The caribou had conquered Equestria and much of the world besides. The living god of the monsters spread his toxic influence like a plague, and sickened all the land. There was no hope against a creature that lived beyond consequence and beyond care, existing on whim, will and fiat, with none to make him pay for his cruelty and excesses.

But the rule was always unstable. It needed only a force from elsewhere to crush the paper thin contrivance. The force came, with a bloody vengeance.
