//-------------------------------------------------------// A Love That Lasts Forever -by GoldenChaos- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Fluttershy yawned, feeling extremely tired. She looked at her clock, 6 am, the usual time for her to get up. Stretching, she slowly tried to get out of the bed, only for a fluffy arm to wrap around her. Fluttershy was surprised at first, but then rolled her teal eyes. "Discord, let go," said Fluttershy softly. "I need to take care of the animals. Oh, they are probably so hungry." "Can you please cuddle for five more minutes?" asked Discord, turning Fluttershy around to meet his pleading eyes. Fluttershy giggled. "You ask me every morning." "And every morning you say yes," Discord added. Fluttershy gave a playful roll of her eyes, before nestling into Discord's soft and warm chest. She loved him. They have been married about forty five years now. Fluttershy was sixty six, but didn't look the part. Her face held youth, despite all the years she lived. There were two things that would tell anypony she was older than they thought. One was the fact that her mane was pure white, and her eyes. They twinkled, showing a pony how much wisdom Fluttershy holds in her mane from all the experiences she had. Suddenly, Fluttershy started coughing. Scared, Discord pulled away from the cuddle, giving her a worried glance. "My dear, are you alright?" asked Discord, clearly worried. Fluttershy coughed a few more times, then nodded. "Just need... A bit of water," said Fluttershy in a raspy voice. She rose from the bed, and this time Discord didn't stop her from leaving. Fluttershy walked out of the room, and into the kitchen, where she filled a glass with water. Drinking it, she heard a crash. Behind her was Angel's grandson, Spirit. He was white, except for a small brown circle over his eye. Spirit squeaked, complaining how hungry he was, much like how Angel had when he was alive. Fluttershy sniffed, remembering Angel. He died peacefully in his sleep, but it still hurt. Angel, though rude sometimes, was there for Fluttershy when she felt down. "Spirit, just a moment," said Fluttershy. She set down the glass after drinking it down, her throat feeling much better. She opened a cabinet which contained animal food. She fed them all, and finally was finished. Fluttershy's legs felt surprisingly weak. Fluttershy slowly made her way to the couch in her living room. But, she didn't make it. She collapsed on the ground. "D-Discord..." She cried out weakly. A flash of light appeared in front of her, along with a muffled voice, before all went black. Discord was afraid, no doubt about it. An hour ago, his wife collapsed on the ground, and blacked out. Discord paced mindlessly in the Ponyville Hospital waiting room, waiting for news on Fluttershy. They were currently testing her. Most of her friends were waiting with him, quietly crying, or just sitting. One wasn't there, who was Rainbow. She had been dead for about the last twenty years. When she was forty three, she continued to fly with the Wonderbolts, even with the fact her health was in danger since pegasi aren't meant to fly in harsh conditions after age thirty five. Rainbow's heart failed when she was flying to stop a tornado, and was flung into a tree, breaking her spine, and dying shortly after. Discord was sad for her death, even if they didn't see eye to eye sometimes. "Mr. Draconequus?" called a nurse. Discord's ears perked up. He walked towards her. "How... How is Fluttershy?" asked Discord. The nurse's expression was solemn. "I'm sorry to tell you, but Fluttershy won't make it through the night," said the nurse. Discord felt dizzy. Tears stung the corners of his eyes. He looked back to his and Fluttershy's friends. They heard. Rarity broke down crying. Twilight stood, shocked. Pinkie's mane deflated, and Applejack tried to comfort her. "N-No..." said Discord. "And Mrs. Fluttershy requests to speak with you," said the nurse. Discord wasted no time, but decided not to teleport, as the bright light may not have a nice effect with Fluttershy. The nurse led him to a door. Pushing it open, Discord walked in. "F-Fluttershy?" Discord walked up to the bed. Fluttershy seemed to look older, and much more frail. An unicorn doctor stood by the bed, levitating a clipboard. Fluttershy smiled weakly at Discord. "Hello, Discord," she said. She tried to sit up, but Discord rushed to the bed, gently laying her back down. "Don't use up all your energy," said Discord. Tears threatened to spill, but Discord didn't let them. "I-I can take this pain away, a-and we can be together forever." Fluttershy shook her head, still smiling. "Discord, I have to say no," said Fluttershy. "Ponies come and go, and I'm not an exception." "You could be," mumbled Discord. "But if I were to be immortal, it wouldn't be fair to others," said Fluttershy. "Especially to those who lost their loved ones." Discord sighed. "Very well." Fluttershy looked satisfied. "Discord, remember, I will always love you," she said. "I-I will always love you too, my dear," said Discord, cracking a small smile for her sake. Fluttershy closed her eyes, looking happy. She took in a deep breath, slowly letting it out. She didn't move again. "F-Fluttershy?" "She's gone, I'm afraid," said the doctor. "We wish we could have prevented this." Discord held Fluttershy, sobbing into her fur, which was still warm. But that warmth was slowly fading away. "W-What happened?" asked Discord, sniffing. "She had a stroke. It was bound to happen, because of her old age and the fact that she is an animal caretaker," the doctor explained. Discord looked down upon Fluttershy's face, filled with sadness. Author's Note This is going to be a series. :D //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Discord, hanging his head, walked out to the waiting room. Immediately, the girls rushed up to him. "Is Fluttershy alright?" asked Twilight. "Is there time to throw a 'We Love You' party?" asked Pinkie. "Oh, I hope the darling is alright," said Rarity, looking down at the ground. Discord groaned. "Girls, Ah think Discord has somethin' to say," said Applejack, looking up at Discord with sadness. Discord sighed. "S-She's dead," said Discord. He broke down into tears, as did the rest of his friends. Discord refused to believe that his true love was gone. But, reality smacked him in the face. Fluttershy was gone forever, it was simple as that. But, it hurt too much. "I can't believe it," muttered Twilight, probably to herself, though Discord heard her. "Do I have to go through this three more times?" "I understand, Twilight," said Discord. He actually felt bad for the alicorn, knowing she is immortal like himself, and has to lose all her friends. Twilight looked up, shocked. She smiled, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Ah enjoyed bein' Flutters' friend," said Applejack. "She was the kindest pony in Equestria, no doubt." "And the darling would never miss a get-together no matter what," said Rarity. "We went to the spa so much..." "Girls, how about we get some lunch?" asked Twilight. "It might help." Discord was silent, while the others quietly agreed. "Discord?" "Nngh, I guess I'll go," said Discord, as he rolled his eyes. "You don't have to," said Twilight. "I might as well. It will hurt too much to return to the cottage at the moment," said Discord. "Yer keepin' the cottage, right?" asked Applejack glancing at Discord. "Of course! It contains too many memories to just be thrown away," said Discord bitterly. "Ah'm sorry for asking," said Applejack, looking away. Discord sighed. Discord and the others soon arrived at the restaurant in Ponyville. The sky was cloudy, as if the pegasi were grieving for Fluttershy as well. At the table, everypony was silent, occasionally talking about an experience with Fluttershy. "I remember the time when Fluttershy saved us from the dragon!" said Pinkie, slightly cheerful. She giggled. "I can't believe he cried." "She showed true kindness and cheered up the dragon, even if he hurt us," added Twilight. "And remember how she went in for Big Macintosh for the Ponytones even though she was scared?" asked Rarity. She looked down at the table, tracing her hoof over the pattern. "It was funny how low her voice was!" said Pinkie. She had a small smile on her face. Discord bit his lip. There was only so much he could take. "Discord, are ya alright?" asked Applejack. "Ah mean, yer very quiet for, well, you." "My wife and true love just died, what do you think?" asked Discord, resting his chin on his paw. "Ah'm sorry 'bout that, but ya need to get over 'er," said Applejack. "Ah know you love her, like Ah do Spike, but she wouldn't want ya to grieve over 'er. Fluttershy would want you to be happy." "You can't read her mind!" Discord spat, slamming his fist onto the table. "Ah knew 'er well enough to know what she would want!" Applejack retorted. She took in a deep breath. "Ah know it's too soon for ya to get over Fluttershy and her... Passing, but ya can enjoy yourself at the very least. It's what she would have wanted." "You're right," said Discord glumly. Applejack gave Discord a small smile, and gave him a small pat on the back. "Discord, would you like anything to eat at least?" asked Twilight. "Nah, I have my cotton candy," said Discord, summoning a bunch of it. Pinkie held her hoof out. "Give me some cotton candy, and nopony gets hurt," said Pinkie. Discord chuckled, before giving her a stick of it, which she ate in less than a second. "The color reminds me of Fluttershy's mane," said Discord, sighing. He looked at the stick of cotton candy in his paw. "Who would've known she had a secret addiction to it?" "She did?" asked Twilight. She laughed. "Now that's something funny." "She had a small compartment full of stuff to make it," said Discord. "We were dating for three months and I went to look around for what she had, and I found her secret stash." "Oooh! What flavors were there?" asked Pinkie. "Blueberry? Strawberry? Banana?!" "And much more," Discord replied, a smile cracking on his lips. "A lady even has some strange desires," said Rarity, slightly blushing. "I'm pretty sure you all know it, but I simply can't get enough ice cream." Discord snickered. "And Ah have an addiction to eating apples," said Applejack. "Ah mean, they're so crunchy and taste good." "Of course you have an addiction to apples," said Discord, rolling his eyes. Applejack scoffed. "And Ah suppose yer addicted to chocolate milk?" asked Applejack. "Guilty," Discord summoned a cup of chocolate milk, drinking out of it casually. The others snickered. "And we can all agree Twilight has an addiction to reading books," Rarity added. "Hey! It's a healthy addiction," pouted Twilight, crossing her hooves. "Sure it is," said Discord. "Until you get locked into a library for days, isolated from the world." The others snickered again. They continued talking for a few hours, until it was starting to get dark. They parted ways. Discord, again, felt his heart shatter. Now alone, all he could think about was his time with Fluttershy. All the times he made a joke, and her soft laughter making his mind fill with happiness. The times they kissed, and the satisfaction that Fluttershy was his. Discord sighed, flashing home. Apparently the animals knew what happened, because they were silent, and didn't move, as if to be grieving. Discord walked to his room for once, looking around at many pictures on the wall of Fluttershy and his memories with her. He stopped at one, which was his and Fluttershy's wedding. Fluttershy wore a radiant gown, which was the purest white. Her mane had many teal lilies in it, the mane brushed to one side. She had a silver tiara, along with a necklace with a sparkling diamond and golden band. Discord himself was in a tux that was actually nice on him. It was black, with the traditional white shirt underneath, with red cuffs the exact shade of his eyes. His bowtie was blue. He and Fluttershy were in a dance pose, holding hoof in paw or claw, as Discord held her forever in a dip position, looking deep into her eyes, looking happier than anypony had ever seen him before. Discord smiled, and then left to his room. He laid down on the bed, his heart giving a pang of loneliness as he realized for the first time in years, he was going to be alone. He clung to the pillow at the other side of the bed that carried the scent of Fluttershy's mane. It smelled of roses, lilies, and many more flowers Discord couldn't name. He quickly fell asleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 A couple of days later... The familiar ringing of the alarm that woke Fluttershy up filled Discord's ears. It was 6 am, and it was time for her to feed the animals. Discord instinctively reached out his paw to stop Fluttershy from getting up. "Could you please-" Discord's eyes snapped open as he was met with empty air. Discord sighed, the familiar sadness filling him. He groaned, rolling to the other side of the bed and took in the stale scent of roses. Discord's eyes blankly stared at the picture he had moved to the table beside the bed of the wedding day of Discord and Fluttershy. It was a great day. Discord remembered the moment of being completely awestruck when Fluttershy came down the aisle, her eyes only on him, as was his on her. He remembered the kiss that made their marriage official, and then their first dance, when the picture was taken. Fluttershy felt so right in his arms as he had twirled her around. Dishrag, you alright? asked Spirit with the trademark nickname Angel gave him all those years ago. Discord smiled as he remembered how Fluttershy used to scold Angel for that. "Yeah, yeah, just got caught up for a moment," said Discord, waving his paw. Well then, hurry up! I'm hungry. Spirit turned around, hopping to who knows where. Discord groaned, rolling his eyes. Of course Spirit is rude like Angel. Discord rose from the bed, and stretched. He snapped his talons, appearing in the living room. "Howdy, Discord!" said a voice, which wasn't super happy. Discord screeched, immediately summoning a pie to throw in the intruder's face. "Woah, it's just me, Applejack!" Discord scowled. "Why did you just barge in here?" asked Discord. "Sorry, Ah'm just used to be allowed in," said Applejack, looking to the ground. Discord rolled his eyes. "Well, what are you even here for?" Discord looked away. "They're releasing Fluttershy's body from the hospital," said Applejack. "And Pinkie's planned Fluttershy's funeral. It's in a few hours." "Not interested," said Discord, his back to Applejack. "Look, just a couple of days ago you were able to talk with us," said Applejack, narrowing her eyes. "Yeah, but I don't want to see my dead wife's body!" Discord snapped, whipping around, his pupils glowing a bright red. "You think I want to relive the pain of her loss?" "Ya need to stop being so Celestia damned stupid, Discord! Stayin' cooped up in this here cottage won't do you any good. Ah know what it's like to lose someone, if ya remember Granny Smith, and it helps to say goodbye properly at a funeral." Discord was silent. A few moments passed, before Discord sighed. "Fine, I'll go..." "Ah'll see ya in a few hours... It's at 2 pm, alrigh'?" "Alright," Discord looked at the ground. Applejack walked to the door, quietly letting herself out. Discord fed the animals with the snap of his talons, and then decided to get ready. He got an invitation to the funeral, which would be held on Sweet Apple Acres. Discord was to be a speaker. Discord normally was confident about these sort of things, but this time he wasn't so sure. He didn't know if he was ready for this. Discord snapped on a pure black suit, with a grey undershirt. He adjusted his even darker grey tie, and sighed. Now he was going to say goodbye for sure to Fluttershy. Soon enough, it was 1:50 pm, the time Discord decided to head out to Sweet Apple Acres. Sure, he could teleport, but he wanted to be a bit early to prepare for his little speech. He was going to have to wing it. With the snap of his talons, he was at the gazebo. Rarity, Twilight, Applejack, and Pinkie were the only ones so far. "Who's coming?" asked Discord, walking up to Pinkie. Pinkie's mane had gone flat, her fur a shade darker. "Oh, everyone here, and then the CMC, and her only living relative, Zephyr Breeze," said Pinkie. She sighed. "Fluttershy would've only wanted the ponies closest to her." Soon enough, a teal pegasus stallion with a blonde arrived, as did the CMC. The CMC established an Equestria-wide program to help ponies figure out their special talent. They were fully grown. Discord even admired their work. Apparently, the teal stallion was successful because of Fluttershy, and he was now a manager of a hair salon. Twilight slowly walked to the front, and Discord took his seat in the rows of chairs. He took his time to look around. Lilies, in the colors pastel pink, buttercream yellow, and white, were placed in vases around. At the front was a wooden casket, closed, and Discord's heart gave a pang. "Hello, ladies and gentlecolts," said Twilight, clearing her throat. "We're here for the passing of Fluttershy Draconequus. She was very kind, and was always there for everypony when they were in need of comfort. Discord, would you like to come up here?" Discord looked down at the ground, before rising and going to the front. "Hello, everyone," said Discord. He looked away for a moment. "Fluttershy was my wife, as all of you knew. She was my first friend, and loved me. That's a lot considering what a pain I am." He chuckled to himself. "Fluttershy was one heck of a mare. She saved us all, multiple times, from others, issues, and even ourselves. Fluttershy would drop everything she needed to do just to help one of us. She was my wife, and was always there to listen to me." Discord let a tear fall down his cheek. The ponies started crying. Discord took it as his cue to sit down. "Now, you can say your goodbyes," said Twilight, sniffing. The ponies were slow to go up, and Discord was the last. Discord watched as his friends cried, smiling down at the now open casket. Discord couldn't see her from where he sat, and he could barely manage to just look in its direction. "Discord?" called Twilight. She looked in his direction, her eyes bloodshot. "It's your turn." Discord sighed, and stood up. He slowly walked up to the casket, and looked inside. His heart broke. Fluttershy wore an elegant soft pink dress. Her white mane was groomed to perfection, and her eyes were closed, a peaceful smile on her lips. She looked as if she were sleeping. If only reality were that. Fluttershy's hooves were placed over a bouquet of flowers of many colors, giving a chaos vibe, making Discord smile slightly. "My dear, you were the best thing that has happened to me in a thousand years," said Discord. "You were so kind, so beautiful. You... You... I CAN'T!" Discord dropped to his knees. He started sobbing. "I CAN'T GO ON WITHOUT YOU, FLUTTERSHY!" Applejack and Twilight rushed to Discord's side. "Ah know it hurts, we all know," said Applejack. "Don't worry, Discord, we're here for you," Twilight soothed, giving Discord a hug with her wing. Discord sobbed. Author's Note ... (spoiler) ... Discord will be... Nevermind, you need no spoilers :D //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 22 years later... The alarm rang, and Discord groaned. He sat up, and hit the alarm clock, shutting it off. Dishrag! We're hungry. said Phantom. Discord rolled his eyes. "You can wait," said Discord. "Besides, my legs aren't awake." Little Zs appeared around his legs. Phantom rolled his eyes, and hopped away. The past twenty two years haven't been easy. For starters, Spirit died, but after the fact he had kits with another rabbit. Phantom was the kit of Spirit that stayed. He was a grey rabbit with darker gray splotches. Spirit was the last animal alive that remembered Fluttershy, so it was sad that Discord couldn't talk about her with anypony when he was home. Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie passed away. The first was Applejack when she stubbornly refused to stop working on the farm. She put too much pressure on herself during Zap Apple Season, and had a heart attack. Rarity died one day in her sleep, right after she was named the best fashionista in Equestria. Pinkie decided to eat ten whole cakes at once, and her body couldn't take it. She died from too much sugar. Twilight was alive, since she was an alicorn. And little Spike wasn't so little. When his wife, Applejack, passed away, he started working for Princess Twilight full time. He was about the height of Discord, and had his own pair of wings. He often flew to the Dragonlands and delivered messages. Discord and Twilight spoke often. They spoke of their time with their friends, and Twilight managed to be happy, making new friends. Of course she missed her old ones, but she got over the pain of their loss. Discord was still hurt by Fluttershy's death, but was able to manage. Phantom came back into the room, pounding his foot on the ground. "Sheesh, I'm coming!" said Discord, rolling his eyes. He stretched, and rose from the bed. As usual, he looked at the wedding picture, and smiled sadly. He snapped his talons, and appeared downstairs. A lot of animals gathered around him, ready for the usual routine. Discord snapped his talons, and bowls, plates, and mounds of nuts and berries appeared. They spun around like a tornado, making Discord happy with its chaos. The bowls and plates were set in front of each animal, filling with the nuts and berries. Discord snapped his paw, and the bird feeders filled with seeds of many different flavors that the bird liked. Discord rubbed his paw and claw together. He kicked back, floating midair. He watched the ceiling for a moment. Suddenly, there was a flash of green light. Discord was startled, making his magic fail and he fell to the floor. He looked up, and saw a scroll, which was floating. A letter from Twilight. Discord groaned, and took it. He opened it. Dear Discord, I'm sorry for having to bother you. But, there is somepony I'd like you to meet in the castle. You will get along with her very well. I'd say by the end you will be talking to her like you knew her. Your friend, Twilight Sparkle 'Her'? Discord raised an eyebrow in interest. Surely Twilight wasn't trying to make him find new love, right? His heart still belonged to Fluttershy, as it always will. Discord sighed, and snapped his talons. He appeared in front of the Castle of Friendship. The castle stood high, sparkling gloriously. Discord snapped his talons again, and appeared in the library. He teleported right in front of Twilight, who screeched out in alarm. "HEY FRIEND!" screamed Discord, and Twilight threw a book at his head. Discord held his paw to the part of the head where the book hit. "Ow..." "Discord, don't do things like that!" snapped Twilight. "Sometimes I just want to..." She groaned, and rolled her eyes. "So, who's this friend you want me to meet?" asked Discord. A small squeak sounded from behind him. Discord's ears perked up, knowing who it had belonged to. He turned around, and saw an earth pony mare. Her coat was the familiar pale yellow, and her mane was rose pink. She had the familiar shy expression on her face. Her cutie mark was three pink flowers. "F-Fluttershy..?" Discord muttered under his breath. It had to be her. Sure, she The mare met his eyes. Discord's heart fell as he noticed they were emerald, not the comforting turquoise Discord was used to. But, then he noticed they were filled with the same kindness and compassion Fluttershy's always were. "Discord, this is Posey. Posey, this is Discord," said Twilight. She grinned. Posey cowered, looking away. Discord fell on all fours, trying not to be intimidating. "It's nice to meet you," said Discord calmly. He snapped his talons, and in his eagle claw was a spool of cotton candy. Fluttershy's favorite. Discord saw Twilight raise an eyebrow and smirk. She obviously knew what Discord was doing. "Want it?" He held the cotton candy out to Posey. She smiled, and took it. "T-Thanks, Mr. Discord," said Posey. She took a small bite out of it, and smiled. "This is my favorite." "No 'Mr' nonsense," said Discord, waving his paw dismissively. "Just call me Discord." "A-Alright, Discord," said Posey. She gave him a small, sweet smile. "I hope we can become great friends. I just moved from Baltimare to here." "Do you have a place to stay?" asked Discord. "She's staying here for the night," said Twilight. "And tomorrow she's going to look for a place to stay." "Posey can always stay in my place," said Discord hopefully. "Um, Discord, that sounds nice," said Posey. She stood up taller. "That's a great idea," said Twilight. She met Discord's eyes. "Posey, may you go out in the hallway? I have something to talk to Discord about." Posey nodded, and walked out of the room. When the door shut, Twilight giggled. "Did you put the puzzle pieces together?" "Posey is Fluttershy," said Discord bluntly. Twilight giggled harder. "I knew this was going to happen," said Twilight. "In a book I read, some ponies will be reincarnated. This is due to a spell. The kindest of ponies will be given infinite lives, and they won't be able to remember, unless they experience true love." "Well, don't we have true love?" asked Discord. "No," said Twilight, her eyes narrowing. "W-Wha?" "Let me finish," said Twilight. "Since she doesn't remember you, the love is one-sided. You have to make her fall in love with you all over again. Or, she has to fall for someone else." Discord's heart shattered. "I-If she falls in love with someone else, and remembers, do you think she'll stay with them?" asked Discord. "Probably," Twilight replied, her eyes filled with pity. Discord looked at the ground. "Then I'll give it everything I have," said Discord. "I can't lose her." He had another chance to love Fluttershy. He wouldn't waste it. Author's Note Sorry I haven't updated in a couple of weeks. Writing takes time, y'know? Especially when you like youtube and Wattpad.... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 A dark figure stood on a hill by the outskirts of Ponyville. His unsettling violet eyes scanned the town, a smirk on his face. Finally, he found the place where the pony that intrigued him lived. The light from the rising sun shone through the window, giving a comforting light. Usually, nopony would be up this early, except for the Apple Family, run by Applebloom and Tender Taps. But, Discord was awake. He was rushing around the cottage, picking up every thing that was out of place, sweeping every speck of dirt on the ground. He frantically flew around, making everything perfect. Suddenly, he stopped and chuckled to himself. Fluttershy used to do the same thing for him, whenever he used to come over for Tuesday Tea. He smiled at the brief memory. There was a knock on the door, and Discord walked over to it. He opened it, and emerald eyes met his, filled with shyness and glee. "Hello, Discord," said Posey. She smiled. "I can't thank you enough for letting me stay here, until I find a place." Discord nearly winced at the second part of her sentence. Though she had a new life, Posey was still the same as her previous life. Discord couldn't lose her again. Especially to another stallion. What if she remembered, and didn't love Discord anymore? "Hello, my dear," said Discord. Posey's cheeks were momentarily pink, and Discord moved to the side. "Please, come in." Posey dragged in a fairly sized bag, filled with items. Phantom hopped up to Posey, and sniffed. You smell and look exactly how Grandfather Angel described Fluttershy, minus the wings, cutie mark, and eye color, said Phantom. Posey dropped the strap of the bag, and squeaked. "I-I, he c-can, I mean..." Posey took in a deep breath. "I understood him!" Discord's eyes lit up. "Really?!" exclaimed Discord. He gave a small cheer. "That's great!" "Why?" asked Posey. Discord's ears flattened on the back of his head. "No reason," he said quickly. Posey raised an eyebrow. "I know you're lying," said Posey, in the same tone Fluttershy used when she was about to give Discord a lecture. "And how would you know that?" asked Discord. Posey's eyes widened. "I-I just have this feeling," said Posey. "I-I'm sorry. I'll just be quiet." "It's alright, my dear," said Discord. Posey turned slightly pink. "Well, where can I stay?" asked Posey. She picked back up her back with her teeth. Discord snapped his talons, and teleported her and himself to his bedroom, which had a fresh blanket. The blanket was emerald, and had small pink flowers covering it. A white, fluffy pillow sat by the edge of the bed. "Here," said Discord. He smirked down at Posey, who had her mouth covered with her hoof. "Is.. Is this where I'm staying?" asked Posey. "This must be your room." "I'm staying on the couch," said Discord. "Oh no, I will," said Posey. "I insist," Discord held up his paw. "No guest of mine will be sleeping on the couch. Plus, it's quite comfortable to me." "If you say so," said Posey. She set her bag on the ground next to the bed, and got on top of the bed. "It's really soft! Thank you, Discord." Discord felt his cheeks heat up. If only Posey remembered her past life, which obviously didn't happen. Discord smiled. "I'm glad you like it," said Discord, though his mind was on how he was going to make her fall in love with him again. "Um, Discord, I'm going to walk around Ponyville," said Posey. "I want to see what it's like." Discord snapped out of his thoughts, and frowned. "Should I come with you?" asked Discord. "Oh no, I'm fine," said Fluttershy, flashing Discord a smile. "You've been too kind. Plus, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I want to figure out the town on my own." She hid behind her mane. Discord brushed her bangs out of Posey's face, causing her to squeak. The buttercream mare looked up, her face red. "Enjoy the town," said Discord. Posey turned even more red, and smiled. "Thank you," said Posey. "I'll be back soon." Posey couldn't put her hoof on it. Usually, she was shy when it came to meeting ponies. Even talking to ones she knew was a problem sometimes. But, Posey didn't have any issues talking to Discord. She had felt surprisingly comfortable. As she walked through the town of Ponyville, she looked around the buildings. Ahead, a boutique stood above most of the other buildings, except the town hall. Posey felt drawn to it. Posey trotted over to the boutique, and went inside. There, she accidentally bumped into a fuchsia unicorn. "O-Oh! I-I'm sorry," said Posey quickly. The unicorn turned around, a bright smile on her face. "It's alright," said the unicorn. "My name is Red Rose." Rose's mane was the color of a red rose, of course. Her eyes were a bright teal, and sparkled with happiness and creativity. Posey smiled back. "M-My name is P-Posey," Posey replied. Her ears pricked up. "You look exactly like somepony named Fluttershy," Rose exclaimed. "She was the Element of Kindness! Are you related?" The name sounded familiar to Posey, but she didn't know why. "I'm not related to her," said Posey. "Though, I haven't heard of her. I thought the Elements of Harmony were used by Princess Twilight." "Oh," said Rose, her ears slightly falling. "It would be cool if you were. Not that you're not cool as you are!" Posey giggled. "I get it," said Posey, waving her hoof dismissively. "Have you met Discord?" asked Rose. Posey's ears pricked up. "Oh, yes, and he's letting me stay with him until I have enough bits to get my own home," Posey replied. Rose chuckled. "I figured," said Rose. "Huh?" Posey tilted her head in confusion. "You look like Fluttershy, so Discord would of course be a bit sweet to you," said Rose. "After all, Fluttershy was his wife until she died." Posey gasped. "Oh, the poor thing," said Posey, looking down at the ground. Rose sighed. "I know. But, FlutterCord will still last forever," said Rose. She giggled at Posey's expression. "FlutterCord is their ship name. Well, I have to go, because my shift here starts in five minutes." She trotted away, flashing Posey a smile. Posey walked out of the boutique, and bumped into a stallion. He had a light orange coat, his mane filled with yellow, orange, and red. It looked like a fire. He was a unicorn. Posey blushed, and mentally scolded herself for bumping into two ponies in one day. "O-Oh, e-excuse me," said Posey. She looked up, and was met with brilliant blue eyes. "It's alright," said the stallion. Posey had an unsettling feeling in her stomach. "My name's Fire Wheel." "P-Posey," Posey replied. "I'm sorry for bumping into you." She ducked her head, and started to walk away. "Wait! Do you want to go grab some lunch?" asked Fire. Posey shook her head, despite her stomach grumbling. Posey didn't have a good feeling about Fire Wheel. "No thanks, I really should be getting home," said Posey. She blushed slightly, noticing that she really felt like the cottage was her home. "I insist," said Fire. Posey narrowed her eyes. "I can't, I'm very busy tonight, um, I'm sorry," said Posey. She walked away quickly, with Fire not calling for her. Author's Note Red Rose is my good friend @redrose99875. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 Posey opened the door to the cottage, and looked around. She was glad Fire Wheel hadn't tried to say anything else. Posey felt bad for having to decline his offer, but she wasn't comfortable. She suddenly realized the house was awfully quiet. There was no trace of any chaos, which was strange, considering who was living here. Posey looked around for Discord, who seemed to have completely vanished. "Discord?" called Posey. She walked into the kitchen, which looked like it hadn't been used in years, with the large mess and dust covering everything. Posey coughed as some dust entered her nostrils. She left the kitchen, not wanting more dust to attack her. A chuckle sounded from above Posey. Posey squeaked, and jumped, running out of the room. Before she could reach the door, Discord swung down from his place on the ceiling, booping Posey on the nose with his own. Posey blushed. "Hello, my dear, have a nice search?" asked Discord, still upside down. Posey gave Discord a bemused glare. "That wasn't funny," said Posey. Discord laughed. "Of course it was! That squeak was adorable," Discord insisted. Posey narrowed her eyes, tapping one hoof on the ground. Discord's eyes widened, and he grimaced as he waited for the lecture. Suddenly, Discord realized this was the same thing Fluttershy did. "Discord, you know you shouldn't do things to other ponies that isn't nice," said Posey. She narrowed her eyes. "You shouldn't laugh about somepony else being upset or scared." "You are exactly like Fluttershy," Discord blurted out. Posey dropped her angry stare, which was quickly replaced with a surprised one. "What?" asked Posey. Discord took in a deep breath. No need hiding who she used to be, though Discord wouldn't tell her she was, in fact, Fluttershy. "Fluttershy was a kind, caring pony, much like you," started Discord. Posey flushed pink, causing him to smirk. "And whenever I did something slightly bad, she would tap her hoof on the ground and gave me this glare like you did. And she started to lecture me, using my name as the first word, like you did." Posey was bright red. "Do I remind you of her so much?" asked Posey. She hid behind her mane. "Yes," said Discord, smiling. But, Posey looked a bit distant. "I-I think I should go to my room," said Posey. She looked down at the ground, and walked away. Discord frowned. "Are you alright, my dear?" asked Discord. Posey stopped, and turned her head. "Oh, just a little tired," Posey replied, not meeting his eyes. Discord knew she was lying. Did he say something to upset her? He sighed, and plopped down on the couch. Discord closed his eyes. They snapped right back open when he realized something. He was falling back in love with his Fluttershy. Posey didn't know what to think. She reminded Discord of his deceased wife, and Posey felt horrible. Discord must be so upset, having to think about how much he loved Fluttershy. For some reason, Posey felt a little twinge in her heart when she thought about Discord loving another mare so much. Posey shook her head. She needed some rest to clear her mind. Posey flopped on the bed, and her eyes caught onto one picture hanging on the wall. It was on somepony who looked awfully like her holding Discord's paw. They were both smiling, their eyes locked. That was Fluttershy, huh? Posey understood why she reminded Discord of Fluttershy. They certainly looked alike. Posey frowned, only feeling worse, and put a pillow over her head. Fire Wheel couldn't believe it. The mare he had found attractive pretty much rejected him. Fire paced outside of Ponyville, beside the Everfree. "Am I not hot enough?" asked Fire aloud. "Am I not cool enough? Why didn't she fall on her hooves when I asked her to lunch?" "Having problems?" asked a cold voice. Fire's ears perked up, and he jumped. "W-Who's there?!" shouted Fire, his eyes darting back and forth. "Oh, don't mind me, I'm just someone passing by," said the voice. Out of the shadows, two violet eyes glowed. "Mind to tell me of your problems?" Fire huffed. He needed to rant to someone. "Well, there is this really hot mare, and when I asked her to lunch, she rejected me!" Fire shouted. "I don't know why, because she appeared not to have a coltfriend. Also, I'm smoking hot, and every mare I was interested in before me practically begged me to take them out to lunch and love them." "Sounds like quite the dilemma," said the violet-eyed pony. "Say, who is this pony, and what does she look like?" "Posey," said Fire, his eyes softening. "She has the brightest green eyes, soft fur the color of the sunset, and a flowing pink mane..." "Oh, I know who that is," said the pony, its voice intrigued. "She is very close to Discord... Maybe he is what stands in your way." "That ugly beast?!" exclaimed Fire, appalled. That was his competition? Fire had seen Discord. No mare in their right mind would be attracted to him. Surely, Fire was the better pick. Maybe Posey could use a little push to see that. "Maybe I can help you," said the pony. Fire tilted his head. "I can get you what you want." Fire liked what he was hearing. "What's the catch?" asked Fire. He started walking to the shadow, completely willing to do anything just to bed this mare. "Oh, just a little favor..." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 Posey has been inside the room for hours. HOURS. Discord was worried. He paced back and forth, wondering what was wrong. Usually, Posey would be in the room for a half an hour, then would come back out to chat with Discord. Discord swore every now and then he could hear a small sob. Each time he heard the sob, he had teleported to the door, and was prepared to knock. But, he always stopped for some reason. Suddenly, there was loud sobbing. It wasn't once. It was continuous. Discord teleported inside of Posey's room, and looked down on the pitiful mass of blankets. "Posey?" said Discord. The sobbing immediately stopped, and Posey looked out of the covers. She sniffled. "O-Oh. H-Hello, Discord," said Posey, forcing a smile. "What's wrong?" asked Discord. "N-Nothing," said Posey. She made her smile wider to convince Discord. Discord didn't buy it. "I don't think you would sob over 'nothing'," said Discord, crossing his arms. "Tell me what's wrong." Posey sighed, tears starting to leak from her eyes. "W-Well, you told me that I reminded you of Fluttershy," Posey cried. "And I realized how much pain I was bringing you." Discord took a moment to process what he heard, when he burst out laughing. "My dear, that is hardly a reason to be upset!" Discord exclaimed. "In fact, you helped the pain go away! I'm so happy you're here!" Posey beamed. "Thank you, Discord," she replied, her voice a happier tone. "So, uh, want to have a picnic at 6?" asked Discord. "To get to know each other better?" Discord tapped his talons and paw tips together nervously. "I would love to, Discord," Posey replied, her cheeks starting to turn a rosy pink. Discord glanced at the clock. It was 12 right now, so he had a lot of time to prepare. Posey was very happy. She was going to be able to hang out with Discord. But, she had to wait six hours. Usually she was a patient pony, but something about Discord made her giddy. Because of her excitement, Posey decided to go downtown and meet Red Rose to pass the time. Posey saw Sugar Cube Corner, where Red had told her about. “C’mon, Posey, this place has the best sweets in the world!” Red exclaimed. She picked up her walking pace to a trot, and Posey struggled to keep up. “W-Wait for me!” Posey called. Red went into the store, and Posey followed. Inside, a sweet aroma of frosting and freshly baked cake entered her nostrils. Posey sighed in bliss. “Hello, welcome to Sugar Cube Corner, what would you like?” asked an unicorn mare with light yellow fur, and golden orange hair. “Hey Pumpkin Cake!” Red replied, giving her hoof a wave. “We would like one apple pie and two slices of chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.” Posey’s mouth watered. “I love buttercream,” Posey said. Red chuckled. “I figured you were the buttercream type,” Red giggled. Pumpkin flashed Posey a smile, and walked between the two doors that led to a kitchen. Red beckoned for Posey to follow her to a table. Posey sat down, and took in the place. It was amazing, with candy theme layout and furniture, suiting the sweet shop. Her eyes locked onto one portrait. She recognized Pumpkin Cake as a baby, along with a pegasus baby next to her with pale brown fur, and chocolate brown hair. Holding them was a pink mare with poofy hair. Her eyes were bubbly blue, and shone with excitement and boundless energy. Pinkie Pie. Posey squeaked as she thought the name, wondering why the name was so familiar. Red waved a hoof in her face. “Equestria to Posey,” called Red Rose. Posey’s attention snapped back into reality. “O-Oh! Sorry,” Posey apologized quickly. “The pink pony in the picture looked familiar.” Red looked at the portrait, her eyes wide. “You mean Pinkie Pie?” she asked. The name Posey had thought about was right. “Strange. That’s what I thought her name was,” Posey murmured. “Well, she was the Element of Laughter,” Posey explained. “You probably recognize her because she was a pretty famous mare. Everypony’s heard of her, even though she passed away before we were born.” “I feel like there’s more to it,” Posey said. Then, Pumpkin Cake came to their table, along with the older version of the light brown pegasus baby. He held the two plates with both of his hooves, flapping his wings. “My name is Pound Cake,” said Pound. Red blushed slightly, sighing. Pound glanced at Red, turning slightly red. He set down the cakes quickly, and flew away. Pumpkin giggled, and set down the pie, and gave Posey and Red a fork and knife. “He really has a crush on you, y’know,” said Pumpkin. She giggled. “And you seem to have a crush on him,” Posey added, smirking. “And how would you know?” Red asked, narrowing her eyes playfully. “Well, I have always seen the signs in my friends,” said Posey. “Rarity taught me.” She smiled. Red’s eyes widened, along with Pumpkin’s. “But Rarity’s been dead for a long time!” exclaimed Pumpkin. “How could you have spoken to her?” “She’s been dead longer than you’ve been alive,” added Red. Posey’s ears flattened on her head. “W-Wow, I don’t know why I said that,” Posey admitted. A hazy memory entered her mind. ”Darling, you simply must try this new hooficure with me,” said a white unicorn. Posey giggled, and nodded. “If you insist, Rarity” she said softly. Rarity smiled softly. She turned to a pink mare with a blue mane. “Got it,” said the mare, giving Rarity a wink. She walked away behind a counter, presumably to get the supplies needed. Rarity turned back to Posey. “Fluttershy, dear, your coat absolutely shimmers in such a divine way,” Rarity said, scanning Posey over. “You must tell me your secret.” “I use all natural products,” Posey replied, smiling. “Anyway, thank you for bringing me out. I don’t, um, mean any harm to them, but the animals can be a bit troublesome.” Rarity laughed. “Yes, I knew you needed a getaway,” said Rarity. Posey snapped back to reality. Red was eating her slice of cake, smiling. Posey shook her head, and went to eat until one thought struck her mind. That memory was new, and it certainly didn’t happen to her. Posey was confused. She became more perplexed when she realized something else. The white unicorn, or Rarity, called her Fluttershy. Author's Note (sorry redrose, I made you crush on Pound Cake :P) Well, sorry I haven’t posted a new chapter in nearly a month. I’ve been so busy! Now that it’s summer, I will be able to publish more chapters. Probably 2-4 a month. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 9 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 9 Light cracked through the window and shone upon Posey's face. She yawned as her eyes fluttered open. She smiled, wondering if she could do anything with Discord. Posey frowned when she remembered she had plans. She had to go out with Fire Wheel for lunch later that day. She knew it was rude to think like how she was, but she couldn't help it. She didn't like the idea of going on a date with a stallion, though she didn't know why. She trotted downstairs and saw that Discord was still fast asleep on the couch. Fluttershy sighed. "Discord, it's morning," Posey stated. "Jus... five more minutes," Discord muttered deliriously. Posey rolled her eyes and walked out into the kitchen. If he was going to sleep in, she had to at least make some breakfast so she wouldn't go hungry. Posey opened the pantry and saw oats on the top shelf. She leant upwards and found she couldn't reach them. She huffed and tried again. "Looks like you're having a problem," Discord said, appearing next to her with a smirk. Posey didn't flinch at his sudden appearance. It seemed normal, even though she's only known him for a little while. "I can't reach all the way up there," Posey admitted. "Could you, um, get the oats for me?" She hid behind her mane. "Of course, my dear," Discord replied, his voice sweet. Posey's face flushed pink and she stared at the draconequus as he grabbed the oats with ease. She didn't understand why, but she felt so comfortable around Discord. He was kind and sweet to her and even with the short time she knew him, she felt like he was an old friend. It felt like she could talk to him about anything. "Staring isn't polite." Discord raised a bushy eyebrow at Posey. Posey's face flushed an even darker shade of pink. "O-Oh! I-I didn't realize I was staring," Posey stammered, tapping her hooves together nervously. "It's alright, we both know I'm a sight to behold," replied Discord as he struck a pose. Posey giggled. Discord smiled down at her, a warm feeling in his chest. "Would you like anything with your oats?" "You don't have to do anything for me," Posey said quietly, a small smile rested on her lips. "But I want to do something for you," Discord said. "Oh, then I would love some toast," Posey replied. Discord snapped his talons and two slices of toast appeared on a plate, sprinkled with powdered sugar and banana slices. Posey smiled at the plate. "It looks amazing, Discord." "Now eat up, I don't want my favorite pegasus to go hungry." Discord teleported them out into the living room. Posey thought about Discord's words and smiled to herself. She was his favorite? Discord summoned an apple and set it next to Posey's plate. "Maybe you would be interested in an apple? An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and we wouldn't want you to get sick." Posey nodded. Suddenly, she blanked out. "Fluttershy, Ah insist ya take some apples home with ya," Applejack said, leaning on a barrel of apple cider. Posey looked around, noticing she was on a farm with acres of green trees growing apples. "I'd feel awful if I took apples without paying for them," Posey said, surprised that she had started speaking. "Ah'm givin' them to ya as a gift," Applejack replied. Posey didn't know how she knew this pony and her name, but she was interested. "After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I wouldn't want ya to get sick, and apples have vitamins that prevent ya from gettin' sick." "You're so sweet," Posey replied. Applejack handed her a basket of shiny, red apples. Posey was about to ask how does she know Applejack, but the vision ended. "Posey?" Discord waved a paw in front of her face, his face full of concern. "What? Oh, um, sorry," Posey muttered. "I was just thinking about something." "What were you thinking about?" questioned Discord. "Oh, I remembered somepony, but I don't know when I met her," Fluttershy replied. Discord's eyes lit up. Discord remembered what Twilight told him. Posey would slowly remember her past life after she started to fall in love. Did this mean Posey was falling in love with Discord again? Discord felt like he could do backflips in the air, but managed to keep calm. "What does she look like?" Discord asked, making sure his suspicions were correct. "She was an orange earth mare with a blonde mane tied with a red ribbon," Posey described, her eyes narrowed as she thought. "She was a country mare and had a thick accent. She never said her name, but somehow I know it's Applejack." "That would be one of Fluttershy's old friends," Discord announced. Posey's eyes widened in shock. "R-Really? How do I remember her?" Posey asked. "I do not know, but don't fret," Discord assured. "Maybe you were just thinking about a story you heard about her." Posey nodded as she relaxed. "That could be it," Posey agreed. "So, do you have any plans today?" Discord asked, trying to change the conversation. Posey winced. "I have lunch with a nice stallion I met yesterday," Posey replied. "Oh? Do you now?" Discord bit his lip. He couldn't deny it. He was jealous. But he wanted to know as much as possible about this date. "Do you like him?" "Discord, I just met him yesterday!" Posey exclaimed, her face burning. "I couldn't possibly like him if I don't know anything about him!" Discord felt embarrassed. "S-Sorry, I didn't think about what I was about to say," Discord apologized. "It's okay." Posey took a deep breath. "Well, I better get ready. I wish to be this stallion's friend at the very least." She excused herself after she finished, and Discord mentally kicked himself for his stupidity. He bit his lip as he realized how worried he was. Maybe his thoughts were wrong earlier, and maybe she was falling for this other stallion. Twilight had said that Posey would remember her past life if she fell in love with anypony. It didn't have to be him. Discord, for the first time in many years, felt a sense of pure jealousy. This stallion was not going to take the love of his life, no matter what. Discord smirked as a plan formed in his mind. Author's Note I haven't updated this story in a year! I'm going to update this more often now, but this story is a side project. My main project is another story of mine, "My Fair Fluttershy". But when I don't feel like working on that story, I'll work on this one since the chapters are smaller and less demanding. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8 Suddenly, Posey wasn't hungry anymore. She pushed her hoof on the table, pushing the chair back. "I'm sorry Red Rose, but I feel a bit sick," Posey said weakly. Red paused mid-bite of the pie, and looked to Posey with a worried expression. "Are you alright?" she asked, her voice genuinely concerned. Posey nodded. "I think I need a bit of rest," she said. She looked longingly to her untouched slice of cake, and took one bite, and started to exit the shop. "Do you want me to walk you home?" asked Red. "Oh, I wouldn't want to be a nuisance," Posey replied. "I think I will be fine." She gave Red a weak smile, and left. Posey's mind was running. Why was she starting to have memories, presumably lived by Fluttershy? Why were ponies pointing out things that Posey and Fluttershy had in common? And why was she starting to feel strange around Discord? Well, not a bad strange, but the kind of strange that makes her feel butterflies in her stomach and feel giddy. "Hello, Posey!" called a familiar voice. Posey turned around, and her heart dropped when she saw Fire Wheel. He was different though. His eyes were violet, but Posey didn't pay that much attention to them. "I, uh, have to apologize." "Huh?" "I was pushy the first time we met," Fire Wheel sighed. "I just wanted to make friends with you." "That was kind of the wrong way to go, not to offend you or anything," Posey replied. "I realized that after you left," Fire admitted. "Can we restart?" Posey nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Fire Wheel," Posey said, smiling and holding out her hoof. Fire Wheel grinned, and shook her hoof. "Do you wanna grab some lunch?" asked Fire. Posey's ears lay on the back of her head. "I'm sorry, but I'm going home because I'm starting to feel sick," Posey replied. "Maybe tomorrow. Just stop by the cottage." Fire nodded. "See you tomorrow, then!" He exclaimed with a chipper tone, before turning around and leaving. Posey had a soft smile on her face. Fire Wheel wasn't as bad as she thought. Discord paced back and forth in the garden. He needed a way to remind Posey of her past favorites as Fluttershy, but didn't want to make it so Posey was going to try completely new things. Discord didn't know what Posey liked, as the point of the picnic was to learn about each other. Well, Discord knew Fluttershy, but he didn't know how much she had changed as her new persona as Posey. He snapped his talons, making a pink and buttercream yellow picnic blanket. Maybe it was too forward. Posey would surely think Discord was very interested in her. So, he settled for the typical red and white checkers. As for the food, for a tinge of Discord, he summoned ginseng tea that actually sang, and Fluttershy's old favorite, carrot cake. But, he make the cake blue, with a banana on top of it. It surely would be surprising to taste the carrot in it. He heard sweet humming, and saw Posey walking to the door of the cottage. "Posey!" he called, waving his paw and claw, to get her attention. Posey turned to him, smiling. "Come over here, my dear." Discord cringed, realizing that what he said rhymed. How embarrassing. "Discord, this is very nice," said Posey, as her eyes scanned over the picnic blanket. "I'm glad you think so," Discord replied. He looked away, his face slightly pink. This was exactly like his first date with Fluttershy in her past life. "What flavor is the cake?" asked Posey, perplexed as she looked at the coloring. "Blueberry?" "Why don't you try it for yourself?" asked Discord, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "It might surprise you." Sure, it wasn't that chaotic, but it still would be funny to see Posey's reaction. Even though they only 'met' a few days ago, Discord's love was rekindled. He wanted to make Posey happy, and hoped the carrot flavoring would be to her delight. Discord snapped his talons, a slice of cake going onto a plate and in front of Posey. The insides were creamy yellow and soft pink. Discord blushed as he realized he didn't know he did that. "Oh, Discord, these are the same colors of my fur!" Posey exclaimed in delight. He took a bite, her face going into shock as she registered the flavor. "Carrot cake! My favorite, how did you know?" "Eh, an old friend liked it, so I wanted to see if you did, too," Discord replied, not meeting her eyes. Posey smiled, as he saw from the corner of his eye. He felt a smile grow on his face. "Can you tell me how you met Fluttershy?" asked Posey suddenly. Discord raised an eyebrow at her. "I-I just want to know more about her..." Discord gave her a small smirk as he felt a twinge of hope. Maybe she'd remember who she was. "It's kinda a long story," said Discord. "I'll listen," Posey said a bit too loudly and quickly, causing her to blush and hide behind her hair. "S-Sorry." "That was too cute," Discord purred. Posey turned an even deeper shade of pink. "So, it happened over 60 years ago, when a group of arguing fillies set me free, and Fluttershy and her friends were summoned to Canterlot. I remember even the first time I set my eyes on her, she was perfect. But back then, I didn't appreciate that. I wanted to corrupt her beauty and make her imperfect, like me." He sighed sadly. Posey startled him by putting her hoof on his shoulder comfortingly, just like Fluttershy did, even with the same watery look in her eyes. Discord cleared his throat. "That was a regrettable time," he said. "And then when I managed to convince them all that the Elements of Harmony were in the Labyrinth, I tried to corrupt her. But every insult at any weakness she had, she turned it around like it was some kind of strength as long as she knew how to make it better. I found myself attracted to her, and I was afraid. I was afraid she was going to make me give up my thoughts on power, so I corrupted her quickly, making her a bully and completing my task. I never mentioned it to her, but I even had regretted it before I was reformed." He finished the story, and studied Posey's face as she took in all the information given to her. "Strangely enough, this story sounds familiar even though I never heard of it before," Posey whispered half to herself. Discord's ears perked up. "Oh?" he prodded. "Can you tell me how you were reformed?" she asked. Then, Posey yawned and Discord noticed the sun was going down. "Probably not today," said Discord, gesturing to the darkening sky. "Let's go inside. Goodnight, my dear." With that he teleported them both inside, and went to his room for the night, hoping that his Fluttershy will be back soon. Author's Note Sorry I've been gone so long. I've just been so busy for the last few months, but I'm sure I will get a chapter out every 2 weeks. Thanks for being patient! I've just gotten through my summer job and school started and I wanted to make sure I could do that before coming back to my hobby. I also got a boyfriend that I've been dating for two months so that takes time out of writing. And in a month I will be continuing my Hearth's Warming story!
