"it's working. the green light on, master Kai."
"oh, green means 'on'? cause I can't see remember?"
yes, sir
"thanks Halloween. so i'm Kai, Kai bound sword. and i am currently flying to a new world. one that my blind aura eyes won't be a hindrance. and this incorrigible pumpkin doll is Halloween. say hello, Halloween." Kai said into the microphone.
"greetings little black box. you are doing a grate job as a scribe." Halloween crooned in her husky, sing song voice.
"good. now our reality is coming up in 12, . . . 10, . . . 7, . . . 4, . . . 1 . . . . . . breaking fourth wall now!
Canterlot city
the ally behind sugar cube corner
5:40p.m. on a Wednesday
three girls were panhandling all they were worth in front of the sweets shop. they were once the majestic sirens, the dazzlings. a whistling growing in pitch till KA-BOOM.
a ball of something hi the back parking lot.
there a teenage boy wearing a pair of black slacks, brown work-boots, a sandy tan long-coat, gray long shirt, a white fedora with a blue, red and yellow braided ribbon. the well dressed teen was standing in the middle of a rather large bonfire. working to quell the blue-white flames was a smallish, famine figure that was wearing a ratty ivy green cloak and a pumpkin as a helmet. the figure was hefting a comically big duffle bag. just then the boy spoke.
"welcome my fellow casters! what do I owe the honor? you should know my power is equal to the teach fear to a eldritch nightmare. now name, gender and either source. come now me and Halloween don't have time to dally."
the purple haired siren, by the name of one 'aria blaze' spoke up in a non-caring tone. "why should we? what would we gain? it's not like we're rolling in cash."
the smaller girl(? named Halloween by some cruel trick of fate,) who had finished fire duty spoke in. "a powerful ally is surely worth a thousand vaults of gold."
the siren with orange poufy locks looked thoughtful then, a 'adagio dazzle'. "sonata! aria! guppy huddle!"
Halloween was giving me a read on what these jokers were. I could see water/void mana in each. but if I could trust them was doubtful. but a pawns they would do wonders.
the authoritative one, the one who's name reminds me of cheese, spoke. "okay you got me and my sisters attention this is our turf do well and you'll move up our ranks but embarrass any of us, look out!"
"how dare matchsticks seek to tell a bonfire is your lesser. I aught to aarrgggaa!"
"beta, gamma, delta."i said pointing to adagio then aria, lastly sonata. "tell me your name first will do. and tell me why your level is so high but your so weak. then we find a way to get better."
even blind I could feel the power behind 'beta's' glare. even I felt a bit of a shiver IMPRESSIVE, VERY IMPRESSIVE.
"do we have to?" the one dubbed 'gamma' whined. "yes if he can get our voices back I would make a pack with discord himself, now hush!!" beta snapped fiercely. "I am adagio lead siren of this troop the one with the rotten attitude is aria. and the one being a mime in a box is sonata.
". . . kai, kai bound sword. the pleasure is undoubtedly yours my maiden of the sea. I was wondering about the mix of water/void magic in your soul." I say nonchalantly.
I donno daga unless he can get us some food and a decent bed tonight. he no good. no matter if he has magic, without our pendants we're normal." the siren known as sonata said in a voice that managed both bubbliness and sadness.
I whip out three 2.5X3.5 paper talismans out of Halloween's bag. I hand them, one each, to the maidens of the sea.
"you have been stripped of your purpose, now I will be your master in exchange for you new voices and powers.you will no longer be sirens of war. if you take my deal. but I'm not in a hurry to make you choose how about we ate first then we'll talk at my place must be better then the squalor of the poor house. by-the-by is there a pizza house near by?"
"yeah there's Leo's Italian, but we can't afford to pay up front." adagio said clearly pissed.
"leave the heavy work for me, myself and I. my spellbinder is the best thus I am the best. and befor you ask i'm only at torch to the bonfire that is my lord and you, you are a dwindling match head.
