Eyes of Power

"I wonder how, I wonder why, yesterday you told me 'Bout the blue blue sky and all that I can see is just a yellow lemon tree." I hummed to myself as my hand brushed against the long grass I'm walking through. The morning dew dampening my torn up uniform.

I breathed in the cold morning air before smiling. it was a nice to be out of that frozen wasteland and best of all, away from that mess I caused back their.

I came across a puddle and saw my bloody face staring back at me.

It surprises me how quickly I got over everything. My brother got torn apart then eaten right in front of, I got drenched in demon gore then I faced a prime demonic head on and then went on to eat a humanoid horse thing which just so happened to be an important member of its species government and I am completely unfazed that I got chunks of a creature that can think and talk and act like a human floating in my stomach acids.

Maybe its self preservation to keep me alive or I'm going mad, but it could be the fact that I was merged with a spirit of death at the time and its still having an effect on me.

Speaking of SoD, he ended up being expunged from the physical world and back into the Cloak after he fully absorbed the soul of the horse thing I ate. He has managed to keep a weak connection with me but he can only speak to me when he is empowered or in other words I am surrounded by a lot of death.

So that was a pain as I ended up passing out whilst I was running when he was kicked out my body but I woke up without anything wrong so nothing to worry about.

So here I am, in a damp overgrowth of grass, staring at a puddle during the early hours of the morning.

I placed a finger on a large cut on my cheek and rubbed the gel on it

I was met with a sting as the gel fell apart as soon as it was moved.

"*sigh* I need to replace it, but I don't have anything else." I took of my blazer and my torn shirt and began pulling the gel of the wounds, luckily most of them have healed a bit so they are not as serious.

I wrapped by shirt and blazer around my waist so the wounds can get air and make it easier for scabs to form.

I shuddered as the cold air blew against my skin and flicks of moisture sent up by my feet.

It was peaceful.

Too peaceful

My head quickly snapped behind me and when I saw nothing it snapped towards my left, then to my right then back in front off me.

"Whose their? SHOW YOUR SELF!" No one answered yet I feel like something is watching me.

My pace through the grass got faster as I started to feel uncomfortable in the dense grass.

I can hear whispers but when I focus its just far away birds. I started to lose control of my breathes and started to chew the inside of my cheek.

My steps became more clumsy and I tripped over several times but I kept going long enough to pierce through the overgrowth but I couldn't go any further as lost control of my body an fell on the floor twitching.

I was overwhelmed by a painful migraine as began to shake more violently before I was meet by the bliss that is unconsciousness.

Several days later in the Crystal Empire

Never had their been such a sad day for the Crystal ponies since the tyrannical reign of King Sombra. Others such as the Equestrian ponies and the humans were in the same state as them as they and many more stood on both sides of a road that led to the Crystal Castle.

Going down the road was a black carriage with a coffin made from a blue crystal in it. it was being pulled by Crystal guards wearing their ceremonial armour and walking behind them was the friends and family of the late Princess Flurry Heart.

"She can't be dead, this just can't be happening." Cadence cried into her hands.

"She's dead Cadence. Murdered then eaten by some sicko." A short human with amber coloured eyes, brown hair and wearing a black suit said harshly to Cadence.

This only made her crying worse but the human only sighed. "At least your husband isn't alone anymore." he placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.

After a few minutes of walking, the carriage was pulled up the crystal heart and everyone walked up the Crystal Castle to the balcony whilst the crowds walked up to the castle to get a better view of the balcony.

Their was a few more seconds of waiting and it began to rain as the pegasi altered the weather to fit the mood.

Everyone looked up at the balcony as Princess Cadence prepared to say a speech.

"We are here today to mourn the tragic lost of our beloved Princess Flurry Heart." Cadence began to quiver. "Who at the young age of 15 suffered a most horrible death from a human with a soul blacker then the darkest if night." Cadence wiped her eyes.

"Though today we may weep of her untimely departure and we must remember that Flurry Heart will always remain here in our hearts." Cadence fist then started to shake with uncontained fury. "But the crime of her murder will not go unpunished. This person took her from this world and then defiled her remains via consumption." Everyone gasps. "This monster WILL be found and they WILL face the harshest of punishments and they WILL BEG FOR US TO KILL THEM!" Cadence let her anger control her as she completely ignored her written speech

."As of this moment every country in the world is on high alert to find this monster. the only thing we know is that they are a male supernatural with a duplicate of himself that is made from a red-purple mist. Anyone with information on the murderer should tell a guard or your country's equivalent IMMEDIATELY!" Cadence then stormed back into the castle whilst everyone went to pay their respects to Flurry Heart.

Somewhere?

Chris, Chris wake up, Chris,Chris? WAKE THE HELL UP!" I teleported onto my feet in shock before looking around before dropping my jaw at my surroundings.

"Oh good, you can use your powers without headaches now, oh and one question: WHAT! THE! FUCK! HAPPENED HERE!" SoD appeared in front of my and stared into me with his glowing eyes.

"I-I-I don't know, I just- I just past out and woke up to this." We both looked around at the carnage surrounding us.

We were in a town, but the buildings have fallen apart and were covered in the bloody guts of their former inhabitants. Their torn limbs and flayed skin littering the ground around us along with bloody splattered across the town like tomato sauce was just shot out of a nearly empty bottle but the sauce was more crimson and had a lot more iron in it.

Speaking of which, I can taste a metallic taste in my mouth and after moving my tongue around and tasted chunks of meat in my mouth. I felt something furry in my hand and brought it up and to my absolute horror I saw a small, half-eaten, head of one of those horse things.

I dropped the head and looked closer to myself and saw the bodies of human and various other species next to me, some missing their heads, most of them children and all of them with chunks of their bodies ripped off by... teeth.

I wiped my race and then spat all the chunks out of my mouth and my eyes were met with different colours of blood mixing together to make a dark brown colour.

"Oh god." I began shaking and I leaned over to vomit, but nothing would come out. "Oh god oh god oh god OH GOD!" I tried to force myself to puke but nothing would come out and I knew my stomach was full as I can still feel them twitching inside me.

Strangely it all tasted good.

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME!" I shouted as I tried to desperately wipe the blood of my hands.

SoD look through memories of the souls, before shock downed his face."You-you went mad Chris" he stared at the blood drenched town and watched as guts slid of the roofs. "One of them saw you collapsed and went to help you but you started screaming like a wild animal and ripped him open and ate him in front of his children... oh sweet lord you were blood starved." Horror swept across his face.

I stared at him with confusion. "Shouldn't you be happy by all the death?"

SoD shakes his head. "Your confusing me with a death demon. I'm completely different, I only like death that is done out of fate, the horse you killed earlier was fated to die so I revelled in it. But this. This was completely out of control, this isn't fate, this is just senseless murder. Chris you slaughtered this town and feasted on their corpses but you weren't in control. The chance of it happening is incomprehensible but when you ate that horse and thus absorbed some of its life force, it triggered a dormant gene in your blood that caused you to enter a frenzy once it was fully absorbed but how could you have gotten this gene is the true question may be it was-"

I zoned him out as I made eye contact with a figure staring at me in the distance.

Before I could blink they where right in front of me and would of cut my head of if it wasn't for the SoD's mist sword to parry it.

The figure jumped back and I got a good look at it and to my shock it was an adult Thomas.

Thomas gave me a equally shocked look. "Chris ? I thought you were dead... why are you so... young."

"Well this is going to be fun." SoD merged with me just as Thomas pointed his sword at me.

"I don't know who you are but you are not Chris!"

"For fucks sake!" I groaned
