Starlight Glimmer's hooves made soft "clip-clop" sounds as they hit the crystalline floor. What time was it? She didn't know. It didn't matter, anyway. This wasn't the first time she had a nightmare since she had been taken in to Twilight Sparkle's home. She decided it was time to tell her. She was finally able to navigate the castle well enough to at least get to Twilight's bedroom from here. The castle was oddly eerie in the dark. There was seemingly too much room for Starlight to be comfortable. She took a deep breath as she got closer to Twilight's room. She pushed open the door slowly and stepped in.
"Twilight..?" She asked sleepily.
A short , surprised scream escaped the alicorn as the light being emitted from her horn flickered out into small pink sparks. Starlight takes a step back.
"Uh..sorry, I didn't mean to scare you..." Starlight apologized curtly.
"It's okay!!" Twilight answered quickly as she adjusted her rather un-princess-like sitting position to a more formal one. "Uh, what did you need..?"
"I, um..." Starlight chewed the inside of her lip nervously. "Had a nightmare.."
"You did..?" Twilight tilted her head. She made a slight movement with her hoof. She seemed to be pushing something under her pillow. "About what?"
"I couldn't quite put it together..." Starlight lied. Of course she could put it together. She remembered even vivid detail. She had dreamt about backstabbing all of the new friends she had made. She dreamt she had become power-crazed and lonely again. That had been her biggest fear, in actuality.
"So you just..had a random nightmare..?" Twilight asks for conformation. "Is this the first time you've had the nightmare? Have there been more?"
"Yep." Starlight tried to respond casually. "Just..I just thought I let you know. In case you had some spell to help..? Or any idea why they might be happening..?"
"Uh, I'm sure I do.." Twilight yawned. "But..could we wait until morning..? I'm exhausted..."
Starlight nodded. "Yeah, yeah...what time is it, anyway? Why were you up?"
Twilight sighed. A pink aura illuminated her horn as she removed the object from under her pillow that she had previously hidden.
"I've been reading all night.." Her cheeks reddened slightly. "It's midnight, by the way..."
Starlight sighed. "You've been reading all night? What have you been reading that's so interesting?" She trotted closer to Twilight's bed and sits down next to it. She figured this would take a while. Twilight could drone on and on for hours on end about books.
"Oh!" Twilight seemed to light up like a Hearth's Warming tree. "It's this book on Hashima Island. It's this hardly known exotic island outside of Equestria! It's been around for hundreds of years. They say even Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have stepped hoof on it very few times. It hasn't been inhabited by ponies for decades. There are dozens of creatures unknown to Equestria, maybe even some that are thought to be extinct!"
Amused by Twilight's rant, Starlight chuckled softly. "That does sound interesting! Maybe you can have Spike and the girls over so you can talk about this place. I'm sure they'll be interested."
Twilight smiled brightly in the dim light of her illuminated horn. "That sounds like a great idea."
Starlight nods as she stands. "I'm gonna try to get back to sleep. Goodnight. Try to sleep,maybe?" She laughed softly as she began to walk out.
"No promises," Twilight mused. "Goodnight."
Starlight makes sure to close the door gently as she walked out of Twilight's room. The conversation definitely made her feel better from her nightmare. Twilight always made her feel more comfortable. Most of the time, at least. She makes her way to her room. With a yawn, she settles under her covers and lets her eyes slowly shut.

Twilight slowly opens her eyes as the bright sunlight creeps it's way into her room. What time had she fallen asleep? She didn't even remember falling asleep. Twilight yawns and sits up, stretching her wings. She glances down at where her head had been. She wasn't surprised to see the book on Hashima Island. This wouldn't be the first time she had fallen asleep while reading. She yawns again as she shuts the book with her magic and places it on her nightstand. She gives it one loving glance before hopping out of bedand trotting over to vanity against her wall. Her mane was an untamed mess. Not really a shock. It was always this unruly when she woke up in the morning. She hastily runs a brush through it to straighten it out and brush out the tangles. She trots out of her room once satisfied.
"Spike??" She calls as she makes her way to the small dragon's room. A small, drowsy "what??" Came from a nearby room.
"Are you up..?" Twilight asked as she peered into his bedroom. He nods slowly as he turns over in his bed to stare at her. He had probably just gotten up.
"Morning, Twilight..." He sits up and stretches his arms upward. "Did you sleep well? I sure did..."
"Uh, I think I did?" She laughs softly. "I did stay up pretty late reading..."
"Is it that book on hashbrown island or whatever..?" He asks drowsily.
"Hashima," Twilight corrected him. "I stayed up well past midnight...guess I crashed, though."
Spike pulled himself out of bed and yawned loudly. "Eh, don't know what I expected. You do this every time you find a new book."
Twilight blushed lightly. "Uh, yeah....can you have the girls over here for lunch today? I want to discuss something."
"Yeah, sure..." He stretched again. "Just let me wake up first..I won't be able to write letters when I'm this tired."
