I woke up early today, excited since it was a very special day for my marefriend, Moonlight Bunny.

I flew from our home to meet up with Glimmer Melody at Sugar Cube Corner. I had to smile since she was there already, enjoying her usual coffee with loads of sugar and an apple fritter.

“Hello Blaze, did you manage to get past Moony without waking her up?” Glimmer asked with a serene grin on her muzzle.

“Yes I did, she was sleeping deeply when I left the cloud house.”

"Excellent, let's get started!" Toffee Ribbons sat herself down next to me and pulled out a list she had prepared for the surprise birthday party we were planning for Bunny. We had been planning this for weeks.

“Glimmy, I managed to get the special honey that will make the cake more palatable for us. I also found some gag items guaranteed to make Moony blush!" Toffee clapped her hooves in glee.

I freely admit I blushed a bit when I saw the condom-themed lollipops and dildo-shaped chocolates.

"Somepony is blushing!" Two voices teased in unison.

I face hoofed when I heard Glimmer and Toffee giggle at my discomfort.

"Hay, yeah.." Toffee's grin spread across her face, eyes gleaming.

“No, no! That is not a good idea!” I got skittish when they started advancing on me. What were they planning?

“Don’t let him get away!” Toffee said suddenly, charging at me with a rope.

I surprised the twosome by exiting Sugar Cube corner like my tail was on fire!

I hid behind the chicken coop at Fluttershy’s cottage. I knew plenty of hiding spots all over Ponyville, so a major game of hide and seek was quickly set in motion.

“Hi Blaze!” I heard the two say at the same time, they were right ahead!

I almost got away, but in the end the two mares managed to lasso and hogtie me.

“Can we talk about this, Glimmer?” I pleaded while being carried back to Sugarcube Corner, all trussed up like a chicken.

“Be a good sport, Blaze. We know you've always wanted to be Moonlight’s first. I'm surprised that you would gallop off before we can explain our plan.” Toffee Ribbons gave my flank a swat, making me yelp from the sting.

"Ow, hay!"

Moonlight Bunny had arrived at Sugarcube Corner during the chase and was sitting by the window sipping coffee when she saw me being carried in the door by Glimmer and Toffee.

I noticed her quirked brow as she spotted I was in a rather compromising situation.

“Blaze lost a bet.” Glimmer Melody fibbed smoothly to Moonlight Bunny with a grin.

"I see. Take your punishment well, Blaze," Bunny teased me with a smile.

I sighed internally, relaxing since the lie had been enough to fool Moonlight Bunny.

Bunny got up from the table and kissed my muzzle on her way out of the bakery. She had her saddle bags on, so she was going out for the day.

Knowing her routine, she was likely going to get some rare herbs in Everfree forest for her mother.

Bunny was known for being a very talented pharmacist by everypony in Ponyville. Mothers asked for cures for ailing children and Bunny would instantly know which remedy they needed soon as she heard the symptoms...

I gave a gasp, my thoughts derailing, as Glimmer Melody swiftly and sneakily tied a bow around my shaft. I shook the silly thing off with an embarrassed grunt.

“I have things to do and being gift wrapped is not one of them!” I grumbled, with my ears pinned to my sides and eyes narrowed.

“Come on Blaze, this was a great idea! Plus, it beats the nick-knacks we bought from the adult party store.” Glimmer Melody gave me the pouty puppydog eyes and won easily, since she knew I could not resist that look.

“Fine, I will let you tie me up later, before the party. HAPPY?” I said with a snarl.

I instantly regretted my decision when I seen the looks on their faces, twin grins stretching ear to ear and decided I was not sticking around to keep that promise. If they wanted me that badly they could come find me in Canterlot!

"You tried to go back on your promise, you naughty boy.” Toffee Ribbons said, using a liquorice lariat on me. I reared up as it started to tighten around me, managing to break free of the candy.

I galloped out of my room running past my father, King Sombra, who was not ready to see me running for dear life while being chased by two mares with liquorice lariats. I seen his perplexed face, mouth open to ask a question but by the time he could vocalise it, I was long gone.

I teleported to the balcony and quickly hid myself in the shadows. This was a useful trick I'd inherited from my father...

Sadly this meant that Dad had no problem locating me.

“Blaze, why are you running away from your friends? I am a little rusty on the playing customs of modern ponies but it would seem to me that is awfully discourteous-"

Dad always spoke so formally, given his original timeline was over a thousand years ago. I'd tried mimicking him, but it sounded stiff and at odds. I realised dad was still talking and tuned back in-

"-I feel I must ask, what is the necessity of the liquorice lassos, though?” The perplexed stallion looked at me now.

“They want to gift wrap me for Moonlight Bunny.” I said blushing brightly, not quite making eye contact with Dad.

"Ah, a courtship ritual? Why did you not say so. THAT, I can offer a little perspective on."
Dad placed a hoof on my shoulder. “If there is one thing that I have learned Blaze, it is that there is no stopping a determined mare."

"I think things have changed a little since your time, father.."

But dad wasn't paying attention, too lost in memory.

" I know you have very strong feelings for this special mare of yours. Your friends shenanigans may seem ludicrous, but I am positive you will enjoy what they have in mind."

Dad winked at me and I blushed. How could he be so blunt?

I heard hoofsteps and dad turned to look over his shoulder.

"Glimmer, Toffee, he should not give you anymore trouble today. I have given him a talk on his courtship decisions” Dad said, making me groan since I felt betrayed.

My father waved obliviously at me as I was tied up and carted away again.
