Arcane Legends
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryWithin a desert far from civilization a lone figure walks through the night. With a full moon shining behind it, its figure is only partially seen past its black cloak that drapes over its body. It is tall seemingly around 6 feet, walking on two legs it continues its stride. A stray wind stirs up pushing its cloak to the side revealing two arms dangling beside it, its black clothing billowing in the cold night wind. The creature stops and sharply turns to its right. Scanning the horizon reveals nothing to the normal eyesight, but a azure glow illuminates from within the hood of the cloak. This light reveals the eyes of the creature, a startling sapphire blue, its eyes survey the dunes that surround its being. It opens its mouth and lets out a sigh.
"God dammit... where am I? I thought This was the way out of Saddle Arabia." his voice, distinctly male in nature, sounds out muffled by the surrounding sand. He shakes his head in exasperation.
"Alright I've been heading east for the past... uh... day? So that should have at least taken me to an ocean or sea-side city or something..." gazing out once again to the sand, his eyes blazing blue he focuses more energy into his enhanced eyes.
"I should be able to see... wait. There it is!" he quickly takes off, sprinting through the desert to a now noticeable sea as he crests over a dune.
"I knew I was heading the right way! Oh man when I get back I'm gonna have Discords ass for locking me away half way across the world for so long." determined he pushes energy into his legs, pumping them harder as glyphs start to appear underneath every step, propelling him even faster toward the water.
Sand now being kicked up in a cloud catches the attention of one of Saddle Arabia's nocturnal hunters, The giant scorpion. Something had just invaded its hunting grounds, so now it was going to pay. Crawling steadily towards the disturbance it cuts it off from continuing. Not exactly knowing what it was getting into it quickly fell in an explosion of light, just like many of its brethren in the most recent days.
"Outta my way, I'm not dealing with you guys tonight!" With his hand glowing runes disintegrating into the air from the discharge of arcane energies he continues undeterred towards his goal.
Unfortunately he may have overshot his last jump over a dune and lands squarely into the water with a rather generous splash. Quickly surfacing he paddles to shore and stands on the beach.
"Okay, now that I'm here where do I go?" he really wishes he brought a map, it'd make things much easier, but hey what're you going to do when you've been locked away in a middle eastern country for tens of thousands of years against your will. The closest thing you would have for a readable map is a leaf with directions to the nearest bush to go in. Groaning he looks out to the ocean.
"Why did my beacon have to wear off, hell why did Discord not renew it... if this was just a prank he would leave me with something that would help me get home." quite annoyed he tried to focus the thaumatergic energies contained within his body into pinpointing something familiar to him.
"Wait what? Is that... no, it can't be. But, it has to be... that would mean that Faust, and..." a grin splits his face. He sensed a familiar aura very far away from where he was. Or more accurately half a familiar aura. Back then he was only a relative teenager compared to Faust but what he sensed was only a far-fetched thought at the time. That idea was Faust having a child, make that two now that he thought about it. But one was currently weaker than the other, younger sibling maybe?
"Alright assuming that where they are is Equestria, I could probably teleport over there... aw crap that'll sap me of most of my energy though going that distance. Oh well, its either that or swim. Okay just don't teleport to them just in the relative area, then go home." he mumbles to himself as he plots his course. With a nod everything is set and he begins to charge his energy, molding it into a large scale magical circle. A glass like substance distorts the very air as the azure energy turns into a pure white, signifying that the spell is charged. With a simple push of his mind he performed a Shard Blitz. The glass like material shatters distorting reality for a split second. When the shards turn to dust it reveals that the creature is no longer there.
Canterlot, a serene noble town that is currently silent as dawn approaches, that is until that dawn is disturbed by reality literally shattering into existence as a figure appeared, a shock-wave rolls out shaking everything within its radius. This figure clothed in black quickly falls under the law of gravity, the wind pushing his hood away from his face revealing a soft but equally sharp face and jet-black hair, a blue triangle tattoo on his left cheek near the bottom. His face quickly adorns a very surprised expression as he plummets off the mountain side.
Thinking quickly he activates his magic, even if it was severely drained from the earlier action, creating weakly glowing runes around his feet as it actively slows his decent. Unfortunately he still lands quite hard onto the ground, jarring his body, pain erupts within his legs as they take most of the shock. Getting off the ground was easy, but walking was a bit trickier. Wincing in pain he takes a moment to look at his surroundings. He definitely knows this place, its that one mountain with the crystal caves that he used to frequent. He noticed a castle at the top, hanging off the side of the mountain.
"She moved from the forest? Wow... I thought she didn't like heights that much." he questioned, looking back down he noticed a town quite a ways away, but it was in a very distinct spot.
"Why is there a town where I live... I thought I lived secluded enough to where ponies wouldn't bother me." ire quickly forms an expression of irritation on his face. Not only this but the old forest around his home wasn't there anymore.
Sighing he slowly makes his way over to his old home. Hoping that his house was still there.
Twilight Sparkle was sleeping soundly within her tree house, this is rare since she usually was up late studying her books for lessons on friendship. Some might say that it was obsessive but she didn't mind. However something disturbed her sleep, it was very subtle...
"WHO TURNED MY HOUSE INTO A TREE?!"
Author's Note
Heya! I know I seem new but I made some, well failed stories in the past. I'm just here to say criticism is welcome just don't be too rude about it.
