No one spoke a word. As Rainbow Dash wrapped a bandage around Lapiz's leg, Rich had finally broken the silence.

"Soooo, um, I know we got off to a bad start, but... could we still get to know each other at least?", Rich asked Rainbow Dash

"Hm? Of course we can! If your willing be to my friend, then I'm willing to be yours", Rainbow Dash answered

A militiaman came running out of the bushes, in his hand was two long, straight, thin, and most importantly CLEAN sticks. "The sticks you asked for sir", the Militiaman held out the sticks to Carel.

"Thank you", Carel quickly grabbed the sticks and got to work. The bandage that Rainbow had put on Lapiz's leg, was so that it would slow down the bleeding, that would buy some time for the militiaman to finish his job. Carel unwrapped the bandage and got to work, carefully removing pieces of shrapnel.

Every time a piece of shrapnel was removed, Lapiz would flinch. It was 23 pieces later until he finally said it.

"Ow", Lapiz had flinched again

"Good to know your still conscious...", Rich said

"No, it's NOT", Carel said, "In a bit, he'll be screaming at the top of his lungs, I'll need him to be knocked out.... if, it's OK with you General?"

"Do what you must to avoid me kicking you", Lapiz said, "Rich, you've done it before, so you can surely do it again. Knock me out"

Rich's eyes just shot wide open. Back then, when Lapiz was still only a One Star General, Rich had somehow managed to knock Lapiz out with a metal spoon, they were doing a food fight, and Rich thought Lapiz's toughness would be able to sustain the blow from the utensil, but he still somehow got knocked out anyways.

"Ummmmmm, you sure? I don't even know if it'll work on you anymore", Rich said

"Oh for bucks sakes", Rainbow Dash said out loud, she whacked Lapiz on the forehead, knocking him out

"That works, though, I might need to take a memory test after he's fixed up, you might've messed something up", Carel said

"Oops, sorry", Rainbow Dash shrugged

There was some rustling in the bushes. Rainbow Dash flew up inside a tree, if her secret about being friends with these guys, was found out, she'd be busted by Twilight SOOOO hard.

A Grey Pony jumped out onto Sam, knocking him onto his belly. The pony had a Light Grey Coat and a Light Golden Mane, it was a Pegasus... With some facial problems

"Hello!", The Grey Pony said as it sat down on Sam's back

"DERPY?!?!", Rainbow Dash yelled up from in the trees

"Rainbow Dash? Is that you?", Derpy asked out loud

Sam jumped up and put Derpy in a headlock, Derpy squeaked out of fright.

"WAIT! Let her go!", Rainbow Dash pleaded

""She" assaulted me!", Sam said

"She's just a friend, I'm 120% sure she meant no harm", Rainbow Dash said

"*GROWL* If you say so...", Sam dropped Derpy onto the Ground

*THUD*

"Thank you sir", Derpy said, "What your name?"

Sam was silent

"Oh, ok", Derpy said with a frown on her face

"Derpy, did you follow me out here?", Rainbow Dash asked

"I'm so sorry Rainbow Dash! I won't do it again! I Promise!", Derpy was SUPER sorry

"I'm not as upset as you think I am, I just need you to know something now that you know about these guys", Rainbow Dash said

"Ok", Derpy put a hoof up to her ear to listen really closely

"You must NEVER! And I mean NEVER, tell ANYPONY about these creatures", Rainbow Dash said, she used the term 'Creatures' because Derpy wouldn't understand what a Human even was

"You got it Rainbow Dash!", Derpy saluted

Derpy looked over at Sam, who was currently holding his Heavy Machine Gun, on the lookout for any more intruders.

"Do you wanna be friends?", Derpy asked

"No", Sam responded

"Why not?"

"Because I said so"

"Hmf, well I wanna be your friend, and YOU can't stop that", Derpy jumped onto Sam, giving him a hug, wrapping her hoofs all the way around Sam's skinny body

"Dammit, why do you have to be so cute?", Sam felt the urge to pet her, but he couldn't get himself to do it. Out of all things he just wasn't brave enough to do (Which there are very few), he just for some reason, couldn't pet Derpy

"Thanks for not being rough on me this time", Derpy said

"I could just strangle you right now you know", Sam threw a bad fake threat at Derpy, she could completely tell that his threat was false

"I know you wouldn't do that, why else would I be hugging you?", Derpy said

"*SIGH* Touche", Sam said

He couldn't keep it in anymore, he didn't want the rest of the convoy to see him having a soft side, but he felt like he had too... He started scratching behind her ears.

Derpy started purring somehow, she was obviously enjoying it. "You like that?" Sam asked, Derpy nodded and nuzzled his chest with her muzzle.

"Adorable", Rich said

"Heh, You know, it's hard for me not to take my attention away from the General right now, sounds like you guys are witnessing quite the scene", Carel said

"Wow, I didn't expect them to become friends so quickly", Rainbow Dash said

"You never answered my question, what IS your name?", Derpy asked Sam

"Sam", Sam responded

Derpy continued purring

I tried my best to add some adorable Derpy to this... NO! They will NOT fall in love, that is against the rules of this story... EEEEEEE I'm just so proud of myself right now!! As I was withing this, I "EEEEE"ed over 4 times, I find this super cute , even though I wrote it (Is that unnatural for an author?)

Well you now know that Sam has a soft side: Cuddles.
