Chapters The colt ran through the forest, pushing branches out of the way and leaping over rocks. He soon came to a small clearing. The colt stood in the center and turned around, breathing heavily. He looked every which way, not seeing any pony anywhere. He then turned around and bumped into... her, causing him to fall backwards. The pink mare grinned.
"Did you think you could escape me?" she asked.
"N-no, Pinkamena. I--"
She kicked him in the head. Hard. He let out a groan and rolled over. The mare pulled a knife from her mane.
"You've failed me for the last time."
"No, please." pleaded the colt, looking up at her. "Don't."
Pinkamena knelt down and stabbed the colt in the back. He let out a scream of pain.
"Should've obeyed. Should've listened. Why didn't you listen?"
"I couldn't hurt her! I couldn't." He began crying.
Pinkamena let out a low growl. "Pathetic."
She raised his head, exposing his neck. She then pulled out the knife and held the blade against his throat.
"No. D-don't..."
Pinkamena slid the knife across his skin, blood pouring everywhere. She let his head drop to the ground. She then stood up and watched him twitch until he lay still. Pinkamena closed her eyes and tilted her head backwards, letting out a sigh.
"Now..." she said, looking down and opening her eyes. "Who's next?"
Fluttershy pushed the bowl of carrots over to Angel.
"Come on, Angel bunny." she said sweetly. "Time to eat." The bunny closed his eyes and looked away. "Please, Angel. You have to eat."
The bunny hopped away as Fluttershy let out a sigh. Just then there was a knock at the door. The yellow pegasus trotted over to the entrance and opened the door.
"Hello?" she asked, seeing no pony anywhere. "H-Hello?"
Just then a figure tackled her to her cottage floor.
"Got ya." said Dash with a giggle.
Fluttershy smiled. "Sure did, Dashie."
Rainbow Dash got off Fluttershy and held out a hoof. Fluttershy took it and Dash helped her up.
"Need something?" she asked.
"Yeah." said Dash. "We're throwing a birthday party for Bon-Bon. Wanna come?"
"It's Bon Bon's birthday today?" asked Fluttershy.
"Yeah." said Dash. "I forgot, too." she said with a nervous chuckle.
"So... a party, huh?" asked Fluttershy. "That sounds like... fun."
"Something wrong?"
Fluttershy let out a sigh. "I don't know, Dashie. I guess I'm a little scared."
"Scared?" asked Dash. "You'll be surrounded by friends who love you."
"I guess..."
Dash let out a sigh. "If you want to come, you know where it's gonna be."
"I do?"
"Where all parties are held at, silly. Sugarcube Corner."
"Oh, right. How could I forget?"
Dash smiled slightly and headed out the door.
"Hope to see you there, Fluttershy." she said, taking off.
Fluttershy went over to the door and closed it, letting out a sigh.
"A party." she said softly. She looked down and saw Angel nodding. "You think I should?" Angel nodded again. "All... all right, then. I'll go."
Fluttershy arrived at the party just as it was starting. Dash saw her walk in and went over to greet her.
"Hey, there. You made it." she said happily.
Pinkamena watched them talk from around the corner where the basement door was. She saw Fluttershy and grinned.
"Perfect." she said softly.
"Have you seen Pinkie Pie anywhere?" asked Twilight, approaching Dash and Fluttershy.
"Nope." responded Dash.
"Sorry. No."
Pinkamena took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the corner, making her way towards the trio.
"Hey, girls." she greeted cheerfully.
"Hey, Pinkie." said Twilight. "Where have you been?"
"Oh... Around." answered Pinkamena. "I had something that needed taking care of."
"Did you accomplish your goal?" asked Twilight.
"Oh, yeah. I don't think I'll have to worry about that little problem anymore."
"That's good." said Dash. "Now, ready to enjoy the party?"
"You bet." said Twilight, following Dash to the food table.
Pinkamena trotted next to Fluttershy.
"And how are you today?" she asked with a devious smile that made Fluttershy a little uncomfortable.
"F-fine." she said softly. "You?"
"I'm doing fine, too. Thanks." Pinkamena smiled. "Wanna see something cool?"
"Cool?" asked Fluttershy. "I just, uh... got here, and..."
"That's all right." said Pinkamena. "It can wait. Go. Have some fun."
Fluttershy hesitated before trotting over to the food table. Twilight and Rainbow Dash had trotted off. She spotted Applejack and Rarity having a discussion. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around.
"Hey, Fluttershy."
"Hey, Bon Bon. Cool party."
"Thanks. Pinkie Pie helped out with it."
Pinkamena trotted up next to Bon Bon and put a hoof around her. "I sure did."
"Speak of the devil." said Bon Bon. "There she is." Fluttershy couldn't help but notice Pinkamena smile when Bon Bon said 'devil'. "Anyways, enjoy the party."
"I will." fluttershy said softly as Bon Bon walked off.
"So... enjoying yourself?" asked Pinkamena.
"Uh... yeah..." said Fluttershy hesitantly. "Sure."
"You're lying." said the pink mare with a grin.
"I... uh..."
Pinkamena stared at the yellow pegasus. "Wanna see it now?"
"See what?"
"That cool thing I mentioned a minute or so ago."
"Well..."
"Come on." said Pinkamena. "What have you done? You went to the food table and made no attempt to mingle." Fluttershy hesitated until Pinkamena leaned in and nuzzled her cheek. "Thought you were my friend." she whispered.
"Pinkie..." said Fluttershy, shocked. "Of course I'm your friend."
"So, you'll come see?"
Fluttershy nodded. "Sure."
Pinkamena smiled. "Oh, joy. Come with me."
Pinkamena led her to the basement.
"The b-b-b-basement?" asked Fluttershy, frightened.
"Don't worry." said Pinkamena, placing on Fluttershy's back. "I'll be right here with you."
The yellow pegasus smiled as the two made their way down the basement stairs.
"It's r-really d-dark down here."
"There's lights at the bottom. Don't worry."
When they arrived at the bottom, Fluttershy kept walking, thinking Pinkamena was still beside her.
"So, wh-where's this c-cool thing you wanted to sh-show me?"
"You'll see." said Pinkamena closing the basement door. "You'll see."
Pinkamena turned on the lights, blinding Fluttershy. When the light cleared, Pinkamena was standing in front of her.
"Ready?"
"For what?" asked Fluttershy softly.
Pinkamena stepped aside and Fluttershy saw a chair with a tarp over it. It looked like there was something in the chair. Fluttershy took a few steps forward.
"Go on." said the pink mare. "Take a look."
Fluttershy stood in front of the chair and slowly reached out a hoof. As soon as she felt the tarp, she also felt a sharp sting in her side. She reached over with a hoof and pulled out a syringe.
"Wha..." she said sleepily.
"I changed my mind." she heard the pink mare say.
Fluttershy soon felt tired, and then subsequently passed out.
She woke up and looked around, blinking away the blurriness. She was now in a small caged area. Sort of like a jail cell. She jumped up, whimpering. The pegasus looked around the room and saw a swivel chair, back facing her. It was the same one that was covered with the tarp. She could make out a mane which told her that a mare was sitting in the chair.
"H-hello?" she asked. No answer. "E... Excuse me?"
The mare didn't answer. Fluttershy took a deep breath and placed a hoof on the chair, turning it around. She let out a blood-curdling scream and fell backwards. She scooted backwards until she hit the wall. In the chair was a mare. Her right eye was gouged out and her left was hanging on by a vain. Her bottom jaw as missing and her tongue was hanging down. Her stomach was cut open and her organs were sitting in her lap.
"Like it?" asked a familiar voice. Fluttershy looked to her right and saw Pinkamena leaning up against the cage. "It's one of my favorites."
She looked down at Fluttershy, who was looking up at her with tears in her eyes.
"Pinkie?" she whimpered. "What's going on?"
Pinkamena grinned. She then opened the cage door and entered.
"P-P-Pinkie?"
Pinkamena knelt down in front of Fluttershy and pulled a knife from her mane. Fluttersh let out a gasp.
"Wh-wh-wh-wh-what's that f-f-f-for?"
"Scared, Fluttershy?" asked Pinkamena.
"Y-y-y-y... y-yes."
Pinkamena slowly touched the tip of the knife to Fluttershy's chest. "You're always scared." Fluttershy wanted to run but was frozen with fear. "But I can help with that."
Pinkamena quickly slid the knife across Fluttershy's skin, cutting it. The yellow pegasus let a sharp cry of pain and dove for the door. Pinkamena licked the blood off the knife as Fluttershy ran to the basement door.
"Help!" she screamed as Pinkamena left the caged area. "HELP!"
"HELP! HELP!" yelled Pinkamena mockingly, laughing afterwards. Fluttershy looked over her shoulder at the pink mare. Pinkamena grinned. "Soundproof. No pony can hear you."
Fluttershy began crying some more as she slid down the door into a seated position.
"Why?" she whimpered.
Pinkamena trotted towards Fluttershy. "Why? Because I need some help around here, Fluttershy. It's so much work."
Fluttershy closed her eyes as Pinkamena knelt down in front of her. "P-Please, let me go..."
"Let you go? But then we wouldn't get to play." said Pinkamena, reaching out and touching the cut on Fluttershy's chest. The yellow pegasus let out a whimper of pain. "You're such a wimp, Fluttershy."
Pinkamena brought the knife's blade to her own leg and made a deep cut, only wincing slightly. Fluttershy stared in shock.
"See?" asked the pink mare, raising the bloody knife. "Nothing to it."
"Y-You're insane." said Fluttershy, staring wide-eyed.
Pinkamena grinned. "I can teach you to ignore pain. To feel virtually nothing. Wouldn't you like that?"
"A-At what cost?" asked Fluttershy. "Becoming a m-monster like you? No, thanks."
"You'll see the world a new way, Shy." said the pink mare. "You'll be able to sneak around without any pony noticing you, using top-notch scare tactics to scare the shit outta your prey... and, above all... you'll feel no pain."
"You're s-sick." said Fluttershy softly. "I-I'll never be like you."
Pinkamena scowled. "So, you've made your decision, then?"
Fluttershy nodded. "Y-Yes..."
"Very well." said Pinkamena, grabbing the back of Fluttershy's neck.
She then threw the yellow pegasus to the floor and kicked her in the chest. Fluttershy let out a cough and a gasp for air.
"Then, I guess there's nothing left to do but kill you, Shy." she said, kicking the pegasus again.
Pinkamena then raised her hoof and slammed it down on Fluttershy's wing, causing the winged pony to scream in pain.
"Wait!" Fluttershy cried, just as Pinkamena pulled out her knife. "Wait... I-I'll... I'll d-do it..."
Pinkamena grinned. "Oh, goodie." she said, putting her knife away. "I'm gonna go see what's going on upstairs. Be back shortly."
She began making her way to the stairs when Fluttershy spoke up.
"C-Can't you help m-me up?" she whimpered, looking up at the mare with tear-filled eyes.
Pinkamena stopepd at the stairs and hesitated. After a second or two, she turned and looked over her shoulder.
"Help yourself up, Fluttershy. Be a big girl." she said with a grin, before trotting upstairs, leaving Fluttershy all alone in the basement.
The sound of a door closing and locking could be heard. Fluttershy let out a whimper as she tried to stand but fell back down, letting out a yelp of pain. She then crawled over to the caged area, reaching up and grabbing the bars. She then pulled herself up and leaned against the cage, clutching her chest. Her gaze fell upon the dead mare in the chair. A tear fell from her eye as she thought about all the possible things that Pinkie had in store for her. She knew her life was over, but she sure wasn't gonna go down without a fight. This new thought of payback gave her the strength to stand on her own. She trotted to the center of the room and looked around.
"Just wait, Pinkie..." she said softly. "Just you wait."
Pinkamena headed back downstairs to find Fluttershy sitting on the floor, wincing in pain as she tried to flap her hurt wing.
"Aw, what's the matter?" asked Pinkamena. Fluttershy let out a gasp of shock and looked over at her. "Wing hurt?"
Fluttershy slowly folded her wings, wincing in pain as she nodded.
"Suck it up." the pink mare spat, trotting past Fluttershy to the caged area.
Fluttershy watched as Pinkamena pulled the dead mare out of the chair, her corpse hitting the floor with a sickening thud. Fluttershy looked away, closing her eyes. Pinkamena grinned and dragged the dead mare in front of Fluttershy. The yellow pegasus openedd her eyes and looked down, letting out a shriek of fright.
"Take a good look, Fluttershy." she said as the yellow pegasus tried to look away. The pink mare grabbed her head and forced her to look down. "Take a good, long look." she said with a grin.
"P-Please... Stop this..."
The pink mare forced Fluttershy to look her in the eyes.
"Oh, but, my dear Fluttershy..." she said. "I have so many fun things planned for us."
"F-F-F-Fun?"
Just then Fluttershy heard the sound of muffled screaming.
"Sounds like our new friend wants to play."
"No..." whimpered Fluttershy.
"But, first..." said Pinkamena. "Lesson 1. Ignore pain."
"Wh-What?"
ATTEMPT #1
Pinkamena quickly pulled out her knife and swiped at Fluttershy's foreleg. The yellow pegasus let out a cry of pain and clutched the cut.
"I said ignore it." Pinkamena said calmly, swiping again.
This time she cut the pegasus' other foreleg, causing her to yell. Pinkamena let out an annoyed sigh.
"You're failing, Shy. Ignore it."
She slashed at Fluttershy's hind leg. The mare screamed in pain, tears streaming her face.
"Ignore it!"
Pinkamena swiped at her other hind leg. Fluttershy kept crying and screaming in pain.
"IGNORE IT!" yelled the pink mare, slashing again. "IGNORE IT! IGNORE IT! IGNORE IT!" she repeated, slashing at Fluttershy every time.
She soon stopped, Fluttershy laying in the floor covered in blood, sweat, and tears.
"Please..." she whimpered. "No more."
"You're so pathetic, Fluttershy." said Pinkamena. "You're gonna stay down here..." she said, pointing the knife at Fluttershy. "until you get this right."
"I-I will, P-Pinkie." stammered Fluttershy through tears.
"My name... is... PINKAMENA!!!" yelled the pink mare, slashing at Fluttershy's shoulder.
The yellow mare let out a cry of pain as Pinkamena stood over her, breathing heavily. She then let out a sigh and pulled her hair out of her face.
"You'll spend the night here." she said calmly. "I'll return first thing in the morning."
She hesitated before turning and heading towards the stairs.
"Wh-What about f-food?" said Fluttershy softly.
Pinkamena ignored her and disappeared upstairs. Fluttershy curled up on the floor and cried.
ATTEMPT #2
Fluttershy heard the door open and looked up. Pinkamena trotted down the stairs, carrying a pail in.her mouth. When she got to the bottom, she set the pail down.
"Morning, Shy." she said. "Sleep well?"
Fluttershy looked up at her, eyes barely open.
"Water..." she said weakly. "Please?"
Pinkamena cocked her head. "Water?"
"Yes, please..."
"I want you to beg for it."
Fluttershy let out gasp and a whimper. "P-Please... Give me water... I beg you... Please..."
Pinkamena smiled. "Good girl." she said, kicking the pail over to Fluttershy.
It tipped over, causing some to pour out, but Fluttershy quickly picked it up and began drinking. The pink mare trotted over to the pegasus and knelt down, pulling out her knife. Fluttershy stopped drinking and stared at the knife, knowing what happens next.
"Please, no..." she whimpered.
Pinkamena ran her hoof up and down Fluttershy's foreleg. The cuts were starting to heal. Fluttershy winced in pain.
"Ignore... the pain." said Pinkamena, whacking the bottom of the pail.
The remaining water splashed Fluttershy's face, drenching her hair. She shuddered at how cold it felt. And the chill in the basement didn't help.
"S-So... c-c-c-cold..."
Pinkamena wrapped a hoof around her and pulled her close, holding the tip of her knife under the pegasus' chin.
"This lesson isn't just about pain, Fluttershy. But all physical feeling. Hot. Cold. Doesn't matter. Not when you're like me."
"And w-w-why do you w-w-w-want m-m-m-me?" Fluttershy shuddered.
Pinkamena smiled. "Who would ever suspect you? Your innocence is what makes this plan work."
"And w-w-w-what if I l-l-l-lost that innocence?" asked Fluttershy. "Would it still w-w-w-work?"
"With or without your innocence, it'll work. As long as the others believe."
Pinkamena slowly dragged her knife across Fluttershy's hind leg. The pegasus let out a yelp, but managed to hold back a scream.
"Get through this and I'll give you a treat." said the pink mare, dragging her knife across Shy's leg again, a few inches below the other cut.
Fluttershy kept her lips shut tightly, her yells of pain coming out in muffled groans and whimpers. Pinkamena smiled.
"You're getting there." she said. "Just concentrate on ignoring it. It's all in your head, Shy. All the feeling of pain. That's your brain. If you concentrate hard enough, you can control it."
Fluttershy nodded as Pinkamena cut her leg again. The pegasus let out a long groan before bursting out in tears.
"I can't! I can't do it!" she sobbed.
Pinkamena put her knife away. "You will learn this, Shy. Otherwise I'd be forced to kill you."
Fluttershy let out a little gasp as Pinkamena stood up. "I'll be back later. We'll resume then."
She trotted over to the stairs and headed up. Fluttershy held her leg, wincing in pain. When she was sure Pinkamena was gone, she pulled a bone from her mane. She had ripped it from the dead mare. She trotted over to the metal cage and began rubbing the bone across it, trying to file it down into a sharp point.
ATTEMPT #3
Pinkamena threw Fluttershy into the wall. The yellow pegasus lay groaning on the floor.
"You have not yet learned, Shy. You're becoming a disappointment."
Fluttershy let out a gasp for air. "I'll try... I-I promise."
ATTEMPT #6
Pinkamena slashed at Fluttershy's foreleg. The butter pegasus did her best to hold in her screams.
Fluttershy sat near the metal cage, filing her bone down even more.
ATTEMPT #12
Pinkamena slashed at Fluttershy's shoulder. The pegasus let out a little grunt.
ATTEMPT #15
Fluttershy began filing her bone down some more.
ATTEMPT #20
Pinkamena cut Fluttershy's leg. The pegasus didn't even flinch. Pinkamena slowly pulled her knife back and smiled.
"Good girl." she said. "Now, for the final test."
"The f-final test?" asked Fluttershy.
"Yes." said Pinkamena, holding up the knife. "Are you prepared?"
"N... N-No..." whimpered Fluttershy.
"Death waits for no pony!" yelled Pinkamena, stabbing Fluttershy in the shoulder.
The yellow pegasus winced but held her ground. Pinkamena's eyes narrowed as she grinned, twisting the knife. A tear began to form in Fluttershy's eye but she managed to keep her pain at bay.
"Very good, Fluttershy." said the pink mare. She slowly pulled the knife out.
"A-Am I good?"
"No, of course not." said Pinkamena. She licked the blood from the knife. "Four more to go."
Fluttershy went wide-eyed with fright and gulped.
Pinkamena turned away from Fluttershy and stuffed the bloody knife back in her mane.
"You did good, Shy." said the pink mare, heading upstairs.
Fluttershy fell to the floor, blood smeared throughout her coat. She let out a whimper as she tried her best to ignore the pain. Once she regained some strength, she pulled out her bone knife from her mane and went back to filing it against the metal cage. She wiped a tear from her eye.
"I'll get you for this." she said to herself, holding up her bone knife.
She brought it to her foreleg and cut it, wincing. She had put on a show for Pinkamena to make her believe that pain didn't bother her. Now, she had to get used to it for real if she was gonna get her revenge.
