reach Ponyville in few a hours." Said Trixie with a smile as she walked along with Starlight. They talked for hours sharing stories about what happened for the past three years.
They parted ways in Ponyville as they both felt happiness they felt in while. A figure watching Trixie from a distance smiled as Trixie left Ponyville. "Hoped you have enjoyed your last night with your best friend, Trixie. Because you're going to have to fight for your life tomorrow ." Said the figure as she disappeared.
