Indigo Moon is a magic scientist at Canterlot Castle, before going on a crusade at the personal request of Princess Celestia. His two companions are a reclusive Equizoologist and a slightly egotistical adventurer who prefers to work alone. Their mission: find and document all known magical flora, fauna, and artefacts in Equestria, and maybe discover some new ones along the way. These three, along with a rhyming zebra hermit (who only shows up periodically), set out to do just that.

But there's more to this story than meets the eye, as mysterious happenings begin to happen. And nopony has the faintest clue of what's REALLY going on.
