The Count of Romaneia hasn't ruled very long since his father fell ill and he was given temporary control, which is unhelpful to the fact that he has nopony to keep him company - no true friends, no lover, no family to actually spend time with.

To worsen the problem, ponies in his kingdom seem to be having issues. After his father's illness began, the town has grown slowly quiet. Despite his best efforts to uncover the cause, Count Onyx Dawn always comes up empty-hooved. So, he reaches out to the only pony who he knows can help him: Princess Celestia.

Upon hearing an old friend's problems, the Princess sends the best ponies for the job his way: The Elements of Harmony.
