Prologue
Canterlot High School
Time - Close To Midnight
Flash stared at where his hand went through the portal at the base of Canterlot High's statue.
He pulled his hand back out.
He looked at Twilight and said "So, it's real. This other world. And you're really a pony."
Twilight looked him and nodded. "Now you know why it would never work out between us. I must go back home before the portal closes, which will be soon now, and it won't open for another thirty moons. Which is about two and a half years. And it only stays open for three days."
Flash got a determined look on his face and said "Screw that, I'm going with you."
Twilight just stared at him. "But... didn't you hear what I said?! If you go with me you won't be able to come back for two and a half years! What about your life here? What about your school? And what about your family too? ... What about your cool car?"
Flash just looked at her. "Twilight, my life here sucks. My financial situation is bad and I was going to have to drop out of school soon anyway due to not being able to afford it. And I'm an orphan and don't have a family here. I live in a rundown orphanage. And that wasn't my car, it was my friend's that I borrowed for the night."
"If you step through there you'll turn into a pony too." said Twilight.
"I don't care." said Flash. "Just so long as I am with you. I love you."
He then moved toward her and kissed her. The kiss lasted awhile, and when he finally pulled away both were breathless and panting. Both had very flushed faces.
Twilight slumped and her knees went weak, but he moved quickly and supported her.
"All right." she said. "If you're really sure about this. Then you can come with me now."
He smiled at her and kissed her again.
She returned the kiss with much passion, desire, and need.
A sound caused them to break the kiss and when they looked around they saw the other girls cheering them.
Pinkie had a big grin on her face as she looked at them and said "Good luck you two lovebirds!"
"Thanks." Twilight said.
As they were about to turn and walk through the portal Applejack called out, "Are you sure you wanna do this Flash?"
Flash looked at her and said "AJ, I turn eighteen in three days. The orphanage will stop paying for my schooling and I will be kicked out. Going with the one I love to her world is better than staying here and living in an abandoned warehouse in a dark ally. Sheesh. I mean, you saw what living like that did to Sunset."
"I can sure understand that." said Applejack.
The other girls nodded their agreement on that.
Waving their final goodbyes the two turned and went through the portal.
Crystal Empire Mirror Room
Time - Unknown
Twilight's friends were pacing back and forth nervously waiting for her return. Well four of them were. Rainbow Dash was hovering nervously waiting for Twilight's return.
Suddenly the mirror flared and out came Twilight. Trying to walk on her rear legs. Rainbow thought she looked ridiculous like that.
Twilight settled down onto all fours.
The mirror flared again and out came Spike.
The others were glad to see him.
Then the mirror flared again and out came...
Twilight wondered what all her friends were staring at. And why they had their jaws dropped. And why they looked so confused now.
She looked behind her, and then stared too.
Flash looked at himself, at the others, and at Twilight... then asked "Twilight, why am I still human?"
