Birth of the sun, moon and shadow
A long, long time ago, before Canterlot become kingdom of their own, there was mare name Doba. She had fur white like a clouds in sunny day, and mane as black as night. She was unicorn with both star and sun as her cutie mark. She was a mother of the future nation who gave birth to two fillies that become first alicorns, in times when alicorn was only a legend.
The older one was cheerful and bright like sunshine, so she called her Celestia. She got white fur and pink mane. Doba was very proud of her first daughter.
Few years later, her second daughter saw a light of day, or so to speak, a light of night as she was born at midnight under full moon. Her fur was blue and dark as night sky, and her eyes shone as bright as stars. Her name became Luna for memory of that event.
Both sisters loved each other very much, as they grow up always having one dream, make all ponies happy in harmony.
Doba was wife of ruler of the pony tribe whichhad its place near Crystal Empire.
At first, Crystal Empire was peaceful place, where crystal ponies have been living for ages with love and caring for other ponies. But something horrible happened… one of them become corrupt, one of them choose evil… for worst that was their own prince, Sombra.
Chapter 1
When Celestia got her cutie mark everypony came to calibrat that occasion with filly’s parents.
Celestia was happy that her mark was sun as she loves play in a day. She had a lot of friends who play with her. She was child of the sun, and her energy make everypony wake up.
She in fact get her cutie mark when she saw the rising sun for the first time. That beautiful image make her heart beat faster as she was in love. Nothing could compare with the birth of the day and sun.
But that was not only reason why that become most memorable day of her life. From a chamber came out her father and said:
“You have sister now, she was born in the middle of the night”
Little Celestia held her newborn sister in her arms, and look at her.
“I will always make you shine, my dear” - she said. And then her blank flank start to shine. Sun appear on white fur and make show her special talent.
As Luna grow older she became fascinated with darkness. She stay long after the daytime, just to see stars on sky. Luna also was proud of her mark, that appear showing how special it was for her. But her new symbol make her a bit sad, as she realize how her sister will never really enjoy the starlight as she does.
Luna try show her sister stars and moon, a lot of times, but Celestia never could stay up, as she became sleepy early and even grumpy with lack of sleep at night.
When Celestia become young adult, her sister still was only teenager. Celestia was most pretty, lively and smart pony in the tribe. Every stallion try to get her hooves, but she rejects it as she was not sure if she is ready.
At this time, king of Crystal Empire want’s his son to get a bride so she could become queen in a future and give birth of next generation in royal line.
Sombra was still a young prince, who obtain powers of the shadow. He have no intrest in love, however he know that his parents wants him to get married before he get a crown. The one thing he don’t understand was why they want it. As his soul was dark that concept of love was far from him. He secretly enjoy being cruel to others, but he behave himself so his parents never notice. He know that they would banish him for use of dark magic he discover.
That new power drives him crazy and gives him pleasure, yet enslaved his mind, making him more and more like a monster.
He was getting angry as his parents send for him to the throne room to suggest him some marriage offerts. Sombra did not take those offerts lightly, as he thought of all those pretty mares, were not beautiful enough for him, especially since they were not royals like him, but common crystal ponies.
Sombra’s mother try to explain to him that all those girls are good, honest and loyal ponies and they would be terrific choices for smart and loving wife, but her son just run from her growling.
He escape the palace to be alone, and goes to the one of those streets fames for how bad their fame was.
Then the news of most beautiful pony in the land came to his ears. He was in brothel with some courtisane, on his laps, when he overheard two stallions drinking and gossiping about small tribe with two unmarried princesses.
One stallion with red fur and yellow, old fashion vest was frilly gesticulate with a glass of cider in his hooves, and the other, white pegasus was giggling like a maniac at everything.
The first drunk guy was telling his friend about young mare with silky, fluffy pink mane, bright smile and fur as white and cuddly as it was made from marshmallows.
At that description Sombra almost puke, thinking to himself that mare like this must be the most stupid, naive pony on entire Equestria. That impression was made even stronger when that red stallion start to blabbering how that “Celestia” or whatever loves to play with little fillies, take care of plants and is friendly and kind.
And then in his mind some thought evolve.Since he as far as knew he need a bride for his folks to give him crown, and that country bumpkin is such an idiot apparently, this won’t be so hard to convince her that he is her prince charming who will take her to the palace and make her his queen. And if she really is such a beauty maybe he will get something out of it.
He look at mare on his laps who fill in his cup. Mare then smile at him and he gives her a kiss in a cheek.
“Darling, I think we will not meet next week”
He said and put a few bits in a stocking under her skirt.
Girl only blink at that statement and touch his chest petting it with affection.
“But why? Don’t you like my anymore?” she try to persuade him. “ I can try those chains as you ask last time, you know…”
Sombra bite his lips but reply:
‘You know, baby, I would love that, but I think I just find myself ‘perfect’ bride to be”.
