//-------------------------------------------------------// Flutters, Fly -by bellaHeartLoverBHL- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Brand New Day, Brand New Sleepover //-------------------------------------------------------// Brand New Day, Brand New Sleepover It was a beautiful day outside of Ponyville, birds chirping, flowers blooming, and the sky is clear. Until Fluttershy slowly woke up of her bed, and started walking downstairs for some breakfast. She grabbed a bowl of salad and put it on a table as she sat down and ate her salad. Then, she got up of the table, walks towards the door, opened it, and started walking outside, smelling fresh air. Until she saw Rainbow Dash stop by, she got surprised. "Oh, hi Rainbow Dash. How are you doing in this lovely morning?" Rainbow Dash grinned. "Doing great, Flutters. You?" Fluttershy replied, "I'm doing very well, Rainbow." She smelled the fresh air again. "Don't you just love fresh air?" Rainbow Dash felt the fresh air flow across her and felt relaxed. "Yeah, I love it! Very refreshing." Fluttershy grinned. "I know right? Today feels like Spring Fever!" She giggled. "Well, see you later, Rainbow!" Fluttershy walked past Rainbow Dash. "See ya later, Flutters!" Rainbow Dash flew into the sky, once again doing awesome tricks. As for Fluttershy, she was trotting above the fresh green grass, looking around. Then, she felt someone bump into her. And that someone was Derpy Hooves. Derpy frowned and backed away a bit. "Oops, sorry Fluttershy.." Fluttershy hugged Derpy, and let go of her. "It's okay, Derpy. I know how it feels to be clumsy." She frowned a little and lifted her head down. "But hey, all it matters is that we're unique just the way we are.", Derpy replied. Fluttershy lifted her head up and smiled. "Maybe you're right." Derpy nodded and she suddenly had an idea pop up in her head. "Hey Fluttershy, wanna have a sleepover tonight?" Fluttershy felt a little nervous. Last time she had a sleepover, she was hanging out with Derpy, Lyra, and Bon Bon. And they once had a conversation. It was just an ordinary conversation about Fluttershy. So she started having that flashback. "Hey Bon Bon.", Lyra whispered to her best friend, Bon Bon. "Yeah Lyra?" Bon Bon whispered back. "Have you heard that Fluttershy got a very low percentage of her flying before?" Lyra slowly frowned. "Well, maybe. I think so. What about it?" Bon Bon was getting a little worried. "Well, I suggest that she needs to work on her flying appearance next time. Besides, no one wants her to fail a flying test." Bon Bon nodded. The whole time, Fluttershy heard everything, frowned, and decided to sleep. She wasn't comfortable with ponies talking about her flying percentage. Until Lyra and Bon Bon looked at Fluttershy sadly. "I hope she didn't hear that.." Bon Bon nodded. "Same here.." Then, they both slept as well. Then Derpy got worried about Fluttershy too, but she decided to sleep too. Then Derpy was waving her hoof at Fluttershy oddly. "Hey, um.. Fluttershy? You okay there..? Anyone home?" Fluttershy snapped out of the flashback, and focused at Derpy as she shook her head quickly. "Oh.. sorry Derpy. I guess I got spaced out there. Anyways.." She faked her smile as a real one nervously. "Sure!" Derpy grinned. "Okay Fluttershy. See you there tonight!" Derpy went home as Fluttershy frowned, so she went back to her cottage and started preparing for her sleepover. A couple hours later, Derpy brought her other friends with her to Fluttershy's cottage and knocked on her door. "Come in!" Fluttershy said with a perfectly fake real smile. Then Derpy opened the door for her friends and she walked inside clumsily. "So what are we gonna do, Fluttershy?" She was smiling right at Fluttershy, waiting patiently. But Fluttershy couldn't think of anything. Except Lyra, she thought of all their friends playing "Spin The Apple Cider" before. So she gladly said, "Let's play 'Spin The Apple Cider'!" The friends cheered, except Fluttershy. She only said, "Woo hoo." She was feeling nervous again. Fluttershy never really plays any games that much. So Lyra bought an extra empty apple cider with her magic, laid it on the floor, and they all played "Spin The Apple Cider" all night, then fell asleep. Fluttershy hoped tomorrow would be a better day than this one. Author's Note Hope you guys are enjoying this so far. //-------------------------------------------------------// Hopefully A Better Day, Until... //-------------------------------------------------------// Hopefully A Better Day, Until... One morning, Fluttershy woke up once again, and headed outside of her window, seeing how everything's going. Everything looked the same like yesterday. Yesterday wasn't all that bad. She was just feeling nervous, that's all. But then, Rainbow Dash saw her flying around and got a little worried as she flew up to her. "What's up, Flutters?" "Oh, nothing much, really." Rainbow Dash smiled. "Well, okay then. Anyways, remember that one time when you-" Fluttershy did her fake real smile again, she knew what Rainbow Dash was going to ask. "Um, eeyeah! I remember.. of course I remember." Then she sighed. But Rainbow Dash was getting worried again and looked down at Fluttershy. "Is everything okay?" Fluttershy nodded. "Yes, everything's fine. Don't worry.. hehe.." She accidentally showed her frown. So Rainbow Dash brought Fluttershy with her to Fluttershy's bed and sat down with her. "Are you sure? You don't seem very happy... Is there something wrong?" Fluttershy didn't want to tell her that she was nervous. Otherwise, she thought Rainbow would think she was stupid. But Fluttershy didn't want to keep something that's bothering her inside forever. She knew she had to tell her sooner or later. So she sighed, nodded, and lifted her head down. "I knew what you were going to ask.. and you know, it makes me feel nervous of flying in front of everyone, which is something I don't want to do, especially having sleepovers and ponies talking about my flying percentage..." Rainbow Dash perked her ears down and hugged Fluttershy. "Fluttershy.. it's okay to be nervous. Otherwise, it's also okay to show and tell your feelings. I think you should tell Derpy about that too." She was rubbing Fluttershy's back to calm her down. As for Fluttershy, she felt a little better. Then she smiled a bit and sighed happily. "Oh Rainbow Dash, what would I ever do without you and Derpy? Especially the others. Obviously, there would be nothing I can do without anyone by my side. Thank you so much for stopping by." Rainbow Dash perked her ears up and grinned. "Hey, no problem, Flutters." Moments later, Fluttershy was flying around again and saw Derpy waving at her. She waved back and landed on a path. Derpy walked over to Fluttershy and frowned a little. "Hey Fluttershy, were you feeling okay yesterday? Because I was getting a little worried about you." Fluttershy shook her head. She told Derpy that she was feeling nervous. Fluttershy also told her WHY she was feeling nervous. So Derpy gave her a big hug. "Aww.. Fluttershy, it's okay! I get nervous too! But let's face it, everypony gets nervous sometimes. And speaking of flying.." Derpy showed Fluttershy a flier of "Cloudsdale's Flying Competition". Fluttershy started to feel nervous again, on the inside, that is. As for Derpy, she was really excited, but a little nervous as well. But she couldn't wait to compete. Unfortunately, Fluttershy didn't feel strong enough to be determined for that competition. So she went home, flew up to her bedroom, and started thinking about the competition, if she wanted to join it or not. Author's Note Huh, too emotional for ya? Well, it's not that emotional. Okay maybe. Only the beginning and ending was quite emotional. //-------------------------------------------------------// Short Adventure First, Competition Last //-------------------------------------------------------// Short Adventure First, Competition Last Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were flying through mountains, and landed on top of one. The one with a cave where they used to explore with their other friends, there was that one time when Fluttershy was brave enough to stand up to the big red dragon. And the dragon apologized. So Fluttershy forgave him for trying to hurt her friends. She recognized the mountain with a cave, she remembered. She was thinking of one of her memories, and turned to Rainbow Dash, suddenly worried. "Are you sure I'm good enough for this?" Rainbow Dash turned to Fluttershy and wrapped her wing around her. "Don't worry, you got this. You can do it." Fluttershy smiled and nodded. Then, she took a deep breath and slowly walked towards the cave. "Um... hello? Red dragon? Are you awake?", she said out loud, but not that loud, so that the big red dragon can hear her. And well, he DID hear her. Then he suddenly woke up, and walked out of his cave. "Oh, hi." Then he started to feel awkward. "Um.. what are YOU doing here?", he said with an awkward smile. Fluttershy walked towards the big red dragon. "Oh, well, it's a long story. Today there's going to be a flying competition at Cloudsdale. And I'm nervous about that. Because I have a bad feeling ponies are going to judge me... like they did in my nightmares..." She started frowning, looking down a bit. Rainbow Dash walked over to Fluttershy and hugged her. "I promise no one will judge you. Trust me?" Fluttershy took a deep breath. "Okay, I trust you." The big red dragon looked worried. "Aww... well, how about you stay with me for a little bit, and then you can go to Cloudsdale." He smiled. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy weren't amused. The big red dragon looked surprised and laughed. "I meant that I'm going to train Fluttershy for a little bit. Geez." Then Rainbow and Fluttershy grinned. The big red dragon started flying across the sky, doing some cool tricks. Fluttershy followed him and tried doing exactly what he's doing. Moments later, Fluttershy was ready. She already felt determined to compete. This time, she wasn't going to give up. She learned that no matter what, you will get judged, but you just have to accept the fact that you are unique just the way you are. Then Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy quickly flew to Cloudsdale, and Derpy waved her hoof at Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. "Are you ready, Fluttershy?" Fluttershy nodded. "Of course. Let's do this!" Derpy, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy all hoofbumped together and stood on each cloud. Fluttershy tried not to be afraid. Because Rainbow Dash told her to try to face her fears and live with it. Fluttershy appreciated all the help. So they all took off with their flight. But unfortunately, Derpy was oddly feeling clumsy for some reason. She tripped off her cloud. Fluttershy noticed her falling. She quickly saved Derpy. Then Derpy hugged Fluttershy. "Thanks, Fluttershy! You saved my life." Fluttershy winked. "You're welcome." Then Fluttershy gently put Derpy on the ground. As for Derpy, she just sat and watched Fluttershy finish the competition with Rainbow Dash grabbing her and doing a Sonic Rainboom once again! Afterwards, they got their trophy, and hugged each other. Even Derpy flew up there and hugged them. Even the rest of Fluttershy's friends went to hug her. They were proud of her. "That was fabulous, darling!", Rarity said, grinning happily. "Yeah! That was super-duper fantastic!", Pinkie Pie said, grinning excitedly. "Great job, partners. Yeeeeeeehaw!", said Applejack. Twilight Sparkle put her hoof on Fluttershy's shoulder. "Great job, Fluttershy. We're proud of you for who you are. We always will, no matter what." Fluttershy started crying tears of joy. "Thank you so much, everypony.. you truly are the best of friends I can ever have!" Then Fluttershy said, "See you later!" to her friends and returned to her cottage. She went to the writing table again, pulling out another piece of paper to write THIS: First I thought, fear would take over me. But now I see, I got friends to stick like glue with me. She put her pencil down once again and smiled. Rainbow Dash was right. Everything was going to be okay after all. So Fluttershy flew upstairs to her bedroom and started relaxing on her bed, looking at the window with the sun shining bright. Author's Note Welp, things have finally come to an end with Fluttershy's fears. Hope you enjoyed this fanfiction! //-------------------------------------------------------// Worst Night Ever //-------------------------------------------------------// Worst Night Ever One night, Fluttershy was sleeping on her bed quietly. She started having a dream, but thinking about the flying competition at the same time. So her dream went a little like this: She was standing on top of a cloud, with pegasi staring at her, waiting for her to fly. But she started shaking and thought, I don't want to do this, but... I guess maybe I'll have to... She looked down and gulped. Well.. here goes nothing... Prepare to watch me fall to my doom... She took off, starting to fly, but for some odd reason, her wings cracked. She started falling, especially screaming for help. But no one was coming to rescue her. Pegasi were just standing there, watching her fall. They started laughing loudly at her. Fluttershy, Fluttershy! Fluttershy can hardly fly! They kept saying that out loud repeatedly. As Fluttershy fell, she wanted to get up and leave. But then the pegasi were beating her up, giving her bruises and stitches. Fluttershy started crying. The pegasi stopped and kept laughing at her. Stop! Just stop it! I've had enough! So Fluttershy clumsily flew away with her cracked wings, but she couldn't stop crying... And so, when she arrived at her cottage, she grabbed a knife and cut herself. Then she slowly died... And that's how her dream turned into a nightmare... Every night she had a nightmare now and then... So she had enough, she couldn't stand it. Her mane and tail was all messed up. So she decided to write something. She got off of her bed, walked over to a different table with a piece of paper, and grabbed a pencil to write this: Nightmares rise, inside my head. Could I please.. just die instead...? Then she put her pencil down, went back to her bed, and put her head in her pillow, still sobbing. She doubted that she'll ever feel better. She also doubted anyone would like to see her fly. So she didn't want to join the competition at all, she wanted to stay home and give up. As so on, she kept sobbing for the rest of the night. And most of all, she couldn't stop thinking about that very depressing flashback ever since she was a filly, getting bullied by pegasi... //-------------------------------------------------------// Help Comes By When You're Down //-------------------------------------------------------// Help Comes By When You're Down One morning, Derpy and Rainbow Dash came to wake up Fluttershy, because they were getting worried about her. "Fluttershy? Fluttershy! Wake up!", Rainbow Dash said. Then Fluttershy slowly woke up with tired eyes, oddly sweating from having nightmares, and looked up to Rainbow Dash and Derpy as she did her perfectly fake real smile once again. "Oh! Hi Rainbow and Derpy... How have you been...?" Fluttershy yawned. Then Derpy said, "Fluttershy, are you okay? You seem... tired..." Fluttershy slowly nodded. She didn't feel her body moving that much. "O-oh! No... I'm not.." Fluttershy yawned again. "Tired..." Rainbow Dash was still worried, so was Derpy. "Hmm... I don't know.. It looks like you haven't slept at all... are you sure you're okay?" Fluttershy slowly nodded again. "Yes, don't worry about me..." Rainbow Dash held up her calendar and points her hooves at it. "Well, anyways, today the flying competition starts at 4:00. So you better get ready before it's too late." Fluttershy slowly nodded once again. "Okay..." Derpy smiled a bit. "I'm gonna go train for the competition". Then she grinned and waved her hoof at Fluttershy. "See ya there, Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash watched Derpy return to her home as she turned to Fluttershy and sat on her bed, looking right at her with a still worried look. "Hey..." Rainbow held Fluttershy's hoof. "Why haven't you slept? It's important to get some sleep, ya know." Then she started rubbing it slowly. Fluttershy showed her frown once again, sighed, and looked down. "I know..." Rainbow looked down at Fluttershy. "Hey hey.. what's going on?" Fluttershy turned her head away a bit. "N-nothing. I'm fine." "Look, you can't always pretend that you're 'fine'. You have to at least tell me the truth... you can't just keep something inside forever." Fluttershy understood that, and told her why she hasn't slept. Then she started crying, now that she told her.. Until Rainbow Dash gave her a big hug. She started rubbing her back. "Shh... it's going to be okay. Don't worry.." Fluttershy was sobbing, hard. "No it won't... I KNOW it won't..." She slowly lifted her head down with ears down. Rainbow Dash started patting her back. "Don't give up, Fluttershy... I believe in you... at least you have me, Derpy, and your other friends to help you." Then Fluttershy laid her head down on Rainbow Dash's shoulder. Then there was a moment of silence. "What about we go on an adventure to try to get rid of your fear?", Rainbow Dash said, grinning. "What do you say?" She reached out her hoof for Fluttershy's. Then Fluttershy grabbed Rainbow Dash's hoof softly. "Okay.." She sniffed and wiped her tears. "Let's go." Rainbow Dash hugged Fluttershy once more. "That's the spirit! Now come on, our adventure will be short. So we'll have plenty of time before the competition." Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flew out the window, and their adventure has just begun. Author's Note I'm assuming this might have been too emotional than the other chapters. Well, of course, some stories have sad moments, some don't. Same difference.
