A new type of vampire
A good sleep...NOT
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“Why was he there,? Why was he there?” Dominic says while already pacing in the living room.
“I don’t know, but he shouldn’t have been able to get in without your notebook” Demetra says.
“Maybe he found one somewhere?” Valiant suggests.
“No, I keep them locked up in my stories only I have access.” Dominic answers, and stops pacing for a moment.
“What is it?” Demetra asks.
“I lost one in a-” Dominic starts.
“Maybe someone’s a traitor.” Collen proposes, interrupting Dominic.
“That could be.” Vinyl agrees.
“True, but who? Isn’t it just us three with the notebooks” Demetra said anxiously.
“No I keep many of them hidden around, some with characters I trust with my own life.” Dominic answers, uneasy.
“That means-” Collen starts.
“That one of my characters must have given it to him after he-” Dominic doesn’t finish, but opens a small book and flips through the pages. Very scared, he stops on one page.
“Where is he!?! No! Where is he!?!” Dominic screams and rapidly flips pages, until he sees the looks everyone has.
“This book tells me when a character is going to die or is dead, but it never just deletes them. Librarian is gone.” Dominic says grim
“What!?!” Collen yells.
“Who?” Demetra asks.
“Someone important.” Dominic says, then notices something. It looks metal and has a red eye.
“A beetle blade? I didn’t make that.” he says and walks over to it, but it disappears.
“Something is watching us.” Demetra says.
Dominic opens his hand, a blue fireball is encased in his palm. He turns sharp and extends his hand, a cone of blue fire escapes and the door that was there is disintegrated. Behind it is a gray version of the librarian, and she jumps at him, tackling him.
“Where is my family!?!” she yells. Dominic looks like he is on the verge of tears.
“THEY’RE DEAD!!!!!!! I KILLED THEM TO MAKE YOU!!!!!!!!” Dominic screams, “AND I CAN’T SEE YOU IN PAIN ANYMORE!!!” And with those words, Dominic stabs the Librarian in the stomach. The Librarian’s eyes are open with surprise, and Dominic leans to her ear and whispers,
“I’m sorry and I forgive you.” Librarian’s hue waivers and changes to normal. She has a tear in her eye and she says,
“Thank you,” then Dominic touches the mare’s chest and she collapses dead. Dominic starts to cry and looks to Demetra.
“We need to have a ceremony.” he says through flowing tears.
Demetra only nods, a few tears forming. She knew how connected Dominic was to his ponies. Of course she knew, she was the editor.
“This is what she would’ve wanted.” Collen adds, “ I will fight through hell if I have to, just as long as I get revenge for her.”
“We will get revenge, I tell you that!” Dominic says and picks up the mare’s lifeless body.
“Why didn’t she turn to ink? Sorry, just curious.” Collen asks.
“I can enable and disable them turning into ink. I thought it would come in handy. I just never thought I would have to use it.” Dominic says and starts to cry again, “DAMN YOU LOGAN!!!!” Dominic yells at the ceiling. He walks to the door into the woods behind the house. Demetra and Collen follow, unponifying.
“Why are we going out here?” Collen asks.
“She doesn’t belong here, so I’m taking her where she does.” Dominic says and pulls out a key. He stabs the air, and turns his head to his friends,
“You can’t follow me. You belong here. I’ll be back,” Dominic says and opens a hole in the air, then disappears. Collen looks at Demetra and shrugs. They walk back to the house and reponify.
When they get back, Vinyl asks Collen,
“So, you got anyone special in your life?”
Collen gives a look and says, “Yeah, she’s a beautiful blonde.”
Vinyl looks disappointed, “That's too bad. I would have loved to suck you dry, then bite you.” she says playfully and giggles. She goes to the bathroom to take a shower, but she winks at Collen before she closes the door. Dominic walks in panting, and sits at the table.
“That was a very hard thing to do,” Dominic says. Some Chords by DeadMau5 plays in the background
“I’ll bet it was. Where'd you go?” Demetra asks.
“I went to dark days of time and buried her.” Dominic says, “Twilight asked what I was doing. I explained to her that she couldn’t tell anyone and she didn’t.”
“Oh. Okay.” Demetra nods. Dominic looks uneasy.
“My Brony, what's wrong?
“I don’t know what to do with this,” Dominic says and holds Librarian’s sonic screwdriver, “It’s funny, you know? I thought I didn’t want her to have this, but I finally decided to let her have it. Then this happens. I don’t know what to do, Demetra.” Dominic says and slumps on the table.
“Well, maybe you should just keep it… On your shelf! Hehe!” Demetra attempts to lighten the depressing mood, a mood she isn't the easiest to be in. Vinyl walks back into the room with a towel around her waist. She looks at Collen with a seductive look and flicks her tail in his direction when she walks to her room.
”Was...was she hitting on you?” Dominic asks
Collen gives him an angry look then says, “Yeah and it was weird. You’re the Author, NOW FIX IT!”
“I’ll fix it,” Demetra says and takes out a glowing notebook with her horn magic, “She’ll say this, then this, and then she’ll do that. Hmm, hmm, hmm.” Demetra finishes and Vinyl comes back out.
“Sorry about that Collen. I-I don’t know what got into me. I’m sorry.” she looks down at the floor, a little upset, and her bottom lip quivered a little.
“It’s okay, Vinyl.” Collen says to cheer her up.
“Really? Are you sure?” she asks, looking up.
“Yes.” Collen assures.
Dominic gets an idea, and holds up a fiery red notebook. He opens it and writes in it, and then something happens. A small star floats out of the notebook and Dominic takes a deep breath. He touches the star and instantly starts to scream, but he grips the star hard and starts to speak a language nobody can identify.
“Et animam meam pono, bibliothecarii!” Dominic says and, opens his hand, the star is gone, but a burn is in Dominic’s hand. Then the strangest thing happens, a reddish mare with a bun hairdo walks in the room.
“Hello? I-I have a question...who am I?” the mare says.
“LIBRARIAN, IT WORKED!!!!!!” Dominic yells and jumps to hugs the mare.
“Is that my name? Another question, am I a woman?” Librarian asks.
“Oh, it doesn’t matter. You’re you and that is what I care about.” Dominic says, and hugs the mare a little tighter. then puts her down.
“Dominic? Where have you been? You look taller.” Librarian says.
“Hahaha! Ok, Librarian, let’s take you to your room.” Dominic says and motions for Librarian to follow. She, or he, does follow him.
Collen and Demetra look at each other confused, surprised, and scared.
“She died. You can’t bring things back to life. A reincarnated corpse without a sacrifice is a demon’s playground.” Demetra says to Collen, concern and truth heavy in her voice.
“I know. I think we should tell him.” Collen replies.
“I know. I’ll tell him before bed.” Demetra says.
“Tell who what?” Dominic asks when he walks back in the room.
“Just… nothing. I’ll tell you later.” Demetra says.
Dominic then walks down the hall to a random room, and finds it is empty. He sits on the bed. Dominic just sits for a while, not really knowing what to do, he’s having writers block.
“Troubled thoughts?” Demetra asks, startling Dominic. Dominic falls off the bed to the floor.
“Hehe. Get up my Brony. You’ll get cold on the floor like that.” Demetra says and unponifies to help Dominic up. As Dominic unponifies to help make it easier for him to get up, the toe of his shoe snags on his heel, and he falls into Demetra. When Dominic opens his eyes, he sees Demetra balancing herself over top of him on the bed with a shocked, weirdly scared face, and a blush burning her cheeks.
“What?” Dominic asks.
“N-noth-thing… “ Demetra stutters, looks away, and stands up, getting off of Dominic.
Dominic follows her with his eyes, confused, but tries to think of something to talk about. Then he remembers,
“Demetra, you said you were going to talk to me about something?” Dominic says.
“I-I was, b-but… I don’t… I think it’s a little too awkward to talk about right n-now.” Demetra stutters with stressful breaths, sounding shaky with fear.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Dominic asks, getting up to comfort her.
“N-nothing! Nothing’s wrong! I just… I just have to think about something and calm down! I-I’m fine, okay!” Demetra says loudly, slapping Dominic’s hand away when he touched her, and never looking at him. She took a deep breath and slammed the door closed on her way out of the room. She walked off, more like ran, to another room a few doors down the hall. She peeked inside, her heart thumping, and went in when she saw the room was empty. Demetra curled up into a shaking bundle in the closet, and wept silently into her arms.
Dominic was confused. What had caused her to act like that? What was she so scared of? He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Was it that position they had been in? He decides to talk to someone, to get his mind from exploding from confusion. He opens his door and walks down the hall to Gabriel’s room. He knocks on the door,
“Yes?” Gabriel asks from inside the room.
“It’s Dominic. Can I come in?” Dominic asks.
“Yeah, sure. Come in.” Gabriel replies, and Dominic opens the door. The mare is sitting on her bed reading a book,
“What do you need?” Gabriel asks kindly. Dominic shifts on his feet for a second, then asks,
“Can I sit down?”
“Sure.” Gabriel replies and Dominic sits down on the bed. It feels softer than his.
“How much do you remember about your mother and father?” Dominic asks. At this, Gabriel almost drops her book.
“W-Why do you ask?” she asks.
“Well, I mean, if you want to know anything about them, you know I could always tell you.” Dominic says to Gabriel, and she just nods, but makes the face saying, ‘not right now, please.’ Dominic nods, understanding.
“Why did you come to me for? The real reason.” Gabriel asks.
“It’s something about Demetra,” Dominic says worriedly, “She was going to tell me something, but I think I did something to frighten her. What do you think it could have all meant?”
“Well, I wouldn’t really know, but Demetra and Collen were talking about something after you took Librarian to her room. They looked really serious, concerned, and pretty scared.”
“Oh. I know what happened. They must have thought I resurrected the Librarian ” Dominic says.
“Wait… you did WHAT!?!?” Gabriel yells
“ I didn’t resurrect her, though. That would involve messing with demons. No, I forgot the female Librarian came in during A Surprise Visit. That is the one who died. The one I brought back is from Dark Days of Time. That one didn’t die. I brought her back for a refresher. I forgot to tell them that.” Dominic says, semi-monotone and planned.
“Maybe you should go tell them that, and see what Demetra’s up to. After scaring a girl, there can be big problems, trust me.”
“I know. I remember when you and Swordmaker were together. She was nice until she had to quit her job.” Dominic says.
“She had a nice butt, though.” Gabriel says. Dominic and Gabriel laugh.
“Or, remember Scholar?” Gabriel asks.
“Oh my gosh, yes! He was more a girl than you were!” Dominic says and suddenly, he hugs Gabriel. She looks surprised, but she hugs him back, anyway. He lets go and tells her to get some sleep, then he walks back to his room and stares at the ceiling until morning.
