My job is simple, I receive an email detailing a target, the location of said target, and details on what assets the agency has in the area as well as "drop boxes" which contain equipment that is to larger or otherwise noticeable to carry. After getting all of the information, I have complete control over how I go about doing my job, the few stipulations I have are, do not get caught, do not get seen, and do not fail. If any of those things happen, excluding the last, I am to eliminate those who've seen me ( in a realistic sense ) and escape anyway possible, if I fail, I get a price on my head until the target has been dealt with, talk about a hostile work environment.
I am not the only person with this job, but I am one of the best, I get the best contracts, great pay, and access to greater equipment than many of the other Workers. When I first entered my line of service, they asked my name, when I told them, they scoffed and told me to give them something anonymous, something that could be used in plain discussion and not bear any red flags, I chose Eugene Crass, something so far from my actual name that it could never be linked to me. After being named like a newborn, I was took to a doctor's office and measured and weighed, coming out at 6'0 and 200lbs, they said I was in perfect condition and was to immediately report to training, which was to last 10 years. In the first two years, I was subjected to torture such as waterboarding, electrocution, and drugging. It was complete and utter hell, but when the two years had passed I was able to move on, having only failed 40 out of 375 times, next was hand to hand combat, which lasted the longest at six years long.
When it first started, we were training in Krav Maga, and was full power all the time to give us actual experience in using it, but by the end of the week 5 people had died. After about 3 years, and fifty deaths, we moved on to weapon training, such as knife fighting, marksmanship with many types of firearms, explosive training, and combat training. In the next three year, I was stabbed in the lung, shot in the left forearm, and took shrapnel to my legs and chest, but at the end of it I could hit a coin at one hundred yards with any type of firearm that was handed to me and fight in a actual gunfight, use a knife to a degree with was terrifying to the untrained, and plant and hide explosives with ease. I was good, very good, but not the best, Agent Rook had made the best marks and walked out unscathed from the ordeal, that was more then can be said to over one hundred and thirty poor souls,their violent deaths taught us that no more then one mistake was enough to end our lifes.
After spending six years in combat, the next part was hard, two years of infiltration and assassination techniques. Those who failed at this stage were killed with no hesitation, it was also in this two years were I killed my first person.
As I walked out of a hallway, I came upon a wooden boat, that was filled with people, perched upon of the concert floor, my orders were simple, get abroad and kill a woman anyway possible. Her name was Dawn "Vinyl Scratch" Uni, a 5'4, 110lb, blue eyed DJ with dyed blue hair, who had pissed off her rich father by dating a 'undesirable' and contacted the Agency, a stupid reason but it was a contract. She had no idea what was going to happen, she was just paid a stupid amount of bits for a concert in the middle of nowhere, for her it was a easy gig, for me it was the hardest day of my life. The guards were her actual guards and they were armed to the teeth, while all I had was a suppressed .45 caliber handgun, a jet black combat knife, piano wire, and a handful of bits.
Sighing to myself, I walk toward the ramp leading up to the boat, as I neared the guards noticed me and tighten their grips on a pair of M4 platform rifles.
The one on the right held up a hand and the one on the left spoke,
"Sir, this is a invite only party, if you have one, please show, if not please leave."
"Oh, sorry, let me grab it" I say reaching into my inside left pocket of my suit, briefly brushing my shoulder holster as I pull out my invite and hand it to the guard on the left.
"Hmm, well everything looks correct to me Mr.Crass... Actually it says here you have a private meeting with Ms.Scratch." he says after studying it for a few moments.
" Why yes I do, old friend of her's and shes been wanting me to come to one of her shows for the longest, so here I am." I say chuckling.
" Ha, go on right ahead Mr.Crass, Vinyl will meet you up in her office after the show. Enjoy your night." He says gesturing past up the ramp to the stairs leading to the upper parts of the yacht.
" Thank you." I say with a nod and start up the ramp to the stairs.
-30 minutes later-
"What? I have someone in my room? Whatever, just let me in already, I'm beat." says the muffled voice of Vinyl before walking through door.
"Alright who the fuck are you? You sure as fuck don't look like a fan, to well dressed." She says pointing at my suit.
"Oh, I am a fan, I heard your show when you were in Las Pegasus. I was told you needed a manager. You told me to meet you at a later date, so here I am." I say guestering with my hands.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. Yea yea, I kinda remember that. Uhhh, can I get you something to drink?" She says, her tone doing a 180 turn and putting a smile on her face.
"No, let me, please. You must be tired. How long where you up there? One hour? Two?" I say standing up and walking to the bar directly behind her.
"Thanks, I was up there for four hours, fucking tiring. But I love doing it!" She says, obviously glad to be talking about her job.
As I pour my drink, I turn and look at her, and to my luck, she is looking away, probably looking at her phone. So, while she is distracted, I pull out my handgun and sneak up behind her. As I line up a perfect head shot, she fumbles with her phone and drop it, making my first bullet sink into the floor in front of her. Before I can line up another shot, she spins around and sees me about to fire again.
" What the fuck are you-" she starts to say.
*Thunk*
*Thunk thunk*
Well that is until I put a bullet in her chest, then two into her head for good measure.
"Sorry." I simply say before walking out of the room, past her guards, down the stairs and ramp, and back through the door I first entered at the start of the test.
"Good job, Agent Crass. A bit sloppy, but you pulled it off without being caught. Welcome to the Agency." A female voice says to me.
"Your first mission will begin in 24 hours, get some rest and report back to me. Handler Black-heart, out. "
-24 hours later-
"Agent Crass reporting in as requested." I say standing up straight.
"Good, your next contract is to infiltrate Giffionstone Castle and assassinate King Frank Herns and Queen Isalda Herns along with high council member Gorge Grife. You will be inserted into the kitchen staff. " She says with a cold tone of voice, suggesting I better not fuck this up.
"Understood, anything else Ma'am?" I ask hoping to get more information.
"Yes actually, you're a man of many faces, use that to your advantage. Get close and take them out without getting caught. If you get caught, you are on your own. Good luck. "
