Rampage: Equestria's Punishment
The Infiltration
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Come on, let's move", I led Swift through the town during the night as quietly as we could. Long Shot'd said that she would have her stealth guys meet up with us, and that we would expect a cart ride the rest of the way towards the base. Which is great, I wouldn't want to risk taking a train anywhere near that place. It'd draw too much attention to us and would risk the whole plan. And of course, we don't want that right? "Her guys should be just over by the exit sign at the end of town".
Swift nodded, "sure, let's do it, I've been waiting for a chance to actually fight".
I looked back at him with a brow raised up, "look, we're not going to be fighting head-on, it's going to be stealthy and in the shadows, if it goes to shit, there aren't enough of us to fight the entire base, so remember Swift, keep it quiet". He nodded and kept up the pace. We trekked around the silent night until we came across about 3 stallions and 1 mare. All dressed in black tactical gear by the forest signaling us to come to them. Realizing that they were the team that we've been looking for, I pointed at the team for Swfit to see and went over to the team.
"So, you the men Long Shot sent out"?
The stallion in front of everyone spoke up, "yeah, she said to bring you to the base with us, and that you are in command for this op". Perfect, see, I told you, if you can prove your worth to people you want to lead, then lead you will. Simple as that.
"Alright, let's head out. You got the cart?", I asked. He nodded and motioned for us to follow him, we continued on the walk until we came across a cart with two buff stallions in front of it. "You sure they can take us that far to the base"?
"Well, we plan on taking shifts, they will be pulling us for about a couple hours and two of us will take their place, and we will take that cycle 'till we get somewhat close to our objective", he replied in an orderly manner. Man, Shotty sure knows how to discipline people into a stable militia. Yes, I'm going to call her Shotty.
I sighed, "sure, if that's how we're doing it, then be my guest buddy". He hopped into the front seat and we all followed after.
We all sat quietly and awkwardly in our seats, obviously because we've never met each other until now. No shit. But, soon boredom got the better of me and I decided to speak up. "What're all your names, starting with you Mr. Leader".
He cleared his throat, I noticed he had dark brown fur and yellow mane and tail might be siblings with Long Shot, "Razor Blades". Sounds like he was good with knives.
The mare spoke up next she had dark blue fur and light blue mane and tail, "Sapphire Dare". Her physique made it look like she was a runner.
The next stallion haa black mane, tail, and dark grey fur went next, "Onyx Armor". Must be the muscle.
The last stallion with cobalt fur, darker cobalt mane and tail went last, "Cobalt". Figures, he's the fucking color. Must be the witty and cunning individual.
I nodded satisfied with the names I've recieved, "those are all great names and they seem to match you all perfectly". A whispering chorus of thanks were said. "I'm Bill as you may have heard, and this is Swift".
Sapphire nodded, "yeah, we were told who's who, and you guys fit the description she gave us".
I leaned back now, yawning a bit and shifting in my seat, "how long will the journey be exactly, I'm thinking about resting and getting some energy for the task at hand". Onyx said that it'd might be about a day or two, depending on how many stops we take. "No shit? Alright, I'm going to rest up for a bit then". I closed my eyes for sleeps' loving embrace.
Eight Hours Later......
"Wake up Bill", I opened my eyes to see Swift nugding me to try and wake me up. And the worst part, it worked.
"What is it man"? I was up now and stretching around, now noticing that nobody else was in the cart but us. "And where is everyone"?
"Everybody decided to take a quick food break before we head back out, come on, let's eat", he hopped out to join the rest of our little crew. Not wanting to miss out on eating something I hopped out too and asked what we were having.
"Bits of asparagus, a turkey we shot, and a couple cans of beans to go around", Cobalt replied handing me a small paper plate with a bit of everything. That's right Pegasus do eat a bit of meat and there were two of them, Cobalt, and Sapphire, Onyx and Razor were the only ones who didn't eat meat as they were earth ponies, and their diets didn't consist of any meat whatsoever. So they just settled for asparagus and beans. "Once we're done, we need to get back on track, we've actually made it pretty far and the base is just five hours away if we keep going via cart".
"We'll stop at about a mile or two away so we won't be seen", I added.
"Yeah, we'll stop there and make the rest of the journey in foot, and you guys", he pointed at the two earth ponies I saw in front do the cart, must be their shift again. "You'll be on standby to get us the fuck out of there in case it all goes to shit". They nodded silently, not very talkative as you can tell.
"Then we're off, let's go", Razor hopped in and we all followed. "Now would be a good time to start loading up our weapons so we're all prepped up as soon as we get there". I nodded agreeing whole-heartedly. I took my M9 out and checked to see if a round was loaded, it was, I checked the mag, also loaded.
"Can I get my holster and vest"? I looked around waiting for a response. Sapphire handed me the vest and holster I brought with me and I shifted a bit to get the holster on and leaned forward to get the vest on. I then holstered the pistol. I checked my vest pockets, they were all filled with M4A1 type magazines. "I'm getting an M4"? She nodded, handing me an M4 rifle, it was equipped with holographic sights, a foregrip, a suppressor, and laser sights on the side of the muzzle. "Niiiiicccee", I nodded in approval. "This'll work just fine". My pistol mags were also in the vest, as well as a suppressor for a sidearm which I snapped on to the muzzle, deciding I had all I needed I laid back in my seat and pulled out my phone. I plan on listen to music if we are going to stuck in this thing for a few hours.
"What's that", Onyx looked on with a brow raised. I explained that it's a communication device we had back home, but since I'm not home, the communication part is no use, but I still could do certain things like listening to music and such. "And that's what you plan on doing"?
"well yeah, we're going to be in here for awhile", I knew he got it when he didn't ask anymore questions.
5 hours or so later.......
I looked out the window to the drivers' seat, "Stop the cart, we'll walk the rest of the way". Cobalt nodded and brought the cart to a sharp halt. I hopped out, Razor and Onyx took the straps for carrying the cart off of them and went into the cart to get their gear. "Now' says good as time as ever to load your weapons and follow me. Now look, we're only a mile or so off, everybody on point and let's move". I loaded the magazine into my rifle and headed off behind Swift, who was carrying the map.
The brush and trees weren't exactly welcoming as we Trekker through the fucking things, occasionally using a machete to cut through the damn things. "Tread carefully and thoughtfully, the mud here is deep and strong enough to get your shoes", I didn't want to argue with Onyx, so I took his word for it. Damn, one of the only times where I was wrong. The mud nearly took my foot off.
"Everybody shut up..... ", Razor called out with a loud whisper. We halted in our tracks, "you hear that"? We listened carefully, not making a sound. There it was, voices and light vehicle sounds. "We're really close now, not a sound from anyone". We slowly marched through the forest and came to a fence. I looked through a bush and didn't see anyone in our immediate vicinity and signaled Sapphire to cut through. She pulled out a pair of bolt cutters and went to work as we covered her to make sure she wasn't spotted.
A whole moment passed and we heard one final cut, "we're through". She went through with an MP5 equipped with a suppressor raised all around her. "Clear". We followed her and one by one we made it through the fence. "Should we cover it up?" I looked back at her as she walked up to us.
"No, it's a waste of time and we won't be here long enough anyway". She nodded and took point.
"We need to find a way into a building", she pointed toward a hangar, probably for a few experimental flying contraptions, I fucking knew it, they're just draining resources with little care, and not even telling the ponies that they're doing this. The building wasn't that far, so I got behind a pile of sandbags between us and the hangar.
"On the count of three", I started. "We're going to run as fast as we can to that hangar and kill anyone in there". Everyone didn't argue and I peeked over. "Wait for it". A guard just walked by. "Wait for it". No-one was around to be seen. "Run", I shouted with a loud whisper. I hopped over and fully sprinted across the space. I hit the wall of the hangar and pointed my rifle all around me, one guard turned around when I hit the wall. I pulled the rigger and thanks to the suppressed rifle, no-one knew that one of their guard was down. I dragged him to the wall of the hangar and laid him down. The rest of my team caught up and leaned on the wall.
"Are you fucking crazy", Cobalt shouted as loud as his whispering could shout. "You almost blew our cover". I just shrugged it off.
"Look we're just going to get spotted sitting in one place, we need to be on the move". I peeked my left eye by the wall and saw about seven guards around the whole hangar. Four were by this World War One era looking plane, and three were by this staircase that led to an upstairs room, chatting away about God only knows what. "Look there are about seven guys, four by a plane-looking vehicle, three by a staircase". They nodded. "I'll get two of the guys by the plane, Swift, you'll take out any stragglers. Cobalt, Sapphire, get the guys by the staircase, Onyx, Razor, get anyone that we don't hit". They seemed ok with thatplan as they readied their weapons, i brought my hand up with three fingers raised, two wee still up, then one. "Go!"
We went around the wall and silenced shots went out and in a few seconds, there were seven bodies all round the area. I went back out quietly and brought the corpse I made inside and we hid the bodies behind some crates. "We need to find an office of some kind", Razor said as he looked around as he walked up the stairs. "There". We followed him and he brought us to a door, he turned it quietly, it didn't turn, locked.
"Here", Sapphire brought out a hairpin and picked the lock, it clicked and I grinned. "There, we'll breach now".
I brought my foot up and lightly kicked the door open, making minimal noise. I pointed my gun around me and it was empty, it was locked from the outside. I looked around me and found some documents titled, 'armory inventory listings'. I chucked lightly with myself and opened it up, they had multiple things that wouldn't be too hard for them to catch to human technology in a few decades or so. Thy has a tank prototype being tested at the desert by Las Pegasus, plane testing here, and anti-tank weaponry testing here, came at the desert. I guess they don't expect to be the only ones with this weaponry. The anti-tank weapons consisted of rocket launchers, strong grenades, and some artillery guns. We can't carry artillery guns, but grenades and rocket launchers we can carry easily. I signaled to my team behind me that we can leave. I shut the door behind me and told them all about what I found.
"Holy shit", Onyx started, "where can we get some of this gear"? I pointed out that it would be at the armory and it's the next hanger next to us, but more guarded lost likely. "Who gives a fuck, let's go!" He was certainly happy. We headed downstairs guns raised and went behind cover as we could see guards coming in. He heard them mention blood, must be the blood the guy I killed leaked. It didn't ,after. They didn't know it was us, and they didn't know where. But they were looking around as they didn't see any of their own guarding this place.
"Where the fuck are they?", one voice called out.
The other one tried to calm him down a bit, "relax, they're probably down at the barracks taking a break and getting drunk".
But the first voice wasn't happy, "I don't give a flying fuck. Celestia wants us to get some new weaponry ready before the rioters go from rioters to a rebellion. And if it isn't ready when that happens, it'll be our heads. Those COCKSUCKERS"! Damn this guy has even worse anger management than I do. "Let's go find those industrial cock inhalers". The other one must've followed because their footsteps we're getting farther and farther away by the second. They were gone.
"Let's go", I whispered. I led everyone by the exit that was near the next hangar. "Alright, now listen, the Hagar doesn't actually just have guns sitting everywhere, but they do have a door that leads to the actual armory. But my guess is that the door will be heavily armored, so we'll have to use a thermite charge, it'll be loud, so we'll have to be quick and get the goods and make for run for the whole in the fence that we came through. Got it?" Everyone nodded.
"We'll be right behind you", Cobalt assured with a look of determination. "Let's go". I nodded and we quickly ran around and unloaded our clips and about 18 guards were on the floor making a huge mess. I went for the backpack that Onyx carried and looked around for a thermite charge, I kept fiddling around until I felt it hands, picked it up and placed it on the door by the lock.
"Back up this'll be loud and you don't want to be the explosion radius", I warned. Everybody backed up and I pulled on the safety pin and the thing blinked red, ready to detonate. I backed up and handed the detonator to Swift. "Click the switch". He smiled a bit and did so. The charge made a hissing sound cutting through all the locks and bolts the thing was placed on, and a few seconds later, the charge blew and the door was bent on the inside and open. I took at the lock area of the doorway and hissed at the sight of it. That must've been a couple inches of steel it just had cut through. "Everyone in now", I ordered.
Everyone piled in and I could tell with an explosion this loud, everyone in this base will be scrambling to respond. "Look for huge grenades and rocket launchers, the rocket launchers look like huge guns that can take a rocket in them". I looked back and they were quickly, like lightning shoving the things into the bags, I looked back out and saw that they already had the hangar surrounded. "FUCK, they're already here, GODDAMIT"! I shouted at the top of my lungs seeing as we were probably fucked. But then I remembered seeing a folder full of blueprints back in that office. There were vents in this armory for air conditioning or heating. I went back into the room and ordered everyone to stay away for the doorway and to keep their guns trained in it. I found a vent by the floor built into the wall and sighed a sigh of relief. "Everyone in now!"
I hopped in with the rest if my team following close-by. "You know where this leads?" Swift asked. I thought back to the quick glance I took of the map in the office.
"Yeah, it's through here", I took a right and sighed probably the most intense one I my life as I saw daylight. "We made it", I announced. "Back up". I leaned back and kicked the vent door leading outside down and crawled out. "Follow me". Everybody came out in a filing order and we caught our breaths, being very close to death or worse tends to do that, especially if you've encountered it multiple times.
"Swift", Sapphire asked. Swift turned to her with a questioning look. But with a bit of nervousness in his gaze, I took of that as he answered.
"Yeah?", he asked. Sapphire asked in between breaths.
"Can you *huff, find out where *huff, we are?" She leaned on him for support and he chuckled nervously.
"Sure", he took out his map. "We are here by the hangar". He pointed to the hangar building o the map. "So the cart is two miles to the southwest in that direction". He pointed out behind me.
I turned and held my rifle up, "let's get a move on. We need to get to Canterlot with the gear we got and fight, maybe for the last time, maybe not, but one thing I know for sure, is that this battle will determine the future of Equestria". Everyone stood silent, pondering what I said to a deep level probably. "No matter who wins, this nation will be forever changed, maybe even the whole world, on their perspective of a nations' own citizens and just what they're capable of". I marched on with the team behind me. It took a few hours, we had to keep checking our sectors and even had to take down a while patrol, but we made it back to the cart all ready to run their asses off. Must've heard our commotion back at the base.
"Let's go!", one of the stallions shouted. We rushed into the cart as fast as we could. And trained our rifles out the door. "GO!", Razor shouted frantically at the carrying stallions. They took off and ran as fast as they could to where the best place to ditch the cart would be. A mile away from, where we had previously parked the cart. We hopped out, but when I got out I had two gas canisters in my hands and handed one to Onyx. He nodded understanding that we had to get rid of any and all evidence we weren't going to carry be destroyed.
"There", I decided after drenching the cart that it was ready. "Everyone got what they need from there". They all said that they had, so I pulled out a match and a cigarette and struck the match. I lit the cigarette and tossed the match into the cart and the flames swallowed the cart whole. I took a long and steady drag and blew out smoke gently. "Let's head for Canterlot to regroup with the rest of Long Shot's men". I turned to lead my team over to the soon-to-be city of smoke. But as we walked along the road, I couldn't help but wonder, can I beat someone who is magically stronger than me. But I shrugged it off and cursed at myself for having doubts.
The end is soooo close I can smell it, literally, and it smells like smoke.
