The train ride through the mountains seemed like it was dragging on forever. The brisk morning air russled the feathers on my wings, as I rest my head against the base of the open window, watching the sky be lit up with those early morning colors. I glanced around the cab of the car and noticed every other mare and stallion still asleep. I mean, my destination was still a hour away and I couldn't help be the least bit anxious about this new town. I've gone from Manehatten to Fillydelphia, Fillydelphia to Baltimare, and finally Baltimare to my final stop, the town of Ponyville. It's a town that I have heard of but never been too. From what I've heard though, it has quite the reputation, I mean once being home to the princess of friendship and all. Sadly, they took up long term work in canterlot and haven't been back in years. Anywho, everything is already set. I sent a letter to a real estate pony a month ago and bought a house at the edge of town, it's even furnished and everything! However, I wish I could be a little more joyous about this move, even if I had no choice. Then it happened, everything started coming back. The reality that I was in was a grave one and... "No." I thought to myself. I wasn't going to remind myself. I am done with my old life. I pushed the awful thoughts to the back of my mind and leaned back in the red velvet seat. Even though I try to Ignore the facts, I can never forget what who use to be.
"Alright mares and stallions, this is station number 5, Ponyville. Our next stop is Appleloosa. That is all."
The conductors voice boomed through the railway car, as people gathered their belongings and got off. As I stood up, stretched, and grabbed my saddle bag, I couldn't help but notice the filly staring at me from across the car. I looked at her and then watched as she followed her mother off the car. Ive gotten used to the staring by now. I'm a pretty unwieldy sight to behold. I'm really just a blue pegasus stallion, however it's not often you see a pony with more than one scar, let alone about 20-30 of them. One even stretched over my right eye. And if that wasn't enough, how often do you see an adult stallion, with no cutie mark. I walked off the car and onto the platform and pulled the map out of my saddlebag. My house was on the other side of town in a nicer neighborhood it looked like. So, eager to see my new home, I put the map back in my bag, and made my off the playform, and down the main road.
Upon arrival, I was pretty excited. The pictures I had received didn't do justice. The home was a larger 2 story home with what looked like a smaller loft space that overhung the right side. There were flourishing planters under a few of the windows and a great big oak tree that stood out front. It all looked so, inviting, and I loved it. I took my key they had mailed me out of my bag and put it in the keyhole. With a twist, the door unlocked and the bright pink front door opened up. Inside was a smaller living area with a stone fireplace against the far wall and a staircase off to the side. Off to the side a smaller kitchen with an attached dining area. Upstairs was a hallway that led to a bedroom , a bathroom, what looked like a smaller living area, with a ladder to the loft which I soon found out was actually the reading room. I walked into the bedroom and flopped onto the bed. This was most joy I had felt in a long time. I had finally had for the first time in my life, a place I could truly call home.
I set my saddlebags on the nightstand and began to pull things out, setting the map on the nightstand for me to read later. I didn't really have many belongings. The left side was mainly full of bits, and a Lunar Moon candy bar. However, unpacking the right side, that was a different story. I unbuttoned the strap on the bag and opened it to reveal an assortment of blades of various shapes and sizes. I didn't want to keep them, but It felt uncomfortable to be without them. I pulled out a longer blade that was the same color of my feathers. This was a special blade made to be worn in a Pegasus wings disguised in with the feathers. I stood there looking at it, and after a long mental debate with myself, I mounted it to my right wing. I folded my wing back up and it Blended with my feathers perfectly. I then closed the bags back up and slid them under the bed. As I looked around I remembered that I hadn't slept in the last 14 hours, and at that thought, a yawn escaped my mouth. I decided that I should probably just rest and relax until tomorrow. I could go out and explore tomorrow, see what this town has to offer. I then climbed into bed, pulling the covers over my body, laying my head on a pillow, and closing my eyes, letting my mind drift away as a passed out.
