You’re my favorite Princess ever! : Adopt
Celestia’s sun had just begun to rise, and the ponies were all helping out to wrap up the Nightmare Night Festival. A certain dark blue alicorn was using her magic to help clear the decorations. She was a nocturnal pony however, and somnolence was starting to kick in. She started to dose off slightly, snapping back to consciousness when she felt a light pull on her tail. She turned her head around, and it was none other than the only foal who dared to pull a royal Princess’ mane and tail.
"Princess Luna, are you going to stay here in Ponyville?"
"I’m sorry fellow villager, I have to go back to Canterlot, where I belong."
"Oh, okay." Pipsqueak walked away looking dejected.
Luna just looked at the young colt walk away. A stream of thoughts passed through her head.
Besides Twilight Sparkle, he was one of the only ponies she had conversations with. Twilight was friendly and all, but Luna felt an unexplainable happiness every time she was with him. He was so innocent and adorable. Besides Celestia, he was the only pony who embraced her with a hug, although it was on her hooves, Luna appreciated it greatly all the same.
It was now or never. Luna did not even knew the little pony's name, and if she went back to her home in Canterlot, she might never see him again. It would be a devastating waste to lose this valuable friend.
"Neigh, child, wait!’’ Luna called out to the colt.
"Yes, Princess Luna?"
"What is thy name?"
"It’s Pipsqueak the pirate!’’ he exclaimed, drawing out his rubber sword with his mouth, and swinging it in the air.
Luna’s heart melted at the sight of that. It showed his innocence, just enjoying life for what it was.
"Well, Pipsqueak. Dost thou live here in Ponyville?"
"Yup, ever since I moved to here from Trottingham." Pip replied.
"Why did thou move to Ponyville?
"Well, I.. errr.." Pip stammered, trying to hide his sadness.
Luna went beside him and sat down. She put a hoof over Pipsqueak, giving him a comforting pat on the back.
"Something happened to my family back in Trottingham, so now I am alone in Ponyville." The little pony gave Luna a gloomy look.
Luna was shocked at what she just heard. It was the one thing she hated the most. Being alone. She of all ponies would know the hollow feeling of being alone, and she definitely would not want Pip to feel the same thing. Now she was living with her sister, but Pip had nopony to live with at all. One part of her wanted to know what exactly happened to his family, while another did not want him to be hurt by her questions any further. The alicorn decided to go with the latter.
"Hey Princess Luna, do you want to come and see my house?"
"Yes, but please, call me Luna."
At this, Pipsqueak gave a huge smile and began galloping away. Luna followed him, and they stopped at a small one bedroom house located a few houses away from Sugarcube Corner.
Pipsqueak arrived at a meager shack. He opened the door, and trotted in. Luna followed suit, and the sight before her tore her up on the inside. It was just a small room no larger than her own bathroom. There were only two things : An old mattress and a rectangular wooden chest. There was another door, leading to an extremely cramped toilet. It was nothing compared to her royal bedroom in Canterlot.
Pipsqueak sat on his mattress, smiling at Luna.
"So how do you find my house?" Pip asked.
"It’s beautiful..." Luna tried to fake a smile.
"I'm glad you like it!’’ He beamed. Luna instantly felt horrible for lying to the foal. A sloppy yawn suddenly escaped her mouth, indicating her drowsiness.
"I’ll have to fly off to Canterlot now.’’ Luna said with fatigue in her voice. She dreaded the idea of having to fly back all the way from Ponyville to Canterlot.
"Hey Luna, wanna stay for a sleep over?’’
Luna thought about it for awhile. She knew this would make her sister worry, but she definitely liked the idea of spending the night somewhere else besides home today.
"Yes. We..i mean, I would love to stay.’’ exclaimed the blue alicorn.
At that, Pipsqueak jumped around in excitement, claiming how fun it was going to be. Luna just smiled at the excited colt. Eventually after some time, he stopped.
"I’m going to take a shower first." At this, Pip removed his Nightmare Night costume, and placed it in his chest. Luna managed to take a sneak peek at what was inside. There was only a small set of clothes and a bag of apples. Luna watched as he took a small towel and headed for the toilet, closing the door between them.
"Today is going to be the best day ever!'' Pip squealed in excitement. He already had a mental plan of what to do with his favorite Princess. They would play hoove games, and he would show her a front flip on the mattress, a trick he learned while he was bored at home. Princess Luna's going to love it! he thought.
A stream of thoughts and questions passed through Luna's head again. What happened to his family? Who would pay his bills? What would he eat after the apples are gone? How long will he live here? How can I help him live in a better house? Another yawn escaped her mouth, interrupting her thoughts. She sat on the mattress. It was not half as comfortable as her bed in Canterlot, but it was okay for now. While waiting for Pip, she let her back fall on the sofa, staring into the ceiling. A few more thoughts came to her again, but soon enough she became too tired to entertain any of them. Everything was drifting away slowly now, her vision slipping out of focus…
Pip came out of the toilet, feeling fresh as ever. He was disappointed however, when he saw Luna already fast asleep. He wanted to play a few games before bedtime. He decided to sleep too, positioning himself next to Luna.
"Goodnight, Luna" he whispered quietly, before dozing off into a deep sleep.

You’re my favorite Princess ever! : Most Wonderful of Nights
The evening rays consisting of orange hues of warm sunlight filtered through the half opened window and fell on Luna’s eyes. Awakening from her slumber, she noticed two things, the first being Pip’s absence, and the second being that she had to get back to Canterlot straight away to raise the moon, or her sister might start sending guards to look for her. In a moment of haste, she forgot about Pip, left the house and immediately took off to Canterlot.
A few hours ago...
Celestia’s Sun was now high in the air, and Pip awakened to see Luna still deep in her sleep.
"Hey Princess Luna, Wake up! I told Pinkie we’re going to make cupcakes today!" Pip exclaimed, pushing Luna back and forth. However, the alicorn was still in a slumber. Minutes passed, and even with his constant pushing and calling, she still had not woken up. He started to become gloomy, but he was determined to bake cupcakes with her favorite Princess today. He waited and waited, but she was still deep in her state of relaxation. An hour passed, and now he was wearing a sour face of disappointment. The colt rested his head on his hooves, counting every second that passes by, hoping that she would rise soon. The door suddenly burst open, with the party pony standing outside.
"Hey Pip, what’s taking you so long?"
“Princess Luna is still asleep.” He gave Pinkie a sad, gloomy look.
“Well duh, after all, I’m sure being a Princess is hard work. Come on Pip, let’s go first. ”
Pip just sighed, as he followed Pinkie to Sugarcube Corner.
Luna had a battle in her interior monologue while flying back home, her emotions was playing with her, and she just felt utterly terrible.
You just stayed at his house, and you just left him alone without him knowing. What if an accident happened to him? He wanted to spend some time with you, yet all you did was sleep. What is the matter with you? You’re just using him. The Princess of the Night making use of a poor earth pony. You’re not even fit to be called a Princess.
Luna could only hold back her tears as she flew back to the castle. Her room in the castle was in her sights now, and she decided to fly straight in her room today. After all, she did not want to see her sister or any royal guards today.
I’m just going to raise the moon, and then I’m going to sleep all the troubles off.
Luna landed on the balcony, and started to work her magic. A silver glow appeared on her horn, and soon evolved into a bright light. Slowly, she lifted the moon high in the sky. She trotted back to her bedroom, only to give an unpleasant sigh at the sight of her sister.
“What were you doing all along little sis? I was worried for you.”
"It’s none of thy business.” Luna tried hard not to look at her sister in the eyes.
“Are you sure you don’t want to talk about anything?”
“Yes, sister, I do not want to.”
"If there’s anything you need, I’ll be here for you alright?’’
Luna did not reply to her last sentence. She just tucked herself in bed, and heard the door quietly lock itself. She looked around, and her sister was not there anymore.
A bright light falling on Luna’s eyes caused her sleep cycle to stop. She looked out, and the sun was already raised high up in the air. She flew out of the window straight to Ponyville.
She was now just a meter outside Pipsqueak's door, and an overflow of thoughts ran through her mind.
Okay Luna, you’ve got this. Just knock on the door and -
‘’Luna!’’ The door slammed open, and Pip’s eyes beamed as he ran to the Princess and threw his hooves on her front hooves. At that moment, Luna had absolutely no words to say. She had betrayed him, yet he still embraced her. She returned him a small nuzzle, as he released himself from Luna.
‘’I wanted to wake you up to make cupcakes with Pinkie, but you wouldn’t stop sleeping.’’
‘’I.. I.. I apologize.’’
‘’It’s okay. Come on in Luna!’’ He jumped around excitedly as Luna trotted in. Pip’s lightheartedness caused a surge of guilt to wash over her as she entered the cramped house.
‘’Hey Luna, I’m going to play ball with the Scootaloo, Applebloom and Sweetie Belle now, wanna join in?’’
“Where art thou playing at?”
“The field just beside the mountain.”
‘’Okay, Pip. We shall be there in in ten minutes.’’
A gratifying idea popped in her head. Luna flapped her wings, and boosted off to Canterlot, leaving a confused Pip. Using full speed, she reached the outskirts of the city in less than five minutes.
“Guards!’’ Luna shouted with her royal Canterlot voice. A whole squad of Pegasi guards immediately flew towards her.
“How may we serve you, your majesty?”
‘’We need thee to do this now..’’
The alicorn flew back to to skies of Ponyville, scanning for Pip. Soon she spooted him, along with three fillies. They seemed so awfully familiar, and she soon recalled they were the fillies in the group of foals Pip was in during the Nightmare Night Festival. She gently touched down the floor, leaving the 3 fillies in shock.
“Greetings, fellow villagers.”
The Cutie Mark Crusaders just knelt down and hid their faces in fear.
“Relax, girls, she’s really nice. Scary, but nice.”
“We apologize for being so... mean during the festival.” The princess' compassionate tone was definitely a huge contrast to her shouting at the Nightmare Night Festival.
But soon enough, the awkwardness cleared as they began to play ball. Playing with the foals made her so happy. There was a bubbling joy in her stomach she just could not explain, it was a feeling she had that she just never wanted to end. They played till evening, and the CMCs went back home. Luna knew that the sun going down was the cue for her to return to Canterlot to raise the moon, but she could not just return home yet...
“Pipsqueak, you should return home now.”
“Are you going back to Canterlot again, Luna?”
“Not yet. We shall accompany thee home first.”
They were now just a few steps away from Pip’s house. Luna hoped the pegasus guards did everything right, and she could not wait to see his reaction. The colt just walked into his door, and upon opening it..
His jaw just dropped.
A tear of joy escaped Pip’s eyes. Luna decided that if she could not change the size of the house, she would change everything else. The whole room was repainted in to a cool aqua blue color, and the plain wooden floor was changed into a lavender carpet. The mattress was replaced by a velvet canopy bed, and the chest, by a modern drawer. There was also a mini fridge and a small microwave oven on top of it. He ran to the new wardrobe and opened it, and low and behold, all his belongings were still there, including a few extra card games. Pip was hopping around in an ecstasy he could not express in words.
“We hope you like it.”
“Like it? I LOVE IT!” Pip jumped on her and gave her a tight hug, making her cheeks blushed a crimson red.
“We have to go now, we shall come again tomorrow.”
Pip just smiled at her, as she walked out of the house, giving him one last warm smile as she took off to Canterlot.
