Act 2.2: Britannica's Fate

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Many years ago in the country of Britannica, Frisk was living a happy life with her parents and her brother. Her father, Asgore, was a servant of emperor Zebulon, the ruler of the country. Therefore, the family was pretty rich at the time. Yet, Frisk has always had nightmares of a certain thing to happen in the future: One terrifying event that will haunt her even more forever, ever since she got the warning that day.

When she was five years old, the evil wizard Gromiz, was jealous of Zebulon’s popularity and wanted to take over the country. To solve this issue, Zebulon decided to agree on working with him, for a short period of time. However, the day finally came when Gromiz was so jealous that he declared war on him.

Frisk was horrified. Her predictions happened to be correct! She would see many of Gromiz’s minions roam in the streets, hurting the citizens as they go…She wanted to help, but doesn’t have the courage to. And her brother wasn’t brave enough either, so all they can do is to stay in their home and be safe.

One night, when the family were all sleeping, something terrible happened. During the night, someone tried to break into their house, ready to kill them. When this murderer was going up the stairs to Frisk’s parents’ bedroom, she heard the creaking sounds from the stairs. She immediately woke and saw the killer ready to kill her parents! She was afraid of getting caught, so she carefully and nervously tip-toed up the stairs.

When she got up, it was too late. She heard a loud scream: It was her father! Her mother, Chara, ran over to see what happened as well. When they entered, they were shocked to see blood on Asgore after the killer stabbed him. And then, the killer showed himself: It happened to be a magically possessed flower, who was one of Gromiz’s minions.

‘Too bad, I say.’ The flower said, laughing.

‘Who are you? Why did you kill my father?’ Frisk said, horrified.

‘I am Flowey, and I am one of Gromiz’s minions. I know your father was one of his servants, so to prevent the most loyal ones from defeating my master, I am responsible to deal with them…Besides, it’s kill or be killed in this world…’ Flowey replied.

‘You and Gromiz will surely not get away, one day you will face your downfall!’ Chara cried.

‘But I already have…muahahahaha!’ And Flowey casted a spell on the two, leaving them both sleeping while it got away.

The next day, Asriel got the news from his sister. His face was covered in tears.

‘We can only try to avenge him... But how? We're so weak! We can never match up against him!' Asriel cried.

Frisk was sad too, she knew this was coming for a long time. But no one else did. And soon enough, Zebulon was defeated by Gromiz and was sent to Tongwe Island. Gromiz became the new ruler of the country, but he was extremely cruel and unfair. Nobody was allowed to mention about Zebulon, or else they won’t have a good time…Everyone had the urge to rebel against Gromiz, but no one had the courage to since it was impossible to defeat him with his magical potions and spells.

A few years later, Frisk was getting ready for bed, and sighed.

'(Sigh) I still can't believe that happened...'

She looked at the photo frame, showing the whole family.

'My dad didn't deserve to die at all... Just why?' She said, starting to cry as the tears dropped onto the glass.

Moments later, she felt someone resting their arm on her shoulder.

'(Gasp) Leave me alone, who's there?' She asked.

The light Frisk saw years ago reappeared in front of her eyes.

'Ah, I have warned you,' She said.

Frisk sighed. 'Oh, this is just wonderful!' She said in a unamused voice, getting off the bed and pacing around. 'You're the one I saw that day and yay! You were right, now my father died. Are you happy now that I am crying streams of tears?'

         The light was speechless.

'Oh, and you told me I will change? Well, it's been 3 years already and nothing happened!' Frisk added, crossing her arms.

The light got up, and kindly told her one thing:

'Do you want to avenge your father?' She asked.

'Oh, pfft. Are you kidding? How can I, a very normal child, defeat a completely overpowered wizard?'

The light calmly turned the child to face her.

'Listen, Frisk. I know you can do it. All you need... Is training. You are a destined fighter. I know that because it was I who made your soul. Your soul is the golden soul I put my hopes on. I can look into the future, you see. I am telling the truth. When you grow, you'll be a savior everyone will know.'

Frisk thought for a second. 'And how exactly will you prove that?'

The light made some sort of crystal ball, and told her to look into it.

'Stare into this crystal ball, and see your future.'

Frisk was in complete shock when she saw that she had beaten Gromiz, with her own hands.

'Wh-What!? How is this possible?' She asked.

'Oh, that's not all...' The light added. 'Your adventure has just begun from here... Here on out, you will go on to explore a new kind and form a forever-lasting friendship with them. Though you two races will fight in wars, the light will prevail. And... You will meet the best friend of all your best friends you will ever make in your life.'

Scenes flashed here and there, showing Frisk's journey in her future years.

As the ball disappeared, Frisk was getting more and more curious.

'Who is this best friend I will meet?'

Thel light shook her head. 'You'll know soon enough. However, in order for your life to go the way I expected, you need to train.' She pulled out her hand. 'Will you join me in my conquest to restore the power of the light to everyone?'

And the little girl had made the biggest, and possibly the best choice in her entire life.

'Alright, I trust you.' She replied, shaking her hand.

So, at such a young age, Frisk already started training to fight, in encouragement from the light. Although she became more aggressive as she trained harder, everyone was okay with it after they got used to her 'Crazy and overreacting' attitude. No one would want to mess with her. If they did, they will have a bad time.

That almost happened when she was in fourth grade.

Frisk just got to school, sat down at her desk, just chilling out until the first lesson comes. As some boys in her class walked in, they were giggling at her.

'Oh, look at the little girl today.' One of them said. 'Aw, how sad. Your father got stabbed in the face. Lucky me I'm alive and well...'

As the boys laughed, Frisk stepped up to him.

'You think you're cool, huh?' She teased, slapping him.

'(Gasp) Did you just do that? What about you then? Made of the soft stuff, that... didn't hurt.' He tried to slap her, but she gripped his hand and pushed his arm down. She pointed at him angrily.

'Listen up, dude. I know in my heart, I will one day take down that stupid emperor who have murdered my father. And if you guys are gonna stand in my way when I actually do it...' She cracked her knuckles. 'Let's just say...'

One of Frisk's friends, Felix, came over.

'Woah woah woah! Calm down, guys! Frisk, what's going on?' He asked.

         She glanced at him again.

'Lucky you I have explaining to do.' She said, walking away. Then, she whispered everything that has happened to Felix.

This kind of behavior lead Frisk to run into some... Nasty problems at school. However, it was for a good cause in the long run. She even helped Asriel to prepare as well! She wanted both of them to be prepared for any battle that can come in the future, and to make sure they have only a small chance of dying.

Years passed, and the country was living in complete despair. Gromiz's rule was terrible, and he was unfair. As time passed, a kind of sickness started roaming the land, causing everyone to start dying. Though, this sickness was eventually cured, there was another hidden sickness spread throughout people as well.

It seemed like there was no way to change the situation around. Until one day...
