Canterlot, Equestria...

(01:32 AM)

Equestria was not known for such incidents. A thousand years have passed since any known incident had made itself known like this, not since the banishment of Nightmare Moon. During the night, something crashed right outside the capital of the nation.

Curious, guards gathered around and set out to find what the source was. The flying streak appeared to have landed nearby the train station leading into the city. A guard sighed, raising their hoof to adjust their yellow helmet as they wielded a mere spear.

"What could've causes that ruckus?" the unicorn asked.

Another guard, a pegasus, shook his head, "Not sure. But we should hurry. The Summer Sun Celebration is tomorrow after all. Once we check what this is, we have to head back to the castle for Princess Celestia's orders."

There were three guards, an earth pony, a pegasus and a unicorn. They thought that was the only force they could spare. They all wielded spears in their hooves and their armor looked to be sturdy enough to face any threat that they would find.

After another moment, they finally reached the station, where only a small crowd had formed around the smoke. The guards lightly shoved their wy through the bystanders, "Excuse us... This is a matter of the royal guards. Please step back for your safety." the earth pony ordered, seeing the bystanders take a hoof back, allowing them space to get a closer look at whatever it was.

At last, the smoke cleared, and lying in the middle of the crater was something unseen in Equestria. It looked to be a white metallic golem. It was very slim in its appearance. One of the guards used their magic to levitate a stick to lightly poke it, it created a light clinking sound that was barely audible.

"What is it?" one of them whispered.

The pegasus lightly tapped it, "Not sure. We should take this to Princess Celestia just in case..."

However when the guards looked away, ordering the crowd to leave, they were unaware of what the strange golem-like creature was doing in its spot. Its eyes were flickering red before remaining like that. As slow as it could, the creature managed to stand on its feet, standing still in the crater it made.

When they heard the sounds, the guards turned around. Their eyes widened upon seeing the metallic figure standing upright, its eyes glowing red. The pegasus and earth pony aimed their spears at it, while the unicorn lit up their horn. "Halt! State your reason for being here!" they ordered at once.

Rom was surprised by this. The sudden crash landing caused his translator to malfunction, meaning that he was speaking his native language. These... equine creatures did not look happy in the slightest It took a moment for the circuits to come back on and for him to seamlessly translate in their native tongue.

The alien raised his hands as the two sides were now able to understand one another, "I do apologize. I do not mean to bring harm to any of you. My arrival was rather... sudden."

"What do you want?" the pegasus asked, almost hastily.

Rom opened his palms, a red light beginning to glow. "First I must see if you are indeed the natives of this world."

The pegasus snarled and lashed the spear at Rom, who merely threw the spear down. "A rather crude weapon to use against me." his optics changed to scan the lifeforms. "But by doing so, I now see you for your true colors: Dire Wraith."

In an instant, Rom crossed his arms into an 'X' formation, scanning the other guards, "I see the horned one has a disguise too." he revealed. The earth pony looked confused by this alien's words.

"You will die like the rest of your kind, Rom!" the unicorn hissed, shooting a beam of magic at Rom, making him stagger back.

Rom held his torso, "A surprise for sure. That appendage has given you a slight offensive advantage. A shame it will do you no good, Wraith." he boasted.

Raising his hand, Rom's arm began to morph into an arm cannon. As the pegasus neared him, Rom pulled back, disintergrating the pegasus instantly. Its ashes fell to the ground. The earth pony nearly fainted from the sight and cowered in fear. The unicorn smirked, "It seems you are still competent, Space Knight. I swore we ran you off from your planet long ago. I didn't think you'd find us within this world."

Rom lowered his arm, "I swore to defeat the Dire Wraiths. There's no point in hiding your true form."

The 'unicorn' smirked, "I guess you're right." at that instant, the unicorn began to morph into a foul creature. It was hulking, there were no visible eyes and had blood red wings pop out of his back. The Wraith charged after Rom, who jumped to the side, dodging the flying beast. "The Space Knights shall be eradicated! No longer shall you halt us!"

Rom punched the Wraith as it neared him, readying his cannon, "The Wraiths shall not claim this world as well! My Neutralizer shall destroy your kind once and for all!" after saying that, the Wraith took the full force of the blast, diintergrsting like his brethren before. Rom lowered his weapon, facing the stunned earth pony, "Are you safe, native equine?" he asked.

"You... T-turned them to ash! Why? What are they?"

Activating his jet thrusters, Rom replied, "I fear I'm too late. Your world has been invaded like many before. The Dire Wraiths have already assimilated themselves. Be careful. For I shall be the one to liberate all worlds!"

Taking off into the night sky, Rom left the guard to contemplate his words. He didn't know what they meant. Surely, there was one pony he could enstrust this information too.

Canterlot, Equestria...

(03:51 AM)

Celestia put a hoof to her chin, she sat in her throne and faced the guard that told her of what occurred during the night, "Hm... This is quite troubling."

"What is a Dire Wraith, Princess?" the guard asked.

The Sun Princess sighed, "I am not sure. But you have come to me with information that a strange alien, possibly hostile is roaming Equestria. He is capable of disintergrating anypony with a weapon... And he brought news of a strange race called Dire Wraiths. Of which you seen, correct?" at the guard's nod, she continued.

"It seems he is speaking the truth. Unfortunately, I cannot act yet, for the one-thousandth Summer Sun Celebration is tomorrow in Ponyville. My subjects cannot know of this yet. For..." Celestia cleared her throat, refusing to bring up the subject, "I shall double my forces for now, until the celebration ends. You may exit."

The guard saluted as he walked out. The door closed behind him and Celestia exhaled, she gazed at the moon, seeing a familiar symbol on it. 'One thousand years, sister. Tomorrow you shall be freed of the rage that overtook you. I entrust Twilight with the Elements of Harmony. But after that, there is a matter of this Space Knight. I cannot rest easy, not knowing his true purpose in this world.'

Unknown, Equestria...

(04:02 AM)

Rom flew over this new world. He thought about his purpose in being here. 'Like Earth, it seems the Dire Wraiths have already invaded this world. But why come here then? Then again, they have already attempted to take over Earth as well as my world. They share no remorse.'

'I left Earth for the sole purpose of eradicating them before they did to other worlds as they did to mine. The Wraiths have had less impact lately there, and as I hate to admit it, the heroes there may protect Earth in my absence. For the Dire Wraiths have an influence across the cosmos. And only the Space Knights can end their threat.'

Looking down, Rom saw a farm nearby a small town. "Quite a primitive world. No wonder they were able to blend in so easily. I caight them off guard, other Wraiths would most likely be well prepared for my appearance. I must be aware. For now, I shall await in the forest until sunrise. Then, I will continue my search." he said to himself.

With a quick descent, Rom landed at the edge of the forest. There he saw a town for a city called Ponyville. He knew he could not be seen yet. Not after exposing that armored pony to his mission. But once the morning came, he would act, and expose the Dire Wraiths for what they truly are.
