"Come along now my little ones", Fluttershy told a row of ducklings that were following their mother in a single file line. One of the little ducklings began to wander towards the Everfree Forest. "Oh no, not that way Harold, the rest of your brothers and sisters and waiting for you near the lake." Fluttershy told the smallest duckling with a soft tone.
"Harold?" Twilight Sparkle asked Fluttershy as she walked up towards the lake.
"Oh, hi Twilight, this is Harold." Fluttershy said, picking up the smallest duckling of the flock and holding him in her hooves. "Isn't he the cutest?" Fluttershy asked Twilight. Harold had fallen into a pile of mud and leaves before Fluttershy had picked up so he smelled and was covered in mud.
"Yeah...hes definitely something alright." Twilight said with an uneasy tone as she held the dirty and smelly duckling in her hooves. I just don't know how you do it Fluttershy. Twilight said.
"Do what?" Fluttershy asked Twilight
"Put up with all these animals, I mean some can be the cutest things and all but, what do you do when you have to put up with creatures like snakes, or crocodiles, or even skunks?!"
"Well, the way I see it is that every creature big and small have beauty in them somewhere, even if they seem a bit scary on the outside, like for example the snake is actually really friendly, and the crock just wanted a friend, and lastly the skunk had one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen." Fluttershy told Twilight, "I have to thank you Twilight for helping me."
"Wait, how could I have helped you?"
"I remember when I was afraid of just about everything, and if you hadn't encouraged me to be braver and face my fears, I never wouldn't have been able to become the pony I am today and have been able to help so many animals who I might have thought were too scary to even get close to." Fluttershy said.
"Well, I'm glad I was able to help in any way, and I would just like to say, that I'm extremely proud of you Fluttershy.
"That means a lot Twilight." The both gave each other a hug but Twilight didn't realize that she still had the duckling her hooves.
"Oh, you poor thing, run along to your family now." Fluttershy said, taking the duckling from Twilight's hooves and placing it in the pond to be with its siblings. The sun began to lower and the stars began to appear one by one in the sky.
"I better get going now, Spike is probably wondering where I am." Twilight said.
"Thanks for stopping by to check in with me." Fluttershy said.
"Your welcome, see you at the Summer Sun Celebration." Twilight told Fluttershy.
Fluttershy gasped. She had totally forgotten that tomorrow was the Summer Sun Celebration. She had just been so busy helping animals that she hadn't checked the Calendar in a while. She ran out of the parries and panicked. She was so stressed that she didn't realize that she had ran straight into the Everfree Forest. "Oh no, i'm in the Everfree Forest." Fluttershy said to herself. She tried looking around for some kind of path that would lead her back to Ponyville or at least out of the Forrest, but all she could see were trees and branches. She began to panic even more and tried to fly above the trees so she could get a good look at the forest. As she tried to fly up she didn't notice that there was a tree branch above her and flew right smack into a tree. She fell on the ground are realized her wing was hurt and flying would only damage it more. It started to rain and Fluttershy ran under a thick tree for shelter. She started to cry as she thought she was hopelessly stranded in the EverFree Forest until morning, or at least until some pony found her. When she gasped for air while crying she thought she heard something. At first she thought is was some horrible creature looking for a midnight snack but then it became more clear. She started to walk towards the strange sound. As she got closer the sound started to sound a lot more like crying. In fact, it even sounded like they were the tears of a small filly. Fluttershy rushed towards the sound but when she got to what was making the sound, she was shocked. It wasn't a filly nor even a pony, but a little draconequus. In her mind she wanted to run back and let the princess know that there was a draconequus among the borders of Equestria, but in her heart, she wanted to take the creature home. She slowly approached the draconequus. It turned around and stared at Fluttershy. It wiped away its tears and then was startled by Fluttershy's presence.
"Grrrrrr", the draconequus growled at Fluttershy, afraid that she would harm him.
"Its okay little one, I'm not gonna hurt you." Fluttershy wondered why in the world the little creature would be afraid of her. "Come here its okay" Fluttershy told the little draconequus. Daylight was rising, and the little draconequus fled into the forest the moment that Fluttershy had turned her head. Just then Fluttershy heard another sound. The sound of Hooves racing towards her. Unlike the first time, she knew what that sound was.
"Fluttershy, your alright!" Twilight said, with the rest of their friends racing to catch up to her.
"Hi Fluttershy!" Pinkie Pie said, mysteriously appearing behind Fluttershy and had arrived before Twilight.
"Pinkie, when did you get here?!" Twilight asked, more confused than ever.
"I got here before you Twilight, I've been standing here for a while waiting for you all to catch up, speaking of all of us wheres AJ, Rarity, and Rainbow."
"There on their way." Twilight told Pinkie.
"Twilight, how did you know I was here?" Fluttershy asked Twilight.
"After I saw you take off, I figured you had to do something important so I thought nothing of it, but after I realized that I had forgotten my quill at your cottage I came back to get it, Twilight said, When I saw that you weren't there, I noticed hoof prints leading towards the forest so I followed them and here I am.
"I overheard Twilight talking about you in the EverFree Forrest I thought we were gonna have a "Almost the Summer Sun Celebration Party" in the EverFree Forest so I invited all of our friends to come, Pinkie Pie said, then later I realized that you were stuck in the EverFree and not trying to host a party so I had to go back to Sugercube corner and and fix the invitations that I made for the party and I had to change them into "Help Rescue Fluttershy from the Everfree Forest" invitations so when I did I passed them out to our friends and headed over here."
"Wow pinkie, sounds like you went through a lot of effort to get our friends here!" Fluttershy told pinkie.
"You have no idea how hard this rescue mission was!" Pinkie said, as she let herself fall to the ground so she could rest.
"We should probably go tell our friends that your alright before they get here and pinkie will have to say the whole story all over again." Twilight said.
Fluttershy giggled. "Yeah, your probably right!" Fluttershy told Twilight. Fluttershy heard something coming from deep in the Forrest. She thought to herself, "I probably shouldn't tell them about the draconequus, they would think that I'm still afraid of creatures from the EverFree Forest and treat me like a foal." Still, Fluttershy looked back at the Forest, wondering what the little draconequus was up to now.
"Is everything okay Fluttershy?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Fluttershy smiled, "I'm positively fine." She said.
