My Little Pony Friendship is Chaos
The magic duel of the century
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEverything seemed fine in Ponyville, Twilight and some her friends were at Fluttershy’s house using some of Fluttershy’s animal friends to perform a trick.
“Don’t be scared little friends,” Fluttershy said to her little animal friends, “Twilight is wonderful with Magic. Anything happens to them Twilight, So help me.”
“Don’t worry Fluttershy. Twilight’s magic has gotten a lot better since she accidentally crushed me, Chaos, and Applejack with a giant snowball.”
'’Tis true.” Chaos added, “And besides Fluttershy, I think it’s you who’s afraid.”
After successfully performing it, Rainbow dashed zoomed in and crashed into Twilight telling her that she was needed for an emergency. Once she, Chaos, and Rainbow Dash arrived at the scene, they witnessed a pony using advanced magic spells. Once the hooded pony caught a glimpse of Twilight, she removed her hood to reveal herself as Trixie, bearing a strange necklace.
“Uhhh. Who she? And where did she get that necklace? It looks freaking awesome.” Chaos asked awed.
“You call that, Great and Powerful?” Rainbow Dash asked mockingly.
In turn, Trixie created a spell on Dash, causing one of her wings to enlarge and making her lose balance.
“That’s Trixie.” Spike responded, “A pony who had a problem with Twilight a while back. I think it was before you got here Chaos.”
“Oh, okay! That makes sense. Because she doesn’t seem familiar at all. By the way Rainbow Dash, next time don’t mock someone who is clearly more powerful then you!”
Twilight demanded Trixie to stop harassing her friends but to no avail. Trixie kept using her magic on Twilight’s friends until Twilight asked what she wanted. Immediately, Trixie conjured up a screen that showed the events after her previous defeat.
“I even had to take a job on a rock farm just to earn a living! A rock farm!” She yelled.
"Hey!” Pinkie Pie interrupted, “You're lucky a rock farm would take the likes of you!”
Annoyed by her voice, Trixie decided to remove Pinkie Pie’s mouth.
“Okay. I gotta admit, that was cool. Uncalled for, but cool either way.” Chaos said as he got into the conversation, “When I arrived here as well, I too had to work in the rock farm for some time. How do you think I stayed in shape and got these sexy muscles? It’s hard work, yes, but it’s something. Better than nothing right? Now let me get this straight? You wasted most if not all of your gold bits to buy the necklace and that fancy black robe with the hoodie I’m guessing, which instead you could’ve used those bits to restore you wagon, and or get help to actually increase your magic? All of this just for a little revenge that most likely will end in failure? Well that necklace better be worth your gold bits because I see many holes in your plan.”
“You dare talk back to the Great and Powerful Trixie?!” She exclaimed as she shot a blast at him. As the blast hit Chaos, his body began to move rapidly, absorbing the entire blast.
“Yeah. Forgot to mention that your magic doesn’t affect me. Too bad, so sad. I believe it will be better if you focus on Twilight then me.”
Once Twilight agreed to duel, Trixie made the first move as she blasted a cart loaded with two barrels of apples into the air. It fell towards a group of nearby ponies, causing them to scramble away before it hit the ground. However, with all the commotion, a pony tripped and became in danger of being crushed. Chaos quickly ran towards her and threw his body above so that he would get injured instead, but Twilight managed to stop the cart with the barrels just in time. Chaos looked up and quickly grabbed an apple then said, “Hey! No endangering the other ponies! It’s only between you and Twilight! If you do it again I’ll stop this duel and throw you two out myself.”
Trixie complied and resumed the duel with Twilight. After a while, Trixie summoned up her two servants, Snips and Snails, and used her magic to make Snips a wailing foal and Snails a withered elderly pony.
Twilight and her friends all were shocked by the spell, and even more after she mentioned that only highest level unicorns could use aging spells. Twilight tried to reverse the spell but the power required was far beyond her capabilities at that moment. Trixie promptly banished her from town.
Before Spike and her friends could join her, Trixie conjured a large glass dome that sealed off Ponyville. As Twilight’s pony friends walked away from the glass, Chaos walked up to it and smashed the glass, enough to make an opening big enough for him. Seeing an opportunity the ponies once again raced towards the outside but bumped into the glass again as Trixie repaired the damage glass.
“It’s okay guys. I’ll figure something out. Take care of each other.” Twilight said sadly.
“Keep an eye on Trixie, there is something strange going with her.” Chaos told them, “Can’t put my finger on it though.” He then followed her into the wood and soon were out of sight.
A while later, Twilight tried to use her magic to de-age a flower to its budding stage. At first she seemed to have succeeded, but the second her magic was let go, it immediately returned to its natural age.
“It’s impossible. How could Trixie know such advanced magic?” She asked herself.
“Can’t you send a message to the Princess?” Chaos asked.
“Without Spike I can’t.”
“Then who else knows or understands strange and powerful magic? I got!” Chaos and Twilight then went to Zecora’s house to ask for help in the situation. Zecora agreed to help out Twilight, but was curious to why Chaos didn’t help out more. “I don’t get involved in situations like that. I only get involved if it’s truly necessary. Like when I helped to protect Shoeshine, but that’s about it. Besides, it’d be unfair since magic doesn’t affect me. So if me and her dueled, I would win in a heartbeat.”
Back in Ponyville, Trixie forced the citizens to become her slaves, and conjured bad weather inside the glass dome to instill fear to everyone. She even made all of Twilight friends do vigorous work nonstop making the town hall into her own personal castle.
In the forest, Twilight concentrated on levitating three spheres of water around herself while also standing on the surface of a pool.
“No noise, no sound, no din, no fuss, must interfere with your focus. Unlearn what you have learned, only then can victory be earned.” Zecora recited while balancing herself on one leg.
“Peace and Tranquility.” Chaos repeated to himself while balancing upside-down and levitating six boulders around himself with his telekinetic ability. However, Twilight couldn’t focus well as she couldn’t stop thinking about Trixie's victory. She dropped the water spheres and fell through the pool surface.
“Your thinking need an adjust. Total concentration is a must.” Zecora told Twilight.
As she got out of the pool, Twilight was awe struck as to see Chaos doing a similar exercise and actually succeeding with little to no effort. “How is it possible for you to lift those boulders when I could barely lift three spheres of water?” She asked.
“Because unlike you, I’ve had vigorous training ever since I can remember. I think I might be able to replicate your scenario and succeed in it. Telekinesis is a fairly easier ability to master then my psychic abilities but even still, I’m somewhat of a master with both. My father wanted to see and know the limitations of my powers. However he never got the chance to see it. Not even I know the full extent of my powers. Every time I thought I reached my limit I always seem to surpass it.” Chaos replied.
“You truly are amazing.” She said still in awe.
“If you say so.” He responded as he let go of the boulders and stood up to join Zecora for some tea.
Back in ponyville, the rest of Twilight and Chaos’s friends decided to find more information about the strange necklace that Trixie wore. They searched every book in Twilight’s house for a while but came up empty. Fluttershy then found a book with useful information about it. Spike took the book from her and began reading it, along with the others. “The book says that the wearer of the amulet gains amazing magical power, but it also corrupts the user to evil the more he or she uses it.” Spike explained, “It also mentions that due to a magical lock, the wearer is the only one who can take off the amulet.”
With all the information they had gathered, the girls sent a terrified Fluttershy to sneak out and contact Twilight and Chaos. After managing to escape from the glass dome, Fluttershy became petrified at the prospect of looking for Twilight and Chaos but soon found them at Zecora’s hut. She then informed Twilight about the Alicorn Amulet and discussed a plan to beat Trixie at her own game. After figuring out a the meaning of Zecora’s words Twilight wrote a letter and sent Fluttershy accompanied by Chaos back to Ponyville.
Later Twilight and Zecora arrived at the outskirts of Ponyville, where Trixie was waiting for them. Twilight then proceeded to accuse Trixie of cheating now that she knew about the Alicorn Amulet and knew that Trixie would deny the accusation. She then revealed that she was given a green amulet that was “way more powerful” then the Alicorn Amulet. At first Trixie scoffed at the claim but Twilight kept baiting her saying that she’ll never see the “totally awesome magic from beyond the Everfree Forest”. Seeing that there was no reply, Twilight and Zecora began to walk away. Unable to stand not knowing, Trixie dispelled the glass dome and teleported them to the place where they fought the last time.
“Alright. Let’s get on with the show.” Chaos whispered as everyone got into their place.
Wasting no time, Trixie performed her age spell on Snips and Snails, transforming them into foals. Twilight then called up her friends Rarity and Applejack and casted her own age spells which were far superior to Tirxie’s. Completely defeated, Trixie could do nothing but stare on in horror, with no way of making a comeback. As Twilight bragged that her amulet was stronger than Trixie's, Trixie uses her magic to snatch it while taking off the Alicorn Amulet, its evil magic sputtering out, and puts on the green one. Rainbow Dash quickly took the Alicorn Amulet away from Trixie who at first protested but remembered that Twilight’s was “far stronger” then the Alicorn Amulet.
“With this Amulet I’ll rule all Of Equestria!” Trixie declared as she shot a beam at Rainbow Dash, hoping that it would make her writhe in agony. But to Trixie’s surprise it only tickled Rainbow Dash.
“Stop it! Tha- That tickles!” Rainbow Dash replied laughing.
“Tickles?” Trixie asked surprised, “That was supposed to make you writhe in agony! This amulet is defective! Give mine back!”
“Sorry.” Rainbow Dahs responded as she dropped off the necklace with Chaos, “This is going back into hiding where it belongs. Make sure it’s hidden well where no one will ever find it.”
“I know just the place.” Chaos replied with an eerie grin on his face, “Well. Well. Aren’t you gonna come in handy someday?”
“What was that Chaos?” Rainbow asked him confused.
“Nothing. Just talking to myself. Again.” He responded shaking his head as he left.
As Chaos left to hide the amulet, Twilight then revealed that the amulet Trixie stole from her was merely "one of Zecora's doorstops", just as it fell to the ground and shattered in little pieces. Twilight explains to Trixie that all of her "advanced magic spells" were actually common magic tricks and illusions.
“But... how did you do those spells? Nopony can do those spells!” Trixie asked upset.
“You're right. Not even me. Zecora taught me so much about magic while I was in exile. She even taught me when not to use it. My magic alone wasn't powerful enough to take on the Alicorn Amulet head to head, so I needed to use a different kind of magic – the magic of friendship. I also knew that the only pony who could get the amulet off your neck was you.”
In a flashback, Fluttershy gathers her friends and their families to read out Twilight's plan. In another that takes place in Carousel Boutique, Applejack begins to paint Apple Bloom orange to recreate her filly self as Pinkie Pie paints Big McIntosh and gives him Applejack's cutie mark to produce a stallion version of Applejack. Rarity dyes and combs Sweetie Belle's hair to make her look like Rarity as a filly. Fluttershy adjusts her Rainbow Dash wig in a mirror and exchanges a smile with Granny Smith, who has also been painted and disguised to look like an elderly Applejack. When Twilight was "casting" her spells during the duel, the different ages of Applejack and Rarity hid behind a nearby statue and revealed themselves in turn, creating the illusion of an effortless age spell. When Trixie confusedly inquired about the pony with the ten instruments, Twilight cheerfully stated it was not magic, but rather it was just Pinkie's sheer skill as performer.
Moments later, Chaos returned and asked, “What I’d miss? Was there any bloodshed or anything like that?! Please tell me there was?”
“Chaos, dear. Can’t you ever ask something subtlety. I mean is it too much to ask?” Rarity asked him annoyed.
“I’m a crazy villainous barren with a monocle. I don’t do subtle.” He responded jokingly, “No, but really. What did I miss?”
“Nothing much.” Applejack replied, “Twilight was explained to Trixie how she able to perform her magical spells.”
“Awesome. By the way, someone tell Twilight that Princess Celestia and the delegate of Saudi Arabia are here.” Chaos said pointing towards the Princess.
“Uhhh. Don’t you mean Saddle Arabia Chaos?” Applejack asked confused.
“No.” he responded firmly, “In my world it’s called Saudi not Saddle. Also just like Manehattan, in my world it’s called Manhattan. You guys see the difference?” Seeing the confused looks on their faces Chaos dropped the conversation and focused on the show Twilight had planned for the delegates.
"Why do I even bother.” He said to himself, “It’s like talking to babies.”
Everyone watched in awe as Twilight performed her magi trick, in which she once again levitates Fluttershy's animal friends in an infinity symbol. But as she placed the animals down, she realized that Trixie had been adding fancy fireworks to the background. As Trixie put her cape and hat on, “It's the least I could do.” She replied, “I treated you and your friends so horribly when I was wearing that Alicorn Amulet. I just couldn't control myself. You can forgive me, can't you?”
“Hmmm. Sure” Twilight replied. “Oh, good. Don't you think the Great and Apologetic Trixie is the most magnificent humble pony you've ever seen?!” Twilight just smiles and shakes her head.
“However, don’t think that we won’t keep an eye on you.” Chaos said. Trixie then left in a puff of smoke. As she cantered away, she tripped and fell, then got up and kept running.
“She’s going to be trouble in the future isn’t she?” He asked Twilight. “Maybe so. But we’ll have to wait and see.” She responded as both of them watched Trixie disappear in the distance.
