The Jealous Dimension-Jumping Draconequus
Discord is in a Tree
Load Full StoryNext ChapterDiscord sat on a tree, watching, waiting. It was almost time; he could feel it. Drama Club was almost over.
And when Drama Club was over, Discord got to see him.
The 15-year-old boy that had stolen his heart.
Now, now, this whole thing was very complicated. Discord and this girl, Charlotte, had had this… thing for a while. Discord would visit Earth to go on dates with Charlotte and they really did like each other. At first, Charlotte was a little bit scared to go out with an all-powerful Lord of Chaos from another dimension, but eventually she warmed up to him and felt quite special. Charlotte was terribly excited to visit Equestria one day, but they never really had a chance to do that, unfortunately. It was all going well enough, until Charlotte was cast as Marian Paroo in a production of The Music Man and fell head-over-heels in love with the kid playing Harold Hill-- Alex White.
And Discord had fallen head-over-heels in love with the kid playing Harold Hill, too.
Now, before someone accuses the Spirit of Chaos to be a pedophile or something, remember that he’s ageless. He’s immortal. And also remember that he’s the Spirit of Chaos, so we’ve got a pansexual dude that can fall in love with literally anyone at any age-- pony, human, draconequus, or walking flower pot.
And he fell in love with a teenage human boy.
Charlotte and Discord decided that it was time to give it a rest as The Music Man was approaching, and they went their separate ways.
Their separate ways after Alex.
So Discord was in a tree, watching, waiting. He had put a spell on himself to make him invisible so nobody could see him in this tree. He couldn’t reveal himself to Alex just yet.
The Drama Kids started trickling out, one by one. Freshmen and seniors and juniors and sophomores that Discord didn’t care about.
But he didn’t see him.
Thinking about it, he didn’t see Charlotte, either, but she was the least of his worries.
Charlotte had confessed her love to Alex a few months ago, and he wanted to wait a bit, thinking that he wasn’t quite ready to date. She kept trying to impress him, though, seeing as she still liked him. She still like him a lot.
But Discord was positive that he liked him more.
Finally, Discord spotted a brunette boy in a dark blue hoodie walking down the music hallway.
His brunette boy in a dark blue hoodie.
However, there was a girl with long chocolate-colored hair in a light green winter coat standing close to him.
Too close.
And it was Charlotte.
Discord growled deep in his throat as he stood up on the branch he was on to get a better look.
What were they doing? Snuggling? Why was her head on his shoulder? Why were they holding hands?
“DARN IT, ALEX!” Discord thought, “YOU SAID ‘LET’S WAIT’’ TO HER!”
As he became angrier, his eyes filled with fiery rage. He gritted his teeth and scowled his face.
And then he looked back inside, almost unable to look away.
A nice-looking guy in a red fleece coat walked after the couple, smiled, waved at them, and left. It was their friend, Cody Yoland.
Discord snapped his eagle talon and shapeshifted into another friend of Charlotte and Alex, because he needed to ask Cody something very important.
He hopped down from the tree and appeared just as Cody walked out.
“Oh, hey, Edna.”
Discord-- as Edna-- cleared his throat. “Hi.” He mustered a sickeningly sweet smile and flashed it at Nick. “When did those two become a couple?”
“Oh,” he laughed. “Charlotte and Alex? Just a few days ago. She asked him out in person and he decided to just go for it. They’ve been pretty inseparable since. And Alex certainly seems happy with his choice, too, so everything is working out.”
Discord attempted to giggle, and Cody just sort of awkwardly smiled back. “Thanks, Cody,” Ed-cord said.
“Well,” Cody said, walking up the path towards a car, “My mom’s here. See you around.”
Ed-cord waved goodbye and as soon as he left, Discord snapped back into his true form, making sure to still be invisible.
As Discord looked back inside, Alex and Charlotte were still snuggling. She stood up on her toes and pecked him on the cheek.
Discord hated this.
And Charlotte loved it. She loved every second of it. She loved Alex and everything to do with him.
And Alex was starting to love her back, too.
Discord looked at the ground, dejected. He sighed and looked back up at the two.
And they were kissing. Actually kissing.
Discord teared up and snapped his eagle talon, returning to his home in the chaos dimension. The girl he once loved was kissing the boy he now did and he hated it all.
The problem was, Charlotte and Alex were happy.
Discord, however, was not.
