“Hey Pinkie Pie! What’s the rush?” Rainbow Dash asked as she watched as a pink blur that she questioned was actually a pony flew through Ponyville.
"Can’t talk. Need to get to Twilight!” Pinkie squealed, speeding up to unnatural speeds. Turning around Pinkie wanted to see if Rainbow had been still following her, before accidently running into the trunk of the Golden Oaks Library, a squeaking sound radiating through the air. Falling down on her rump, Rainbow couldn’t help but burst out laughing, neglecting to notice the purple unicorn walking outside.
“Twilight!” Pinkie yelled, jumping up and bear hugging her friend.
“Umm, hi guys. Did you need something? I was just getting ready to make some breakfast.” Twilight breathlessly asked, trying to get air into her lungs under the pressure of Pinkie Pie’s hug.
“Hey Pinks…” Rainbow flew down and landed next to Pinkie, placing her hoof on Pinkie's foreleg. “I’m not doctor, but I think Twilight needs to breath.”
“Oooops, sorry!” Pinkie immediately let go of Twilight, smiling sheepishly as the unicorn broke out into a coughing fit. “ I was so excited to see you! We have so much to do today." Pinkie squealed happily causing Twilight to become even more confused.
Looking over her shoulder, she noticed Spike with her daily calendar. Shrugging, Spike turned it around to a blank page.
“Um Pinkie?” Twilight started rubbing the back of her hoof, trying to remember if they had plans and she had forgotten to write them down. “I don’t understand. Did we have plans today?”
Pinkie started bouncing in place, attempting to control her excitement. "I found the most amazing location in Ponyville! It's really cute and it's got so many items and you just have to see it! Please can we go see it? Please!?" Pinkie Pie asked excitedly. Twilight took a step back, dumbfounded at what she just heard.
“Sounds fun. I’m in!” Rainbow Dash brohoofed Pinkie, ignoring the glare from Twilight.
“You promised Applejack that you would help her with...actually you never told me what you two were doing. Judging by the books you checked out, I’m not sure I want to know.”
Groaning, Rainbow wiped her face with her hoof before taking to the air again. “That isn’t until tonight. Come on Twi!”
“No, and Pinkie I'm not trying to be rude but whatever you found is probably restricted. We can't just go into some abandoned area without knowing for sure if we could be there. If it is restricted, as it most likely is since we have never heard of it before, it will be against the law to…”Looking up, she notice Pinkie already running off to where Twilight assumed was the spot.
“Pinkie wait! Rainbow...go take a nap or something" Twilight shouted teleporting near her friend to avoid having to run.
“And miss out on this? Yeah right!” Rainbow quickly flew after them, much to Twilight's annoyance.
When they got there however, she saw her other friends approaching the building.
“Unbelievable. Girls we really shouldn’t be here. We could be breaking so many laws right now!” Twilight whispered, looking around as if they were about to get arrested or something.
“Oh come on Twi, ya act like it’s the first time we’ve been in a buildin like this” Applejack remarked, following the others inside the abandoned building..
One by one the girls crawled through a small opening in the wall that had crumbled, coughing as puffs of dust shot up from the sudden disturbance.
"I’m with Twilight. Come on girls let’s go back. We shouldn’t be messing around in here. What if Mayor Mare finds out? She’ll will be angry with us if we touch anything. Let's just go back home and forget this even happened. I don't get into trouble" Fluttershy whispered, her body trembling as she attempted to hide behind Twilight.
Twilight quickly changed her mind however, noticing the walls of bookshelves filled to the brim. “Think about what we can learn in here! Who knows how long these have been here…” Twilight couldn’t help but take a scroll out of one of the bookcases. Unrolling it she noticed that it had been a map of constellations.
"Hey check out this old chest!” Rainbow Dash tried opening it with her hooves to no prevail. Smirking Applejack went over and bucked the lock on the chest. It immediately flew open, revealing an assortment of just random things that reminded her of a fillies toy box
“I could have done that.”
“Keep tellin yerself that.”
"Look Twilight there's old dresses in this suitcase. Perhaps I can refurbish them, or recreate them. I love the rustic feel to them. I might be able to inspired my fall line from them! Rarity started pulling out them out to get a better look.
Twilight sighed, knowing they shouldn’t be there. "Girls stop! This property is restricted for a reason. I can talk to Mayor Mare and Celestia though, and see if we can get permission to be in here. We should go though.” Looking around at all the scrolls and books, Twilight cursed at herself, not wanting to go herself.
"Think about it his way, years from now this will probably be restored and everything. Right? We can get rich off this place!" Rainbow Dash threw a small metal object at Twilight. Shaking her head, Twilight levitated the object back into the box while rolling her eyes.
“Come on girls! The last thing I, I mean we need is another lecture from Celestia about being somewhere we’re not supposed to.”
A moment later a loud crash echoed through the building. Turning around everypony relaxed a little to see that it was only Fluttershy. She had been examining a mirror and had knocked it down by accident.
"Fluttershy,are you alright?" Twilight asked, looking around at the shards of glass on the ground. Fluttershy blushed and chuckled lightly.
Her cheeks turning rosy pink as her friends stared at her.
“I’m, alright. No need to worry about me.”
They continued to look over the chest, and some of the boxes they found containing old paintings and books. Looking around at the vast material surrounding her, she started making a mental note of how she should even begin to organize it when something on the mirror caught her eye.
"Huh? What's this?" Twilight asked mumbled. She took notice of how thick the mirror was. Picking the mirror up with her magic, she shook it was amazed when she heard something inside of it. She looked over, she took notice of Rarity.
"Rarity, can you help me really fast?" Twilight yelled, examining the mirror a little more.
Rarity turned her head around and blushed while laughing as she held some old jewelry in her magic. “I didn’t touch anything, I was just admiring the jewelry in this bag.”
"I know you touched it, now come over and help me!" Twilight said. Rarity ran over to Twilight, taking the mirror into her magical grasp.
"Twilight you wouldn't believe this! There was this large..." Rarity was cut off by a wall to her face. Dropping the mirror, the shattering noise echoed loudly making a noise that anypony outside would have noticed.
"Rarity please look where you’re...what is that?" Twilight watched as a sheet of paper fell out of the mirror. She furrowed her brow, Twilight cleared away the glass from around it and picked it up with her magic. As Twilight unfolded the paper, all of her friends crowded around her.
"What do you think it is?!" Pinkie Pie squealed.
“I’m not sure. It’s in a language I’ve never seen before.” Twilight turned it around and back a couple more times. “Maybe one of the books in Canterlot Castle will help?”
"You do know once Princess Celestia finds out we broke into restricted property, she's going to get super duper mad at us. Right?" Pinkie asked, earning her a glare from Twilight.
Rarity carefully took the paper from Twilight, examined it for a moment. "I know what it says. I’ve used them before in a couple of my dresses. They’re symbols meant to represent letters." Rarity explained, almost oblivious to the fact that she pointed out an obvious fact.
"Sugarcube, we know they are symbols. Can ya just translate it for us?" Applejack asked, glancing at the paper. Rarity chuckled as she nodded and leaned in to read the symbols. A couple of them were smudged or the ink had been worn out, so it took her a moment.
"If you are reading this,
then you must turn back
For sorrow and death await you.
If you must go down this path you will either
find something beyond your wildest dreams…
or you will die."
Everponyl flinched as Rarity finished reading the warning.
"Well gee that's cheerful." Rainbow Dash remarked, rolling her eyes. Twilight looked at the clue in Rarity’s hooves. On the bottom it looked like a map showing the way to something beneath Equestria
"But I don't understand. This looks like it should be in an artifact room in Canterlot. What is it doing here?” Pondering on the reason of why the map was stored away in a mirror. She continued to look at the map.
“You know what this means?” Rainbow Dash cheered, snatching the paper out of Rarity’s magic.
“Pirate map!” Pinkie squealed, literally bouncing off the walls.
Soon they heard some ponies walk past the building. Not wanting to get caught, they all quickly ran out leaving Twilight behind. Twilight groaned before running after them. "Girls come back!”
A moment later she caught up to her friends staring at a demolition crew, about to demolish the building.
"That's sad that they have to take this place down.” Pinkie mumbled
All those books!" Twilight said, before sighing in relief as some ponies arrived went in and started collect all the books. Twilight put the map in Pinkie's mane for safe keeping, as her and her friends walked away. Not wanting to get in the way.
"Come on girls! We should go!" Twilight exclaimed. Some of her friends like the idea but Fluttershy was less than pleased.
“I don’t know. It sounds dangerous.” Fluttershy whispered.
“This is going to be so awesome!” Rainbow Dash yelled, taking to her wings.
Fluttershy whimpered at her friend's eagerness. She felt a sense of adventure to, but the prospect of another quest, as they had done to many to count, made her a little uneasy.
"Girls if we found some sort of artifact or some hidden place we could start saving old historical buildings from being down." Come on! Please!" Twilight told them. They were all still a little skeptical everypony quickly decided to go, except Fluttershy.
“See you in the morning!” Twilight grabbed the map again, before everyone went home for the day.
Chapter 2
The next day after the friends had decided to go on a journey Pinkie Pie woke up and went outside. When she got outside her friends were waiting for her. They were all looking at the map as Twilight figured out which direction they would go. Soon they decided to start and headed off in the direction that the map pointed out.
"So are we each going get a share?" Twilight asked. They all nodded at her as they assured her they would all share the treasures wealth with eachother. When they decided to share the treasure they headed out of Ponyville while they followed the map.
They didn't want to spend all week finding the treasure which is why they needed to get to the place where the treasure was held that day and then continued to find the treasure inside the place the day after. They were going to try and get enough done that day.
They walked towards the direction which the map specified. They all left Ponyville behind as they walked towards the direction of the treasure. They wondered how much treasure there was. They wanted to share in its wealth. They could buy mansions and business's if they had all of that treasure.
They finally found the cave. They stopped in front of it as its dark entrance scared them a bit. Twilight checked he map over and concluded they were in the right place. She turned to her friends in order to give them one last chance to change their minds about the possible journey they were about to take.
"Are we sure that we want to do this girls? We can back out now if we don't want to find the treasure!" Twilight said as she offered them a second chance to back out. They all nodded their heads as they wanted to go through with it. They all had made up their minds about already.
"Of coarse we should! There's a treasure holding vast wealth in there we are going there and nothing will talk us out of that." Rainbow Dash stated with confidence. Twilight nodded as she looked at the place. They all continued walking towards place. Once they got their Twilight took a deep breath.
They all walked into the cave and Twilight lit up her horn as she guided her friends through the cave. They were all a little bit scared by the darkness and depth of the cave. Even Rainbow Dash was a little bit on edge as well. It was to creepy and they didn't know how deep the place was.
They all began search as Twilight read the map and figured out that hey we're going in the right direction so they stayed on the path. The cave looked like it was a thousand years old. They all knew that the treasure was held in a special room that was lost to history.
They were all uneasy as they looked around through the cave. Twilight and Rarity kept their horns lit as they led their friends through the darkness. Rarity wondered how great the treasure could be. She couldn't wait and neither her friends couldn't wait either. They hoped that they didn't get into any trouble in there as they continued on their fateful journey.
Once they were in they noticed that the place was huge. Pinkie Pie was amazed by the giant staircases. They were all speechless. They had no idea where to search first. They knew that in their minds it would be a bad idea to get separated so Twilight looked at her friends and spoke.
"Let's stick together girls. Somepony could easily get lost in here. We will all search for the treasure together. Is that a good idea?" Twilight asked. They all nodded in agreement. Twilight and her friends kept their horns lit as they descended down the giant structure.
"The treasure is somewhere in here. I can just tell since the map has led us to here." Twilight said as she looked at the map so she could keep track of where they were all going. Her friends looked around at the place. Applejack was amazed at the huge place.
"Ew there's spiders!!" Rarity said recoiling in disgust. Twilight smiled and rolled her eyes. They all continued to descend down the staircase. Once they got down they approached a door. Twilight walked up to it and opened it with her magic. They all entered the next room with stairs.
They started to descend another staircase behind the door as they went further below in the complex. Twilight checked the map to make sure they were going the right way. She was glad that they were. She wondered how many staircases their were as she hated stairs.
Slowly they descended to the bowels of the place. Once they got to the end of the stairs they all went left as they followed the map. Pinkie Pie's eyes darted around at the structures. They all knew that the treasure was some place as they hoped that the map would lead them there.
They focused on following the map as Twilight inspected it as much as she could. Twilight looked up a few times just to make sure that they were going the right way the map wanted to them to go. Twilight and her friends wanted that treasure so much. They didn't really want to rest as that would waste their time.
Twilight and Pinkie Pie ended up beside eachother as they all looked around at the ancient walls and torches that were all extinguished. They examined all the details of the ruins that they journeyed through. Twilight tried to concentrate in following the map.
Twilight continued to look at the map. She wanted to find the treasure so badly. They looked all throughout the building they were not going to give up. They're were going to find the treasure as long as it didn't take them a long time then they were fine looking for it.
Soon they had entered another part of the area and they went inside it as they hoped to find the treasure while they continued to look for the hidden treasure. They heard that there was a sea of treasure waiting in a big room for them. They hoped that it was true.
Chapter 3
They continued to walk through the deep halls and rooms as they looked for the treasure that was hidden very well. Rarity and Twilight walked with their friends following them as they eh
Per me try to find the treasure around as Pinkie Pie bounced happily through the halls with them. They checked every single room. They found lots of ancient paintings and maps inside the rooms.
They were all mesmerized by the huge building. It was so beautiful and old as it looked like it was there for years. They admired it as they continued looking for the treasure. They needed to find it. They continued to think about all of the vast wealth that they could share with eachother. They hoped that they wouldn't die or get lost down there.
And all of a sudden as they walked down a hall they found a room with a golden door. They looked at the door over as they wondered what was past it. They had a good feeling about it as they were getting the impression that the treasure was just beyond the door. Twilight studied it as she wondered what was through the door.
She turned to look at her friends and they all smiled at her. She was so grateful that they went on this journey with her as they helped her try to find the treasure on the journey that they had all took together after they had found that map. Her eyes started to water as she felt like they were about to face victory as they all felt good about what was going to possibly happen. Twilight calmed herself as she looked at the door. They all stared at the door with her.
They wondered what was going to happen once they opened it the door and walked into that room. They wondered if they would find the treasure and have their lives changed for the better. They all thought about the possibility of getting wealthy at the very moment they opened that door that they were standing in front of. Twilight turned to them and spoke with emotion in her voice as her eyes filled with tears of joy.
"If the treasure is beyond this door then we need to split the treasure for ourselves. We will each take a bag full. I brought bags to put the treasure in. We can sell the treasure in exchange for vast amounts of money! We will be rich!" Twilight exclaimed. Rarity had a problem with taking treasure for herself as she was to generous to not share some.
Twilight stood back and had her friends stand back as well so that they didn't get hit when she opened the doors. Twilight then used her magic to open the door and she gasped at what she saw. They saw a vast sea of treasure that lay before them. Twilight and her friends started to take out bags that they had carried with them and opened them up so they could fill them with treasure.
They were absolutely mesmerized by the sea of treasure. They were going to be absolutely rich with wealth and st made them almost dance with joy. Theywnernehappy that the treasure wasn't a myth and that it turned out to be a real treasure that was hidden somewhere and they had found it together as they had helped eachother through the journey.
They felt joy in that moment. After hours of searching they had finally found the treasure that they had searched for. They were stunned with silence at how much treasure there was. Finally Applejack shook her head to try and get her mind back on track and then she found her voice and then she spoke to her friends.
"Well girls what are you standing around for?! Grab as much as you can get your hands on let's get out of here before somepony else doesn't steal the treasure." Applejack exclaimed. They all split up in the room as they started filling their bags with the treasure. They were aware of not being able to loot they entire place but they could get a lot of bags filled up.
They were in hog heaven as they filled up their bags with the treasure. They were so happy at that moment that they couldn't contain it. They all had smiles on their faces as. They loaded up their bags. Soon they finished and they all left building. They went home and bought extra places for themsleves and they all became extremely wealthy except for Rarity as Rarity gave her some of her found wealth away to poor ponies but she did keep some for herself.
They were glad that they went on the adventure and got the treasure as they became wealthy. They revealed the details of the treasure to the public. Celestia wasn't happy but Twilight paid her off by giving her some amounts of the treasure. Celestia dropped it and decided that it belonged to them and she couldn't do anything about anymore since the treasure was found and exposed and it was already collected by Twilight and her friends.
Celestia forgave them though as she knew that they had found it fairly. Even if they were breaking the law they couldn't help it as they had to much fun trying to look for the treasure so Celestia decided to forget about what they had done to find the treasure. Twilight and Celestia did talk about how Twilight found the in that abandoned house.
They were all happy as they had agreed to go on an adventure and found treasure from out of the adventure. They all got a share of the treasure as well and they were happy about at as well. They agreed to go on more adventures soon for other objects or lost locations as they had all enjoyed what they had done together.
