Set on the day of Applejack's funeral, Twilight struggles with the now unavoidable issue of her immortality and grieves for the passing of those she held dear. Celestia reveals her own inner turmoil while Spike and Luna seem oddly well adjusted.

This was written as a prequel to a monstrous 30,000 word future fic that kinda had the rug pulled out from under it by the season six finale that I may or may not throw out at some point. I think it stands well enough on its own though for now.
