It's been 30 years in Equestria's future since Chrysalis's defeat in the hands of Starlight Glimmer. 30 years since a technology boom that was supposed to benefit pony kind. 30 years since a mysterious virus caused still-in-the-womb unicorns to become alicorns. And certainly 30 years since the two sisters vanished without any trace or evidence, and since then the sun and moon move themselves across the sky.
