Chapter Zero: Alone

If there was one word Spike Solaris Dragon use above all others to describe his current surroundings, it will be cold and the smell of heavy blood in the air. He slowly looks around and find himself on a table and wearing old 18th century-old England clothing, that he only saw in old pony books. After a few minutes Spike decided to get off the table and have a look around, he finds strange books, an IV bag, a surgical tool, some old like a bottle of liquid in them.

“If I didn’t know any better it looks like I’m in a small clinic,” said Spike in an exhausted and dazed state.

Spike finds a handwritten scrawl on an old nobility chair, next to a small table with a more strange looking bottles. The Scrawl readied: Seek Paleblood to transcend the hunt. His body tense of the word blood and hunt. Spike drops the handwritten scrawl and now looking for a way out of this place, he found a single double door that was not locked and open them. He proceeds to walk through it and down some moldy old wood steps, at the end of the step he found more old books, a lot more surgical table, and something rotten coming from the middle of the area.

“Gross, it smells like rotten egg mix with rotting cabbage and mustier,” Spike a cough and wheeze.

His coughing caught the attention of a wolf-like beast. Spike looked at the beast and frozen, without any hesitation the beast lunge at Spike ready to sink his to teeth into him. At the last second Spike jump out the way, he rolled on the floor as the beast crash through two surgical tables. Spike felt the blood trickling down his left cheek and arm, he has little time to react as the beast was on him again. Spike jump and roll out the way as best as he can, after a few more rolling and jumping he decided to use his dragon fire.

“Sorry about this, but you leave no choice!’’ Spike roar. Using is dragon fire to burn the beast to ashes. “Man I’m glad Fluttershy and the girls did not have to see that.”

As Spike limp away he here a low growl, he turns around to see the beast in pain but still look ready to kill. The beast jump at Spike with his mouth wide open, he did not have to time roll out the way. Spike felt searing pain through his left shoulder, he let out a painful scream/roar, as he felt the beast teeth tears into his scales. That surprise Spike because his scale can stand up against mostly all types of metal and magma. Spike uses his claw to slash at the beast's chest, the beast rears up in pain and throw him on the ground. Spike fell to his knee and grab his torn shoulder, blood was now everywhere his vision was blurring. He saw the beast crawling toward him, with his mouth open and teeth cover in blood, the last thing Spike thought was his friends and family, before feeling the beast teeth on the back of his neck.

If there was one word Spike Solaris use above all other is the coldness of night and emptiness. Spike wakes up from the cold hard ground and stumbles to his feet. His vision starts to come back to him, and what he sees wish he stayed dead. A rundown house on a hill that looks like it comes from a nightmare. Spike slowly walk toward the bottom of a hill to spot an odd looking Doll. He inspects the Doll to see if it in good condition. It took Spike a few second to examine it, to see the clothing look new.

“Why would somepony dress a Doll to look like a servant?” Spike asks feeling a little awkward.

Spike continue up the hill seeing bubbling coming from the brick steps, as he got closer three-misshaping things came out. “Accept Gift from Messengers”. Spike seems hesitant to look at the three weapons. “The messengers offer you a trick weapon. Choose one. Trick weapons are wielded with the right hand and employed in beast hunting”. Spike look at the three weapons a Saw Cleaver, a Hunter Axe, and a Threaded Cane. He looked over the weapons to see which one he prefers after a few minutes feel out the Cleaver, Axe, and the Cane, Spike pick the Cleaver. It is perfect for Spike; the hunter axe was powerful but slow, the threaded cane was fast but do no damage.

“That strange why do I feel so comfortable using this weapon? Maybe it’s a dragon thing, Ember did tell me that dragons are more warrior base than any other creature,” sigh Spike as he wishes to go back home.

Spike put the Saw Cleaver on his back and proceeds to continue up the hill. He reaches a second bubbling thing and other three-misshaping things pop out. “The messengers offer you a firearm. Choose one. Fire are wielded with the left hand, and employed in beast hunting.” Spike saw the two weapons and looked at them, a Hunter Pistol and Hunter Blunder buss, he never saw firearm like these in Equestria.

“Not even Twilight, Celestia, and Luna heard of this. Ah,scale I miss my sister Twi, Momlestia, and auntie Lulu.” Feeling tears roll down his cheek.

After a few minutes Spike dries his tears and pick the Hunter pistol, he realizes that his dragon fire can hit multiple targets and this pistol base on the designed, will hit one target. Spike reach the top of the hill to see one more bubbling thing, and this time it was a note book. “A note book received from the messengers. Leave messages with theses loyal servants they share them with hunters in other worlds.”

“This may be useful to keep around,” Spike said putting the note book in his pocket.

As Spike reach the top of the hill the door to the house is open, he slowly walks in and sees an old man in a wheel chair. Spike approach the old guy, with his saw cleaver in his right, ready to strike down if he moves from that wheel chair.

“Boo,” whispered the old man.

Spike drops his saw cleaver on the wood floor and jump back pulling out his pistol.

“Ah-hah, you must be the new hunter. Welcome to the Hunter’s Dream. This will be your home, for now. I am… Gehrman, friend to you hunters. You’re sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don’t think too hard about all of this,” Gehrman said in a rough whisper.

“But I don’t want to be a hunter. I want to go home to my friend and family!” Spike yelled. At Gehrman.

“Just go out and kill a few beasts. It’s for your own good,” Gehrman said ignore the young dragon plead.

“I don’t want to kill. I want to go home!” Spike roar.

“You Know, it’s just what hunters do! You’ll get used to it…,” Gehrman ignores Spike again.

Spike storms out the house and down the brick step. He came across tombstones, on top of the tombstones; it’s read Yharnam Headstone. Spike kneels and feels the engraves on the tombstones are letter “1st Floor Sickroom”. He felt his body goes heavy and past out.
